I sure do love me a cowboy romance, and Bailey Hannah never disappoints! Change of Hart had everything I crave including angst, second chances, and a cowboy who’s down BAD for his girl. I devoured this book and I loved returning to Wells Ranch!
🤠 Angsty, emotional, and spicy – the perfect blend for an addictive read
💔 Second chance childhood lovers – their chemistry is undeniable, and the heartbreak is real
📖 Dual timeline done right – seeing Denver and Blair’s friendship blossom into love made their present day distance even more heartbreaking and heartwarming. 14 years apart? BRUTAL. But after the reveal? I got it.
🥹 Denver Wells = the ultimate playboy turned devoted man – from the second Blair stepped back into his life, he was done. Watching him prove himself over and over, even when she pushed him away, melted me. These two were soulmates, and I was rooting for them the whole time.
❤️ Alzheimer’s representation – the way Blair took care of her mom was so touching, and I really appreciated how Bailey Hannah handled this aspect with care and realism.
💪 Blair was the eldest daughter to her core – strong willed, fiercely independent, carrying way too much on her shoulders, not ever wanting to ask for help. I felt that DEEPLY. Watching her finally let her guard down and allow Denver to share her burdens? It was so perfect.
🔥 The spice was NEXT LEVEL – My god, the mouth on BOTH of them had me absolutely flustered. Blair praising Denver and calling him a good boy? Yeah, that completely rewired my brain.
Give me second chance romances with hot cowboys all day, every day, and I will be a happy girl. This series has been one hit after another, and Change of Hart was no different. It had everything I love—dual timeline, hot cowboy, emotional moments, supreme spice, and the "it's always been you" vibes I crave. I can’t recommend it enough!
Thank you to NetGalley, Bailey Hannah, and Dell for the eARC of this book.

I freaking adored this book. It's angsty, it's swoony, and it has such great banter. I was so dang close to crying many many times, Bailey truly pulls you through the ringer with this one. Denver wells is truly THE MAN.

4.5 stars! I hadn't read any of the other books in the series or by this author before and was pleasantly surprised. Even though second chance romances aren't my favorite, I love small town/cowboy romances, so I took a chance on this book. For me, this book really balanced the past with the present perfectly! In other second chance romances I've read, there either isn't enough of the past relationship or there isn't enough in the present tense. Because of this balance and the great writing, I was completely bought in and believed Denny and Blair are meant to be. Compared to other childhood sweethearts to strangers second chance romances, I actually didn't hate the conflict that ended their relationship the first time around. This book had heartbreak, great character growth, "it's only been you", lots of angst, found family and spice that was based in emotional connection and small amounts of comic relief. I definitely want to read the first two books in the series now and will read future books by this author!
Thanks to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine for the e-arc in exchange for my honest review and for introducing me to this author!

Y’alllll I am NOT well after finishing this! Blair and Denny 😭😭😭 They’re just everything!! Their young love is perfect and heartbreaking. They have been THROUGH IT! I love that while they had been apart for 14 years, in their hearts they were still with each other. Even through the heartache. I loved the current timeline and story, I love that Denny knows exactly how to care for and take care of Blair. This book was heartbreaking and healing at the same time. As you can tell, I loved everything about it!
*I received this book as an ARC through netgalley*

This book was emotionally HEAVY but in such a good way.
Some 5 star reads are just vibes only but I can tell that this will be a story that sticks with me. I cried multiple times while reading and still felt satisfied and content after it was over. Denver and Blair have the most heart-wrenching story but it is beyond worth picking this up.
I’m typically not into dual-timeline books but this one was done SO WELL. All of the flashbacks tie in so seamlessly with the current time that it doesn’t feel jarring or overwhelming like they usually do to me, and I am VERY impressed with how well Bailey threaded the timelines together.
If you need a good cry, a Five-Star read, & are willing to risk going into a book slump, pick this baby up!
It does handle several very heavy topics so definitely make sure to peek at the trigger warnings.
I received this book as an ARC and this is my honest opinion

This book was fantastic! A great addition to the series. I loved that so much if the story also revolved around Blair’s mother and caretaking for her—but then Denny steps in a fills the role of caretaker after previously missing out.

Okay, so this book was cute and fun! The childhood lover to not being together back to lovers is probably one of my favorites cause the dual timeline sets it up in such a good way!
These characters didn’t really have a 32 year old feel like I would think they’re 25 or something. Not to say that 32 year olds can’t have fun but at some points they use vocabulary that I don’t even use.
All things considered, it’s a cute ass cowboy romance!! I need more barrel racing romances

Received as an ARC.

