I would like to express my gratitude to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group for providing the eARC.
This marks the third book in the Wells Ranch series, and regrettably, it has become my least favorite. I encountered considerable difficulty with this installment. While I may be in the minority, I found the narrative to be rather disorganized. The storyline had promise, yet it ultimately fell short in coherence, making it tough for me to form a connection with either character. Although I pushed through to the end, I found it incredibly challenging to motivate myself to pick it up repeatedly.

Blair returns home after her mother falls ill to take care of her. Denver sees his chance to get back his girl. Can they reconcile after the devastating heartbreak from 14 years ago?
This second chance romance really had me in tears at some parts and giggling at others. The reason they broke up in the first place felt believable. I found the flashback chapters to be charming and really set the scene for the reconciliation in the present day. The banter and interactions in the present day just felt a little more stilted and that kept this from being a 5 star. Overall, an emotional and sweet romance where I was rooting for them to get back together.
Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this arc.

From heartbreaking loss, mental health struggles, stress, familial obligations, to rekindling love, relationships, and happily ever afters, Change of Hart by Bailey Hannah was everything I hoped it would be and more. I enjoyed the Austin & Cecily and Red & Cassidy cameos.
Denver "Denny" Wells, the youngest Wells brother, was a reckless playboy who spent his days working the ranch, drinking, and casually seeing women. Denny was closed off to love because 14 years ago, he gave his heart away and never got it back. Blair "Bear" Hart never got over their breakup and had done everything in her power to avoid Wells Canyon for those 14 years. Until her mom's dementia diagnosis brought her back to town. The minute Denny laid eyes on Blair, he was determined to do whatever was necessary to make her his again. Starting with showing up.
I loved Denny and Blair so much. Their love was epic and destined. Their journey back to each other was emotional. I laughed, cried, and hoped. And in the end, I was happy.

second chance, small town, always been you/soulmate love, childhood sweethearts, coming home, metal health rep, cowboy, dirty talker, dual timelines, man obsessed
I adored this story. What a man Denver Wells is. I knew I liked him from the other stories in the series but watching him have his moment with Blair was something else. They have soulmates, always been you, no one else will ever compare type of love. The banter was amazing, the way Denver is all in once he realized Blair is back, nothing can compare to that level of obsessed cowboy. He goes above and beyond to show Blair just how much he loves her and wants a life with her. This book is the perfect example of why I love second chance. The longing, the pining, the dual timelines where we get to see how it started and what went wrong along with watching them fall in love again was all chef’s kiss.
The best part of the whole story was I wasn’t expecting to be so emotional and then so hot all from Denver Wells. That man, dang Bailey can you write them!
Thank you to Bailey Hannah, NetGalley and Dell for this ARC.

Change of Hart is the third book in the Wells Ranch series. It follows Blair Hart and Denver Wells.
This was the first book I've read from Bailey and I have no clue why I waited so long!!
Denver was literally EVERYTHING. Holy heck I loved this man. He is such a sweet man, kind, thoughtful, and knows how to admit when he is wrong. He lost Blair once and he was willing to do whatever it took to finally get her back in his life after 14 years apart. Blair is strong, independent, kind, funny/silly, and so loving. She never thought she would come back to her hometown after Denver broke her heart at 19 but after something happened with her mom Blair knew that she was needed to come home. When she finally saw Denver after their time apart she knew she never truly got over him. Hell, they both never got over each other and never moved on because they were always meant to be together.
This book was highly emotional! Like I was crying reading the prologue but it was also hilarious at times. Bailey really knows how to mix in the sad and painful moments with some light-hearted moments. I really love that we got to see how their love story came to be from ages 13 to 19 while mixing in the present day. It made their journey so much more special.
I honestly will never get over this book and need to instantly go read the first two!!
Thank you so much, Bailey Hannah, Random House Ballentine, and Netgalley, for the gifted copy!

Whyyyyy is this whole series perfect and whyyyy am I so obsessed with it?
Change of Hart is an emotional, beautiful, and satisfying second chance romance. Blair and Denver were childhood friends, to lovers, to enemies, and then back to lovers. It’s dual POV and dual timeline. These two are so good together, so right, so inevitable, so meant to be!! Watching them come to terms with that and accepting each other’s love made my heart sing!! I was also cracking up at the ice cream flavor preferences, and loved the childhood train track scene! Just… so good.

💙 “I can’t sit here wondering anymore. Not after years of dialing her number, then canceling the call before the first ring. Not after years of briefly stopping at the end of her parents’ driveway, questioning whether it’s worth asking them to pass along a message.”
💙 “Do you ever think about me the way I think about you?”
💙 “You were my first love, and you’ll be my last.”
💙 “I only wanted a life with you, Bear.”

The most angsty second chance there is. Beautiful story, I may have shed a few tears. I am not a fan of flashbacks but here I was all over them. They served a purpose from the beginning of Denver and Blair's friendship to first love to the inevitable breakup they held an emotional tie to present day MMCs. The reconnection between them was difficult to put down and stop reading.

