Awesome book. It was an easy read. Pace was just right. I did not see the plot twist coming.. I highly recommend this book!

This is only the second book I have read from Freida since The Teacher. In classic Frieda, the multiple twists involving the main characters are not ones saw coming. Thanks, @poisonedpenpress, for gifting me a digital arc copy that I easily devoured in two days (when work allows me to continue to read). There is one coincidence that I thought might have been to far-fetched (Krista meets Whitney at the diner while she is having dinner with her best friend Becky). I would love that part to have been a lot more complicated and realistic.

I really enjoyed this one! It was fast paced and kept me hooked from start to finish! Definitely recommend reading if you are looking for a good mystery/thriller!

Much like her other books, I devoured this. It was actually unpredictable for me, and I did not see the ending coming at all. I love Freida so much and will always read her books. I love the way it was written, though seeing it through a mans POV was so different for her!

Freida McFadden never misses—The Tenant had me hooked from the very first page. This one felt a bit different in tone, but in the best way possible. The tension builds steadily, the atmosphere is deliciously eerie, and her writing keeps you turning pages without even realizing it. I loved the fresh angle while still getting that classic McFadden intensity. Another addictive read that’s hard to put down. If you're a fan of her other books, this won't disappoint. If you're new to her books, it's a great place to start.

An absolute must read. Full of twists and turns true to Freida McFadden's nature. Blake Porter seems to have everything, a successful career, the perfect fiancé, and a gorgeous Brownstone home, until it all comes crashing down one thing at a time after the other. It starts with his job, so his fiancé suggests they rent out one of their bedrooms in order to get some incoming funds to make ends meet. They end up finding what seems like a perfect candidate, Whitney, who is a young, pretty girl who works at the local dinner. Pretty quickly, it seems like Whitney and Blake start to get off on the wrong foot, with them each thinking the other person is targeting them. Mystery unfolds, and we learn the truth of what is happening. I definitely enjoyed this story, and the audiobook had an OUTSTANDING narrator who truly brought the story to life. A five out of five read!

I devoured Freida McFadden’s latest psychological thriller and I’m officially unwell (in the best way possible!!!). This book is twisty, chilling, and so addictive, I couldn’t put it down if my life depended on it! I kept saying "ok, just one more chapter" until it was 3:30AM and my jaw was on the floor... AGAIN!

She has done it again, ladies and gents! Her signature dark humor, unreliable characters, and deliciously shocking twists are ALL here, but The Tenant might just be her most sinister puzzle yet! Like who’s lying?? Who’s watching??! Who’s really in control?? Trust no one. Not even the walls!

The Tenant was a good read. In general, I thought it was a slower read with a smidge more predictability. The twists and turns were not as jaw draping as previous reads from the same author.

Plot Summary
Blake Porter's life is falling apart-he's lost his job, his savings are dwindling, and his dream brownstone is slipping through his fingers. To stay afloat, he and his fiancée rent out a room to Whitney, a seemingly sweet and polite young woman. At first, everything seems fine-but Whitney's presence quickly becomes unsettling. Strange noises, odd behavior, and secrets from her past begin to surface. As tensions rise, Blake starts to fear he's invited something dangerous into his home-and it might cost him everything.

This was a rather enjoyable fast paced twisty easy - read, one thing she knows how to do is to keep me turning the pages like time was running out. l'm a thriller girlie at heart who started with Freida, so I’m always going to enjoy her fast paced, sometimes over the top stories. I thoroughly enjoyed this, however I must admit I didn't like any of the characters.

I absolutely adore Freida McFadden. She is my favorite author and never disappoints! The Tenant is a slower paced book with amazing twist and turns along the way. Freida McFadden is the Queen of jaw dropping twists!! I thought it was interesting having the POV from a MMC! I did chuckle a few times throughout the book. It is not satire by any means however the MMC has a sense of humor. I cannot wait for her next big release later this year.

There is little doubt that Frieda has become comfortable with her special style of bat -poop crazy thrillers , with a little romance sprinkled in here and there. Her fan base with be thrilled with this new addition to her list of publications.
One of my favorite things of note in this novel is the humor I experienced the first third of this this book. A nice addition to the typically dark tone of her novels.
The story kept me intrigued, knowing from the start that the character being blamed for the problems couldn't possibly be THE culprit. That would have been entirely tooo easy. I just knew there would be a nice twist and once exposed everything you thought you knew gets spun around.

Classic Freida, in the best way possible. Loved that it dropped during Nurse's Week. It felt like a mini gift to us.

I loved this entire plot. Especially when the main character is an alpha male that you love to hate and then eventually genuinely feel bad for. THAT'S CALLED QUALITY CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT! I couldn't get enough of it and devoured it in 2 days.

Pros:
-definitely did not guess the ending and was a wonderful ride. I feel like some people just want to guess who the bad guy is and it ruins the book. I did not get that feeling.

Cons:
-there is a pretty intense description of rotting with insects involved. (For the more sensitive stomach people. Didn't bother me but always good to point out)

OMG, I couldn't put this book down, as usual. Freida McFadden's stories always leave me shocked! Thanks to NetGalley, the author, Poisoned Pen Press, and Mandy Chahal for the ARC.

Another great book by Freida! Kept me captivated the whole time. I didn't want to put it down once I started. And like many of her books, it had an unexpected ending that I did not see coming!

I just finished an ARC of The Tenant and I have to say it was one of my favorite Freida books. The male narrrator was different but I think she pulled it off. You really feel Blake’s pain, frustration and his spiral as his war with his tenant escalates.

The increasingly shocking events ratcheted up the tension with each chapter so I could not stop reading!! And the book has awakened a new dread of fruit flies in me!

Overall I gave it a 4⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ but that's because I guessed one of the major twists. I think I've just read so many of these books recently that my mind has learned to predict the craziest, most unlikely scenarios. But even with figuring out the twist, I still found this book hugely enjoyable and highly recommend!

Wow Freida you did it again! I totally thought I had this one figured out and then when I was like finally you were like nope!!! You slap me with another twist that was a jaw dropper!

Very well written! Every character was well explained

Freida did it AGAIN! The plot twists are incredible and the story keeps you hooked! As having a male perspective take the lead it was a change from what you would expect and she nailed it! Highly recommended!

5 stars for Freida McFadden again on her book the Tenant. Interesting choice using a male point of view. Suspenseful and full twist and turns that you never see coming. This book is unputdownable and a page turner from the start. If you love Freida McFadden then this one is a must to add to your shelf. It will have you questioning do you really know people, and a what lengths would person really go to protect their secrets.

Freida McFadden never disappoints. Her books have the right amount of suspense and mystery. This book moved along in Freida fashion. She writes them as quick as you can read them.
