This is the second book in the Lore of the Wilds Duology. This book was such a fun and exciting read. It takes you on one heck of a journey and you're going to love every moment of it.

Our FMC, Lore, is such a spectacular character. There's so much depth and raw emotion in who she is. She is strong and feisty yet passionate and so full of life.

The fantasy and magic in this story was very well written. This book is powerful and emotional yet fun and hilarious at times. I also like the diversity of the characters. You really get to see each person's individuality and what makes them who they are.

Let me tell you, when you see those moments of betrayal and just pure rage ... it's mind blowing. I just can't repeat myself enough in saying how well written this book was. Now I just need to get the actual physical copies to add to my collection.

A great ending! This duology absolutely gave me life! There was this constant “will they won’t they” as Lore grapples with her needs, the needs of her people, and the needs of those she’s just met. She’s fierce and absolutely amazing in every way.
The plot of these books is so well thought out. You could see the miscommunication trope coming from a thousand miles away BUT I swear all the characters went to therapy and solved any personal issues within a page or two allowing for the story to really focus on her journey. LOVED THAT!
This is a perfect read for someone wanting fantasy with romance as a subplot. What kept it from 5 stars for me was it felt really long when I was trying to read it.
So grateful to NetGalley for gifting me this ARC for my honest review on it

3.75/5
Lore's adventure wasn't as good as the first book. I felt this lost its magic and tried to be an adventure book but missed the mark. The character growth is very minimal, the interactions aren't the same as the first book (which is to be expected with how it ended) but never seemed to go back. Lore I find more annoying in this book. Finn's character is great and the prince is interesting but I just got bored. The plot line is interesting about the books and magic but the characters weren't hitting it for me this time which I'm very sad about. Overall it was an okay conclusion.

Thank you NetGalley and Harper Voyager for the opportunity to read this book!

*This review has spoilers*I have to say that I actually liked the first book a lot more than this one. I was honestly kind of disappointed. I genuinely liked the story, but a few things were lost on me. Is this supposed to be a fantasy with a romance subplot or a romance with a fantasy subplot. We pick up where we left off in Lore of the Wilds. For book 2 we spend the first 1/3 of the book on a ship going to distant lands looking for this other grimoire. Lore is practically a captive and Finndryl is there as well (I had to remind myself who he was) and this is one of the issues I had. For Lore to have made the romantic choice that she made, I think we spent way too much time with Syrelle and Lore in the beginning of this second book. I thought this would be a 'why choose' romance, but ultimately the climax of the romance didn't feel very deserved or earned? We even got this endearing backstory that made me more empathetic and emotionally connected to Syrelle. The writing really didn't make a case for Finndryl and the fantasy and lore (teehee) wasn't as strong as it should have been to make me accept the romance plot. I liked exploring other locations and being introduced to new characters, but unfortunately the main plot fell kind of flat and the conflict resolution was relegated to the last two chapters. I typically like spice, and some kissing but the tone shift from Book 1 to Book 2 made the spice feel perfunctory. I wasn't against it, but everything seemed too convenient and it just wasn't the payoff I had anticipated. I'm sure many will enjoy this, but for me, it didn't live up to the sequel I hoped for after reading the first book.

I really enjoyed this duology as a whole. However, this sequel felt kind of slow and the pacing felt uneven. Some of the lines felt kind of repetitive. I also feel like we didn't spend enough time with Asher/Syrelle to be able to root for him towards the end like I think we were supposed to. I just honestly didn't have enough time/knowledge to be able to forgive him for what was done in the first book. Overall, it was an entertaining read, I just enjoyed book 1 more.

The sequel I’ve been waiting for. Great contribution to the story while getting even better. Left me wanting more although I know this duology must come to an end.

I love this series! I read the first one and I was obsessed! I was so lucky to get an arc of the second, and it was absolutely amazing!

This book was so much better than the first book. However, it wasn't interesting enough to keep my attention going. I'll try again at a later day but for now, I'll have to dnf at 56%.

Thank you Netgalley for the E-ARC.

