A beautiful book of photography that takes us behind-the-scenes to great recent Broadway shows (musicals). I loved seeing these gorgeous black and white candid shots as stars put on their make-up or relax in their dressing rooms prior to going onstage or just after coming off stage. I loved seeing the late, great Valerie Harper here, as well as other favorites - a special treat was seeing stars from some of the shows I was fortunate to see on Broadway over the past few years -- such as Leopoldstadt (okay - not a musical), Shucked, Kimberly Akimbo, Purlie Victorious, etc. We also get a glimpse of Sutton Foster and Hugh Jackman (now a couple) in an embrace during the Music Man. For lovers of photography and the magic of Broadway shows -- I recommend this book.
Thank you to Netgalley and Rowman & Littlefield for an ARC and I voluntarily left this review.

This is a book for hardcore music theatre fans. The photos are beautiful, but the commentary is limited to the name of the subject, the date and the production. This would be a marvellous book for those who can look at each picture and know some more background than I do. Beautiful photos and a peek behind the scenes.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the e-Arc, in exchange for this review.

I can see how amazing the print book will look but the ebook is close enough its spark.
I looked at the photos in this book on different days, and then one more time in one full sitting.
Each time, I noticed a different detail and they evoked a different emotion in me.
These are indeed some of the most candid and intimate photos of the back stage, Broadway/stage artists that I have ever seen.
Photography and Broadway enthusiasts would love this book.
On another note, the book has inspired me in my writing line of work. The images and the subjects allowed me to think of different scenes, characters and moods.

I’ve follow Jenny Anderson on Instagram for quite some time so I was really excited to see that she was releasing a book of her photography. This contains a selection of her iconic photos and I think we’ll be a must buy for any Broadway fan.
I love the way she captures emotion in her photographs. Even through the screen of the eARC you could feel the life in each image and I cannot wait to purchase a physical copy for myself.
