This was a fun read. A new to me take on demons. It felt sort of silly, like a sitcom but I was there for Ash and his brothers. I will be continuing as the audios release.

I think the narrator did a great job. This book was entertaining, funny, and full of spice! I liked how we got glimpse of the other character’s POVs!! Looking forward to the next book! Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for the opportunity to listen in exchange for a review.

Honestly, I bought this book because of the pretty sprayed edges. I’m an easy sell. But OMG it was so good! It was really funny and entertaining throughout. I loved all the characters and especially loved the banter between the demons. This is NOT a slow burn and thank goodness for that. The spice was spicy but yet didn’t take me out of the story. It was a perfect balance. Thanks to the publisher for the ALC audio, I was able to read and listen at the same time (my favorite way to read). I normally prefer a dual narrator audio but this very good considering it was just a single person. I am so excited for the next book in this series now.

Book Review: An Entertaining but Forgettable Read

Every once in a while, you come across a book that’s undeniably engaging but doesn’t quite leave a lasting impact. This is one of those books. It has all the right ingredients—an intriguing premise, fast-paced storytelling, and a few unexpected twists—but it ultimately falls short of being truly great.

The story moves quickly, making it easy to get lost in the plot. The characters are likable enough, though they sometimes feel a bit one-dimensional or predictable. The writing style is accessible, keeping the pages turning, but it lacks the depth or nuance that would make it truly memorable.

Overall, this is the kind of book that’s perfect for a quick escape—something to pass the time without requiring too much emotional investment. If you’re looking for pure entertainment, it’s a solid choice, but if you’re hoping for something thought-provoking or groundbreaking, you might want to look elsewhere.

I enjoyed this. Was it deep and moving? No. But it made me laugh out loud a few times, and I was entertained from start to finish. These demons are hilarious, and I can't wait for the next book.

Having only one narrator was a bit confusing at times since it's not labeled as to who is speaking and we get multiple points of view... but I liked the narrator just fine.

While not what I was expecting when starting the book, which was a cute valentines day story about demons, it was still a good listen on audio book. The story gripped me right away, and while I wish it was duel narrated and the POV switching was a bit weird at times due to the type of person the story was told in, it was still an entertaining listen about two unlikely beings falling in love and learning what love actually is.

🎙 Narration: I was immediately enthralled in this story because the narration did such a good job of bringing the characters to life! I’m always amazed at how narrators can keep each character’s different vocal inflections and accents straight, and this book has lots of different characters and it was done flawlessly.
📚 Story Vibes: This was a super fun paranormal romance 🥰 I went in just expecting a spicy story, but it was filled with characters that had depth and growth that you see on page throughout the book. There were also some family secrets divulged throughout the plot that keep things moving at a fast pace, and kept me on the edge of my seat.

💭 My Brain While Listening:
🔹 Ohhh so we’re getting right into things? Yes 🙌
🔹 Demons, devils, and witches, oh my!!
🔹 It’s so cool how music is used throughout the story as a method to not only further the plot line, but show character growth!

✨ Final Thoughts:
This is a very fun, mostly light-hearted romcom with fun characters, great banter, spice, and a compelling story line. I’m already excited for the next book in the series 🤗

🎧 Best Experienced While: Cozied up under your softest blanket, eating chocolate covered strawberries with smooth jazz music gently playing in the background.

Final Verdict: My Funny Demon Valentine is an entertaining paranormal romance that has promise of being a super enjoyable series for those who like spicy paranormal stories 💖

I was very excited for this book and unfortunately it fell short for me. There were parts that kept my attention and those were the funny ones. I feel like it was the writing style for me as well the story just not hot the mark.

This book was a breath of fresh air!

I absolutely loved everything about it—it was funny, engaging, and hot, with fantastic main and side characters that I cannot wait to read more about in future books.

I highly recommend this to all romantasy lovers, especially those who were obsessed with the Lucifer TV series. The demon vibes are spot on—the way they want to live among humans but completely fail at basic social interactions had me cracking up more than once.

But beyond the humor, it was also incredibly sweet. Watching Ash come to terms with his feelings made me swoon so many times.

I also appreciated that we got more than one plotline. While I’m usually not a huge fan of third-person narration, I think it really worked here. Not having Eva and Ash’s direct POV but instead a broader narration that includes secondary characters gave the story so much more depth and perfectly set up future sequels.

Overall, 4.5 stars! I had such a great time reading this!

