*Long heavy sigh*
This book follows our main character, Lore, almost directly after the events of the first book (Lore of the Wilds): she wakes up in a room aboard Syrelle's ship with him asking her to use her magic to find another grimoire - the Auroradel. There's some political intrigue, a little bit of romantic pining, and some adult-level spice, but I ultimately found myself feeling extremely bored with the journey Lore, Syrelle, and Finndryl were taking. Some of the moments were excruciatingly repetitive - reminding me that one of the guards was "a rabbit-eared guard" or shoving it down my throat that Lore isn't supposed to trust Syrelle because he lied and betrayed her (yet she's still incredibly attracted to her) - and I found that the romance between Lore and Syrelle in this book was lacking. I mean, I suppose that fits with the whole "Lore is trying to fight her feelings for him because he betrayed her" kind of thing, but the one-sided pining was just... not something I could get behind. The other thing that stood out to me was the dialogue, specifically the cadence of the dialogue between the characters. The characters rarely used contractions, and they seemed to be trying to speak in a more... regal or noble dialect, but then in the same breath they would drop the f-bomb. The sexual scenes felt like the ones I read in any fantasy romance, but they felt out of place in this novel: the language used by the characters didn't fit with the way they spoke or thought the rest of the time.
Overall, unfortunately, I just didn't enjoy this one. I was hoping that it would hit in ways that the first book didn't, but it still felt lackluster in a lot of ways.

Lore of the Tides delivers a satisfying end to Lore Alemeyu’s journey, with lush oceanic settings and high-stakes magic that fans of the series will appreciate. The tension aboard the ship and Lore’s emotional struggle between trust and betrayal add depth, though the pacing sometimes drags, particularly in the middle chapters. While the romance is compelling, it occasionally overshadows the plot’s urgency. Still, the conclusion ties up major threads and offers a heartfelt resolution, making it a solid, if not unforgettable, finale to this Fae fantasy saga.

This sequel was everything and more. In this sequel Lore Alemeyu along with Fin and her new friends made family embark in a journey to save her people, find the book Auroradel and discover the depths of her powers. She discovers that Asher is not who she believes he was and held many secrets but amongst all that he still deeply loves her. She spends more time with Syrelle, gets to know him more and even though he held many things from her she realizes she will always love him. She also falls in love with Finn’s selfless acts, his willingness to follow her even when going into danger just because he wants to be with her. He really didn’t inhibit her freedom and the reason why she chose him. Above all this book was very enjoyable to read, I loved that it didn’t drag out the story line and ended with the sequel thought I wish there had been a different ending with Syrelle but can also understand why it ended that way.
Definitely recommend this book and thanks to the author and Avon and Harper for providing an arc copy to review!

Lore is on the hunt for the second magical book before it’s in the wrong hands of the Alytherian Fae. She wakes up as a prisoner on a ship with a crew that doesn’t trust her magic. She’s off on another grand adventure!
I loved the characters! Lore, Finn, Syrelle. The world Analeigh creates is truly magical. Her writing style hooks you in and you want to devour the story.
Read this if you want:
Enemies to lovers
Love triangle
Found family
Strong FMC

Awesome magical kingdom
Thanks to Harper Voyage, Net Galley, and Analeigh Sbrana for the ARC! Pub date July 8, 2025