Change of Hart is the kind of romance that’ll make you want to curl up with a cup of coffee (or wine, we’re not judging) and lose yourself in a small town love story that’s equal parts sweet and swoony with just the right amount of spice. This book is the perfect blend of charm, heart, and a little ✨something extra✨ that’ll keep you turning pages long into the night.
Denver is the kind of hero who sneaks up on you. He’s got that brooding, a-little-bit-rough-around-the-edges vibe that you can’t help but fall for. And then when he lets down his walls? Heart eyes, everywhere. The chemistry between him and Blair is electric, with plenty of snappy banter and tension that makes you want to yell, “Just kiss already!” But when they do? Oh boy, it’s worth the wait.
What makes Change of Hart stand out for me is that it’s not just about the romance (though, don’t get me wrong, it delivers). It’s also about trust, healing, and figuring out how to take a leap of faith when it feels easier to stay safe. The small town setting adds a cosy, homey feel, and our much loved supporting characters are the kind you wish you could grab a drink with. They’re quirky, lovable, and the kind of people you’d invite to a BBQ just to hear the most recent town gossip.
If you’re looking for a romance that’ll give you all the feels, plus a healthy dose of laughs and steamy moments. Then Change of Hart is your new go-to. It’s the kind of book that leaves you smiling like an idiot long after you’ve finished, although I did also ball my eyes out at times…..so there’s that. Enjoy!!!! 😉

Let me just tell you this one pulls at the heart strings! I cried several times. The things these two have gone through, and how I felt the emotion so deeply!
Denver and Blair were childhood best friends turns high school sweethearts turned heartbreaking ex’s. Blair returns home to take care of her mom, and it is inevitable she runs in to Denver. They haven’t spoken in years and both still raw from that last encounter. One thing Denver know is that he will not let Blair get away this time.
Denver is persistent in the most lovable way. All he wants to do is take care of his best girl Blair. He is devoted and he just puts a big smile on my face. Blair is strong and has a hard time accepting help. She is witty and caring. I loved seeing her learn to trust again and let those walls down.
This series has me hooked!!

WOW wow wow. This is Bailey’s best work yet! Denny & Blair’s story had everything and I mean EVERYTHING I could want out of a contemporary. I absolutely loved the dual timeline, the placement of the flashbacks were so well placed throughout the story. Denny?? DENVER WELLS?? THE MAN THAT YOU ARE!!!! I loved that this story was two people who were young and both made mistakes, I love the healing journey they BOTH went on, I love the no 3rd act break up, and I was absolutely emotionally obliterated by this story. My fav Wells Ranch couple hands down. 😭😭

Change of Hart - Bailey Hannah
Available May 27
Denver Wells took this series to a whole new level for me. He is top ten book boyfriend material. This man is down bad and he will do anything to right the wrongs of his past and win his high school sweetheart back. This man literally crawls to her. 😍
This book is dual timeline and so you get to follow young love, loss, heartbreak, and current day trust, honesty, and forever love.
Bailey Hannah did a great job touching on some sensitive topics and handled them with the utmost care.
Be sure to check out Alive and Wells and Seeing Red in this series as well as they are both top reads.

Bailey Hannah’s Change of Hart is a heartfelt second-chance romance that explores love, loss, and the sacrifices we make for the people who matter most. Denver “Denny” Wells has spent the last fourteen years avoiding commitment, drowning his pain in meaningless flings after losing the love of his life at eighteen. He swore he’d never love again, refusing to risk the heartbreak that nearly destroyed him. But when Blair Hart returns to Wells Canyon to care for her ailing mother, Denny sees his chance to make things right. Blair has put her own life on hold to support her family, taking a job at the local doctor’s office while helping her father care for her mother, who has been diagnosed with dementia. The last thing she needs is Denny Wells waltzing back into her life. Seeing him again at the rodeo stirs up old feelings she thought she had buried. While her heart longs for him, her mind reminds her of the heartbreak he caused all those years ago—and the long list of women who have filled the void in her absence. As the two reconnect, Denny works tirelessly to prove that no one has ever meant as much to him as Blair. But Blair struggles with the weight of their past. Can she truly trust him again? Can she accept the man he has become, despite his complicated history?
Blair is a deeply relatable character, embodying the sacrifices so many women make for their families. She’s been asked to give up her dreams before, and she refuses to make that mistake again. Her insecurities about Denny’s past are raw and real, making her journey toward forgiveness and self-acceptance all the more compelling. Meanwhile, Denny’s emotional depth and growth shine through. Beneath his cowboy charm is a man shaped by loss—the death of his mother, his father’s abandonment, and the years he spent trying to numb his pain. But love has a way of changing a person, and for the first time in years, Denny realizes that he’s the one who has to sacrifice now—because Blair has given up enough for him already.
In conclusion, I gave this book 5 stars because with a blend of emotional intensity, sizzling chemistry, and small-town charm, Change of Hart is more than just a second-chance romance—it’s a poignant exploration of love, loss, and the strength it takes to trust again. Bailey Hannah masterfully crafts a story that tugs at the heartstrings, delivering moments of deep emotional resonance alongside the undeniable spark between Blair and Denny. The tension between them is palpable—rooted in years of unresolved feelings, heartbreak, and the weight of choices they made as teenagers. Their journey back to each other is not just about rekindling passion but about finding the courage to heal old wounds and embrace the possibility of a future together.

