I’m so happy to be back at Wells Ranch! Blair and Denver’s story was heartbreaking and beautiful and it had me going through all the emotions. The way Denver loved Blair, even when they were apart for 14 years was so sweet!
Denver and Blair were childhood best friends and high school sweethearts but life took them down different paths and they haven’t seen each other in 14 years. Blair moves back home to help take care of her mom and Denver literally falls off his horse when he sees her again.
There is so much tension and angst between Denver and Blair. They both still love each other so much also it was so beautiful to see them learn to trust each other and heal together. I loved the mental health representation. They both went through traumatic things and Blair went through a deep depression. I loved how supportive Denver was of her and wanted to help take some of her burdens off her shoulders.
I loved the build up for the next book and I can’t wait for Whit and Colt!

My favorite book from Bailey Hannah yet! It mastered the tension while still building on so much shared history. I adored Blair and her story. I think Denny feels the most human of the Wells Ranch MMCs so far. He had more emotion and depth than the previous male characters in the series (and I say this as someone who loves Austin Wells, so you know Denny was good).
I’ve never really enjoyed flashbacks in romance books but I think these were done very well. They really made it clear that Denny and Blair were meant to be while still allowing the current timeline to stand on its own and show us their reconciliation.
This book also packs a serious emotional punch. As someone who has experience caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s Disease, I really appreciated how this book handled the topic. I saw so much about how emotional and heartbreaking this book is from both the author and other reviewers. While it had its sad moments, I honestly wasn't blown away by the emotional scenes.

Bailey Hannah is and always will be one of my auto-read authors. There isn't anything that she's touched that I haven't loved, Change of Hart included. This was a wonderful story with swoony characters, engaging plot, and next level intimacy. I was a literal bucket of tears for the last half of the book. I waited for over a year to get Denver and Blairs story and it was so worth it.

Thank you, NetGalley and the Publisher for the ARC!

Wells Ranch Novel: Change of Hart
4.25 stars
Blair Hart and Denver Wells

Dedication alone should make you want to read this book:
For the fiercely independent.
I hope you find someone you can lean on.
Until then, you have Denver Wells.

Blair and Denver start out being best friends that turned into lovers at 16 years old. Blair and Denver made plans for a life together after graduation that got derailed after some heart breaking family news. Denver was not able to follow Blair to University due to needing to be at the ranch for his family. The two made some decisions at the age that would take them away from each other at 18.

After 13 years away from Wells Canyon Blair had to come home after finding out that her mom fell ill. She did everything in her power to stay away from Denver. After all those years the first time Denver sees Blair he ends up falling off of the bronc that he was competing on. Seeing that Blair is now a nurse practitioner that is how these two become part of each others lives again.

You could feel the "it was always going to be you" between these two characters. Second chance is not my favorite trope but the way Bailey Hannah was able to write it, I was loving it. It was believable when some second chance or high school sweethearts are not. I did really enjoy the dual timeline. Seeing their evolving love from 13-18 years old. I wasn't a huge fan of Denver's when they came back to school after the summer though. IYKYK. Believe me he did make up for that and so much more.

I die for a Good Boy and Crawl to me moment!!! Nothing better then having a man crawl without complaint.

As much as I enjoyed this book there was only a couple of things that keep it from being a 5 star for me.
I struggle when one of the main characters tries to punish the other because of things that did while apart. Especially when they did the same thing. Just the other one didn't hear or find out about it. I felt like Blair was emotional immature for being in her 30s. She wouldn't talk to Denver even though he was pouring his heart out to her. I do think the first 50% was a little slow but I still read this book in two days.

Tropes:
- Second Chance
- Small Town Cowboy
- Dual Timeline
- Childhood Friends to Lovers
- High School Sweethearts
- Saddle Bronc Rider x Barrel Racer (Nurse Practitioner)
- Secret Tattoo
- Mental Health Rep
- Always Been You and Will Always Be You

This book is a interconnect standalone. I had read the previous two books in the series so I was able to follow along to see what was happening in the other characters lives.

Please check your trigger warnings. There are a few heavy ones.

Thank you to Bailey Hannah, Random House- Ballantine, and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Change of Heart (Wells Ranch, #3) is the first time I've read anything by Bailey Hannah, and this is also my first read in this series, but after crying my way to the end of this novel, it won't be the last. What an excellent second chance at love novel! It gets 5 big stars from this grateful reader.

The main characters, Blair and Denver, fell in l0ve in grade school, and stayed that way until their graduation, which is when Denver first proposed marriage. But Bailey wanted to pursue a career in medicine, and Denver and his brothers were busy running Wells Ranch, after their father skipped out on them after his wife's death from cancer. Bottom line--absence doesn't always make the heart grow fonder. In their case, several misunderstandings later, it led to a 14-year absence, wil Bailey getting involved in medicine and Denver working hard at the ranch--that is until her father informed her that her mom had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. Bailey was quite the amazing character--strong, independent (sometimes too much so), sassy, caring and deeply in love with Denver, through it all.

