I really liked this one! I love Sarah’s writing, I find it so captivating and unique! It was a really cute read!
I truly enjoy anything with a mystery aspect to it, and this was such a fun way to do so!
I absolutely loved the banter between Nina and Quintin! Second chance romances are so sweet in my opinion. I felt a bit sad that they were estranged friends but I’m glad it worked out for them! Overall it was a good read!

Nothing sparks old feelings like a treasure hunt with your childhood crush. A great mix of slow-burn romance, witty banter with a hint of mystery.

I have never related so much to a character the way I related to Nina, the FMC. The anxiety disorder she struggles with is so front and center, and the way the brain just spirals and comes up with an entire scenario based on minimal details that may or may not be true? So real. This definitely led to a messy rediscovery of buried feelings with Quentin, who is also a human being with complex feelings. Sarah Adler did so good straddling the line of the dreaded miscommunication trope without dragging it out to frustrating levels. I loved the side character of the deceased eccentric seltzer magnate, and the wisdom his story imparts!

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this ARC publication for an honest review.
Childhood best friends, second chance at something more mixed with a mystery treasure hunt.
Nina's life has fallen apart, and she has to go back to her childhood home. And she's not the only one who has returned. Her ex-best friend/neighbor, Quentin, is also living next door again.
This was a fun book as our couple reconnects and reevaluates their lives. There is a secondary storyline interwoven that showcases the behind the scenes of the treasure hunt.
Interesting and enjoyable read!

This was a fun one but ultimately, not my favorite book by Sarah Adler. As someone from Maryland (and even someone from the county where this book takes place), I always enjoy being able to visualize where some of the story is taking place!! It's like you have insider knowledge.
Now, my issues with the book takes place with the main characters. I know that romance is not THE plot but Nina and Quentin are literally like on the cover together and that always leads me to believe we will get some good romance but alas, this one missed the mark. The chemistry between these two was questionable at best but maybe I read this at a time where I just wasn't connecting as much as I would like to be.
Thanks NetGalley and Berkley for an ARC!

Nope, I can’t do it. I can’t handle books where the MC is just a total and immediate mess. I can’t. Whining about a long drive and stains on her sweatshirt? Girl stop being gross. Nope nope nope. I was excited for this because treasure hunt????? Yus! But before I even learned the MC’s name I already couldn’t stand her. Pass for me unfortunately :(

I love a good childhood friend/second chance romance and I was really intrigued with the premise of this book, child friends that have a falling out out and reconnect years later when they both find themselves back in town as they work together on a treasure map that they started when they were kids.
The idea of the treasure map is a great set up for getting them back together but I think I was expecting more elaborate discovers so I was a little disappointed when it was more about searching thru papers.
Unfortunately, the romance wasn’t convincing, the FMC feels like character that falls back into her immature ways, additionally while I understand that miscommunication can work well in books, when its done right, in this one it just falls flat and at many times it feels unnecessary.

What a simply delightful twist on a treasure hunt! I enjoyed it so much.
Quinton and Nina were childhood best friends who had embarked on a treasure hunt left by a quirky man who once lived in a castle. Circumstances tore them apart before they could find the treasure and lost their friendship. twelve years later, they find themselves back at their childhood homes, looking for a fresh start and maybe even a way back to each other. Will they find more than just the treasure?
This story was so much fun. I enjoyed the twists and endearing characters. The small town felt magical. I am also a sucker for second chances!
I recommend this book!
Thank you, NetGalley and Sarah Adler, for the E-ARC in exchange for an honest review. It was delightful.

If Sarah Adler writes it, I wanna read it! There is something so distinctive about her voice that whatever the journey is I’m here for it.
This is perfect for fans of national treasure but love romance even more. For me though, the standout here were the characters and their relationship. I ate that aspect up!
Thank you so much to Berkley Publishing for my ARC!
4/5

Sarah Adler is truly THE queen of romcoms. Her humor is unmatched, woven intricately and masterfully in the dialogue and plot of each of her books. Finders Keepers is no exception! I loved their dynamic and their journeys during a time of upheaval for both of them. It’s such a fun and romantic read!

4.5 stars!!
this was so cute & fun !! so many moments that had me ABSOLUTELY SQUEALING!!!! i started this on a plane & read 300 pages in one sitting. like??? it had me hooked.
as someone who really enjoys treasure hunting movies/books, i was so excited for a romcom treasure hunt combo & while i do wish this had a little more of the treasure hunt, i still really enjoyed it!! i love the childhood friends to lovers moment & how much history nina & quentin had. quentin is precious & i love himmmm. i was rooting for these two from page one.
thank you so much Berkley Romance & Berkley Pub for the eARc & the gifted finished copy! this is my honest review.

