The first woman U.S. President is impeached in an international conspiracy to destroy her. She’s the target of an assassination attempt to kill her. She’s a U.S.-born Mexican-American whose family background is both historic and criminal. She’s what Kirkus Reviews calls “An enthralling protagonist at the heart of a gripping tale.” Best selling author Lawrence De Maria says, “It wasn't that long ago when a plot like this would seem far-fetched. No more!” This thriller skims the surface between fiction and reality, told by an author who spent decades immersed in the tense and turbulent world of high stakes politics. The Latina President is suspenseful, topical, important. And it’s one hell of a good read.

One helluva read. Loved it from start to finish. Will recommend to others.

Thanks to NetGalley and Gold Standard Publications for the digital copy of this book; I am leaving my review voluntarily.

Originally released in 2016 before the election, The Latina President... reveals many parts of the election process and how our country is run. If anything, it shows why and how it's so hard for women in the United States to become successful and powerful in the world of politics. All the scheming and backstabbing and abject misogyny in the country is played out in this book, and it's just so depressing to read.

It's a very good book, but what's going on in it seems quaint compared to what's happening in the United States today.
