This book had me frustrated in the best way possible. I absolutely loved and ate it up. The Tenant is my new favorite Freida book!

Thank you to Poisoned Pen Press for an ARC of The Tenant by Freida McFadden! This book follows a couple Blake and Krista who come into money troubles and need to rent a bedroom in their brownstone to make ends meet where they met their tenant Whitney and from there interesting things take place.
Unfortunately this book was not a hit for me. I am a huge Freida fan and will read anything she write and publishes but this fell extremely flat for me. It felt very repetitive and predictable and didn’t give me that normal Freida thrill. :/ I was bored throughout this and just wanted the book to be over. The twists were not as thrilling as her other work which unfortunately landed this at a 3 for me.

Enjoyed this one! The usual twists but I enjoyed the male POV and didn't expect the stolen identity storyline so found that interesting. as always quick and easy reads.

Mcfadden does it again! Absolutely amazing book! I can't believe how much I enjoyed this! I read this in one sitting..I won't spoil it but you will never see the twists and turns this book takes! Recommend to any thriller reader 1 million%!
📚I was able to read an advanced copy of title thanks to NetGalley, Freida Mcfadden and Poisoned Pen Press📚

4.5/5 : I am a huge fan of Frieda McFadden and was super excited to win a ARC of this through her Facebook group! Like always, this was an easy read but as things unfolded I definitely didn’t expect the plot twist! I also loved having a male main character.

Thank you Netgalley and Poison Penn Press for the arc of this book. As always, Freida has done it again! I couldn't put it down, and finished it in less than 24 hours. I was on the edge of my seat, and I absolutely loved this book.

The Tenant was engaging and full of twists and turns. Again, an unexpected ending. I enjoyed the book being told from a Man's POV for the majority of the book. It was creative and hooked me from the beginning like most of Freida's books do.

Another 5-star read from Freida McFadden! I read this in a single day—I physically couldn’t put it down. And even when I had to step away, my brain was still stuck in the story, running through every possible twist. That’s how gripping it was.
Freida always brings the twists, but this one? I really didn’t see it coming. Just when you think you’ve figured her out, she hits you with something you never expected.
Let’s just say, bringing a tenant into your private life might be the best decision you ever make… or the worst. And in true Freida fashion, you won’t know which until it’s way too late.

Told in 3 parts, this twisty story had me guessing until the very end. Having never had a roommate, I imagine living with a stranger could pose plenty of issues, and boy, does this trio have lots of them.
We have Blake, his fiance Krista, and Whitney, who they take on as a tenant in order to pay the bills after Blake suddenly becomes jobless. Lots of tiny issues start erupting, causing Blake to take it out on Whitney. Stange events and people getting hurt around him, Blake is out for blood with Whitney. But things aren't at all what they seem.
There were lots of twists and turns that were absolutely entertaining. A fast-paced thriller that had me stumped until the last page.

Another 5 star read from Ms. McFadden. This book had so many twists and turns that kept me on my toes. I was able to finish this book in 1 day (thankfully!!) because I was hooked from the first page. I like that the POV is from a different type of main character, compared to other Frieda books. Thank you so much @poisonedpenpress and Frieda for allowing me to read this ARC!

Thank you Freida McFadden and Poisoned Pen Press for the eARC of the tenant. All opinions are my own. The Tenant releases on May 6th. I'm not sure how she does it but that was another jaw dropper. The Tenant had a feel similar to Never Lie and the Locked Door (two of my favorites). It was classic Freida. I could really feel Blake's stress and frustration and found myself getting more and more annoyed at Whitney & Krista. I had it all figured out (lol) right up to the end when she pulled the rug out from under me again. Bamn, a Freida twist like no other. If you haven't already Pre-ordered this book, don't wait! I quite literally couldn't put it down and finished it in about 5 hours. Thank you Freida for another ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read!

Blake Porter is riding high, until he's not. Fired abruptly from his job as a VP of marketing and unable to make the mortgage payments on the new brownstone he shares with his fiancée, he's desperate to make ends meet.
Enter Whitney. Beautiful, charming, down-to-earth, and looking for a room to rent. She's exactly what Blake's looking for. Or is she?
Because something isn't quite right. The neighbors start treating Blake differently. The smell of decay permeates his home, no matter how hard he scrubs. Strange noises jar him awake in the middle of the night. And soon Blake fears someone knows his darkest secrets...
Danger lives right at home, and by the time Blake realizes it, it'll be far too late. The trap is already set.

