This is by far one of my favorite reads so far this year! I hate everything both Denver and Blair went through to find their way back to each other. The depth of these characters make you care for them, and even the smaller characters have so much life to them! I loved the story of their first romance as much as their second chance. Give this one a read for sure!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this book

Cowboy romances are my version of pizza. When they are good, they are great and even when they aren’t good, they are still pretty easy to read and enjoy. “Change of Hart” was a solid cowboy romance. It’s a second chance between Blair and Denver who fell in love in high school, broke up, and are now reunited 14 years later when Blair moves back to their hometown. Once Denver sees her, it is kind of inevitable that they will get back together – he just has to prove to her that he’ll be there when she needs him.
This book was incredibly readable and even though there are hard topics throughout, it is generally filled with two people who deeply love each other. I really enjoyed Blair and the portrayal of her mental health. For those who are the older sister who won't ask for help but so deeply need to be taken care of, Denver is a dream book boyfriend. And to me, it seemed that the writing about Denver’s mom’s cancer and Blair’s mom’s Alzheimer’s was done with care and nice subtleties.
I personally really enjoyed the flashback chapters. I feel like we often hear characters talk about the past and getting to read about it felt like a really nice way to show instead of tell. I felt like it worked well for a second chance romance to help us really understand what happened.
That being said, there wasn’t a ton of conflict in their relationship. Once they both decided to get back together, they talked about the past and talked about the future but that was sort of it for creating tension. Because of that, some of the scenes towards the end felt a bit repetitive and dragged out. And something just didn’t sit right with me when it came to what was the catalyst for their break-up. I think the author showed why each character made the decision that they did in that moment, but it was that it centered around a controversial topic and I am seeing reviews dragging Blair for her decision. Because of that, I wish that Blair stood more firmly in her decision in the present time and that Denver backed her up a little bit more – there was a time or two when she apologized to him for the breakup and he just accepted the apology. If we are going to go there and ultimately say that the decision was best for them, I just needed a bit more oomph in those discussions.
I will always read a cowboy romance and this was a solid addition to my collection. If you are in the mood to read an assured happy ending (because honestly, sometimes that is incredibly needed), you will love this.
Thank you to Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine / Dell and NetGalley for providing this eARC! All opinions are my own.

“He and I are as inevitable as the passing of time,…”
Bailey Hannah really outdid herself on this one.
I feel like my heart just kept breaking this entire book. Hit after hit. But the payoff was worth it.
Denver & Blair 💕
Cowboy x nurse practitioner
Second chance
Childhood sweethearts
Found family
And lots of other things I don’t want to spoil.

Netgalley arc review ✨

Blair Hart and Denver Wells are soulmates.
Second Chance Romance has never been my favorite trope. I avoid it unless it's being written by an author I trust. And let me tell you, I trust Bailey Hannah. She actually had me excited to get to their story after Seeing Red and it didn't disappoint.
It DID make me cry though. Kind of a lot. But it was all worth it.
Another thing I don't usually enjoy is a dual timeline, but it was absolutely necessary for their story to have the impact it did. I loved getting to see their relationship grow as teens and loved getting to know Lucy. Those chapters were so special and made my heart ache for adult Blair and Denny.
I really loved that their reunion and rebuilding of their relationship didn't feel forced. It was organic and inevitable. These two were always going to find their way back to each other. And their support and love for the other and their families knows no bounds.
Also, on top of it all, the smut is excellent and Blair calls Denny a [redacted]. It was everything I wanted from these two.
I love you Blair Bear, I love you Denver. I love you Wells Ranch & Co.
Cannot wait to be back for Whit and Colt and Book Five already has me stressed out. But i love it here and all the tears and suffering is worth it.
Side note:
Bailey Hannah tends to include some tough topics, so I do recommend reading the content warnings, but she always treats these topics with the care they deserve.
Thank you to NetGalley and Dell for the eARC.