I can’t breathe. This book WRECKED me. Bailey wrecked me. She hates me and all of us and loves us 😭
Denver and Blair’s story is perfect and shattered and EVERYTHING id want in a second chance romance. EVERYTHING. I would change a thing. Infinity stars! Just PERFECT!
The emotion, the fighting, the nostalgia, every tied together detail, every crushing heartbreak and disappointment, every struggle, the reconciliation, the love. All of it was just cooked to perfection.
After 14 years apart after deep tragedies at a young age, Blair has moved back to Wells Canyon to help her mother who was diagnosed with vicious Alzheimer’s. Her goal to stay as far away from her ex Denver was crushed immediately when she’s a nurse practitioner for the rodeo where he falls off a bronc and her instincts kick in to help him.
I will NEVER get over this book.
Thank you so much Bailey Hannah and NetGalley for this ARC!

This was a beautiful and emotional second chance romance. Blair returns home after being away for 14 years. See runs into Denver her childhood sweetheart. Denny is now the resident F boy and Blair wants no part of him. Denver feels differently. When he finds out that Blair is home for good, he is determined to win her back and make up for his past mistakes. Blair and Denny have loved each other since they were kids and they eventually get back to their old selves but they still have to forgive each other for the past. The past was a lot y’all. They were young adults full of love but that love just wasn’t enough to handle the obstacles life gave them. Despite the pain, Blair and Denny face their past together and they work on building a future together. I adored this book. Thank you NetGalley for the advanced reader copy.

I was practically feral and foaming at the mouth for this book since it was announced. I’ve been on Bailey’s ARC team for all her indie books and was so excited I got this ARC. The Wells Ranch series has a special place in my heart and I have been waiting on Denver Wells!
This is how a 2nd chance romance is done. So so good. I love getting to see Blair and Denny as teenagers and now. And boy is the now steamy. 🥵 Even if you haven’t read books 1 and 2, I think you’d enjoy this. It’s that good.
Can’t wait for Book 4! Thank you to the author and publisher for the ARC

I think this is my favorite one in the series so far.
And as a second-chance romance hater, this one was actually pretty good.
I loved this story. The romance was PERFECTION.
The flashbacks to their childhood gave me severe butterflies 🦋🤦🏽♀️—I was swooning, giggling, and gagging for more of them.
Blair and Denver’s story was heartbreakingly beautiful, so full of angst and pain. But I loved how they were able to overcome it all.
I appreciated how realistic it felt—how life kept throwing obstacles their way, yet it still managed to stay super romantic.
The found family element in this series is so unique, and it continues to grow stronger as the series goes on.
It did feel a little long toward the end, but I still enjoyed it so much.
I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I did not like the way the MMC was portrayed and it made it seem like he was a bad guy with a horrendous past. Not even his family really stood up for the kind hearted, hard-working man he is and instead it’s all about the PAST women he’s been with. He’s in his 30s btw. The FMC spends the whole book talking about the women he’s been with the 14 years shes been GONE and she doesn’t know if she can trust him. Meanwhile he’s absolutely devoted to her. He would do anything for her and he proves that every page yet the whole book is spent making it seem like he’s not a good guy. He hasn’t been with her in 14 years lots of things happen! One of my problems in this one also happened in the second one and it’s that the MMC’s trauma is never truly fleshed out. Denver lost multiple of his family members and they never really get into how that truly affected him. It’s all about the FMC’s feelings, meanwhile he was going through the hardest time of his life. I didn’t like the way certain situations were handled. It just feels like the men’s feelings and trauma are pushed to the side. I love the men of this series but I can’t say the same for the FMCs.

[3.25 Stars😊] After reading and loving Alive and Wells and Seeing Red, I admit I had really high expectations for Change of Hart, and maybe that was my issue here. Maybe I expected too much for this second-chance romance, because I felt underwhelmed by....everything. The characters, the romance, and the story all felt watered down and I missed the vibrant yet gritty way Bailey Hannah writes. I thought the tension between Blair and Denver vanished into thin air once the slow burn ended (which was actually a fast burn), and there was hardly any time to feel emotionally attached to their story even though there was a lot of history between them.
There were definitely some sweet moments between them though, and I did like their chemistry and banter, but honestly? By about halfway, I was reading just to finish--not reading to enjoy. I'm not sure if it was just me or the book, but I'm giving Bailey Hannah the doubt because I have loved everything else by her, and I'm taking the blame for not liking this as much as I hoped.
+Thanks to Netgalley, Random House Ballentine, and Bailey Hannah for the ARC of Change of Hart!

