I tried with reading this on its own and maybe it was just the headspace that was in back. I cannot put the words together. So I put it down and then I got the audio for it. Let’s just say that I ended up really really liking it. Mish was hilarious, loved Bel and Raum then enter Mist. Ash and Eva were so good, just a few minus points with Eva, she became repetitive a bit but her before finding out Ash was a demon gave her the benefit of the doubt.

The story was fun and I liked how they were all trying to find their place. I’m happy that I stuck with it because it ended up being a good read and the audio helped with that.

Quirky, spicy, and kinda funny romance read!

This was definitely a weird one, but it wasn’t necessarily bad. I read and enjoy a lot of romcoms and I also read monster/alien romance books…this book felt like what would happen if you were to put a quirky romcom and alien romance together!🩷👽

The main reasons why I didn’t absolutely love this one was because it was written in 3rd person. I have a difficult time relating to the characters and getting inside their head when it’s written this way. I have read third person books that I really enjoyed, but I struggled with this one.

I listened to the audiobook and really enjoyed the narrator! I think Kirsten Leigh did a great job narrating, and I will listen to more of her audios!🎧

Overall, this was a quick and fun read!😈🩷 Thank you so much NetGalley for the audiobook!

This was a super cute story. The plot was fun. The relationship between Eva and Ash was sweet and steamy. The audiobook was good. I liked narrator.

This was not what I was expecting, not in a bad way or a good way, it was just different. I was expecting a Valentines Day-themed book based on the title, but I don't think they mention what time of the year this even takes place, so not holiday related. Heehee, my bad.

I read this via audiobook. And I wasn't the biggest fan of the narrator, I don't really like when the same person tries to do different voices, it always comes across kind of silly and awkward to me. At times, it felt like she was saying things not the way I would've thought they were meant to be said if I had read them. Did that make sense? I have no idea. Sorry if that was unclear.

Overall, this was fun. We follow a girl who can see through demon glamours and a bunch of demon brothers. Those made for some fun dynamics and sibling bickering. I wasn't super invested in the characters though, there were almost too many that were focused on at one time. And I think I just didn't dig our FMC...and that can impact how the book lands for the reader. But that could be a personal problem that only I (or a small few) had.

Thanks to NetGalley for the audiobook ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review! My Goodreads review is up and my TikTok (Zoe_Lipman) review will be up at the end of the month with my monthly reading wrap-up.

Don’t let the title deceive you; "My Funny Demon Valentine" is far from the smutty romp you might expect. It delivers a captivating narrative that plunges deep into romance, adventure, and the intricacies of complex characters. From the very first page, I was 100% invested in this story, which proved to be a delightful surprise!

The book masterfully blends romance, humor, and thrilling escapades, all while maintaining a cast of characters rich in depth and complexity. The character development was top-notch, with the demon brothers’ loyalty shining as a core theme that anchored the plot. I particularly enjoyed the relationship dynamics, especially the bond between the brothers, which added layers to the overarching narrative.

Eva, the bold and brave heroine, was an absolute gem. A talented musician, her fierce spirit harmonized beautifully with Asmodeus, the Prince of Hell and Lust. Their chemistry crackles with intensity from their first encounter, making for a romance that is both steamy and genuine. I also appreciated Eva’s mother, Jacqui, whose character brought warmth and wit to the story.

The structure here was well-executed, enriching the overall reading experience. While this installment is not standalone, the journey is absolutely worth following, and it's clear that the series has tremendous potential.

I found myself completely smitten with the characters and their captivating world. The blend of snarky humor and swoon-worthy moments kept me glued to the pages. The vivid imagery of sexy demons and grand pianos was enchanting, elevating the reading experience into something truly memorable. The steamy scenes? Let’s just say they were *fire*, leaving my Kindle nearly ablaze!

Asmodeus (Ash) is one of those quirky, lovable heroes who balances sweetness with strength, making him an irresistible protagonist. Eva's musical talent combined with her spirited personality makes her the perfect match for him. Their banter sparkles with charm, and I loved how Eva never backed down, even in the face of intimidating demons.

This well-crafted story enveloped me in a whirlwind of emotions. It effortlessly balances humor, heart, and passion, keeping me laughing and swooning page after page. If I ever had dreams of a demon boyfriend, Ash would be my ideal!

Each of Ash's brothers brings their own unique charm, and I can't wait to dive into their stories. "Devilish Hearts" is a thrilling read for anyone craving a delightful mix of paranormal romance and adventure. This new-to-me author has found a permanent spot on my must-read list, and I can't wait to devour the next installment in this enchanting series!

This was such very unique story!
Paranormal romance? Check.
Angels and demons? Check.
Four bickering & brooding demon brothers? Check!!
This book was so fun and humorous. I enjoyed The FMC, especially the bond between eva and her mom. Jackie was most definitely my favorite character! Overall, this book had a nice mix of comedy, romance, suspense, action, and even some spice! 🌶

This is not my typical genre, but whenever I enjoy a book from a genre outside of my comfort zone, I consider that a win.

Thank you netgalley and rbmedia
for the #alc.

I love Asmodeus (Ash), Prince of Hell. All he wants to do it play Jazz music, and, you know what, I relate. Who wants to do evil deeds when you could be a musician?

This story is like Lucifer the TV show mixed with Butcher and Blackbird by Brynne Weaver and I really enjoyed that combo.

I particularly loved the banter between Ash and his brothers. They are all just so funny and I love their dynamic.

