Bravo Freida! Just when I thought I had things figured out you throw these twists into the plot. You are brilliant!

WOW!!!! The Tenant by Freida McFadden has kept me on the edge of my seat, turning pages as quickly as I could (too bad work interfered with my reading time)!! I loved the details in setting and character development. Ms. McFadden’s attention to such detail helps me to visualize the action…ohhh and there was plenty of twists and turns. Even the building of relationships and background in the story never got boring to me. I enjoyed the way the chapters switched the point of view of the characters-I especially liked the male point of view vs the female point of view of the same scene!! I definitely would recommend The Tenant to anyone who enjoys twisty, psychotic reads!!! As always I’m already searching for my next McFadden read!!!

I would like to thank NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for allowing me to read an eARC of this book.
I am a HUGE Freida McFadden fan and have been gobbling up all of her books as they've come out. Having loved the recent releases, The Boyfriend and The Crash, I couldn't believe another new book was coming out! I obviously had to read it! And boy is it GOOD! The Tenant is a dark and twisty mix of consequences, revenge and secrets... think Gone Girl meets Netflix's "Worst Roommate Ever".
The Tenant follows Blake and his fiancée Krista. Blake suddenly loses his high-rolling Marketing VP job, causing financial stress. In order to keep his Upper West Side brownstone home, he and Krista decide to take in a tenant to rent their extra room. After sorting through a bunch of weirdos, they ultimately pick a nice, quiet girl named Whitney. But shortly after moving in, things start to go South very quickly, particularly for Blake. Mysterious bad smells, a pervasive rash. strange nighttime thumping. It all slowly drives Blake to insanity, and he of course blames Whitney because it started right after she moved in. Blake must figure out who Whitney really is and why she has it out for him before it's too late.
This book AMAZING and I actually did not see the twist coming. When I got to 70% of the way through the book (which I ended up binge-reading in less than 24 hrs) I actually screamed "WHAT??" out loud while sitting on the couch, making my husband very confused. Seriously, y'all need to read this one! Freida fans will love it and all my other mystery/thriller readers will eat it! SO GOOD! Highly recommend!

This book started off slow but became engaging as the book went along. There were twists that I did not see coming! I have enjoyed reading the author's other books and this one did not disappoint. I am giving it four stars because I feel that the beginning was slow but otherwise it was a good book. Can't wait to read the next one by the author.

First of all, thank you Mandy Chahal, NetGalley, Poisoned Pen Press, and Freida McFadden for this ARC! And now without further ado:
Ok Freida, you’ve done it again…
From the very beginning, this book will hook you in. Freida’s writing has a way of immersing you into the story from the first page and making you feel like you’re right there among the other characters in the story. This one reminded me of The Surrogate Mother in many ways, which is definitely a good thing because that is in my top 5 favorite books by Freida. I love the way that the plot progresses in this one, and just when you think you’ve figured it out, you realize you couldn’t be further from the truth. I’ve read all of Freida’s thrillers (a total of 24 of her books) and I would definitely put The Tenant in my top 10 favorites. This is a MUST READ, and I highly suggest you grab a copy of this on its release date on May 6th!

McFadden has done it again. In this book, the main character, Blake has recently been promoted in his executive job only to shortly lose his prestigious gig abruptly. He and his fiancée end up having to lease a room of their home and bring in a tenant. Whitney moves in and Blake’s hellish nightmare begins. Frieda McFadden is known for her twists and turns and this title is no different. As you read, you start putting pieces together only to be so wrong in the end (all of her books tend to do this). I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. This book is also the first (to my knowledge) time that she has written from a male’s perspective, which was cool!

The Tenant is another excellent addition to Frieda McFadden's collection. Interesting characters, life-changing events, and a twist or two along the way. A quick, mysterious read that will leave you wondering.
Thanks to Poisoned Pen Press and NetGalley for the egalley copy. All opinions, brief as they may be in this case, are my own.