I loved this book so much, and it's such a great ending to this story! I really wanted more of Lore's world, and I'm glad we got to see more of it in this book. I would read another book set in this world in a heartbeat! We meet so many new but cool characters, and this adventure is new and exciting, but one that Lore really needed to go on. She is so amazing, and I loved seeing her explore a new world and navigate changing relationships.
I was curious to see Lore's relationship with Asher (AKA Syrelle) with how Lore Of The Wilds ended. I wasn't the biggest fan of Syrelle, but I did love Lore and Finn together. I also thought that all of the characters grew a lot in the this book, but I especially loved seeing Lore grow and tap into her inner strength. I also loved seeing her make a lot of different decisions and seeing her try to balance what she wants for herself, for her friends and for the people of Duskmere.
This book has a very different feel to it, and it's not one we see in the first book. I think it's a combination of Lore being more aware of what's going on and the difference in setting. I love the forest we saw in the first book, but I also love the underwater world we see, as well as the time spent sailing across the ocean. I really felt like I was in Lore's world, and it was so vivid and full of detail. Her world really came to life, and it was the little things that made her world feel so real.
One moment that really stood out was when Finn offered to braid Lore's hair, which I absolutely loved reading. My hair is nothing like Lore's, but no matter what's going on, her hair still needed to be taken of care, and I was glad that Finn was able to care for her in that way. It's not something I would stop to think about, but it is something that others have to think about, and I'm glad we got to see that.
My Rating: This is a 5 star book in my opinion! I love the world and the characters and I can't to have this book sitting on my bookshelf. I haven't talked about the cover, but it is absolutely beautiful, and I would 100% buy a print of it to hang up on my wall. I don't reread books often, but I know this is one I'll be revisiting again!

2.5 stars rounded up.
Thanks to NetGalley and Harper Voyager for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.
Lore of the Wilds ended with our main character Lore facing betrayal and an epic new journey. She is taken on a ship to chase a second grimoire, the sister to Deeping Lune, the grimoire discovered in book 1.
Things I enjoyed: Sirens, strong FMC, found family, a completed duology!
Something I wanted explained a bit more - the magic system! I wanted to know more about how things were happening and how the world existed the way that it does. The world is fascinating but we did not get enough info.
The tone of this book is also written as YA, but it’s marketed as an adult fantasy. The romance in the book is kind of thrown in there and I don’t know if I needed it.

Lore of the Tides is everything you loved about Lore of the Wilds except with more magic, relationships, romance, power, and reclaiming home.
Analeigh Sbrana left us off on a HUGE plot twist, so I was eager to crack this book open and re-immerse myself in this world. I am obsessed with Analeigh's storytelling. There is something in the way she puts her vision to the page that makes me feel like there's a movie in my head, I can really picture everything Lore is seeing.
This book is beautifully written and constructed. It expands upon themes of self-identity, greed, desire, power, oppression, and how far you're willing to go to protect the people you love. Lore is a force to be reckoned with. Even as a captive on a Fae ship, she makes the brave decision to beat them at their own game - She is going to find Deeping Lune's sister grimoire before they can. She turns her rage into action as she continues to understand her magical abilities and venture on a treacherous quest.
You can expect morally grey men, a strong FMC, love triangles, found family, hidden identity, political intrigue, and an adorable animal companion within these pages.
I really appreciate the space Analeigh holds for diversity within the fantasy genre. I think it is very important to be able to see people who look like you in media, to be the hero in your own story, and she provides much visibility in this series. While haircare is definitely mentioned throughout this series, Lore of the Tides has a few scenes where Lore and Finn take care of each other's hair. It is very powerful to think about hair, identity, safety, and trust in those moments.
Lore of the Tides is definitely more about the journey than the destination so expect to read more about the adventure than the final boss battle. The only critique that I had for this duology is that, other than the explicit romance scenes, I forgot I was reading an adult fantasy novel. It does feel a bit more young adult to me, however, I enjoy reading across multiple categories so this wasn't a dealbreaker. Despite this, I still really enjoyed reading this series and hope to read more from Analeigh Sbrana in the future.
Thank you to Harper Voyager and NetGalley for gifting me an ARC!

I was enjoying this so much I couldn’t go to sleep.
I loved the siren storyline and the battles with the creatures that occurred.
Lore coming into her confidence and her power with each page.
Finn & the time he took with his care of Lore. Literally so freaking sweet I can’t handle it— I don’t want to give any more than that so you can also enjoy the story on your own.
The friendship and the community, the redemption and the healing—- I was emotional.
Thank you Avon, Harper Voyager, and The Nerd Fam with the ability to read this ARC. Wonderful conclusion to Lore’s story.
P.s. I loathe Coretha.

