I always enjoy Freida McFadden books--actually, I was alternating listening to another of her books (The Boyfriend) while reading this one. The characters are always well defined enough that it's easy to stay engaged, the plots are suspenseful to just the right degree, and I always find I'm happy to get back to reading them whenever I have a chance. This book was no exception! It has a really great twist I did not see coming at all, with a few minor twists thrown in. There are, perhaps expectedly, a few plot points that seem far-fetched and some things that were a bit misleading, but all in all an excellent read and highly recommended. Many thanks to NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for an e-ARC of the book. 4.5 stars rounded up to 5

I really enjoyed this book. It had some good twists that I didn't see coming and I'd rate it one of the top Frieda books I've read so far! You won't regret reading this!

First I want to thank Poisoned Pen Press and Freida McFadden for this ARC opportunity.

This book follows Blake and Krista through their relationship and a down time where a tenant comes in place. I really thought this tenant was causing all of the issues that were arising, but the twist that came about was absolutely mind blowing. This is one book I wish I could read again for the first time! Just amazing!

Thanks to Mandy Chahal, Poisoned Pen Press, NetGalley, and Freida McFadden herself for the AMAZING ARC of The Tenant. If you are looking for a jaw dropping, can't put down, book to read, then this is it! Freida has done it again.

When Blake Porter, a successful VP shares his Brownstone with his fiancée Krista (the love of his life), finds himself in some troublesome times. My heart ached for Blake, he only wanted to make Krista's life perfect. However, Blake ends up being fired from a marketing firm, where he is living his dream. Until everything falls apart, and he fears not being able to make the mortgage any longer. Will he be able to find another job? Will anyone hire him? Will anyone find out his secret? I truly enjoyed how Freida pulled everything together in this book. I also found some humor in a few of the scenario's.

Krista recommends renting one of their spare rooms to help with their finances. After several devastating candidates, along comes the perfect tenant. Whitney, a beautiful young lady needing a place to live. But, when things start getting weird, Blake realizes things are just not right. Will he be able to figure out all the strange things happening before it's too late!?

This is actually the first book of Freida's that I was able to figure out. I know, my mind was blown also. With that being said, I did not get all the clues correct. Even with that said, I still highly recommend this book. I give it a 5 star rating, as I feel all of her books deserve. I have read every book Freida has written. Being a huge fan, like all her books, they pull you right in and keep you engaged. I love all of her twists and turns, her jaw dropping endings get me every time. Do yourself a favor, don't hesitate, preorder this book today, and have it in hand on May 6th. Happy Freida Readahin'⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Captivating! I could not put down The Tenant. One of my favorite books Freida McFadden has written. My jaw was on the floor when the big twist happened. I could not believe it. I could not wait to finish the book. The characters are so engaging and relatable. Easy read, easy to follow along. I was obsessed with this book. I cannot wait for everyone to read it. It’s a must read.

I love Frida, but this book was not as twisted as I have come to expect from her books. It is a lovely plotline. I quite enjoyed going on Blake’s decent into madness. Honestly who could blame him. So many weird things happen, and it is quite lovely. However, I was able to figure out the twist early on. Outside of that main twist there was only one other small one at the very end of the book. That one I didn’t see. So that helped but I just wanted more out of this book in the suspense area. I still enjoyed it however and am looking forward to recommending it.
Thank you to Poisoned Pen Press and Netgalley for allowing me to read an advance copy of this title.

Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks for allowing me to read an ARC of this book. Blake suddenly gets fired from his VP position and to make ends he has to have a tenant live with him and his fiancee in his brownstone in Manhattan. Blake and the tenant don't get along and chaos ensues. I had a hard time with how harsh Blake was with the tenant from the get go. Things quickly ramped up from a 1 to a 10 quickly which I found odd. I liked the twist that Freida came up with. Overall, this was a good book. Not as good as some of her others but still good.

Thank you to NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for sending me an ARC! This book was a slow burn and I felt like I was just waiting for the other shoe to drop… but in true Freida fashion I was hooked at the end of each chapter wanting more. I love the twists and turns… and of course the end is jaw dropping. I haven´t read a Freida book I didn´t love! The POV of the male character in ¨The Tenant¨ was unique and different compared to her others. This was my 10th Freida McFadden book and I cannot wait to read more!!

I received an ARC of "The Tenant" by Freida McFadden, and while it was a bit more predictable than her usual work, it was still a gripping psychological thriller that kept me hooked. The characters were complex, and the pacing kept the suspense high. In pure Freida fashion, though, I never saw the ending coming, which completely shocked me. A huge thank you to Freida McFadden and Poisoned Pen Press for the opportunity to read this book. Overall, it’s a great read for fans of psychological suspense and thrilling twists.

