This important book examines the role and complicity of German big business in the Nazi regime. What is particularly chilling about this book, is some of the same governmental moves that happened by Hitler, is happening today under Trump -- corporations who are quickly pre-emptively erasing their DEI policies or agreeing to settle suits (law firms, media, universities). The answer is not clear -- were those in charge in agreement with Hitler's anti-Semitism and hate - at first, this was downplayed until later they were told to fire any Jewish executives or board members and replace with Hitler loyalists. Or even knowingly employed Jewish slave labor in their factories. There is a range of complicity that happened and only recently are some of these big corporations willing to admit the truth about their history. This is a book that tells about an important history that we did not know a lot about until recently and is a cautionary tale for all of us in today's times. A must read!
Thank you to Netgalley and Cambridge University Press for an ARC and I voluntarily left this review.

A very detailed assessment of Big Business' involvement in the war and the Holocaust. I was particularly impressed by the focus on specific firms involved in war crimes and profiteering. A worthy contribution to the historiography of institutional reinforcement of the tragedies of WWII
