Lizzie’s Little Mouse by Anne Blackburne is the 8th book in The Heart of the Amish series. Lizzie does an internship in New Orleans and falls in love with French style baked goods. When the Petersheim’s decide to sell their bakery, Lizzie buys it and opens a French inspired bakery. On opening day someone throws a brick through her window encouraging her to close her bakery. Lizzie is not giving up on her dream so easily. Becoming an amateur sleuth with her best friend Jane ,her brother John, and with the help of her cat Little Mouse, can they discover who wants her to fail? Can they figure out the mystery surrounding her building? This is a wonderful series and they can be read as stand-alone but you would be missing some great reads!
Thank you to NetGalley, the author Anne Blackburne, Barbour Publishing Fiction for the Arc book. This is my honest review.

Very enjoyable story. It provides the usual characters for stories in this genre. We get a protagonist who doesn’t quite fit the molds of expected behaviors, But through a series of entertaining episodes, the story works well.

Lizzie was the new owner of her Amish New Orleans - Style French Bakery!
Lizzie had the whole town at her grand opening, she even had an eccentric English guest a Mr. Valentine, who spoke to Lizzie about the buildings' history, asked her if she had found any old documents or antiques and even asked her if she had a dog!
Another man, a Frenchman, told her that she was a fool for operating a French Patissere as an Amishwoman!
Then, while Lizzie and her friends were visiting, they hear a loud crash - someone had thrown a brick through the window!
There was a paper wrapped around the brick said " You’re not wanted here. This is a warning. Close your business, or next time someone could get hurt."
Lizzie, Jane and Eliza cleaned up and went home - Jane decided to stay at Lizzie's apartment above the shop that night but they were awkened by screaming near the stairway and Lizzie's cat, Little Mouse had gotten out and was chasing the intruder.
Who is trying to run Lizzie out and why?

I love Amish themed books and this is a great one to pick up. I enjoyed the characters. I want to read more from this author.
I received a copy of this book from Netgalley for my honest opinion
