I will say Bailey Hannah is such a great writer and knows how to paint a picture. It was great being back in Well’s Canyon, but unfortunately this is probably my least favorite of the series.

Collectively I did enjoy the story. I loved getting to know Denny and Blair as a whole. I am happy they found their way back to each other. Blair and Denny definitely had a lot of chemistry between the two and their banter had me laughing out loud. I was heavily invested in knowing their past and how they got their present life so dual timeline with flashbacks spread throughout was really nice.

I know abortion was in the trigger warning but Blair randomly saying “we would have a 13 year old” out of freaking no where at a wedding to Denny like it was an easy topic to talk about was a bit off putting. Especially when as a reader we had no idea about the abortion or why they broke up yet.

When they finally had the long needed conversation, and they chose to forgive and keep moving forward with each other…there was about 10ish% of just filler before wrapping up their story in a bow. They deserved the ending they got with their beautiful intimate wedding and their happily ever after.

Savannah Peachwood & Rock Engle did a phenomenal portraying the emotions between the characters and telling their stories

This book was everything I hoped it would be and more!

I have been obsessed recently with second chance romance and men who yearn and OH BOY, does Denver Wells YEARN🫠 this entire series has been so fun to read but this book was without a doubt my favorite of the three so far!

No notes, five stars, fantastic book.

A sweet and swoony second-chance cowboy romance!

Change of Hart by Bailey Hannah is everything I love in a small-town romance—heartfelt emotion, just the right amount of spice, and all the cowboy charm. This second-chance love story delivers both tenderness and tension as two people find their way back to each other after years apart.

Bailey nails the balance between emotional depth and steamy chemistry, making the journey feel both authentic and addictive. It’s a slow burn that pays off in the best way.

If you love cowboys, past love rekindled, and small-town vibes with a modern twist—this one’s for you!

Cowboys and second chances? Yes please. Blair finds herself back in her hometown of Wells Canyon to be with her family during a very hard time. As much as she tries to avoid the love of her life, her first love, the boy she left behind, Denver has other plans. As SOON as Denver knows she's back, he is determined to win her back. Blair wants to be with him just as much as he wants to be with her, but she insists they start slow, he proves she can trust him & he's always there supporting & being there for her.

There are so many special moments, the dual timeline gives us an open window to their souls connecting when they were teenagers. I enjoyed the angst & the spice has you fanning yourself. The family that surrounds them are so loyal & protective it made my heart squeeze.

There are subjects that are hard & heavy & just made me sad, but seeing their love progress made all of these situations bearable (past & present).

This will give you all the emotions for sure. This is a great heartwarming love story.

Infinity stars! I’ve read all the books in this series and they are all incredible and different, but this one… my favorite of the series so far! The romance, the spice, the love, the sadness… and then all wrapped up in the most perfect way!

Thank you for giving me the chance to read this early!! Cannot wait to buy the physical copy!!

Overall the book was just okay. I enjoy second chance romances, however, when the MMC turns into a manwh*re that such a major ick for me. So that definitely took away stars for me personally. It makes the FMC look weak and desperate in my opinion. Him sleeping with so many other people was a major player in this plot. Not for me.

4.5 ⭐️ this is how you write a second chance romance!!

This is a second chance cowboy romance that follows Blair and Denver who were in a long term relationship throughout high school. They ended up breaking up and it’s now 14 years later and Blair is back in Wells Ranch to help take care of her mother who has Alzheimer’s.

This book was absolutely incredible and definitely one of my favorite cowboy romance books. I was not expecting it to be so emotional but oh my god I cried so many times especially in the flashbacks. The dual timeline was so well done and showed how in love they were when they were younger. The spice was HOT oh my god (he literally crawls to her) and Denver was so down bad for Blair which made the yearning and tension palpable.

If you’re looking for a spicy cowboy romance that will also have you crying definitely check this one out!

4.5⭐️/5 and 3🌶️/5

Every book from this series has been filled with crack! Denny and Blair’s story was no different and I was highly invested in their HEA.

This book had a bunch of common romantic tropes, but somehow felt different (in a good way). Loved the cowboys/young love the most.

It touched on some serious topics, but it was done well and had a healthy balance of humor to even everything out!

Read these books, they are one of my favorite cowboy series! I cannot wait to for the next one with Whit and Colt.

Thank you to Random House Publishing Group and Bailey Hannah for the opportunity to read and provide an honest review.

This was an emotional and steamy second chance romance for Denver and Blair set amongst the goings-on at Wells Ranch and around Wells Canyon. There are many sensitive topics discussed (well-handled in my opinion), so do take care to check on the content notes if you have concerns. They are all stated up front for readers discretion.