★★★★☆

I loved this book even more than the first book!
Our FMC’s character development was top tier here. I wanted more growth from her, and she definitely got that and so much more. The adventure we go on is so magical. I loved the new characters we were introduced to. The world building seems a lot more thought out and well executed. The action was a bit different, but so well written. This was a great way to end a duology. I’m only sad I won’t be in this world again. I look forward to reading more of Analeigh Sbrana’s work!

Loved continuing on this journey with Lore. New adventures, new people to adore and all the previous people I was anxious to find out what would happen with them. Lore growing and exploring her powers was so much fun to read. This was a book I wanted to be able to devote some time to without interruption as I really enjoy the storytelling style of the author. I enjoyed diving deeper into the mindset of Lore, Syrelle and Finn. I love how multi dimensional the characters are. Love finding out what motivates and makes each of the characters Tick. Definitely loved the new kingdom we got to explore !!! (No spoilers ) The adventures, how each of them chose to face each trial, what they chose as important to them, it was illuminating to each character. The ending definitely had me tense but then I loved that I felt everything got wrapped up and there was resolution. Really enjoyed this as a duology.

Favorite Quote: "The dark means stars and moonlight ... You shine golden in the moonlight; you thrive under the glow of the stars, Lore. You are worthy of adoration. Unveil your mosaic wings for me. Let me adore you."

I wasn’t the biggest fan of book 1, but the plot twist had me intrigued and curious enough to give this second instalment a chance. Overall, I enjoyed it more than the first but still had some issues with it. Mainly, I felt like this duology would have been a lot better had it been YA: Lore’s inner dialogue is at times a little tedious, and the spicy scenes were in my opinion not necessary and felt out of character (particularly for the male lead). Another issue I had is that a lot of things happen, but they are side quests to the main story, which made the final resolution feel really rushed and not as satisfying.

What I really loved was the setting, the underwater scenes and the trials to get the grimoire were well written and very atmospheric; I enjoyed the friendships between the characters (even though I would have loved to see more of some of them!) and I really appreciated that the love triangle wasn’t unnecessarily dragged on.

I would recommend this one if you enjoyed the first, but if you were on the fence, maybe it isn’t the book for you.
Thank you to Netgalley and Harper Voyager for the e-arc!

Lore of the Tides is a solid conclusion to this duology, delivering adventure, romance, and magic as Lore explores the world beyond Duskmere.

This sequel was easier to follow than the first book and there is so much to love. The new setting onboard the ship was fun and I loved the overarching ocean theme. There is more world building as Lore visits new places, learns about other societies, makes new allies, and runs into magical creatures. We get some fantastic new characters who quickly earned my affection. It did feel like things were too easy at times, but Lore's quest wraps up neatly and I liked the way everything resolved.

As with the previous book, this fell short for me in the romance. After my disappointment that Asher/Syrelle betrayed Lore in the prior book, he did present as a more sympathetic character but it seemed pretty clear that he was unforgivable.

I wanted to like Finndryl but the fact that he was introduced so late in the first book made it difficult since I had already been invested in Lore's relationship with Asher/Syrelle. This sequel did not give enough page time to truly build up the relationship between Finndryl and Lore before it ramped up to full speed. The open door sex scenes didn't work for me because there wasn't enough tension buildup beforehand. Also, I'm sorry but I HATED the "Good Girl" stuff.

While the romance didn't work for me, I still really enjoyed the fantasy elements of this book and recommend this book. I'm excited to see what Analeigh Sbrana does next!

Thank you netgalley and harpervoyager for providing with my first ever ARC (advanced reader copy), Lore of the Tides by Analeigh Sbrana, Publishing Date July 8, 2025

Lore of the Tides, sequel to Lore of the Wilds, almost feels like less of a continuation and more like a different book, except with the characters you know from Book 1. Out goes one love interest, in comes a new one. Out goes one main locale, in comes a new underwater world. I think if you liked Lore of the Wilds, you’ll still like Lore of the Tides even with the changes that make it feel different.

