The Tenant is so good! Much like McFadden's other books, I devoured it quickly. You might think you know where the story is going, but you don't. Just enjoy the ride that is McFadden's signature style.
Thank you Netgalley for the prerelease ebook.

Thanks to Netgalley for a advance copy of this book. I really enjoyed it. I felt the character of Blake was a jerk for the way he went about doing things. But he was an interesting character. Some things in the book were really out there and had me scratching my head in confusion. I really enjoyed the twist or two at the end. One of the people in this book is certifiable nuts or maybe they all are. You have to read it to find out. I look forward to more books by Freida McFadden. I've read a few but not all of them.

Most of us have had at least one bad roommate? But one bad enough to make your life miserable on a daily basis. This book will leave you guessing and following a twisted story of revenge. If you ware wise you will question everything that seems out of place, but like Blake was so in love with Krista he never questioned the things that happened until it was too late.

Wow what a ride! Every McFadden book I pick up seems to become my new favorite of hers and this was no exception. I read this book in less than 24 hours. Her writing style just gets better and better with each book. I love how you think you have a character figured out and she shows you more and more about the character and you realize you don't know the half of it! Oftentimes in her stories no one is completely innocent which is what throws you for a loop. Loved it!

_The Tenant_ by Freida McFadden is a suspenseful read that is intricately plotted with twisted characters. Told mostly from the perspective of Blake Porter, a newly engaged and successful businessman happy with his life in Manhatten, when suddenly his world falls apart. He is fired from his job and is forced to take in a renter to help with his mortgage payments, while also trying to keep his relationship with his fiancé Krista intact. Their renter Whitney seems perfect at first, but soon it’s clear that someone is sabotaging Blake’s life, and all signs seem to point to their new tenant. Fans of McFadden will be eager to read this psychological thriller.

This was a new to me author I was invited to read and I'm glad I did. This book was a wild ride! There was so much going on and I kept trying to figure out why Blake was losing his mind. That coupled with how the psychic predicted that something terrible was going to happen heightened the anticipation of what was going on. The way everything transpired especially in part two really blew my mind. Krista is a real piece of work. It was Whitney that got the last laugh though! The ending will shock you and have you feeling baffled. I highly recommend because you will not know what hit you. It had me in a complete tailspin!
Arc provided by publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Blake has it all a VP marketing job and beautiful fiancée Krista, and a brown stone in Manhattan. Until one day he unexpectedly looses his job and now he can't afford the mortgage. Krista suggests that they rent out a room to help make ends meet until Blake finds another job.
Things go great in the beginning and Whitney seems like a nice and normal person, then small issues start to arise. All of his shower supplies are empty and his cereal has been eaten. Once he confronts her things begin to escalate. A fued ensues and Blake feels like he is losing everything his fiancée and his his mind.
The Tenet is a masterfully written suspense/thriller. An extreme worst roommate ever situation. With plot twists along the way that you never see coming. Frieda McFadden knows how to write the perfect suspense/thriller novel and never disappoints.

Another great one from McFadden. The twists and turns are sure to keep readers engaged. Will recommend

This book is told from three different people’s perspectives. One is told from Blake, the boyfriend or fiancé I should say and one is told from his fiancé, Krista and one from the roommate Whitney.
Blake has lost his job. His company thinks he sold something to a competitor and they fired him on the spot but he didn’t do it. He claims he didn’t do it anyway so now they have to make the mortgage on the new Brownstown they just purchased so Krista comes up with an idea that they need a tenant.
That’s when Blake’s life took a big spiral. Odd things are happening his phone somehow ends up in her bed, he said she could use some of his things, but she used it all. And the gross one hair was in his lo mein, like clumps of hair and he didn’t realize it. What is going on?

Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for allowing me to read yet another amazing title by Freida McFadden. This title grabbed me from the first page and kept me engaged til the last. I was quietly waiting for the amazing twist at the end so typical of this author. I HIGHLY recommend this book for lovers of psychological thrillers.

Oh. My. Gawd. What a crazy, twisty story! The beginning kind of crawls along then all of a sudden - BANG! The plot twist of the year award.

