The twists and turns of this book is just what I expect from a Freida McFadden book. It gave housemaid vibes in the best possible way.
Following Blake after he loses his VP job at a marketing firm. He's engaged to a woman named Krista. Well with getting fired and being blacklisted from other firms they decide to rent a room in their brickstone home. After finding someone who seems like a picture perfect tenant, things go well psychological. Blake starts experiencing issues with Whitney, the new tenant. But in true Freida McFadden fashion her stories are not what they seem. I absolutely loved the twists and the epilogue of course got me like they always do. I couldn't put this book down! A fast paced psychological thriller that reminds me of Freida McFadden "earlier" work. A definite 5 star book that readers of the housemaid trilogy will absolutely fall in love with like I did.

First I wanna thank Poisoned Pen Press for the opporturnity to read this ARC!
What can I say - once again, a typical Freida, and I loved every second of it! Read it within a day, with some small breaks - like a girl needs to sleep sometimes, after all.
We do meet Blake, who does want to marry his fiancée, Krista. But then he gets fired from his job. And in fear of losing his apartment while being unemployed, he agrees to rent the upstairs bedroom to a roommate. And that is when things start to get even more wrong than they have already been before....
Just as expected from Freida, this book comes with a fact paced story, short chapters, many twists and unhinged characters! I can not say much without spoiling the book, but I felt a little bad about how it ended. But then that is what Freida's books do to me - I often end up rooting for the wrong person, hahaha.
Anyway - go and grab your copy of The Tenant as soon as you can!

I loved this one so much! Her first ever male main character pov and she did not disappoint. It was a page turner from the beginning and I had no idea where it was headed. I loved the twist. It felt satirical to me in some parts which I enjoyed and had me laughing out loud. Very well done Freida!

Thank you poison pen press for the ARC!

This was another great book from Freida, I throughly enjoyed the twists through the book the kept me on my toes and guessing! I also really enjoyed the male point of view! Great book!

I love all of Freidas books and this one did not disappoint! Once I started reading I found it difficult to put down. The chapters ended with the need to just keep on reading to find out what was going to happen. Knowing Freidas style I knew there would be twists and turns along the way. You almost feel you have it figured out and it takes another turn! Absolutely loved this one. The ending was perfect. Well done Freida!

‘The Tenant’ follows Blake, who’s running into a lot of bad luck as of late. Him and his fiancée have to get a tenant in order to make ends meet on their mortgage; however, strange things start happening after she’s moved in.
Can he figure out what’s happening? Or is it already too late?
‘The Tenant’ has all the Freida traits that we love - fast paced, incredibly bingeable and twist and turns along the way! I’m not sure if it’s because I read so many thrillers now, but the twists don’t seem as surprising and don’t leave me with the mouth open shock like they used to.
Nonetheless, I did enjoy this book and devoured it in a few hours. Of course a must read for all Freida Reida’s out there!

I finished this in one day.
⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5 stars)
The Tenant is a gripping psychological thriller that pulls you in from the first page and doesn’t let go until the shocking final twist. As always, McFadden masterfully builds suspense, making you question every character’s motives while keeping the tension high.
The story follows Blake Porter thought his life was set—an impressive career, a beautiful fiancée, and a dream home in a historic brownstone. But when he suddenly loses his job, his financial stability crumbles, forcing him to find a quick solution. Renting out part of the house seems like the perfect fix, until his new tenant moves in. At first, everything appears normal, but soon, unsettling incidents create tension in the house, straining his relationship and leaving Blake with a growing sense of unease. The more he tries to uncover the truth, the deeper he sinks into a web of secrets and deception. As his reality unravels, Blake realizes too late that he may have invited something far more dangerous into his home. From the very start, it’s a whirlwind of twists and turns. Just when you think you have it figured out, McFadden pulls the rug out from under you.
I did find the MMC kinda unlikeable and I guess found myself rooting for the "villian" That said, the journey is still an absolute blast, and the final reveal is satisfying in classic McFadden style.
If you love psychological thrillers with unpredictable twists, unreliable narrators, and shocking endings, The Tenant is a must-read.

I was so graciously given an ARC of this title.
Another Freida McFadden CLASSIC!! I really enjoyed this one! It kept me engaged through the entire book. Good job Freida!!

I read this book in one sitting! There was one main thing that I predicted ("the who") but I didn't know "the why." It was an interesting journey to read and to get to the conclusion. If you're looking for some thrill, here it is! Even the last chapter, the prologue, had an interesting little twist to it, 4 - 4.5 stars.