Second chance romances are always a favorite for me, and this one had the bonus of childhood best friends reconnecting. I loved watching Nina and Quentin remember what made their bond so strong twenty years ago and slowly work through the hurts that pulled them apart. The treasure hunt gave the story an adventurous twist, and their banter made the slow burn, …burn. It’s funny, it’s warm, and it had me rooting for them from start to finish.
Thank you @berkleyromance for the #gifted ebook ARC. All opinions expressed are my own.

This one took me a bit to get into, but then I was hooked. I was genuinely cracking up at the dialogue and really rooting for both main characters. A fun, light hearted summer read!

Finders Keepers is a cute adventure rom com of two childhood friends who searched for a buried treasure that they never found. Now years later they are both coming home after their lives crashed and burned. To rekindle their friendship they decided to start looking for their treasure again with their adult minds. All while bringing up old teenage crushes on one another.
The backdrop storyline of the hidden treasure of Julius Fountain and the readings of the archived letters is so fascinating and really brings the story together.
This was a really fun read! I love an adventure romcom, they are always such a good time. The chemistry between the MCs was fantastic I loved their banter and inside jokes it felt so real.

After loving Sarah Adler’s previous novel, Happy Medium, I was excited to dive into her newest book. Finders Keepers is a second chance romance about two childhood friends and neighbors, Nina and Quentin, who are reunited after 17 years of silence. Nina’s life has just fallen apart, and she has to resort to moving back in with her parents. Quentin returns at the same time, asking Nina to finish the treasure hunt that destroyed their friendship.
Despite liking both Nina and Quentin, I found something major missing from the characters and the narrative. While the premise is intriguing, Adler’s execution was lacking. Sadly, the treasure hunt felt rather minor, making the plot drag. A good portion of the narrative relied upon miscommunication while the chemistry between the protagonists did not even simmer. I do not mind a romance that is a little cheesy, but if it is combined with an unrealistic story and a try-hard humor, the inauthentic romance just makes me uncomfortable. These issues along with one of the worst spicy scenes did not leave a positive lasting memory of Finders Keepers. I do not think it is a horrible story, but I know Adler can do so much better! Perhaps instead of having a rough second novel, Adler simply had a rough third. I will of course give her another chance after loving her previous books.

unfortunately, finders keepers really didn't do much for me. though I have enjoyed previous titles from this author, there just seemed to be something missing from this story. the characters felt flat, as did their history and supposed connection. the treasure hunt of theirs, the core subplot of the book, didn't interest me either. much of the developments during their search for answers went over my head because I couldn't find investment in it. the premise held more potentially than it ultimately ended up delivering.
thanks to sarah adler and berkley for access to an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Great premise, disappointing execution.
Ex–high school sweethearts teaming up for a treasure hunt post-unemployment had tons of potential, but the story lacked humor, chemistry, and a compelling plot.
Casual romance readers might still enjoy it, but clunky writing and zero spark between the leads made it a miss for me.

I have loved all of Sarah Adler’s books so I was excited for this book! A treasure hunt that started when they were kids but are continuing as adults?! Sounds fun and I loved the idea. Unfortunately it did not live up to my expectations.
I liked the MMC but had a hard time connecting with the FMC. It was hard when she wasn’t positive about much and then was determined not to change. I was so sad that the treasure hunt fell flat. I was very underwhelmed by the entire thing and I had a hard time figuring out how the MMC ended up with the FMC… the whole thing just fell flat.
Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley for the ARC. This book was a miss for me but I love Adler’s other work so I look forward to the next one!

Such promise, yet tragically such disappointment.
Treasure hunting ex high school sweethearts teaming up after recent unemployment? Great premise.
A total lack of comedy, chemistry, and interesting plot line? Was my unfortunate reality.
I think this story will work for a lot of casual romance readers. I know for certain the premise will draw people in. But the writing was a little too clunky for me and I really felt zero chemistry between the characters which is the number one thing I am looking for in a romance.

This was a cute read, but a bit on the slow side for me.
I did like the ease in which Nina and Quentin rekindling their friendship and I did enjoy how their relationship progressed from there. The banter and window chats between them were my favorite part of the book and very funny and sweet. I really connected with Nina and her anxiety fears of not being able to measure up to those around her.
I was expecting a bit more of an adventurous treasure hunt as per the cover art. The fact that it was just searching through old archives made it a bit boring for me at times. I also was not a fan of the dishonesty and deception between the MCs, and it even after the truth came out they were still willing to lie to other people to get what they wanted. I had a hard time justifying all that because it was done ‘in the name of love’.
I did enjoy the outcome of the treasure hunt which I didn’t have figured out, the book just was a bit too slow for me overall.
