Thank you to net galley for this audio arc. I really enjoyed it. It was suspenseful and twisted. I highly recommend it.

The Family Inside is a wild ride. This book really kept me guessing about what was going on. I had so many theories throughout the book and only one ended up being right. I really enjoyed the two different narrators for Iris and Ellory. It really added to the story and helped from getting the two characters confused.
I thought that the beginning of the book started off a little bit slow but once I started to see the twists unfolding I was hooked. This book really kept me guessing as to what was real and what people wanted you to think was real.
I'm a sucker for an unreliable narrator and this book delivered. At points, I wondered if everything that was happening was just in Iris's mind. This book also had some great villains. I could see why they were the way they were and the motives behind their actions.
The one thing that I didn't enjoy about the story is there was no resolution to her first husband's murder. I thought that was going to be an aspect of the story.
If you like books filled with dark family secrets that keep you guessing you're going to love The Family Inside.
Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing/MIRA for this ARC exchange for an honest review.

SPOILERS AHEAD
I enjoyed it at first…but once her daughter goes missing and the mother doesn’t seem to care didn’t read as realistic or relatable. In general I think the book is intriguing, and if you look past the frustrating main character, you will find a ton of secrets in this family. If you liked THE FAMILY GAME, you’d probably enjoy this book.

Overall, "The Family Inside" offers a gripping and twist-filled experience, making it a recommended read for fans of psychological thrillers.

This was so twisty. Stories within stories. It was a little challenging to follow until I hit that “ah ha” moment! Crazy messed up families and relationships a great read.

A 4.5/5 thriller!
I loved this! There is something about a twisty thriller on audiobook that makes time fly. I thought the narrator was great, the story was fast-paced, and the twists unpredictable. A perfect combo,

It took me awhile to write a review for this one because I wasn’t quite sure how I felt after I finished it. The book was interesting and had a ton of twists. I just felt like it was a bit too much by the time I got to the end. I definitely did not see the ending coming! Overall, I did enjoy listening to this audiobook. I suggest thriller fans give it a chance. Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin Audio for providing me with an ALC in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc of this one in exchange for an honest review!
This book follows a woman who moves in with her new boyfriend in a creepy house because hers got foreclosed on. Things quickly turn weird and her daughter goes missing.
Unfortunately, this book was not for me. I feel like we had such annoying characters. I really couldn’t get into the story at all because I disliked the characters so much. There were also a lot of cliches and tropes that i see in a lot of mystery/thriller books.
I listened to the audiobook and i did like the narrator.
Overall, I was not a fan of this one but I did like the audiobook.

I received an ARC of the audiobook and I freaking loved it!!!!! I am a huge fan of thrillers and this was a super twisty one, that I did not want to stop listening to! This one had so many twists and turns, it was a wild ride but soooo worth it! I was obsessed with this story from the very beginning! Once the twists started to unravel, I honestly didn’t know when they were going to stop, there was a lot to unpack with this story! I highly recommend this one!! Whether you’re newer to thrillers or a thriller addict like me, you will thoroughly enjoy this story! I also highly recommend listening to the audiobook version of this one if you have a chance! The narrator’s were amazing and really brought the story to life and felt like I was watching a movie!!

Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin Audio for this free audiobook.
What a journey this was! First off, the audio quality was excellent, and I really enjoyed the narrator's performance. However, the story took some time to fully capture my attention. It felt more like a drama centered around a wealthy family's secrets than a true thriller. The pacing was the biggest challenge for me—when the twists started unfolding later in the book, they were exciting, but then the momentum would slow down, making it feel a bit uneven. By the end, so much was happening that it became confusing, and I found myself needing to re-listen to parts. After the whirlwind of events, I was left feeling a bit disappointed by the conclusion. Overall, it wasn’t a bad read, but it was a bit too all over the place for my taste.

Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Audio for this audiobook copy.
So many juicy twists in this book! Loved the characters and the dark setting of Ravencliff. (Centuries old mansion is the perfect setting for a thriller)
Excellent narration on this story, I couldn’t wait to find out what happened next!

I very much enjoyed this book. Mom/daughter drama, moving into new boyfriends creepy home, weird things happening, the past coming back to get you. All things I absolutely love in my books!
•
The Family Inside is told in multiple points of view with a few excepts from the media this was a fast singable read. This is a super fast paced and addicting read;I absolutely devoured this in one sitting. There is the perfect balance of likable and unlikeable characters; there is the perfect amount of suspicion placed on characters and the drama is great.

Right when I was absolutely positive that I had figured out every single twist and turn that could possibly happen, Garner pulled the rug out from under me and hit me with the craziest twist. I was shocked and I absolutely LOVED this ending. It was perfect!