Blair had been away for 14 years before returning home to help care for her mother. As soon as Denver saw his “one who got away”, he was all in on not missing his opportunity to get Blair back. The story is told in a dual timeline with flashbacks spanning from ages 13 to 19 between the two of them.

Blair was the kind of person who carried everything on her own, especially after losing Denver from her life in the past. She was a refrain of “I’m fine” and “I can handle it” while taking on task after task for others without letting one in to help her or share her emotions with. One of the best parts of this book for me was watching as Denver showed up for her despite her protestations and proved she had someone in her corner she could lean on. It wasn’t always the case, as was learned in flashbacks, so Denver had his work cut out for him. He didn’t back down. The bond between the two of them was intense and strong, even if I wanted there to be a bit longer spent working through their past before falling back into a relationship (whether they called it that or not). They didn’t miss a beat when it came to the spicy connection though. This one was definitely high, high heat.

The flashback chapters were hit or miss for me, which is often the case when it comes to how I feel about them. Without a doubt, my favorite part of the flashbacks in this book was getting to know Lucy better, heartbreaking as it was to know they were going to lose her. There was beauty in the heartbreak while also really helping understand the emotional place both Blair and Denver were in when the end came for their younger selves. At the same time, the flashback chapters were when I’d set the book aside more often to take a break because I felt yanked out of the present day story just as it would start to flow. It was definitely a personal preference because I understand the way they were used to share all of Blair and Denver’s story. (Of note, I also struggle with an MMC who heavy with the “it’s always been you” yet was a total f-boy in their time apart, but at least Blair wasn’t saintly and celibate during the separation.)

I really enjoy this series and I was tracking the little sprinkles of setup for the next book. I’m looking forward to reading that one for sure. Thank you to Dell via NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

“When one of us dies or loses our memory one day, I want to know we had as much time together as possible, I don’t need more time to figure out whether I still love you. I do, and I always have.”

I loved the first two books in the Wells Ranch series, and this one in no exception. The second chance romance mixed with the friends to lovers was *chefs kiss*.

I’m never sure how I’m going to feel about dual timeline books, but this book proved to me that they can be done well. in this case, it helped move the story along and make it feel like we have the whole story of their love.

There are many trigger warnings for this book so make sure you read them. That being said the author handled the sensitive topics in this book well and with such care and respect.

Thank you to Dell/Random Publishing House Publishing Group for the ARC!

Listen… this book? It got me. Second chance romance, small town tension, a cowboy ex who still carries a torch, and a woman trying to guard her heart? Yeah, I devoured it.

Blair and Denver’s story pulled me in from the first page. The angst? Delicious. The chemistry? Undeniable. I was rooting for them so hard even when I wanted to shake them both. I loved seeing Blair step into this complicated, emotional role as a caregiver while still standing up for herself and Denver? Whew. That cowboy really had to work for it, and I was here for every second of it.

Also, you don’t have to read the other books first, but now I definitely want to. Bailey Hannah knows how to write characters with real history and heat. If you love your romances a little spicy and a lot emotional, this is your sign to pick up Change of Hart.

4.5 *ARC REVIEW*

I think this is my favorite book so far in the series. I’m such a mood reader and was in the mood for an emotional read so this definitely hit the spot!

I absolutely adore a second chance romance especially when it has a certain microtrope and Bailey delivered! Denver and Blair’s story was absolutely gut-wrenching! This story definitely touched on some HARD and delicate topics that I think Bailey did a really good job handling them.

Blair’s depression and anxiety and thoughts surrounding her relationship with and being around Denver was SO REAL! I mean the jealousy of relationships he had when they weren’t together was so relatable to how a lot of our female minds work.

I loved that it touched on the mistakes they made when they weren’t together younger and how they had both grown and how Denver knew what she needed this time around and loved her the way she needed, and I loved their happy ending!

I am so excited for the last two books in the series because I feel like Bailey has really been digging deep and each book has been more emotional than the last!

I would definitely check content warnings if there are things you wish to avoid in books. There were a few things that caused me to not rate it a whole 5 stars that might be a bigger deal to other readers.

I’m so thankful to Bailey and Dell Romance/Random House for the gifted physical ARC and eARC (NetGalley) early review copies!!

WOW. Just WOW. This was incredible. Sometimes, I think, "This author was meant to write a book," which is exactly how I feel about Bailey Hannah. It is hard to believe that this is her first series.