I absolutely devoured this. I truly loved both characters. This story was really relatable while also being a fairytale coded second change romance.
Blair, the eldest daughter who carries everyone else’s burdens on her shoulders. She moves back home to help care for her mother after being away for 14 years. The ugly thing about small towns is you can’t hide from your childhood love.
Denver, the baby brother and playboy of Wells Ranch… Until the love of his life throws him off a horse (literally). He’s willing to do whatever it takes to gain back her trust and get her back.
With the dual timeline - we deal with quite a bit of grief and around 80% it was difficult for me to wrap my head around the decision that was made. Though I understand and support it, it was abrupt. It wasn’t handled in the best way (in my opinion) BUT I have to remember they were 18 at this time. That’s the only reason this isn’t a 5 star for me.
Despite my own personal feelings about it, I’m happy with the overall ending.
This series is one of my favorite and I love the found family. Whose story will be next? 🤔
“There’s no moving on from you. Not then, now, ever.”
“Not like that. Show me you deserve a taste. Crawl.”
“Baby, this is definitely not the time or place to be praying.”
“You call, I come. Always.”
“I was always coming back to you, Denver. No one else has ever felt like home.”

Thank you net galley & Bailey Hannah for the arc 🍦

Stick a fork in me, folks. Bailey killed me in all the best ways with this one.
THIS is how you do second chance romance. The angst.. the tension.. the gut wrenching flash backs that make you cry in the middle of a parking lot.. and the overwhelming love that exists despite it all between two people who are destined to be soul mates.
With every book Bailey writes, it quickly becomes my new favorite. If you catch me sporting a Wells Ranch brand in my skin, mind your business.

WOW. Just--WOW. Reluctant lovers? Second chance romance, I was a sucker for this book no questions asked. I read this book knowing full well that Bailey was going to blow it out of the park and let me tell you, SHE DID. I am so in love with Blair and Denver, this book was heartbreaking and beautiful in the same moment. I loved it literally so much.

Blair Hart is returning to a place she has went out of her way to avoid for years, and if it wasn't for her mother falling ill she probably wouldn't be setting foot in Wells Canyon at all. It's a place that holds a lot of old hurts and bad memories for her, memories she has spent half her life trying to forget. But when family calls you do whatever it takes...
Change of Hart is an emotional second chance romance that is destined to have you swept up in it's words and feeling all the feels by the first chapter! The pages of this one introduce us to former couple Denver and Blair and it doesn't take long to see why they belong together. They have immediate and all feeling chemistry, but they also have a lot of baggage to sort through and that's where things hit a snag. Forgiveness comes hard for these two and they fight what is happening between them... but eventually they learn that the heart always gets what it wants. It's persistent like that!
This book was my introduction to this author and it had me wondering why I hadn't heard of her before, I am happy to see that there are other books in this series, I cannot wait to read them too! Her well penned words entertained, touched my heart, and left me aching for more when the last page found me... and in my book it doesn't get better than that! Highly recommend this one, it's a can't miss western romance that comes with a cowboy destined to still your heart!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, via NetGalley request, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.

Second Chance Love, Small Hometown, Western Contemporary Romance with spice!
I loved this story, Blair and Denver stole my heart from the very beginning. Their relationship withstood the hands of time and heartbreak. Healing from grief and pain, it was beautiful to see how the story developed and the characters evolved.
Blair coming back home to help with her mother, who has Alzheimer’s. Having to face her past and the boy who stole her heart and crushed it at the tender age of 18.
Denver, instead of dealing with the past, he drank and slept his way through it. No one realizing the pain he felt from losing Blair so shortly after his own loss.
These two had to face the past while learning who they were now, after 14 years. I highly recommend this book and series.

ARC REVIEW!!
This book was so perfect to me I loved every single second of reading it and when I wasn’t reading it was the only thing on my mind. The second chance trope was written so perfectly it gave me such a perfect angsty feeling while also having so much fluff to make it all so much better! I loved the flashbacks to when they were younger and falling in love it was so cute and made the second chance that much sweeter. This did have me crying multiple times it was pulling on all my heart strings but I loved. Bailey Hannah you did it again definitely her best book so far i absolutely recommend!!!

I received this as an arc on NetGalley! Thank you Bailey Hannah and NetGalley! This second chance love between Blaire Hart and Denver Wells. Blaire Hart returns to town after finding out her mom has Alzheimer’s Disease. Blaire has refused to return to Wells Canyon after unexpected Breakup between Denver wells ( her first love)and her . 14 years pass and it as time had never passed between the two. Will the past break them?
I loved this story!! Such a great read , had me kicking and screaming the whole time.

A heartwarming second chance story for a childhood friends to lovers pair that will resonate with so many people
