The first volume has me hooked. I really enjoy the concept of two people having a public persona of perfection while their true selves are not perfect at all. It is always cute to see the female protag be flustered by the male protag because of how cool he is to her and in this book, she has two cool sides to love. I cannot wait to see where this goes and will be recommending it to many people.

I had heard about this first on twitter, and always thought the art was so beautiful, so when I saw this on here I was very excited to read and understand the hype, and it was actually really good. So I’m excited to read more of the series and se how it plays out !!

Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

This is a start of a manga series with themes of high school love about two people who are people pleasers & who are loved by everyone for how beautiful and kind they are, while they only reveal one facet of their personality to the world. The main character Otogi Katsura is mentioned as a heartthrob angel throughout the book. So the main conflict this book offers is that both characters are said to have a hidden secret personality that they do not show the world, which is just them standing up for themselves or against what is wrong and being blunt with their words instead of being extremely polite, which as a premise is weak. I believe the story in this first book could have benefitted from character background development to have a stronger reason for their personalities and conflicts

What did not work for me was how some serious issues are handled without the sensitivity they deserve like a teacher being a predator. The main character when being confronted with the predator teacher's advances tries to reason that because she is very godlike pretty, the teacher becomes more of a creep. This could have been handled with a lot more sensitivity.

What did work for me, the art style and the storytelling through the artwork
I do hope as the series advances, it continues its strong parts like the slice of life story with sweet romance and adds some more character development and fun banter between the main characters.

It's a Nice, Fun read. I love the illustrations in this manga, and I'm curious about where the rest of the series will go. I love that everything is not as it seems in this story.
I’m looking forward to more secrets being revealed in future books.

Thank you to NetGalley for a chance to read and view this manga in exchange for an Honest Review.

Thank you to NetGalley for the chance to read this. I love Manga and i never read one before that was romance i read mostly action thrilling supernatural type ones that didn't have romance or cute scenes. I thought the characters were adorable and i was waiting patiently for them to just kiss and thought it was just cute need more because i need to know what happens.

This was a great first volume for the series. I'm not one to read a lot of romantic manga, but this one was just too cute to put down. I love the duality of the characters and the idea of having a hidden side added an air of mystery and suspense about whether or not they will eventually reveal this secret to others. Otogi Katsura's perspective was interesting and funny to read, and so was her self-realisation that she was falling in love with Toki Ninomae. The translation notes were great for clarity as well, I think it's useful for first-time manga readers to understand certain phrasing. I kinda wanted Ninomae's perspective as well. I'll be looking forward to reading the future volumes because this is definitely a series worth continuing.

Thank you so much to NetGalley for this arc.
This was amazing! I’m so sad that I’ve finished it already. I need volume two immediately. This had me laughing and blushing. I need everyone to read this.

This young adult, rom-com manga was sweet, and funny. The art style is stunning, and the story line was well done. What I like the most about Toki and Otogi is that they're similar. Both are hiding their true self and only show each other. How both seem like perfect people with no flaws. That helps with the reputation of class president and vice president. Everyone wants to be them or be with them. I like that is a slow burn romance, because of Otogi crush on Toki. I hope to see them grown closer in the next volume. Also, like how shows them going through everyday life them keeping their composure. Can't wait to see what happens in the next volume.

First a BIG Thank You to NetGalley, the Author and the Publisher for this ARC.

So this has potential.
The story is cute and the characters are semi-relatable.
It does need more build-up or more tension, at least for my taste.

It is cute however and it reads really easily. And that non-date date made it worth my time, it was also very cute.

Normally I wouldn’t be drawn to a romantic comedy manga, well past Ouran High School Host Club, but something about the cover of Fall In Love, You False Angels and then the blurb drew me in. I am so glad that it did. The art is fantastic and the story is quickly funny and enjoyable. I love both the main characters and the plot so far is interesting and fun. I really think I will be continuing this one.

As always thank you to Kodansha Comics for the advanced copy to review, my reviews are always honest and freely given.

I'd been seeing this series in the Dessert magazine but only got curious about it after it won 9th place in the print category of the 2024 Next Manga Awards. The story is a budding romance between a beautiful girl & an elegant boy, both seemingly perfect but actually hiding their true delinquent-like personalities. The art is absolutely gorgeous but many of us are way past the point of reading a series purely for its pretty art. And while I couldn’t take their so-called “dark sides” seriously as there was nothing really dark about it — like at all — I really did enjoy this first volume and the idea of finding someone you can be yourself with. The story explores both characters’ feelings of not having to put on socially acceptable personas with each other and appreciating the other person for who they are. Can't wait to read more of the series!

I enjoyed this read SO much. This manga reminded me that my 5/5 feels are on a whole other level; I had to go back to lower the score of another manga review because it didn't hit like this one did.

Now let me rave about this story. I read this volume in one sitting. I then had to look up when the next volumes would be published. THEN I looked up what other works by Coco Uzuki were available. I went down a rabbit hole because I was desperate to feel the butterflies again.

The art is gorgeous. I'm a very picky manga/manhwa reader. I don't want to waste my time looking at ugly art. My eyes were feasting on these pages!

The two main characters are ADORABLE. I love the storyline of them carrying a facade at school. I'm sure many of us are familiar with that feeling. The ability to be yourself with people you are comfortable with is one of the best feelings in the world. I'm so happy these two found each other. By the last few pages, I was internally screaming to "KISS ALREADY!"