Denver also feel for Bailey in grade school, and he too was a wonderful, well-drawn character, and the kind of cowboy character romance readers love to fall in love with--I certainly did. He's handsome, strong, kind, sincere, caring, thoughtful, romantic, and downright sexy. Thanks to Ms. Hannah's use of dual narration, something I've loved for years, we get inside each character's head so we know what they're thinking and feeling, and while some may find it a bit confusing, the author also tells their story moving backwards and forward in time, so we get to learn to know each character at different periods of time, and that piece of brilliance makes each character jump off the page at various stages of their lives.

Now to the triggers, and there are quite a few, among them: cancer, Alzheimer's disease, abortion, underage drinking, depression, parental abandonment, and explicit sex.

As second-chance romances go, this is one of the best I've read in quite some time. I laughed, I cried (more than a few times) and I absolutely loved the characters--all of them. I can't wait to backtrack to the previous novels in this series, because Ms. Hannah wrote an unforgettable novel in this one--it's a gem.

I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this novel. The opinions stated are my own.

Denver Wells and Blair Hart!!! This might be one of my favorite second chance romances!! Heartfelt and emotional. These two have been through so much together. I love the way the story is told in present and past timelines. The previous years really brings out so many emotional story lines.

"I never stopped loving you. It's never stopped being you for me. Even when I thought you might not be mine in the end, I was always going to be yours. "

This was a great second chance romance.

I loved the way we went back and from between present and past. In the past we see how Denver and Blair’s relationship grew from childhood friends to more. We also see what breaks them up and leads to a decade of separation. In the present we see Blair return to Wells Canyon. And we see Denver work to prove himself worthy of her.

I loved that this book has no 3rd act breakup. And there is no miscommunication trope. The reason behind the breakup when they were teens, though sad, was very much understandable.

It was nice to see the way Blair and Denver come back together. They try to take things slow but really know that they’re inevitable.

It’s also fun to see the other couples and wider Wells Ranch family. See how they’re doing together and what is to come next.

Overall this was very enjoyable. It’s light and fun but also touches on deeper topics.

THANK YOU Bailey Hannah, NetGalley and Dell for the opportunity to read this ARC!

“I only wanted a life with you, Bear.”

Check your triggers! There were some heavy topics in this book (that were handled beautifully).

I DEVOURED Denny and Blair’s story in less than a day. Was I prepared for more hot cowboy goodness from Bailey Hannah? Yes! Was I prepared for the most beautiful emotional damage from a spicy cowboy romance? No, absolutely not, but I loved every second of it.

Denny and Blair found the most beautiful love for each other not once, but twice! I loved the dual timeline as we got to watch them fall in love twice. The way Denver just showed up for Blair in every way imaginable while also encouraging her was swoon worthy in and of itself, and it was heartwarming (and relatable) to watch Blair learn how to let Denny love her.

What you’ll find in Change of Hart:
💙 Second chance
💙High school sweethearts
💙Small town/cowboy
💙Barrel racer x saddlebrone rider
💙Reformed playboy
💙Dual timeline

FIVE STARS. NO NOTES OTHER THAN PRAISE.

I consider myself to not love second chance romance as I am not a forgiving person but this was incredible. The yearning, the dual timeline, the tension and the pay off? Absolutely perfect. Bailey's best book yet.

Oh my heart… I needed to sit with this book for a couple of days before I could write my review. This story was so well written and incredibly emotional. While it has all the sexy cowboy moments you expect from Bailey, it pulls at all of the heart strings. Anyone that has a parent or loved one facing a chronic and deteriorating illness, this is book will hit hard but also be extremely cathartic.

Our two main characters were childhood sweethearts and true soulmates. After facing more than any two 18 year olds should ever have to face, they break apart. Years later, when faced with another hard situation, our FMC moves home and faces the man she loved so many years ago. While she tries to stay away, soulmates always find a way back to one another.

This book broke my heart, repeatedly, and then put it back together again in such a beautiful way. Our characters overcome grief, betrayal, heartache, and the trials and tribulations that come with growing up. They are like magnets to each other and I absolutely loved how they always just knew what the other needed. As a reader, we get to see their true transformations from young naive teens to grown adults and it is a wild ride. Overall, I loved this book so much and think it truly is a story of hope and family. The sexy cowboy is just the extra cherry on top!

This book deals with some heavy and sensitive topics. While the story is incredibly hopeful and shows the importance of showing up for those you love, it still has some hard moments so please check trigger warnings.

Thank you so much to Bailey, Random House Publishing Group, Dell Romance, and NetGalley for this ARC in return for my honest review. My opinions are my own.