Lore of the Tides is an engaging and exciting follow up to Lore of the Wilds. Reeling from Asher’s betrayal, and worried for her friends and family in Duskmere, Lore finds herself trapped on a ship with fae sailing away from everything she knows. Syrelle is seeking the Auroradel, the twin grimoire to Lore’s Deeping Lune. Lore must rescue Finn and find a way to keep the Auroradel away from the fae king, or risk him becoming more powerful than anyone could ever imagine.
I really enjoyed this sequel to Lore of the Wilds. Lore is such a great character - she’s smart and clever, and even though she’s hurting, she still wants to find a way to save the ones she loves. After the end of book one, we had a bit of a love triangle brewing, and I wasn’t sure what exactly would happen with Lore, Finn, and Asher. I also loved how Lore really embraced her magic Source in book 2. This book had great pacing, and lots of action balanced with strong character development that kept me engaged throughout the book. The found family element was great, and I enjoyed the side characters a lot, especially Ember, Lore’s shapeshifting fox companion. The ending left me feeling satisfied, and I thought it was a great conclusion to this fantastic duology,
Thank you so much to NetGalley and to Harper Voyager for the advanced copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.
I’m calling it at 70%. This book bored me so much that even after I fell asleep reading it the previous night, I attempted to read it more the next day and decided a 4 hour nap was the better choice.
I saw two previous reviews that sum up my thoughts, but none more than Krissi’s where she talked about how this is being marketed to adults but is still painfully YA. News flash to Analeigh: adding a sex scene does not make this an adult book, it just makes it awkward for adults to read about teenagers having sex.
I admit, looking back, I was not overly fond of book one but I did like it enough to seek out the sequel and call this an anticipated release… and then I read about 100 pages and very promptly unhauled Lore of the Wilds and removed this from my mind wishlist. This is a very BAD book. The second review I mentioned earlier (I’m so sorry, I didn’t look at the name) talked about how this isn’t edited at all and I agree. With this being a completed ARC, I expected better writing and not so many mistakes. I’m not even talking grammar either, I’m taking about lines like “Old Salt, which Lore couldn’t be sure that, at birth, despite him being a fresh baby, wasn’t the name his mother had given him” because that is a convoluted sentence from hell and literally anyone who gave this a proofread should have told her.
Also, I couldn’t tell you a single thing that was happening. I felt like the plot was all over the place and everything felt super convenient when it needed to be and because, despite what Analeigh says, she is selling a YA novel, she felt like it didn’t need explaining because she didn’t expect teens to really read that much into her subpar world. I even remember book one not being overly explanatory of the magic, but when you add in sirens and other creatures, you gotta start giving something.
In the end, I’ll read from this author again but it won’t be a high priority

The first book ended on a cliffhanger and while I had some issues with book one, I was still interested in seeing where this went.
It was a bit predictable & the romance didn’t feel fully believable. There were parts I really enjoyed, but overall this isn’t a series I would necessarily come back to.

Would you trust someone that once betrayed you… This Dark Fae tension filled romance with a high seas adventure was so good I was hooked immediately. I adore lore and this adventure was destined for her, This book will keep you guessing. Together Lore, Finn & Asher face enemies greater than themselves. Pick the book up you won’t regret it.

First, the covers for this series are breathtaking. I loved how atmospheric these books and the authors writing was.

Thank you Harper Collins for the eARC. This review is honest, and voluntary.
This is such a beautiful conclusion to this duet. I loved seeing Lore find more confidence in herself and in her magic. The journey to find the second grimoire allowed Lore and company to see more of the world, which was very fun. I loved the underwater kingdom. The descriptions were vivid, and I felt like I could see it playing out in my head.
There was a lot packed into this book, and it felt a little slow at times with the world building. There was still plenty of action, adventure, and romance.
I would definitely recommend this duology. It's a great time and a unique story.

DNF at 52% - unfortunately this was a miss for me.
Let’s start with the good! The covers for this series are gorgeous! I think they illustrate the world inside very well, and the world inside is enchanting. In this book, we start out on a ship, and then make our way into a siren’s kingdom. The magic and the settings described are engaging and magical. I also think the world-building is decent, though I could have definitely used more of a book 1 recap.
I do have significant issues with the dialogue and relationships. There is simply no tension between Lore and either of her romantic interests. There is also no relationship-building that makes either of those love interests make sense. The dialogue is somewhat awkward as well, and characters speak in ways that are unnatural. Lore is pretty cruel in her words to her antagonists which I don’t mind, but the insults she hurls are almost childish.
I realize I didn’t get through the whole plot, so I can’t comment on the resolution. However, the pacing in the first half was stutter and start, and left me frustrated.
Thank you to Analeigh Sbrana, Avon and Harper Voyager, and NetGalley for the ARC.

