I received this audio arc in exchange for an honest review. The audio was done very well. I really enjoyed the narrator and it made the experience of this book a lot better for me. This book had a lot of potential unfortunately for me it just fell kind of flat. I found myself really enjoying portions of this and laughing and having a great time and then I’d read a section that would make me cringe and kind of ruined it. I also guessed the ending of this book within 50-ish pages of starting it. It was very predictable. All in all I’m not sure I would continue the series.

I tried really hard to enjoy this book.. but it was a no for me. I thought the plot was fun (4 demon brothers escaping from hell to make a better life for themselves) but other than that, there wasn't much left for me to enjoy. All the characters fell flat and I couldn't care less about the romantic connections.

Asmodeus - Prince of Hell, Demon of Lust - has escaped Hell with his two brothers, & all he wants to just play Jazz. Oh & he's cursed.
Evangeline Gregory is just a regular, degular human who works at a Jazz Bar. You can see where this could possibly go, yes?

* Kristen Leigh did such a great job with this audiobook, I think her voice made the experience all the more better!

I think this book may be my whole personality now - Love!

Thank you NetGalley and RB Media for this ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

*I listened to the audiobook*
I'm pleasantly surprised. What a wild ride. I don't usually do monster/demon romances, but the cover grabbed me. I love Ash. He was actually a sweet, silly, weird, hot demon. Burdened with a terrible curse. I loved all the characters. I hope to continue their stories. Narrated by Kristen Leigh. She did a great job.

I really enjoyed this audio book and I think that it puts a different perspective on demons. Usually they are portrayed as evil and while there is still some mention of how awful these 4 demons are, their actions prove otherwise. It was fun to get a different side to Hell's most ruthless demons! I completely empathize with them wanting to escape from hell to become something more.

I enjoyed Ash and Eva's relationship together and how they bonded over their love of music. With Ash not having any concept of human emotions thanks to his curse, he slowly starts to understand Eva's perspective on the world.

I thought adding in Eva's family was an interesting aspect to this book as these kinds of book usually focus on the two main characters. I loved getting all of the details about Eva's parents and learning about Ash's brothers. I thought it was so cute when Eva's mom was bonding with all of the demon brothers and having them do chores and behave themselves. Eva's father has some huge secrets that he has kept from the family and at points I strongly hated him as a character. He does redeem himself towards the end of the book though. Thank you to Netgalley, RBmedia, and Aurora Ascher for an ARC of this audiobook. This review is my own honest opinion. I already have this beautiful deluxe edition on my bookshelf, and I can't wait to add the sequels when they are released!

My Funny Demon Valentine by Aurora Ascher is an absolute delight! I loved listening to this on audiobook. I thought the narrators added to the story and added so much whimsy and added drama, character and aliveness to the story. It's twisted, hilarious and steamy. Its full of action, and there's a prince of hell and suspense and lots of drama and you just have to go into it with an open mind and blindly, honestly youll have a blast and with the audibook? so much more interactive!

This was such a fun read. There were several moments I laughed outloud. The characters were all hilarious, sweet, and lovable. If you're into paranormal romance definitely give this one a chance.

This experience reminded me of my fondness for some of Christopher Moore’s series, particularly the “Bloodsucking Fiends” and the “Grim Reaper” collections. I found the humour and storyline combined with the delightful absurdity it presents, thoroughly enjoyable and it made for a fun little break in-between high fantasy and my recent heavy reads. I cannot wait for more entries in the series so I can continue to laugh at the brotherly banter, but more importantly to see the direction taken in this story.

The audiobook made a large difference for me. I loved listening to the banter as I did daily tasks.

This book was a cute and funny romance with a few really great lines. I enjoyed it and the narrator did a good job. I feel like a lot of the plot was a bit cliché and predictable at times. I was more into the book early on and sort of lost interest towards the end. Jackie and Thaddeus are the best support characters, and the demons all had distinct personalities. But I feel like there was that little something extra that was missing and prevented this book from being a full 4 stars. I also feel like the Eva was a bit cookie-cutter personality wise. But still, a fun listen and if you want a mostly light-hearted, fun, demon romance book to listen to, you might enjoy this one!

I read this book as a physical copy when it was first released and absolutely loved it—the writing, the banter, and the main couple’s relationship were fantastic.
Now, I’m giving it a try as my first-ever audiobook. Unfortunately, I’m not enjoying it as much. I’m not sure if it’s the narrator or just the audiobook format itself, but it feels a bit flat to me.

My Funny Demon Valentine was such a fun book! It has everything packed into it romance, banter, spice, adventure, and compellingly complex characters.

I fell instantly in love with ALL the characters because they were all so different but still interesting. The writing itself was amazing and very well done it drew me into the story. The spicy bits were *chefs kiss* but didn’t draw away from the plot which is always nice. I can’t wait for the next book!

I enjoyed this book but didn’t love the narration. I think I would have enjoyed this book more without audio. It was fun read that was definitely different than other demon books. Ash’s character did seem a little bland and I wish this was in 1st person POV to get more depth from him. I would be interested in the next book of this series though!

My Funny Demon Valentine follows Evangeline Gregory, a musician in Montreal, as she has a chance encounter with a handsome man, Asmodeus, who just happens to be a demon trying to escape Hell. Eva immediately falls for Ash and the chaos that ensues for both of them is world-changing for each of them. You can expect themes like insta-love and demons pretending (and failing) to be human while they adjust to the modern world.