I listened to this one via audiobook. Emily Lawrence and Ashley Klanac were fantastic. They complimented each other well and they really brought this one to life for me.

Overall, a great read with a fantastic ending! Huge thank you to NetGalley, Katie Garner and Harlequin Audio for the ALC in exchange for my honest review.

This was an okay read. Not very memorable or stand-out-ish but I got through it fairly quickly. If an author is going to attempt an unreliable narrator, especially in first person, it has to be done very well. I'm not a fan of the twists that turn out to be tricks or lies. I prefer a thriller or mystery to be on the page, so that I had a chance of figuring out the ending. Call me traditional, but otherwise I feel like I'm being tricked. When a first person narrator completely blatantly lies to the reader throughout the book and then at the end suddenly retells the entire story with "the truth" - what was the point of the beginning of the book? Why lie to the reader in the first place if you're just going to admit the truth at the end anyway? To me, this is a bit lazy from a plot stand point. This book also had my other annoying new trope - dual timelines that aren't labeled as dual timelines - again to trick the reader. And again, the entire book is basically retold in the last few chapters.
I did enjoy the narrators in this audiobook. They did a good job. It was a fast read/listen and I did get through the entire thing. The house was creepy, the family equally so. I didn't find the relationship between the main character and her fiance all that believable. And I didn't really care all that much about any of the characters.
Readers who aren't annoyed by the two trends mentioned above will probably enjoy this story as they read it even if it isn't super memorable in the long run.
2.5 stars rounded up

Thank you to Katie Garner, Harlequin Audio and NetGalley for an ALC of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
I had a really good time reading this book! It had enough mystery that wasn't easy to figure out from the very beginning and kept me wanting to listen and see what was going on! I had a slight time keeping track of each of the characters and how they were related to eachother within the story but the intertwined plots were overall well done. This may have been less of an issue for reading the physical copy and more of an issue with myself as a listener than the book itself.
Overall well done and makes for a quick read for those who love the thriller/suspense genre!

Audiobook version- narration for this novel helped to tell the story in a more believable way, taking this from a DNF to a 3.5 star story. The twists— yes multiple— were well placed and thought through. The Family Inside was a wilder ride than I anticipated t

Slow. Very slow. The entire book dragged until the last 10 percent when the twists finally happen. The ending and the epilogue made the whole book worth the read.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5 Stars (Excellent)
Setting: A small town
Genre: Psychological Thriller
Atmospheric and suspenseful, The Family Inside is a gripping psychological thriller that keeps readers on edge from start to finish. From the moment Iris Blodgett and her daughter, Ellory, step into the eerie, centuries-old Ravencliff estate, the tension crackles, and the mystery deepens with each unsettling revelation.
The novel masterfully blends family drama with slow-burning suspense. Iris, a grieving widow drowning in debt, is a sympathetic protagonist, making her desperation—and ultimate acceptance of Hugh Smoll’s invitation—entirely believable. However, it’s the hidden family within Ravencliff that steals the show. The Smolls are far from welcoming, and their strange, secretive behavior adds an undeniable creep factor that intensifies as the story unfolds.
What sets The Family Inside apart is its rich gothic atmosphere. The crumbling mansion, the whispers of past tragedies, and the feeling that something—or someone—is always watching make for an immersive and unsettling reading experience. As Iris peels back layers of deceit, the novel builds to a chilling climax that delivers plenty of surprises.
If there’s one drawback, it’s that some twists feel slightly predictable, especially for seasoned thriller readers. However, the execution remains strong, and the psychological depth of the characters keeps the story engaging.
Overall, The Family Inside is a haunting, compulsive read perfect for fans of Riley Sager or Lisa Jewell. It’s a novel that lingers, making you question just how well you truly know the people closest to you. #netgalley #thefamilyinside #booked_this_weekend

Oh this was gooood. The Family Inside is an excellent thriller. It's twists and turns had me guessing up until the end. The voice acting was excellent.

Twist on top of twist, on top of twists- but in such a good way. This novel is the PERFECT example of how to keep readers on their toes. The build up to the twist was impeccable. I LOVED how Katie Garner incorporated the unraveling of the big “ta-da”. I’m at such a disadvantage because I don’t want to spoil it. I was caught off guard for sure. Overall a really great read!!! Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin audio for this ALC! I enjoyed the narrators and the pacing and overall presentation!

Wow! I’m still reeling from what I just listened to! This book grabbed me from the start and held on tight. I was addicted right away, really wanting to see what happens next.. Such a well written psychological thriller! So many unexpected twists, jaw drops and mind blowing revelations! Twisted in all the best ways!
This was my first book by this author but I’m definitely going to see what else she has written! My first five star read in awhile.
Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Audio for an ALC.