Freida McFadden’s The Tenant is a gripping psychological thriller that will keep you guessing until the very last page. With its expertly crafted suspense, multidimensional characters, and a plot full of twists and turns, this book is a masterclass in tension and intrigue.
McFadden’s storytelling is sharp and immersive, pulling you into Blake’s increasingly paranoid world. The characters are richly developed, with layers that unfold gradually, keeping you invested in their fates. Blake, in particular, is a compelling protagonist—flawed, relatable, and impossible not to empathize with as his life spirals out of control. Whitney, on the other hand, is an enigma, her true intentions shrouded in mystery until the very end.
What makes The Tenant stand out is its relentless pacing and unpredictable twists. Just when you think you’ve figured it all out, McFadden throws another curveball that leaves you reeling. The tension builds steadily, culminating in a jaw-dropping finale that you won’t see coming.
This book is a must-read for fans of psychological thrillers. It’s well-written, suspenseful, and impossible to put down. Freida McFadden has proven once again why she’s a master of the genre, and I can’t wait to see what she has in store next. If you’re looking for a thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat, The Tenant is it.

Oh Freida! Oops you did it again . You played with my heart… So in this one Blake and his girlfriend Krista end up having to get a tenant because Blake was fired and Krista is underemployed. After a hilarious array of possibilities in walks Whitney. She is a winner … or is she? She moves in and things start happening. She toiletries, eats up the coveted cereal, and mysterious things start happening. Could it be Whitney that is causing the chaos? Blake sure thinks so. As things start to pile up so does Krista’s patience with Blake blaming Whitney for everything. So what is going on here. Is it just bad luck that all these things are happening or is Whitney to blame? Here is where I will not ruin the first twist. But let’s just say there is one and it’s a doozy. As Blake seats out to find the truth he finds that he regrets his living situation. If only he had kept his job none of this would have happened. So dang good I could not put this one down. So juicy as always!

Enjoyable but quirky read about a couple who are forced to take in a tenant for their NYC apartment for financial reasons. When Blake loses his job, his fiancee suggests they get a tenant to help them pay the rent until he finds another job. After many weird applicants, they finally welcome in Whitney who seems fairly normal compared to the rest. But then strange things start to happen and Blake is unsure if he can trust the new tenant. Is she really who she says she is?
Lots of twists and gruesome murders....Freida at her best....

I’m giving this 4-stars “for Freida McFadden” - not 4 stars overall. That being said, this was fun! I like that she included the perspective of a male character, which she’s never done before. I finished this in about a day.

Blake’s Porter's seemingly perfect life takes a sharp turn when he loses his job, compelling him to rent out a room in his cherished Manhattan brownstone. Enter Whitney: charming, financially stable, and the ideal tenant-or so it seems. As her stay progresses, Blake begins to question his decision and his own sanity. While The Tenant isn't my top pick among McFadden's works, its fast-paced narrative made it a compelling one-session read.
The suspense is palpable, though some plot twists felt a bit predictable.
If you're a fan of psychological thrillers that delve into trust and paranoia, this book deserves a spot on your reading list.

This author sure knows how to ramp up the suspense. She gets you invested in the characters and then twists everything you think you know about them upside down.

Freida McFadden is a go to author for me. This was not my favorite but still well written. It took me a long time to get into the book but once I was in I was all in. The story is well thought out and the twisty plot flows well. I was left with a few unanswered questions though.

Mark another check beside Freida McFadden's name. She has done it again. I was thrilled to receive an eARC from the publisher through NetGalley.
This story felt more mellow though it wasn't. It had its twists and misunderstandings, complications and aggravations yet it read smoothly. I finished it in one sitting. I felt the punch was a little softer but still good. I almost thought scorpion would be the next "turtle" or "shoe". Ha ha!
I love Freida's work and this one didn't disappoint. Her stories are entertaining! I like the storyline. You get a whole different crew with each of her books and I like how she sets them up and plays it out.
Thank you for the advanced copy in exchange for my review. I will try not to rub it in too much to to my friends!

Thank you to Poisoned Pen Press for the opportunity to read this ARC of The Tenant.
I’ll admit that the book started off differently than most Frieda title, as Blake is the main point of view and I wasn’t sure it was going to work. I was wrong! Blake was an interesting character and Frieda did a great job bringing him to life! In true fashion, this book had a number of twists that I didn’t see coming.
I appreciate the opportunity to read this ARC - can’t wait to purchase it for the library. 4.5 stars