I really enjoyed this one. I chose it for this month as it seemed fitting for valentines day. I absolutely loved the sassy FMC and it gave teacher/student vibes with the MMC. The spice was spicin! There were also quite a few tender moments mixed in along with some action and fight scenes. The pacing was great and kept me wanting me.

This is not my typical genre and I was not sure what to expect. I have to say I enjoyed it and even had some LOL moments. There was a little spice, less then what I thought it would be from the way people were talking about it, and that is okay. I liked the story and the characters and will probably pick up the next book in the series. The narrator did a great job, thank you to NetGalley for the audiobook.

While the idea of this book intrigued me, and I thought I would really like it, I DNFd super early in my listening experience. The narrator has a beautiful voice, but I just can't get over the banter and writing style. It all seemed a little juvenile to me - kind of like a joke that is trying to be funny, but just isn't. This may be for you, but it just isn't for me. Sorry.

I really liked this book! It was monstrously sexy and a very fun time. Following Eve and Ash made me giggle and kick my feet at times and then cheer for their victory in the next. The twists and turns the story took were a little predictable but satisfying. I’m definitely going to get more stories from the Hell Bent series!

Thank you to NetGalley and RBmedia for the ARC of My Funny Demon Valentine. This book was alright. I prefer a slow-burn romance to the insta-lust that was going on here. The plot was pretty thin at first, but the story got better as it went on. Not sure if I would continue with the series or not.

A campy, fun paranormal read.

Overall: 3.5
Spice: 3
Narration: 3.5

Ash, a demon recently escaped from hell, and Eva, a musician, bond over their love of jazz music. Soon they are making beautiful music together both literally and figuratively. Eva just thinks that Ash is a bit weird, but when she thinks she sees him and his brothers in demon form she begins digging for the truth. She just never thought her dig would lead back to her and her own history. Can Ash and Eva find a way to survive the people hunting them and a way for them to be together?

As an audiobook and ARC reader, I don't love that often the ALC (advanced listening copy) of books are available after the release date. This is most difficult when it's a book I'm anxious to read. Sometimes, though, it works out and I learn about a book when it releases and then notice when the ALC is posted to NetGalley. I spotted this book in a store and was intrigued by the mention of similarities to Brynne Weaver and the paranormal setting. I was thrilled to get access to the ALC on NetGalley. I do think campy is the best way to give an overall vibe to this one. The setting in a jazz club, the over the top descriptions of Ash and his brothers, the way they talk to each other like 14 year old boys (not 5000 year old demons), pushes it into the campy realm. The story is interesting with intriguing plot twists. My life goal is to be a cool, accepting of all mom like Eva's mom is. There is a lot of spicy scenes, but nothing unusual, some of those descriptions felt written like a 14-year-old too. It was an enjoyable read, but not sure I'll finish the series. Ascher does have the set-up for 4+ books with Ash and his brothers. Recommend if you like campy paranormal reads.

This is such a delightfully funny paranormal rom com. Any one who loves Butcher & Blackbird & Lights Out will enjoy this series. The narrator did a great job bringing the characters and story to life. Easy to follow plot, lots of laughs, steamy scenes… what’s not to love?

2.5 stars. I saw the beautiful re-release of this book in stores and I was intrigued, but this wasn't great. The writing was not good and dialogue was cringy. I'm not sure if the author was trying for an Iced Planet Barbarian's vibe (I love IPB), but it was not quite crazy enough to meet the mark.

I still gave some stars because it was fun at points and I enjoyed the spice. Also, the narrator did a good job.

Thank you netgalley for the audio ARC. This is my honest opinion.

Fun title - enjoyed the narrator. I liked the dialogue - the snippy comments and just the quick thinking of the characters. Loved how the story developed and can't wait to see more!

I received this audio arc in exchange for an honest review. The audio was done very well. I really enjoyed the narrator and it made the experience of this book a lot better for me. This book had a lot of potential unfortunately for me it just fell kind of flat. I found myself really enjoying portions of this and laughing and having a great time and then I’d read a section that would make me cringe and kind of ruined it. I also guessed the ending of this book within 50-ish pages of starting it. It was very predictable. All in all I’m not sure I would continue the series.

I tried really hard to enjoy this book.. but it was a no for me. I thought the plot was fun (4 demon brothers escaping from hell to make a better life for themselves) but other than that, there wasn't much left for me to enjoy. All the characters fell flat and I couldn't care less about the romantic connections.