I loved seeing Blair and Denver’s relationship grow. They had such strong feelings for each other and had to decide to trust and make it work. I was so excited for their story and it was better than I imagined.

Bailey Hannah is becoming one of my favorite authors. I loved the first two books in the Wells Ranch series and Change of Heart did not disappoint! Loved the banter between Denver and Blair and the spice is spicing! This book will make you laugh, make you cry, and make you swoon. Change of Hart was a great second chance romance and would recommend this book to anyone.

This is the third book in the Well's Ranch series by Canadian indie turned trad author Bailey Hannah. I am soo late to the party on these books and Change of Hart was my first one (don't worry it works as a standalone). Highly recommended for fans of Elsie Silver and Lyla Sage, this dual POV, second chance romance between childhood sweethearts Denny and Blair stole my heart. Blair left at 18 and never came back but when her mother gets Alzheimer's she can't stay away any longer. Emotional and spicy, this book has it all for the cowboy romance lovers. My only complaint was that it was a touch long. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital copy in exchange for my honest review.

CW: death of a parent from cancer, parent with Alzheimer's, accidental pregnancy and abortion, depression

Bailey Hannah is seriously one of my FAVORITE Contemporary Romance authors! I absolutely enjoyed going back to Wells Ranch! If you’re looking for a cozy romance to curl up with, this is the book for you! Honestly, the whole series is for you! It’s got plot and character building while still being a quick and immersive read.

I absolutely LOVED Denver and Blair! Normally, I’m usually not big on second chance romances but thanks to Bailey I’ve definitely had a Change of Hart! The playful banter, the sexual tension, pining/yearning, and overall adorableness of this their story was perfect! The emotional rollercoaster these two went through while losing each other and making it back to each other took me for one hell of a ride!

The SPICE! 🌶️🌶️🌶️ Hands down Bailey is my favorite author when it comes to writing spicy scenes, especially in contemporary romances! No disappointment with a single scene. The scenes are written very well and deliciously detailed. So hot you need to fan yourself! 🥵

As always, don’t forget to check your triggers and Bailey is absolutely amazing at listing them!

OMG, how did I not read more books written by Bailey until this!? This was the first book I read in the Wells Ranch series, I know I should have read it in order but omg this book is phenomenal. I loved that this is a dual POV between current-day Blair and Denver, and their past selves too. Reading what Blair and Denver were going through during some of the life-changing events in their lives helped me connect a lot to these two. I'm such a sucker for second-chance romances and this delivered.

These two lost each other once, and they're trying to find their way to one another - even though it's been 14 years since their break. I loved this, and I think you'd love this too. The spice was *chef's kiss*.

Thanks to Netgalley, Bailey Hannah and Dell Publishing for this arc of this book. I'm such a fan of Bailey.

This book has made me rethink my dislike of second chance romance. Denver and Blair were childhood friends, dated in high school, and broke up in their late teens with very little contact over the past 14 years. I don’t know if it’s because they’ve matured significantly compared to the first time they dated or if there really is some kind of universal magic pulling them together, but Denver and Blair are SO good together in this book. I loved getting glimpses of their past and seeing the impact that Denver’s mom being diagnosed with cancer and passing away impacted both Denver and Blair. And now that Blair is back to take care of her own ailing mother, Denver is just so incredibly sweet to her and supportive and ugh, just so so good! My one and only tiny TINY criticism is that the spice at times dragged a bit and didn’t always move the story along, but that’s just my opinion! I know the series isn’t over yet, but dare I say, Denver and Blair might be my favorite couple yet.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC of this book!

Where do I start. Blair and Denny own my whole heart! Second chance, high school sweethearts, SECRET TATTOO?! I could go on with how many of my favorite tropes are in this book! Such an emotional read, I cried quite a few times but couldn’t put the book down to save my life. Such a journey to get to their HEA, but so worth it. Denny pulled out all the stops to get his girl back, and I just kept falling in love with him! Also, Blair’s journey to letting him in and trusting again was so relatable and touching!

Second chance romances give me anxiety, I know there is a big break-up at one point, but it still gives me the stomach aches just thinking about it 🤣 This book was 1000% an angsty, stomach hurting read 🤣 I swear I was emotional through 90% of it. Bailey takes very raw subjects and writes them into art.

Ugh Denver & Blair 🥹 What a road they had to travel to get their HEA. Their story had me reading through the night and carrying my kindle through the house as I was doing chores 🤣 I love Wells Ranch and I am EAGER for book 4.

𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐐𝐮𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐬:
“You call, I come. Always.”

“You. I want you, Blair. If you’re the bride, I want to get married. If you’re the mother, I want kids.”

𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐢𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐞𝐧𝐣𝐨𝐲:
• Small Town
• Second Chance
• Childhood Friends
• Cowboy