I won a ARC of this book through the FB page and have been hooked since the first chapter. Freida changed it up with the point of view being of a man and I really liked the course she took with it. The book is a fast read and has a nice pace along the story line. The twist? Never saw them coming. Can not wait for this to officially release in May! Anyone picking this up/preordering won’t be disappointed!

This was my 2nd Freida McFadden book. It kept me reading from the first chapter ! The characters & their surroundings are very well written. I felt like the characters were people I knew. I was totally invested and read it almost in 1 sitting ! Chapters are short (which I love) but oh so well written ! There are twists and turns I did not see coming ! I truly loved reading this book and would highly recommend it to anyone to read.
I read this as an ARC through Net Galley in exchange for my honest review.

I want to start off by saying thank you so much for this early read! I've never won at an early read before and I'm so happy to have read this early! The book was amazing and everything I expected. Every time I thought I knew what was going on, something would throw me off again. The pace was amazing and there were no bad chapters! I finished this in 2 days and every single second was well worth it. I can't wait for it to be published so everyone can share the same excitement over this book as me. Another 5 star read from Freida!

I loved this book! Freida McFadden is a must read. The Tenant had lots of twists I didn't see coming. I finished this book in a day! Thank you for the ARC.

By far one of Freida's best written thrillers. I was wrapped in from the beginning and couldn't put the book down when I got half way through. Such a great read filled with twists and turns that I didn't expect or see coming! Would definitely recommend!!

As I began reading I found myself thinking, “not another creepy roomate book.” But then I reminded myself of who I was reading. This is a Freida book, never think you’ve got it figured out until the very last page! And true to form, this one didn’t disappoint.
The Tenant has you questioning “why” from cover to cover. “Why this couple?” “Why this tenant?” “Why did it happen?” The twists and turns are quicker than the Superman at Darien Lake; an old roller coaster at the area theme park. Likewise, your empathy for the characters changes as more information is discovered. You never quite know who to cheer for. I’ve read every Freida book published and it’s great to see she can write with the same suspense now as with her first. Thank you Freida for giving me an alternative world to get lost into.

One of my absolute favorites by Freida!! I gave this a solid 5 stars. The twists got me. I put myself into the book and I read this in 5 hours.

Was a tad bit more predictable then other Freida books but still a great book with twists and turns!
(Reviewed as part of an ARC)

WOW! Freida thank you for the opportunity to read an ARC of The Tenant. There were so many twists and turns throughout that l'm speechless. Definitely snagging a physical copy of the book on release day!

I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this book! It couldn't have come at a better time= I just finished all of Freida's other books. This was a good read. Instead of crazy twists, I would say this book was more straightforward, which isn't a bad thing. I only guessed the who for the twist, not the how. One part of the twist still came as a big surprise and made the rest of the book very interesting!

This was amazing, definitely one of Frieda’s best books. I was absolutely shocked by the twist and loved how well thought out everything was. Will definitely be recommending to everyone I know!

Let me start off with the fact that I am a giant Freida fan so my expectations were very high!! This book was definitely still really good and you should absolutely read it. If this was my first read by her, my rating would be completely different. Also, If this is your first book by her and you don’t enjoy it, do not stop reading her books with just this one try!
As usual with her books, I didn’t want to put it down, it was fast paced and the characters pissed me off 😂.
Unlike her usual books, the main character was a male and I felt like I could actually relate to some of it. (If you’ve had a few roommates in your lifetime you probably will too hahah)
Sadly, I felt like the “twist” was a bit disappointing and not as shocking as her usual stories.
Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and amazing author for this advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

There’s something about a Freida McFadden book that makes me block out the real world and shun all of my responsibilities until I’ve finished the very last word!
The Tenant is no exception.
This is my 25th Freida read and I honestly have to say this is now in my top 3! I genuinely loved this story and its characters.
Of course, as always, I attempt to figure out the twist. Did I? Of course not! I suspected almost every character along the way, analysing their behaviour and coming up with theories. At one point I gasped along with one of the main characters when one of the twists was discovered.
I enjoyed everything about The Tenant and truly believe it’s one of Freida’s best books yet!!
Thank you to Poisoned Pen Press for the opportunity to read an advance copy.
