I’m so glad that one day I randomly saw an ARC ad for Bailey’s first book in this series because I because instantly hooked! She’s an insta-buy author for me now. Everything she writes just gets better and better. I go through so many emotions with her books! One second I’m laughing and then next I’m crying.

Denver and Blair’s story was so emotional but you could feel from the very beginning how much they loved each other even after all these years. Blair had no chance against Denver winning her back. But everything made me love Denver even more 😍

How does Bailey Hannah make me cry with every book in this series? She writes the best characters who are flawed but you can’t help rooting for. I don’t usually love second chance romance, but this one was done so right. The maturity, the emotional responsibility, the yearning. I can’t get enough of these cowboys and this entire series. I love flashbacks in books, especially second chance, so we can get the full picture and these painted the perfect picture. My only complaint is that by the mid-end of the book, I wanted less flashbacks and more present day time with the couple. Of course, we can’t review a book without mentioning just how DOWN BAD Denver was for Blair. It was sexy, emotional, and an overall fun ride.

So fantastic! Makes me want to run away to ranch life and never come back. Just an escape in pages with an amazing story and the characters were pure perfection. I have been wanting to read Bailey Hannah after hearing so much praise and this was the perfect opportunity and now I need more.

I have been sitting on this review since I finished on February 22nd. I STILL do not have the words to describe everything I felt while reading this book. Denver and Blair's entire story ripped my heart out, shredded it, stitched it back together... and do NOT even get me started on the scenes with Lucy. When I tell you I audibly SOBBED. There are so many layers, so much depth, to this story. I always rave about Baileys writing, but she truly just improves with each book. This is definitely how you do second chance romance. ugh. I could go on for ages, truly. Bailey is the QUEEN of small town, cowboy romance, and that a hill I will die on.

I struggled with this one and had to DNF at 30%. The writing was not my style. It jumped around quite a bit from past and present and it was a bit confusing. This is also book 3 in a series, and I didn’t realize that when I requested this arc.

Thank you to NetGalley for this advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

"Change of Hart" has been at the top of my TBR list since last September (the original release date). I was thrilled to receive an ARC from Ballantine, Bailey Hannah, and NetGalley.

The absolute last thing Blair wants to do is move back to Wells Canyon and risk running into her ex, Denny, whom she's still not over. However, fate has other plans for her. When her mom becomes sick, Blair returns to care for her, all while landing a job as a Nurse Practitioner at the local hospital.

A chance encounter reunites Denny and Blair at the local rodeo. Their lengthy history takes them on a journey to explore the present, forcing them to confront their past and decide if there's really a future for them.

Bailey wrote "Change of Hart" with so much emotion. I'm not lying when I say I cried through 50% of the book. Denny and Blair are the most perfectly complex characters. I have a sweet spot for Golden Retriever MMCs, and Denny didn't disappoint. I knew from the moment I finished "Alive and Wells" that Denny's book would be my favorite in the series.

These Wells Ranch men are all 🥵🥵🥵!!! I absolutely love this series.

Denver & Blair's story is: second chance, best friends to lovers to enemies to lovers, small town, cowboy romance and it is PERFECTION!

Denver Wells & Blair Hart became best friends as young teenagers, and then started dating. But when they turned 18, their lives changed dramatically and they drifted apart. It has now been 14 years since they have been together, and Denver is hell bent on getting Blair back now that she is back home for good.

This book was heart wrenching, funny, happy, and spicy. I love how we got to go back and forth between their teenage years and the present. We learned bit by bit how their relationship developed and them imploded when they were 18. And we learned that these two have loved each other for the entire 14 years that they were apart.

Bailey did such an amazing job with this book and this series. I love Wells Ranch!

omg denny and blair are everything!!! this is a second chance romance with a dual timeline (which i love)!!! no third act breakup, no miscommunication, and the spice was spicing!!!!! this was so good!!! bailey has a way of writing that keeps you immersed into the story and not able to put the book down. i really love the found family with all of the characters in this series like their scenes together are everything!

you’ll also need tissues. esp once you hit chapter 30. i-

i really enjoyed seeing their teenage love story and falling back in love as adults. it was so sweet. denny would do anything and everything for blair, she is his entire world. the way they are always there for one another and supportive. do not forget the tissues. i’m telling you.

the first ever cowboy romance i’ve read, and i’m obsessed. “Change of Hart” i honestly find comparable to “Love and Other Words”, which is amongst the most well-done second chance books i have come across. the particulars are, obviously, very unique to each story, but at their heart (hehe, see what i did there?), they encapsulate that sweet, wholesome childhood friends to lovers.. perfectly. i’ve been irrevocably changed from meeting Denny, and i’m uber excited to read more from Bailey Hannah.