There were several heavy topics discussed throughout the book, but they all felt so realistic and well-written. I don't really have words to articulate just how well written this story was. And to top it all off, Denver is an acts of service KING. Top tier book boyfriend, truly. The flashbacks made me feel so many feels and seeing how they were so endlessly devoted to each other was beautiful. Best book in the series, hands down, not questions asked.

"I was always coming back to you, Denver. No one else has ever felt like home."

- small town
- cowboy romance
- second chance
- medical romance (she's a nurse)
- dual timelines
- no breakup
- 🌶️🌶️🌶️/5
- dual pov

Change of Hart has three of my favourite things: a small town, second chance romance with dual timelines. There's just something about those 'it's always been you' vibes in a second chance romance that do it for me every time.

Like a certain cowboy having her birthday as his phone's code, or literally falling off his horse when he sees her again for the first time, or having a secret tattoo related to his nickname for her. BE STILL MY HEART 🫠.

Denver also doesn't mess around, and I love a confident, communicative cowboy. From the get-go, he's honest with Blair, telling her she's always been the only one for him and he's not letting her go again. Blair is more reluctant to give Denver her heart again, but he wins her over.

So, if you're looking for a spicy cowboy romance with an emotional undertone (flashbacks to his mother's passing and her mother has Alzheimer's in the present), I recommend checking this out.

Thank you to Dell for the early copy!

This book was difficult for me to get into and I had to DNF at 20%. It does have a character with an abuse spouse so check for trigger warnings.

So happy to have been back at Wells Ranch! I love the way Bailey is able to pull you in and you are stuck until the end. Change of Hart does alternate between present and past with both characters. Denny and Blair dated when they were teenagers and reunited over a decade later so it was nice seeing parts of their past!

This is an emotional journey between Denny and Blair but they are so adorable! They deserved their happy ending. Their journey back to each other was not an easy one but they were able to heal together from their past and become stronger individuals and a couple.

I loved Denny’s hard work and dedication to show Blair she can trust him again and that he loves her so much! You can see how much he loves her, he did crawl for her!

I can’t wait for book 4!

Absolutely loved this book in the Wells Ranch Series. I thought the blending of the past and present timelines was done so seamlessly. The only thing I wish we saw more of was Denver's journey through processing the initial reasons for their breakup and his growth journey through that. I feel like we didn't get enough reasoning to believe that he really had worked through it, and not just telling Blair what she wants to hear. Regardless, the chemistry between the two of these characters is undeniably and left me feeling all the warm fuzzies!

This killed me. This caused me to stay up much too late during one of the busiest work weeks of my life and I am paying for it, but it was entirely worth it.

Blair and Denny’s second chance at happiness was the most soothing balm to my soul (look at me waxing poetic). Watching them navigate their complicated past so maturely and effectively (no miscommunication! No third-act breakup!) was so heart-wrenching and emotional, especially when their full story is revealed. I loved how we get to see the two of them evolve from teenagers to adults, and how their choices and actions reflect that growth.

Thank you to NetGalley for this arc!

This is the 3rd book in the Wells Ranch series. It is the first of this series I"ve read, this book was easily a stand alone - but I'd like to go back and read the first 2 stories, too. Spicy and interesting second chance romance.

This is Blair and Denver's story - past romantic partners and family history keep them together. Blair is back in town due to her mother's illness and she reconnects with childhood sweetheart, Denver. She spent most of her time with him and his family, barrel racing on the rodeo circuit. Now that she's back in town, Denver wants to pick up their romance.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for a temporary, digital ARC in return for my review.

I absolutely devoured this book! If you love second-chance romances with characters who have real history and unresolved tension, this one will hit you right in the heart. Blair and Denver’s chemistry crackles from the very first page, and the witty banter between them had me laughing out loud more than once. The author does such a great job of balancing the spice and emotional depth—this isn’t just a romance, it’s a story about healing, growth, and forgiveness.

Blair is strong and guarded, and watching her slowly (and reluctantly!) open back up to the cowboy who broke her heart years ago was so satisfying. Denver, meanwhile, is the perfect mix of rugged charm and emotional vulnerability—he’s determined to make things right, and you can’t help but root for him.

The small-town setting adds another layer of intimacy to the story, and the side characters were just as vivid and well-drawn as the main couple. I felt like I was right there in Wells Canyon, caught up in all the tension, heartache, and unexpected laughs.

This is the kind of book that leaves you smiling at the last page, already missing the characters. Highly recommend for fans of spicy romances with depth, sass, and a cowboy who’ll do whatever it takes to win back the love of his life.
