This story clips along and then hits you with some zingers. I tried to look at the least likely character as the possible antagonist, as it seems that is the case with Frieda’s books. I still didn’t figure it out until close to the end, though.

The characters have more to them than meets the eye. I tended to change my opinions as the story progressed, and I learned more about each one. They definitely have layers to them.

I love how everything leans in one direction and then begins to wiggle its way in a totally different direction. Reading The Tenant brings back that fear of getting a lousy roommate and then bends your mind with what happens.

I have never felt so conflicted reading a book!!! I wanted to know what was next and on the edge of my seat, was surprised by the twists BUT wow I hated all these characters. There were parts that were just too gross and overall I didn’t feel like the book was super well written. It felt like maybe a little rushed and could have been more developed/less surface-level characters. Quite a lot of violence as well that just seemed so over the top.

In true Freida fashion, this book had the twists you expected they would.

What I Liked
It was entertaining as usual. It's an easy read -- by this I mean that anyone could pick up this book and understand it (I feel like it's important I point this out, because the fantasy genre I normally read is NOT easy LOL)

What I Didn’t Like
I mean, it was kind of predictable in a few spots, and around the halfway mark I really didn't see how it could realistically get any worse (like what else could possible happen lol).

In Conclusion
I enjoyed it and will be continuing to read her books as she publishes them.

This book showcases the talent Freida truly has. I had a hard time putting this book down. The ending was everything and more. And, not just 1 but 2 twists?
It did give me a vibe similar to The Surrogate Mother. But, although similar they are each their own book. It could also be due to having just read it a few weeks prior to the ARC so it was fresh in my mind.
There was more cursing than your typical Freida book. It wasn't over done or in bad taste. I thought it helped with the character development and making them more relatable in the situations in which it was used.
I can say this has got to be my favorite book of Freida's I have read. This was very well done.

Like all Freida reads this is a quick read, when you pick it up you just can't put it down. I enjoyed the multiple POV's, it really brings together the entire book. However, I do have to say I had this one figured out early on but still enjoyed all the twists and turns along the way. A few times I did question if I had it right because as usual with Freida's books you question every single character. This was an enjoyable fast paced read and I definitely recommend picking it up when it comes out!

First, thank you so much for giving me an ARC!! This one definitely was amazing and different from her other books. It did take me a little bit to get into it, but once that ball started to roll and the twists came, I couldn't put it down 🙌 The characters were just wow, the plot was something else and the twist definitely couldn't see that coming from a mile away! Fredia McFadden you've done it again!

Another twisty ride from Frieda! As per usual you think you know and she shocks you. The middle of the book dragged on a little but not enough for me not to enjoy this book.

Frieda did it again! Quick read, a lot of twists that I certainly did not see coming! I loved the main character and a male main character?! This was a fun read that I finished within 2 days!
I am thankful for this arc- I love reading Frieda books. This one did not disappoint and could maybe even have a spin off series about Amanda! Love love love it.

Secrets, lies and revenge. What more do you need to make a great storyline? (Apart from Frieda’s signature TWISTS, of course.). No one does suspense quite like Freida!

Written from a man’s point of view, it’s a bit different from her others, but it kept me switching the “villain” until close to the end. Who would have expected that??

This book sucked me in from the beginning! I LOVE all the twists & turns Freida throw into her stories. This book went above & beyond! I don’t know how she does it but I hope she NEVER stops! Now to wait for my Barnes & noble teal edition- as well as my bookplate copy! Why? I think more why not!?

As always, this was a slightly unhinged, fast paced read with several twists-- some predictable and some not-- that will leave you second guessing everyone. AND THAT EPILOGUE!!

I am yet to read a bad book by Freida McFadden! I couldn’t put this one down, finished in about 24 hours. The epilogue always gets me.

I got an early copy to read of this book, and was so excited! I don’t want to give any spoilers, but it was great. It moved quickly, and pulled you in. In typical Freida fashion, it had more than one big twist! I wasn’t able to predict the ending at all. Overall, a great book!

I loved the book, I think a lot of people are going to think they see the plot twist coming as always, but i don’t think they’re even going to think it’s going to happen like it will.
This kept me on the edge of my seat and i loudly gasped when the twist started!!