(please rewind to write how Jackson & Kate came to be🤞😩)

thank you to NetGalley, Dell, and Bailey Hannah for my advanced copy!

I have been following this series since the first book and this one did not disappoint! I love a second chance romance and one with no miscommunication is the way to go! Fun read!

Second chance romance will always win in my book! What a beautiful story this was! This was my first cowboy romance book and did not disappoint. I read this series out of order but I had no trouble understanding the story.

It was full of angst and I DEVOURED IT!! Denver and Blair were everything and I loved the flashbacks as it helped me and provided so much depth as well as the emotions that came along with it.

I can’t wait to go back and read the other books before this one.

Thank you for the early copy!

Bailey did it again. I enjoyed this book so much that I think it may have even beaten my love for Alive and Wells. She is such an immersive writer and I tend to devour her books in 1-2 sitting. I can’t wait to see where she takes the rest of the series

I was so excited when I received approval to read this ARC, but I put it off for an embarrassingly long time, because I was afraid it would hurt my feelings. I had grown to really like Blair in Seeing Red, and was worried Denny had done something terrible and unforgivable to her. I’m personally not a person that generally loves second chance romance, because some people just don’t deserve a second chance after what they’ve done and how little they grovel.

There was definitely pain in this story, but I am happy to report that Bailey Hannah didn’t fully rip my heart out. The circumstances that drove Blair and Denver apart made sense given everything happening around them at the time and their age (18). Without spoiling anything, they both apologize for how they handled certain situations and their failure to communicate well. We’d seen a lot of Denny being an immature playboy, but he fully shed that facade in the face of a second chance with Blair.

I have SO MANY highlights from this book, and I’m so happy to see this series continuing. I first read Alive & Wells in 2023, and can remember coercing others to read it because I was baffled it wasn’t more popular at the time. I’m already ready to pitch my tent and wait in line for the next one 💕

When I tell you that I absolutely devoured this book, could hardly put it down! I love a second chance trope so much, but I also know it can easily be done wrong. That cannot be said for Bailey Hannah though because she definitely delivered with Change of Hart.

Present day Denver & Blair were both such great characters. I loved them each in their own ways. Denver laid eyes on Blair back in Wells Canyon and knew from that moment on he was going to win her back and he worked hard to do so. And our girl Blair grew so much in learning to allow someone else to take care of her for once rather than always doing everything for everyone else without any concern for herself. And I just loved them relearning who the other was after 14 years apart. That dynamic of them knowing everything about each other from their childhood/teen relationship to having to learn new things about each other as adults was so perfect.

The flashback scenes to their teen years were also perfectly placed within the story so the pacing was never off. They gave you the best insight into how these 2 met and fell in love. Plus, the late 90s/early 2000s nostalgia was so fun. And the reason they broke up was not something contrived or unforgivable on either's part. They were young and made mistakes but neither cheated nor intentionally hurt the other.

If you've read the previous 2 books in this series, you'll already know what happened between Blair and Denver that was the thing that broke them up but if you haven't read them, I think the information unfolds really nicely between the present day POVs and the past POVs. So that said, while I absolutely love the first 2 books, I feel like reading this book as a true standalone without having read those 2 first would make for an extra emotional experience. Either way though, I loved this book so much and highly, highly recommend it to fans of second chance, childhood friends-to-lovers, and cowboys.

I love cowboy romances. Bailey Hannah is a new author for me, so I didn’t know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised and blown away by how great this book was. This second chance romances was exactly what I needed. I love how this book moves back and forth between the characters’ past and present. It makes the story deeper, richer somehow for us to see Denny and Blair this way. This book had me in a chokehold from start to finish. I loved Wells Ranch. While it probably would have been better to start at book one to know more of the characters, this was still a stand alone. I can’t wait to go back and read the beginning of the series. Denver could be one of my all time favorite heroes!
The writing was wonderful. The conflict and backstory tugged at all my emotions. The characters were well developed with great growth. Such a great combination of wonderful plot with great spice! This is a great summer read!!! This book was provided for review by Ballantine/Dell and Netgalley. All opinions are my own.

Phewwwww!

That was one of the most beautifully written books I have ever read... I finished this in 2 days and only sobbed 47389303948 times. Change of Hart did NOT disappoint in ANY way. And, let’s be real, the bar was INCREDIBLY high after 💜Alive & Wells💜 and ❤️Seeing Red❤️

This book follows Blair & Denver … 😭😭😭😭😭 < you’ll understand once you **READ THE BOOK**

Blair is VERY stubborn & chronically independent
Denver is a reformed playboy & let’s just say … VERY determined.