Thank you, RBmedia | Recorded Books and Netgalley, for the ALC of this book.

My Funny Demon Valentine is a quirky, steamy, and fun paranormal romance with plenty of charm. The dynamic between the sweet, introverted MC and the confident demon is entertaining, with great banter and some heartfelt moments. The world-building is light but enjoyable, though at times the pacing feels uneven, and some parts lean into predictable tropes. While not a groundbreaking read, it’s a fun escape with humor and spice. ⭐⭐⭐½

I wasn’t bothered by the writing style or the absolute cringe of this book, it was sort of a romcom I guess. But I did not think there would be THAT much spice in this book. I’ve never read anything with this many spicy scenes and I don’t think it’s for me. I liked getting to have all the different POV, it really made it feel like different episodes in a tv show but I just can’t handle to steamy scenes. Readers who like just smut and having a laugh will probably really like this though but it’s just not my type of book.

Thank you NetGalley for the advanced listeners copy of this audiobook!

This was a fun short read. The banter and action were great. It did feels a little rushed but I think this is so more of the story unfolds with each character book. The plot offered a lot of potential and then the climax was not as satisfying as I would have hoped from a book with rich demon subject matter.

My Funny Demon Valentine is a hilarious and spicy paranormal romance that delivers jazz-loving demons, sizzling chemistry, and a whole lot of chaos. Ash, a cursed Prince of Hell, just wants to make music, but escaping to Earth comes with complications—especially when he meets Eva, a violinist who can actually see his true form. Their connection is instant, but secrets and supernatural dangers threaten to turn their love story into a disaster. If you love witty banter, steamy romance, and a fresh twist on demon lore, this one’s a must-read!

Ash (Asmodeus), aka Prince of Hell, has escaped for Earth to have a chance at freedom. Freedom that looks a lot like being a jazz musician. He meets Eva (Evangeline) who thinks she is seeing things when the man she was pining over all night transforms into a demon in front of her eyes.

The gargoyles and demon hunter, Mist, are searching for the escaped brothers to bring them back to the underworld. Ash and Eva have insta-love and insta-spice going on. Instead of being totally turned off, Eva hears him out and after witnessing more demon fights that convince her she was not having a hallucination the first time, she decides to help him.

Loved the banter from Ash learning the ways of Earth and mortals, like what even is love in the first place? I also loved the interactions between "brothers" and look forward to reading /listening to those books when they release.

Super fun, quick read! Great narration!

Thanks to NetGalley and RB Media for the ALC in exchange for an honest review. Book has been out since 2021, but audiobook is about to release! Give it a listen!

While this book wasn’t exactly for ME across the board, I could see why some would enjoy it more so. It’s fast paced- starting off a little general, more romance focused but later delves into more of the “lore”/ history of the paranormal aspect. For me, it was a low stakes, easy to follow story with potential.

This was such a fun read. I loved the character dynamic in this book and the banter between Eva, Ash, and his brothers was. I also enjoyed the spice as well. I thought the storyline was good and the plot kept me interested. I honestly am excited for the series to continue and to see how both the storyline and the character’s relationships evolve.

Enter the world of a girl who loves music and finds the hottest guy she’s ever seen into her music. Unfortunately for her, he’s a demon and the Prince of Hell with some baggage.

I loved this fun paranormal romance. It had swoon worthy males, a strong FMC, funny banter, suspense, mystery, spice and everything nice to make this read a win.

Can’t wait to read the next book!

Review 2/16/25

5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My Funny Demon Valentine
Author: Aurora Ascher

Thank you so much Netgalley and RB Media for the ARC! Loved this one so much! This was hilarious. A group of four demon brothers escape hell and band together to keep their freedom on Earth. It’s not as easy as they thought it would be. Ash is cursed to appear basically ordinary and un special to all around him. When he meets Evangeline and she can see him for what he truly is (drop dead gorgeous demon man) he is confused and intrigued. Evangeline is infatuated as well, but thinks she is hallucinating when she sees him transform into a demon before her eyes. There was actually a lot going on in this book apart from the love story between Ash and Evangeline. We also get POVs of the demon brothers, and Evangeline’s parents. What at first seems like a silly paranormal romcom read actually has many more layers, and opens doors for many more books in the series. I’m so glad they are releasing them in audio form! Also, holy smokes I was not expecting the spice levels! I am dying for the next book. Netgalley gods please bless me with a copy! 👹🌶️💕

This book was super entertaining. I enjoyed Ash and Eva’s banter throughout the story. The plot was fast-paced and low angst. I enjoyed the banter from other characters, especially Ash’s brothers. I hope they are in all of the next books, too!

The audiobook was a fun listen. It was easy to distinguish which character was speaking based on the voice the narrator was using. I particularly enjoyed Meph’s depiction. He sounded like the goofy guy he was.

Check out this book if you’re looking for something fun to read to break you out of a reading slump!

My Funny Demon Valentine is the first book in the Hell Bent series. This book is about Asmodeus (Ash) and Evangeline (Eva) and is told from both of their points of view.

Ash is a Demon who used to be the prince of Lust. He now has a curse on him. The princes escaped and are trying to live on Earth. With the curse on him now people don't see him. However, when he's at a club with his brothers when Eva sees him.

Eva sees some things and isn't sure what to believe. This book was pretty funny. Ash is trying to figure out how to interact with Eva, but also battle those who are after him and his brothers.

There were some secrets and twists I didn't see coming, and I'm excited to see what happens next in this series!