From the moment Denver and Blair meet as kids, they’re it for each other. They spend their days together on Denver’s family ranch and at 16, finally admit their feelings and become inseparable.
Tragedy strikes at 18, and Blair is faced with a decision that breaks them.
14 years later, she’s back at Wells Canyon to help her parents. Denver sees her again and she’s it for him. The last 14 years mean nothing to him and he wants her back, but she’s terrified letting him in would mean him breaking her heart all over again…and the last time almost killed her.
This was sweet, but I struggled with the event that broke them up. Especially given it took them SO long to come back to each other. They were teenagers and it was a lot of angst and anger for something that should have been discussed sooner.
TW: dementia, cancer, loss of a parent, abortion, life on a cattle ranch, depression, thoughts of suicide

i LOVED this book so much. bailey has a way of writing to really get you into the story right from the first page. i felt like i was on the ranch with the characters. i felt like there was enough suspense from the breakup and we weren’t waiting for the whole time, but we really felt what blair and denver felt. i cannot wait for the next one.

I have been dreaming of Denver and Blair's story since the beginning, and Change of Hart was everything I needed for them. There is something so superior about Second Chance Romance and the dual timeline of this book made me fall in love with these characters so much more. I love to see teenage love so consuming, and although they were separated they eventually found their way back to each other, and that adult love was invigorating. The fact they both still loved each other but had their own separate guilt keeping them apart adds the perfect amount of heartbreak needed.
Blair calling Denver a good boy was an added bonus ;)
This is a good book, and I cannot emphasize that enough!

I love Denver Wells. That’s it, that’s the review. Thank you so much to Bailey and Dell Romance for the arc of this book!
I fell in love hard with this one, and the alternating timelines made it so so good. The Wells Ranch books just keep getting better. Second chance romance doesn’t even feel like the right way to describe this one but whatever you want to call it it was perfection.

Whewwww. Give me all the (cowboy) books that Bailey Hannah writes! This was a perfect second chance — childhood friends to lovers book. It was done so well! I loved the dual timelines and seeing the snippets of their past while seeing them reconnect. I think it’s special and really solidifies the relationship between the two main characters. Five stars all the way!

An angsty second change romance?! Sign me up! The main characters are so lovable. This was such an emotional read. I throughly enjoyed reading this and now I need to go read the other books in the series!

I really enjoyed this one! Bailey Hannah knows how to write a good cowboy romance well. She knows the lifestyle and it really shows. There are many cowboy romance books out there that you can tell the author has zero clue about the lifestyle but this ain’t that.
Also, to make me adore a second chance romance? Hats off. I’m pretty specific about what I like with second chance and this had all the elements I need. That’s a dual timeline, sweet young love and some tragic thing to break them apart.
Bailey did a fantastic job of really showing how these characters change yet stay the same from when they were kids. Blair has changed a lot and we do find out why, but sweet Denny just adores her. Forever. Cameos from our favorite Wells Ranch characters were great too.
Pick this one up if you love

There’s also some triggers in the beginning of the book that will spoil if I mention them but def be aware.
Thank you to Del Romance and Bailey Hannah for the ARC.
I took a star away only because the ending got a little slow for me. I felt the plot got resolved a little too early and I also wanted a little more from the plot with Blair’s mom, it felt a little left behind.

Blair Hart and Denver Wells were everything to each other, yet sometimes young love doesn’t work out. 14 years later, both still feel the connection and all those memories start to resurface. Blair is back home to help care for her mother and working at the local clinic. Denver is running the family ranch with his brothers and known as the hometown playboy. Can time heal wounds of the past? Will both be willing to give each other a second chance? Flipping between past and present, Change of Hart will take you on a journey of love, loss, and making amends.
Change of Hart shattered my heart and slowly put the pieces back together. There were a lot of heavy moments in this cowboy romance. Blair and Denver had outstanding chemistry and getting the flashback chapters helped detail what lead to their past breakup. The spice was definitely a highlight, yet so many other aspects of the story made it memorable. Denver might have been a playboy, but I LOVED seeing him step up and fight for Blair. If you love second chances, secret tattoos and HOT cowboys…. you have to put this one on your TBR!
Thank you NetGalley and Dell for my eARC.

Ahh so good! This is exactly how you do a book with no miscommunication, no third act breakup and no nonsense! Perfect second chance romance and I ate it up!