This was another fast paced and enjoyable read from Freida! I always know there’s a twist I’m not expecting, but still, she always gets me! Blake was honestly a dim witted MC though. Every tile an incident occurred, not once did he pull out his cell phone and gather evidence of any of it, which is exactly what I would do at each and every turn. But besides that, he seemed like a decent enough guy. I loved part 2 and seeing what all was happening on the other side on the dilemma. It really helped clear some things up, and I enjoyed not guessing this twist. The final twist was a bit lackluster, but still expected it, of course. All in all, not a bad read. Super fast paced and you’ll be itching (haha, punny) to learn what Blake did to deserve this!

I really enjoyed this novel. While it shared some similarities with Freida’s other books, it still felt fresh. It definitely gave me vibes similar to The Ex, and I really liked the main male character. I hope she writes more from a male perspective in the future.
The slower than usual burn worked well here and I hope she'll consider to continue writing stories with similar beginnings. Even though I had a feeling where the story was headed, I’ve read every thriller she’s released so I’ve come to expect the twists, it still didn’t disappoint. In fact, this is my favorite of her last four releases.
I received an advanced copy from NetGalley, and this is my honest and unbiased review.

If Frieda writes it I am going to request it and read it. This one followed suite for me.
In true Freida style, this one is also fast paced and the story line starts unfolded at the beginning even before you think it has started.
Differences in this book from the others. This one is the first ale POV that I can recall so the story telling was slightly different at the beginning, Of course we get a flip half way through in part 2 but truly a different start. Once we get into part 2 we see the female perspective which of course is also great but just a different start.
For me the twist wasn't as shocking as they usually are but I still like the ending of the one

Freida did again!! Twists and turns. Classic McCfaden. I devoured this book. Highly recommend! I also enjoyed Freida's quirky characters and dark humor.

This book is my favorite so far by Freida! It drew me in like I was part of the story. The characters were predictably unpredictable. I figured it out , then realized there was more to figure out. The ending was great!!

Was lucky to be given an ARC for this one. Once I received it in my mail, I immediately started it.
Honest thoughts? It was definitely better than the last book she released. It was thrilling and would keep you on the edge of your seat. But, I don't know if it's just me or someone out there as well, was able to point out that some of her books will have the same climax but different backstories or outcomes.
The climax of this one is somewhat related to one of her books, just the way things unfold. But, I would definitely say that even if it was a bit predictable, the twist and ending was satisfying. Especially the epilogue part.
This was definitely a redemption from her last book.

In true Freida style, I was completely hooked from the very beginning. The story kicked off with a bang and from then on, the chaos ensued.
Following the story of Blake and his fiancée, Freida takes you on a journey full of twists, torture and torment as they have to take in a tenant in order to keep their home. I loved that the main protagonist was a male and having read many of her books, this was a great change!
It wouldn't be one of Freida McFadden's book without a huge bombshell dropped in the middle of the story and despite managing to predict it, the shock value was still there! After this, the pace increases and the story spirals to a shocking ending. Finishing touch? The Epilogue. Always finishes with a final twist!
The Tenant is everything you would expect from a Freida McFadden novel and I devoured it in 24 hours! I have read many of Freida's books and had this been one of the first I read, then I would have rated it a little higher, however, having read many others, the twist wasn't as shocking to me as others have been. Still definitely worth a read!!

I’ve had a great few weeks with my book choices and this, by far, has left me the most unsettled, shocked, and satisfied; this is my favorite by Freida McFadden. There’s nothing more upsetting than not having a comfortable home life and poor Blake Porter has the worst run of luck when it comes to his, up until now, perfect life. The twists and turn were disturbing and this whole book kept my heart racing for the second half. Dedicated thriller readers will keep trying to guess the twists and will likely get a few but that doesn’t make this any less thrilling. Highly recommended for a quick, entertaining read.

Bravo Freida! Just when I thought I had things figured out you throw these twists into the plot. You are brilliant!