Frieda is the queen of twists, even though you can sense one coming, I didn’t expect that particular twist. The beginning was a bit slow, but it quickly picked up pace, and even the last chapter surprised me. It was an easy and enjoyable read.

Freida is the queen of fast-paced, easy to read psychological thrillers.
Another one knocked out of the park by Freida.. I will always immediately read and devour a Freida Book as soon as I possibly can. They are always so fun, twisty and have me hooked immediately. This one, as always, lived up to my expectations!
I really love how Freida kind of mixed it up here and the main perspective is told through the male character.
This was a typical popcorn thriller that you knew pretty early on not to trust any of the characters or their intentions. This was so fun and kept me changing my opinions every chapter!
One of my, if not my favorite Freida book yet! I highly recommend reading this ASAP. I don’t think you will be disappointed AT ALL!

I rate this one a 3.75 stars.

I enjoyed the male pov! It was a nice change for Freida. It's her only book with a male POV.

I did figure out the twists, and the ending twist. Which I was suprised this is the first Freida book I got 100% right!

But it didn't ruin the story. I still found myself clicking my remote to get to the end to see if I was right.

Overall, I did enjoy it. Freida is one of those readers that are just easy, quick to read so you have to read all of her books.

Thank you for the ARC! I'll be adding it to my Freida shelf when it releases because I already have most of them 😂

Blake’s life seems pretty perfect—he’s got a great job, a beautiful fiancé, and a dream brownstone in a prime neighborhood. But things quickly take a turn for the worse. To keep things afloat while he gets back on track, Blake and his fiancé decide to bring in a roommate.

Enter Whitney—who seems like the perfect fit at first. But before long, Blake finds himself caught in a whirlwind of chaos, questioning everything he thought he knew.

Another fantastic thriller from McFadden! It’s twisty, fast-paced, psychologically gripping, and just a ton of fun. Perfect beach read!

Big thanks to NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!

Ahhhh this book reminded me so much of Freida’s earlier reads & I absolutely loved it! This one starts off from a male’s POV - which at first I went back and was like “wait what?!” because I am so used to female MCs when it comes to her books, but Freida absolutely killed it!

The characters were so well described I felt like I knew them all & was watching this all play out in front of me. Freida does such a good job at making you despise/love one or more of the characters and it works every.single.time. HOW??!?!

The buildup in this story is EVERYTHING I love about FM books. The story continuously keeps you guessing, questioning everyone, and has you on the edge of your seat wondering what’s going to happen next.

This was certainly one of my favorites by Freida recently & had all the aspects of a stay up all night to finish, legit unputdownable fast-paced thriller.

Thank you SOOO much Mandy, Poisoned Pen Press & NetGalley for an ARC of The Tenant!!

As usual, Frieda did it again! Loved this book and I couldn’t put it down! In true Frieda fashion, just when I thought I had it all figured out, she throws a curveball into the story line.

Thank you to NetGalley and poisonedpenpress for the ARC.

I was hooked from the very first page of The Tenant! I loved that the story was told from a male perspective—it felt fresh and different from the usual thrillers I read. The book kept me on edge, making it impossible to put down. Just when I thought I had everything figured out, that surprise twist at the end completely blindsided me! Freida McFadden does an amazing job of keeping readers guessing, and this book was no exception. Easily one of my favorite thrillers!

Aside from the Housemaids series, Frieda McFadden's books are often a hit or miss for me, but this one might be my favorite new release from her. In classic Frieda McFadden style, the book was addictive from the very beginning, and the short chapters made it easier to stay engaged. Having a male character as the main narrator was a new approach for her writing, but it worked very well in this story. The plot was suspenseful and filled with gruesome twists that kept coming until the very end . I believe this is a great domestic thriller that effectively captures a sense of paranoia within the entire story.

Thank you to NetGallery and to Poisoned Pen Press for my copy.

Freida McFadden once again proves why she’s a master of psychological thrillers with The Tenant, a gripping, twist-filled novel that keeps readers on edge from start to finish. If you’re a fan of books that play mind games and keep you guessing until the final page, The Tenant is a must-read. With its shocking twists and turns, this novel is another triumph for Freida McFadden.

I just finished reading The Tenant. Wow! I wanted to relish it since Freida won't have another book coming out for a while. Needless to say, I was not successful in savoring the read, I gobbled it up like Thanksgiving pie in one sitting. One sitting where I was on the edge of my seat, deeply engrossed in how this was all going to come together. In true Freida fashion it had your usual twists and turns that make your hair curl without heat. I wished it could have gone on for another 300 pages to be honest, but it was a great read. I will look forward to the next release!