I'm all in on this series. I cannot wait to see how Katsura and Ninomae's relationships continues to develop!
I can't thank NetGalley and Kodansha Comics enough for ARC!!!

This feels like a crossover between Horimiya and Love is War and im here for it!!!

In the beginning I was very annoyed of the repetitiveness. I Understand that the point of this story is that they’re hiding their real personalities but it became super repetitive in the beginning it was considering not finishing. And finally the “big reveal” wasn’t as big as it should have been considering how much it was being mentioned. It’s giving Game of thrones, “winter is coming” for like 8 seasons but then it isn’t as big a deal as it should have been when it finally arrives. Well similarly the MC’s keep their real personality a secret and when finally something happens to make them reveal themselves to the other, what happens to make this happen isn’t a huge deal. For example no matter how nice I am if im being harassed after rejecting a guy and they wont leave me alone, it isn’t surprising if I snap and speak up for myself to make him leave me alone right? Well why was this the reason her real personality was discovered because she had enough of a drunk dude and snapped?!? (Eye roll)

Don’t get me wrong though I really liked this Manga the story was cute and the MMC was *swoon* The FMC reminds me of that one annoying girl from Saiki K that everyone was in love with but we could hear everything she though because of Saiki so she was super annoying. But because of the moments where we are able to see her real personality come out with the MMC I personally took a liking to her since its explained why she is the way that she is.

This sounds like a negative review but it’s really only one thing that I found negative and focused on it. But the story was really fun to read I couldn’t get enough I was very sad when it ended. I can’t wait for the next volume to come out!!!

Also in the beginning the first two pages of the manga were in color so I was super excited but then I turned to the third and it as back to black ink. Not a deal breaker but I was a bit disappointed :(

The art style is very cute. The story does not have that much depth to it, but it is still very fun. I overall really enjoyed reading it and would recommend to anyone looking for lighthearted manga.

An interesting first volume, would definitely love to keep reading the series as it comes out. However, I do notice that the main premise of the manga does get lost in translation, but it can't be helped and doesn't really take away from the story necessarily, just an interesting thing to notice if you understand some aspects of Japanese culture.

A new book boyfriend has been added to my list, and my heartfelt gratitude goes out to NetGalley and Kodansha Comics for providing an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Trigger/Content Warning: inexplicit sexual harassment, serial assault, pedophile, social pressure, mild cussing

"Fall in Love, You False Angels" by Coco Uzuki is a rom-com manga that delivers the perfect cozy, lovey vibe of February. I have never heard of this shojo series before and one of the things that instantly drew my attention was the title of the series. It's catchy, cute, and it invoke curiosities. I am so excited that I was able to "Read Now" through Netgalley.

Are you really yourself, or are you an identity based on the expectations of others?

The storyline centers around Otogi Katsura and Toki Ninomae, who, contrary to popular belief, are far from who they are deemed among their peers and society. Katsura learned from a young age that there are certain expectations of who she should be as a person and that people pay more attention when her personality matches her outward appearances. Thus, she developed somewhat of a double-life and, unfortunately, must keep up the facade as she enters her first year of high school. Her role as the President of the Student Council makes it even more imperative that she maintains the persona of the school's "Madonna." Enters her Vice President, Toki, and well, let just say that high school wouldn't be high school without a little drama.

This manga had me smirking and dare I say it, kicking my feet and just giggling at every little silly moment between the two main characters. Katsura's delulu lovey dovey moments were kinda refreshing in a way that it felt natural for it to happen.

The art style is gorgeous and very far from the vibe I usually pick when it comes to reading shoujo manga. The lines and features are interesting to look at. There is a distinct raw edge that somehow pairs well with the big eyes and expressive faces. I love the dynamic poses and action sequences. I also love that you get a little bit more detailed background. This doesn't overshadows the characters at all, rather it contributes to the overall asethetic and atmosphere of the storyline.

My only take is that I wished there was a trigger/content warning placed in the beginning of the book. While that may annoy some people, it is better to include it as there was a subject matter included in this first volume that can be triggering for some readers.

Overall, such an amazing read for me and I will absolutely be continuing with the series! I highly recommend this for teens 14 and up due to the subject matters addressed in the series. If you like Yuki Shiwasu's "Tamon’s B-Side" and Suu Morishita's "Sign of Affection", then you will like "Fall in Love, You False Angels".

Thank you again to Kodansha Comics and NetGalley for this opportunity!

This manga follows in the footsteps of His and Her Circumstances without feeling like a tired retread. With many classic shojo elements and a fun style, it takes a thoughtful look at the pressure some people put on themselves to meet expectations, at the cost of being sincere. Initially somewhat annoying, the characters quickly grew on me the more they interacted and dropped their masks. The exploration of genuine connection and authenticity has moments both silly and endearing, while the pace kept me engaged right to the end. My only disappointment is having to wait to read more.

Just like [book:ホリミヤ 1 Horimiya 1 |16155151] which I adore, I adore this new manga that plays off of the same trope which is that two characters discover a different side of their personas that they vow to keep secret (which ultimately also means they fall in love too).

In this one, the school's "Madonna" Otogi and the school's good looking and awesome boy Toki are pleasant to each other at school and see how each other is with classmates but when they end up waiting for the train together and Otogi has to give a few stupid drunk boys a piece of her mind, Toki can't help but appreciate this aggressive style and he's got one too. Together they decide that these special moments are actually driving them together.

A romantic slice of life story.

This was so good. I love the art style. That is what drew me in the most. Also the character dynamics, just great. I can’t wait to read more of the manga.