This book unfortunately just did not work for me - I struggled with how the characters all spoke with each other and felt it was repetitive and skewed teenager-y. When Ash talks with Eva while he's still pretending to be human, he’s bad at lying about where he’s from and all of the aspects of himself that are demon-related. There is a lot of telling without showing in the book, and some of the exposition was fun - like having Eva's parents talk to each other about demons - it just felt like a lot of the book could have been tightened up to have the events unfold in a way that brought the reader along for the ride better. I did listen to this as an audiobook and the reading felt rather flat as well.

Thank you very much to NetGalley and to Recorded Books for the advanced copy.

4.8⭐️ for the narration.
5⭐️ for the story.

🖤 Story review: I absolutely freaking loved this!! It was so much more than I thought it be. This was a complete impulse mood read pick that I discovered on NetGalley. It was cozy, easy to get into, hilarious, heartwarming, engaging the entire time. Never once did I lose interest. It had everything I wanted. I giggled, blushed, cried, was full of rage, was on the edge of my seat and when a book makes me feel so much like that, that’s how i know it’s gonna be a 5 star. The characters are my babies and I will protect them with my life. Yes, including the jacked, tatted from head to toe and pierced up demon brother😂. I love the complexities of all of them, how they’ve grown and how I’m sure they will continue to grow in future books. 🫶🏼 Truly the best time. I can’t wait for the next one!

🖤 Narration Review: Now, I’m usually not a big fan of single person narration in romance, but Kirsten Leigh did a bloody good job. She gave each character their own distinct different voice, matching each of them well. Yet very naturally and subtly flowed between them. The tone and emotion and pacing of her voice always matched the story. There was not an ick be found. Not even during the absolutely delicious spicy scenes. Some audiobooks you can fill a disconnect when the narrator doesn’t match the story, but this was not the case. The only problem I had was at the very start when I was a bit confused because it starts out with a scene of our 4 demon brothers and wasn’t keeping track of who was who but that’s not really a critique of the narration or the story, that’s more just a normal thing to happen since the story had only just started😆. For the most part, I had no problems with it.👏🏼

Thank you so much to @NetGalley and @recordedbooks for this audiobook arc in exchange for an honest review 😊

Cute story with some good characters and a good story. Some funny moments and some action made this a quick read I enjoyed Eva and Ash and their connection through music. The plot was pretty solid but there were just s few hiccups that made it less enjoyable. Without giving anything away I was confused by Eva’s mom and her actions throughout the book. I really liked her character but I was left scratching my head. The story seemed a little clunky at times and lacked flow. Overall a decent read—not great but not terrible either.

I loved the humor between the demon brothers. Asmodeus aka Ash and his brothers have escaped Hell and trying to enjoy their freedom before the Hunter comes after them. Ash was cursed thousands of years ago to be seen as nothing, but when he went to a bar and heard Evangeline playing music, he felt seen. Evangeline was drawn to Ash from the very first night. Their chemistry is on fire, but something is still not right. Evangeline could have sworn she saw Ash with wings and horns.

I enjoyed Ash and Evangeline's connection and seeing how they discovered more of each other. Evangeline is quickly thrown into the world of Ash and his 3 demon brothers, leading to even more twists and turns in the book. I couldn't put the book down and I am excited to read the next book in the series.

Thank you RBmedia for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

This book was so silly and I ate it up. I didn't know much going in. Just that the name was silly and the cover was pretty. It's what every reader thinks they would be like if they were in Eva's position. It was just silly enough to keep me engaged and the smut scenes were pretty good as well. I will say for the audio book you have to pay attention a little more. Kirsten Leigh is great but she doesn't change her voice much and there are times in the chapters we switch perspectives. It can get a little confusing for a minute but normally I could figure out who's head we were in within a minute or two. Also I love her mom. I would hate it if Jackie was my mother but I loved it for her! Overall this was a silly, fun, quick read!

my funny demon valentine by @aurora.ascher.author
This one has been on my radar and when I got the audio approval via @netgalley I knew it was time! This was was such a cute and fun time lol. Even though there were demons and hall and fallen angels, it was funny and cute! Ash and his band of demon brothers have escaped hell … and walk into a jazz bar lol it’s like the perfect set up for a good joke 🤣 everything changes when a musician, Evangeline, sees him and really SEES him. There’s steamy pianos and family secrets and hilarious demons, who I honestly can’t wait to see where their stories take them loool. It was such a great time and I think sets up the series so well!

*** 3.5 stars ***

I’ll be honest I just struggled to get over the whole hair down to his bum with and it just gave me a constant state of ick … and then the his brothers are details at some points and I just cringed so hard. They clearly aren’t my type and any book that has a man with long hair especially past their chin is a big no go for me and I just simply can’t get over it I’m sorry.

I ended up actually really liking all the brothers at the end and loved that she had these four demon protectors who are like little teenagers and just enjoying the simple things in the world. I also liked Eva and Ash were also very cute together and I liked how they fit together so well I thought that was lovely.

I liked the plot of this and it’s typically not something I’d usually pick up to read or have much interest in but I did like the whole demon, angel, magic aspect to it and it was nice to try something different

The twist was also good, I did sort of guess the direction it was going but I thought it was really enjoyable.

Cute and witty. I loved the banter and all of the demon boys. I cannot wait to read the next. This had been in my TBR for so long and I'm very happy I got to listen to the audiobook. The narrator was fantastic and did not overdo it when lowering her voice for the male characters. Lovely job.