I was lucky enough to read Change of Hart as a pre-release thanks to Netgalley. But, I’ll be buying hard copies of anything Bailey Hannah publishes!!
Finally, a romance novel with no third-act breakup. High school lovers rekindle their relationship as adults, acting like adults. I had no idea what to expect with this story other than I had to get my hands on it after reading, Alive and Wells.
Blair and Denver’s story was both relatable and heart wrenching. Two unlikely friends develop a relationship, but learn the hard way that people have to make their own decisions. And, sometimes those decisions break our hearts.
14 years later and two broken hears later, Blair is back in town. Denver won’t let her down again. She’s still the one- and he’s willing to do anything to prove it.

Blaire and Denver's story is nothing and everything I expected it to be. A story of right person, but not the right time just yet. They have loved each other since they were 16, but when Blaire moved away for college - a decision made tears them apart. 14 years later, she's back in town to help take care of her mom when an Alzheimer's diagnosis shakes their family to the core.
Now that Blaire is back, Denver isn't letting her go again. She's the only woman he's ever wanted a future with and he will do anything to prove it to her..
Be prepared to feel so many things reading this - PLEASE CHECK THE CW LIST! There are some very heavy topics discussed!
The absolute DEVOTION Denver has for Blaire is unrivalled. I rooted from him from the moment they locked eyes and kept cheering until the epilogue. Blaire truly needed to come home.

Charming second hand romance. This time the hero stayed home while the heroine went into the world. I really liked that.

a second chance romance hates to see me coming!! change of hart is quite literally everything to me, i will be accepting zero criticism. denver + blair changed something in me. the dual timeline is so nostalgic, and their love for each other is palpable. i love them.
“i never stopped loving you. it’s never stopped being you for me.”
DENVER WELLS 🙇🏼♀️ i have never been so down bad for a fictional man. the constant reassurance and talking through his feelings, the way he never stops showing up for blair when she needs him — even when she says she can do it alone. where do i find a denver of my own?!
“all the years feeling like i was missing something, i was homesick. but not for wells canyon. i was homesick for him.”
i love a strong fmc!!! there were times when my heart physically hurt for blair. she deserves every good thing life has to offer. i love that she went after and achieved every goal she set her mind to, even when it hurt. also!!! good boy x she makes him CRAWL 🥵 i want to be blair when i grow up
“i’m painfully uninterested in any future that doesn’t involve you.”
a big, big, big thank you to dell, netgalley and bailey hannah for providing me with an arc for one of my most anticipated releases of the year. i love you forever. 🫶🏼

Perfect third book for this series. I actually really liked the flashbacks that showed Denver and Blair’s relationship grow. From awkward teens to young adults facing the up and downs of life. As always Bailey Hannah knows how to right the perfect man and Denver Wells is no exception, a reformed small town playboy to the definition of if he wanted to he would. Sometimes love does wait.

DENVER WELLS. I was lucky that my first ARC was this book. I will never get over this story. I laughed, cried, kicked my feet and loved every bit of this book. Denver is by far my favorite in this series so far. Bailey Hannah has made her way to an automatic read from me

4.5 stars
In the third book of the Wells Ranch series, we finally get the story of Denver and Blair. They meet at 13, fall in love by age 16, and find themselves torn apart and heartbroken by 18. Only to come face to face again 14 years later as Denver falls off his Bronc and gets injured.
Blair "Bear" Hart is a nurse practitioner who has moved home to care for her mother with Alzheimer's. Blair is strong and independent and puts those she loves above herself. She is reluctant to ask for help at the determent of herself. As a fiercely independent woman myself, this is what made me fall in love with this storyline. Blair allowing Denny to help her was a true act of love on her part. She knew his need to make things right and care for her was one of the ways Denver needed to show his love for Bear.
Grateful for a drama-free read with the extended Wells family hanging around each other. Loved seeing Red and Cass with Hazel. This series keeps getting better.
What I loved:
- Alzheimer Rep
- Depression Rep
- Dancing in Denny's Room
- Denny leaving his mark on Blair
- No third-act breakup
- Drama free
- Lucy Wells - The ring
- Denny's dimples and bear tattoo
- Life of Wells Ranch - Found family
Thank you to NetGalley for sending me the Arc of "Change of Hart" for my honest review.