I was so excited I got to read The Tenant before the actual release date. Thanks again to Freida McFadden for giving me this opportunity. This was not one of my favorite books by her. I'm rating this book a 3.5/5 stars. It wasn't bad, but also wasn't great. It had the usual great plot twist. The book was just not my cup of tea and that's okay! It was a good fun read though.

Okay, Freida. This one was amazing!! I do love a male main character in a thriller, and Blake was perfect! This is one of Freida's better books and I was pleasantly surprised when the first twist occurred and then it really spiraled.
This one also felt more dark than her other books. The antagonist is a clear sociopath but some of the things they did were shocking. Absolutely loved this one. Thank you Negalley for the arc!

The Tenant is so good! Much like McFadden's other books, I devoured it quickly. You might think you know where the story is going, but you don't. Just enjoy the ride that is McFadden's signature style.
Thank you Netgalley for the prerelease ebook.

Thanks to Netgalley for a advance copy of this book. I really enjoyed it. I felt the character of Blake was a jerk for the way he went about doing things. But he was an interesting character. Some things in the book were really out there and had me scratching my head in confusion. I really enjoyed the twist or two at the end. One of the people in this book is certifiable nuts or maybe they all are. You have to read it to find out. I look forward to more books by Freida McFadden. I've read a few but not all of them.

Most of us have had at least one bad roommate? But one bad enough to make your life miserable on a daily basis. This book will leave you guessing and following a twisted story of revenge. If you ware wise you will question everything that seems out of place, but like Blake was so in love with Krista he never questioned the things that happened until it was too late.

Wow what a ride! Every McFadden book I pick up seems to become my new favorite of hers and this was no exception. I read this book in less than 24 hours. Her writing style just gets better and better with each book. I love how you think you have a character figured out and she shows you more and more about the character and you realize you don't know the half of it! Oftentimes in her stories no one is completely innocent which is what throws you for a loop. Loved it!

_The Tenant_ by Freida McFadden is a suspenseful read that is intricately plotted with twisted characters. Told mostly from the perspective of Blake Porter, a newly engaged and successful businessman happy with his life in Manhatten, when suddenly his world falls apart. He is fired from his job and is forced to take in a renter to help with his mortgage payments, while also trying to keep his relationship with his fiancé Krista intact. Their renter Whitney seems perfect at first, but soon it’s clear that someone is sabotaging Blake’s life, and all signs seem to point to their new tenant. Fans of McFadden will be eager to read this psychological thriller.

This was a new to me author I was invited to read and I'm glad I did. This book was a wild ride! There was so much going on and I kept trying to figure out why Blake was losing his mind. That coupled with how the psychic predicted that something terrible was going to happen heightened the anticipation of what was going on. The way everything transpired especially in part two really blew my mind. Krista is a real piece of work. It was Whitney that got the last laugh though! The ending will shock you and have you feeling baffled. I highly recommend because you will not know what hit you. It had me in a complete tailspin!
Arc provided by publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Blake has it all a VP marketing job and beautiful fiancée Krista, and a brown stone in Manhattan. Until one day he unexpectedly looses his job and now he can't afford the mortgage. Krista suggests that they rent out a room to help make ends meet until Blake finds another job.
Things go great in the beginning and Whitney seems like a nice and normal person, then small issues start to arise. All of his shower supplies are empty and his cereal has been eaten. Once he confronts her things begin to escalate. A fued ensues and Blake feels like he is losing everything his fiancée and his his mind.
The Tenet is a masterfully written suspense/thriller. An extreme worst roommate ever situation. With plot twists along the way that you never see coming. Frieda McFadden knows how to write the perfect suspense/thriller novel and never disappoints.

Another great one from McFadden. The twists and turns are sure to keep readers engaged. Will recommend

This book is told from three different people’s perspectives. One is told from Blake, the boyfriend or fiancé I should say and one is told from his fiancé, Krista and one from the roommate Whitney.
Blake has lost his job. His company thinks he sold something to a competitor and they fired him on the spot but he didn’t do it. He claims he didn’t do it anyway so now they have to make the mortgage on the new Brownstown they just purchased so Krista comes up with an idea that they need a tenant.
That’s when Blake’s life took a big spiral. Odd things are happening his phone somehow ends up in her bed, he said she could use some of his things, but she used it all. And the gross one hair was in his lo mein, like clumps of hair and he didn’t realize it. What is going on?