Lore of the Tides is an atmospheric, richly imagined fantasy that pulls you into a world of maritime lore, ancient magic, and high stakes destiny. The author’s worldbuilding is fantastic, with salt-stained ports, shipboard intrigue, and mysterious deep sea creatures that feel vivid and real.
I loved the morally complex characters and the slow-burn relationships, both romantic and platonic. The plot is twisty without being too confusing, although the early chapters require a bit of patience. Once it gets going, it’s hard to put down.
My only complaint is that the pacing drags a little in the middle, and I wanted more depth for some of the secondary characters. But overall this is a rewarding read.

Thank you for the opportunity to read this ARC.
I read Lore of the Wilds and while it didn’t completely blow me away, the ending left me curious enough to continue the duology. Unfortunately, Lore of the Tides didn’t quite deliver the reading experience I was hoping for.
To start with the positives, I was intrigued by the early chapters where Lore is held captive on the ship. That section had a strong atmosphere, even though her internal monologue felt repetitive and dragged in places. I also appreciated the introduction of a new tribe and the presence of sea creatures, which added some unique worldbuilding elements.
However, the romance between Lore and Finn didn’t land for me. It had potential, but the pacing felt rushed. The explicit scenes, in particular, felt out of place. The book is marketed as adult fantasy, but much of the writing (especially outside the romance) reads more like YA. The inconsistency in tone—between the worldbuilding and plot, and then the romance and dialogue—made the story feel disjointed, almost like two different books merged into one.
Most of the action takes place in the final 10% of the book, and it felt rushed and underdeveloped. There was a lot of potential here, but overall the story felt uneven and a bit all over the place.
I still gave 3 stars because I didn’t feel it was terrible, just some things didn’t read easily and the story dragged at times, slightly repetitive.

Lore of the Tides was such an amazing read! I absolutely loved the adventure this story swept me into. It felt like I was right there alongside the characters, experiencing every twist and turn as they happened. The world-building was so vivid that I could picture every scene playing out like a movie in my mind, and I loved it so much. The amazing places I visited in this world were truly magical 🤩✨️
The characters completely stole my heart; they were so lovable, and their story kept me hooked from start to finish. Their journey, the bonds they formed, and the obstacles they faced made this such a fun and immersive experience.
Thank you for the advance e-copy.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publishers and the author for the e-ARC in exchange for honest review. 4.5 beautifully written stars!
This book was a fabulous conclusion to Lore of the Wilds. I loved Lore in book 1 and was so ready to see where things went in book 2.
After Asher/Syrelle's betrayal at the end of book 1, Lore and Finndryl are kidnapped and taken by Syrelle to help find the second of his grandfather's grimoires. The book follows the adventures that they all must take in order to find the grimoire and restore peace to their lands. I loved the new characters we met in this book, the magic was so cool and I adored getting to see Lore and Finn's relationship blossom. I was so proud of Lore for coming into her own and becoming a true leader for the humans and finding a way to bring peace between the Fae and humans.
Would definitely recommend to anyone who loved book 1, as book 2 is even better!

I read the first book the same day it came out and finished it in a day, so it's no surprise that I was beyond excited for the sequel. From the characters, to the pacing, to the worldbuilding - this book was everything I expected and wanted it to be. I've absolutely adored Lore since the first book, and watching her grow throughout the duology has been such a great experience. Lore of the Tides felt just as much like a breath of fresh air as Lore of the Wilds did, and I'm so excited to keep supporting Analeigh as she continues her author journey. The representation this book brings into the Romantasy genre and fiction in general is nothing short of life-changing for me and many others around the world - it means everything to be able to see yourself in a main character this way.