Change of Hart is the PERFECT mix of sweet, emotional (dAmAgE), and SCORCHING F****ING HOT.

I have RAVED (& annoyed everyone) about ALL THINGS Bailey Hannah since I discovered Alive & Wells way back when and will continue to forever.

One last thing… you’re gonna love Denver but WOW is Blair going to make you want to … crawl. 🌶️🥵

Denver Wells!!!! What have you done to me!!! I am completely & utterly obsessed with this man. He saw his girl ONCE (& he wasn’t he sure it was her) but that was enough for him to drop everything to get her back. He stopped at nothing to prove to Blair, & everyone else that doubted him, how much she meant to him 😭

Although I loved Denny, I truly understood where Blair was coming from with her hesitation due to their past; those flashback chapters BROKE me. Thank goodness Denny was able to prove he had made a mistake (& his swoonworthy personality definitely didn’t hurt 🤭)

I loved this story SO much - it was emotional & raw, but also had laugh-till-you-cry moments. It was just so heartfelt; I wish there were better words to encompass how much I adored it.

Read if you enjoy ✨

This one was so well done. Denver and Blair were perfect.

They found each other at a young age. Found their person. We’re one of the lucky ones. Then they had to face a whole host of problems. Losses and fears that not everyone has to face at such a young age. While they worked through most of them and were stronger for it some seemed impossible. So they lost sight of each other for a bit.

This one touched on some harder topics that can be very sensitive. They were done so well though. From the hard moments each of them faced and how they did it. This book showed that what works for one person won’t work for the next. That each person faces their own problems and it won’t look the same for each person.

Denver found his way the best he could and then fought hard for his second chance. He built that trust back and took care of Blair the way she needed him to. While it felt like sometimes those loved ones in his life didn’t see him fully he fought hard for Blair. For his person that had slipped through his fingers so long ago. He took accountability for his wrongs and the things he had done to hurt her in the past.

Blair is back to care for family. She didn’t want to but she came because that is who she is. She fought hard for Denver in her own ways. She fought through the things she always did in order to not feel like a burden. She built trust back with him as well. She had to relearn how to trust and how to be open. She had to find herself and her happiness again. She fought for her person who had slipped through her fingers in the past. She took accountability for her part in the past hurts as well and built a stronger foundation with Denver to move forward.

I loved that these two didn’t blame each other. They blamed themselves and fought hard to prove how much they loved each other.

Ugh I could go on and on and sing the praises of this series and this book. Highly recommend!!!

Thank you to Ballantine and NetGalley for an ARC of this book!

My initial thought after finishing this book is “Why is it already over? Give me more. I need more!” I was so excited to read Blair and Denver’s story after the Easter eggs that were sprinkled throughout Seeing Red, and was not disappointed. Change of Hart is the third book in the Wells Ranch series, and most definitely my favorite so far. It exceeded every one of my expectations and I’d give it six stars if I could.

Blair and Denver’s story is everything a second chance romance should be with a push and pull and undeniable chemistry between the two, and I LOVE the childhood friends to lovers trope in this book. The spice was spicing and didn’t make me cringe while reading it. Every character is lovable and memorable, and the found family aspect always tugs on my heartstrings in the best way.

This book has a dual timeline, and for me, Bailey Hannah did a wonderful job with the flashback chapters, something that I think (and have previously experienced as a reader) is not always done so well. I liked how the flashbacks tied into what the characters were facing and feeling in the present, and it felt like I was experiencing their love and heartache with them rather than being told what was happening. I really enjoyed getting those glances into Blair and Denver’s friendship and relationship as kids, and then the fallout as they grew up and why they ultimately ended things.

No spoilers with this review, but I had my suspicions of why things ended between them and was ultimately proven right, and the way the author wrote it was so beautifully done. It’s a very real and relatable scenario, and it was handled with such care, especially the aftermath and how Blair and Denver coped with it all, both together and apart. One line that stuck with me from this book is “he and I are as inevitable as the passing of time,” and that couldn’t be any truer with these two and everything they’ve been through.

I can’t give enough praise for this book or for the author, and I could tell from reading it how much she has grown in her writing. Bailey Hannah has created such a romantic and fun universe with the guys and gals from Wells Canyon with realistic and relatable storylines that pull you in and make you feel every emotion the characters feel.

I can’t wait to read more from this author, and especially can’t wait for the next two books in this series!