I was early when it came to Bailey Hannah, loving her debut novel before any of them were picked up by trad publishing. I have been waiting a hot minute for this third book and it did not disapoint. Hannah has this crazy ability to write in a way where you are so immersed in the story, you're a gust of wind away from booking a one way ticket to small town America and saying goodbye to everyone and everything you've ever known. This story is as swoony and as steamy as you would expect from Hannah, and the new book cover? EVERYTHING.

This was ‘second chance’ romance done so RIGHT. Young love is so fun to read about and it always gives my butterflies, but sometimes young love doesn’t workout. Denver & Blair were amazing together. This story is told in a ‘then & now’ timeline that truly let me fall in love with them. What happens when you are the right people, but the timing, life events and things you want just don’t align? You get a story that unfolds PERFECTLY!
“𝘐’𝘮 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘧𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨. 𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘵𝘰𝘰 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘐’𝘮 𝘥𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨. 𝘐’𝘮 𝘫𝘶𝘮𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵, 𝘱𝘳𝘢𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘮𝘺 𝘭𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘭 𝘰𝘧 𝘤𝘳𝘢𝘻𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘫𝘶𝘮𝘱𝘴 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘮𝘦.”
From the moment Denny sees Blair for the first time in well over a decade, he is ALL IN. He never thought he’d get a chance with her again, but he’s not going to waste his shot. Denny might have lived his life as a playboy, just trying to get over his first (& only) love, but he puts in all the effort to prove he’s not that guy.

I loved Blair. Her young love with Denny was seriously the sweetest thing! I’ll never look at a soda without thinking about them. Her character was so relatable, the things she went through at a young/new adult age were so hard but she held on to her dreams and what she wanted out of her life.
This book is going to make you cry, you know it’s coming but it’s still going to hit you right where it hurts. Just know, this happy ending is seriously EVERYTHING.
“𝘚𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘢 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘸𝘪𝘧𝘦.”
The spice in this book deserves its own paragraph. DENVER. WELLS. IS. FERAL. No seriously, this man is obsessed with her and I ate it up! (Blair was more than capable of turning feral at the end! IYKYK) 😮💨

Dear Bailey, WHERE DO I FINE A MAN LIKE DENVER WELLS? That type of devotion is just next level, in and out of the bedroom. 🥹❤️🔥

I’m so sad I finished this book so quickly! I can’t wait to go back to Wells Ranch with Whit’s book next!

AHHHH-MAZING!! Definitely infinity stars!
Denver is top notch! And I never related so much to a female character as I did with Blair! This has definitely been my favorite one of the Wells Ranch Series! But then again I’ve loved them all!
“She spent years trying to forget. He’ll do anything to make her remember”
Denver and Blair were childhood boyfriend and girlfriend but life happened. Blair comes back after 14 years to help take care of her family. Denver has developed a reputation over the past 14 years. Then he sees her and the rest is history.
Thank you NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine

The next book in the Wells Ranch series is here. If you are a fan of second chance romance, this one is for you. Then, you add in that they were childhood best friends. YES PLEASE!
Blair is back in town and Denny is ready to have her back. Blair is resistant because of their past but Denny’s persistence pays off.
Let’s just say I cried a lot read this book. I’ve been so curious about what happy to Austin, Denny, and Jackson’s mom and I’m so glad we got that part of the story. Blair’s story with her family and taking care of her mom also got be a few times.
There is also a secret tattoo in this story. That’s hands down one of my favorite microtrope.

I swear Bailey and her Cowboys are 10/10 no notes. There is nothing I love more than a tortured soul and Denny was the man for this job.
Denver Wells as a whole character is 10/10 no notes, 🧎🏼♀️🧎🏼♀️🙂↕️
If simping for fictional men was wrong I don’t wanna be right.
Change of Hart, is the 3rd installment of Well Ranch and follows baby Wells in their dual timeline dual POV. Blair and Denny have loved each other their whole lives but seeing them grow together in the dual timeline is so special. I loved it so much, and I think a dual timeline is so hard to get right but Bailey killed it with representing their present conversations with their past and allowing us to see the growth between the issues and the love they faced.
If you love a cowboy romance then I cannot recommend the Wells Ranch enough. Her tropes are so good and she writes them so well.
Change of Hart, pulls at your heart strings in just the right places and makes you feel just enough love and angst towards them you become an honorary member of the Ranch.
If you love to read
-dual timeline
-dual POV
-second chance
-it’s always been you
-cowboy romance
-small town
-rancher/doctor
-childhood friends to lovers
-SHE MAKES HIM CRAWL
then Change of Hart is your kind of book!
Thank you Bailey, and NetGalley for the early copy for an honest opinion!

This is the perfect second chance romance! No unnecessary cheating, third act breakups, miscommunication, etc. Simply the right person at the wrong time, I loved everything about this book and I will never be able to recommend it enough. Thank you NetGalley for the wonderful arc.

THIS is what second chance romances are supposed to be! The angst, the emotion, the journey through their pain. Not to mention the absolute fire of reconnecting. Denver was down BAD for Blair and I’m here for it.