I enjoyed the story overall, but there were a few cons. I felt the pacing at the beginning was very slow, while pacing at the end was too fast. The end of the story was wrapped up in a bow too quickly and too cleanly. Also there were several questions that the story raised that were never answered. I was able to get past these issues though and still enjoy the story.

As for the romance, the open door scenes caught me off guard because I never felt like we learned who the MMC was outside of his love for Lore. He felt blank, and therefore I never really connected to the main couple. The swiftness with which Lore goes all in with her feelings for this MMC had me rereading pages to make sure I hadn’t missed anything.

The fact that romance is a central part of the story, and I was unable to connect with the relationship, brings the star rating down a bit for me. But there was still enough of Lore’s determination, fight, and care for her community that had me unable to put this book down.

Overall I gave Lore of the Tides ⭐️⭐️⭐️.75 stars

This was a great conclusion to this duology!! I felt like this book really sucked me in and the characters had a lot of growth throughout the story. I loved seeing the different areas within this world on the adventure and all the new characters along the way! I thought this was a wonderful ending to the story and had a fabulous time!!

Thank you to NetGalley, Harper Voyager and for the ARC!

I would tell people they should read this book if they really liked the first one, if they were on the fence or undecided, maybe give it a skip. I think my struggle with this book would have been less if I had the audio, but alas, no luck. There are paragraphs of descriptions, and paragraphs of inner struggles. All of that going on for pages when I just wanted to know what was happening was very frustrating, I’m still going to buy a copy for my collection though, I may get the audiobook to see if it was just a format/timing issue.

There are some books you come across that are exactly what your soul needs, and the Lore of the Wilds Duology is just that and so much more.

It is so bittersweet to wrap up Lore's story and leave this seamless world Analeigh has created for us. She has magic fused within her when she creates the landscapes, characters, love, tension, and the heartstopping peril that we encounter. Reading LOTW is so much more than just a book, it's a fully immersive experience that takes you on the ride of a lifetime. As someone who has trouble seeing what things look like in my mind, I cannot explain how insane it feels to have truly walked alongside the characters Analeigh has brought to life. The spice in this book was so phenomenally done, and the love between the characters involved is imprinted on my heart forever. I highlighted almost 70% of this book, quotes I cant bear to forget, and cant wait to point out with people as they read. Analeigh is an autobuy author that I scream about constantly to anyone who will listen, and I buy her books as gifts all the time. Prepare to be sick of me, because this is my favorite read of 2025!

This did not disappoint. What an epic conclusion to Lore’s story. It gave us more of everything….more action…more spice…more morally grey…and the book cover is just stunning. Worth the wait!

This was the perfect continuation and ending to Lore's story. There were the characters we already loved with so new characters that were perfect additions to the plot. I loved the exploration of the world and Sbrana immerses you so well with her descriptions and details! The magic is so unique and being able to dive into it more with this second book was fun, it felt like we were learning along with Lore! It was also nice getting to see Lore able to stand up for herself while the men of the story respected her decisions and her coming into her power. The love triangle was perfectly executed in my opinion as well!

My only con was in the pacing of the story as with a duology it usually is more fast paced and some things do have to get resolved faster, so of course there were just some parts I wish we could have had more time with. With that said none of the story felt lost or rushed to the point that it took away from the overall plot and I thoroughly enjoyed all of it!

Thank you NetGalley, Analeigh, and Harper Voyager for this eARC in exchange for my honest review!

Give me dungeons and dragons but make it an epic fantasy adventure.

We definitely love duologies here and Lore of the Tides and Lore the Wilds by Analeigh Sbrana did not disappoint!

The writing was beautiful with full on fantasy and magic. The themes in this book are on the heavier side but they were written so beautifully.

There’s found family, mystical beings, the magic is insanely cool, and an amazing lover triangle. There’s betrayal, hidden identities, feminine rage and laugh out loud moments throughout.

There is romance and serious convos had.... ie.. period talk. This is exceptionally important for womanhood and coming of age. I like how the topic of serious real life situations was expressed and handled.

Please give this duology a try. It's worth it!

Thanks to Netgalley for the gifted eARC in exchange for my honest review.
