Well this book was quite adorable and I love the unique storyline. A big advocate of rescue dogs myself, I am instantly drawn to any book that features them. With sweet illustrations and a positive message, this is a surefire hit with children and any dog lover.

This book is really cute, with a special visit from the dog Christmas to tie in to the author's adult series. My daughter (5) loved hearing about how Allie took care of the animals at the shelter ("she feeds them like I feed the cats mommy!") and was fascinated by the puppy sling. She loved all of the different name ideas, but Jack was her favourite as Halloween is her favourite holiday. We talked about how some animals go to the shelter and that's how they find their families, and also about the questions at the end and how, with one of the cats we adopted before she was born, we should have verified a bunch of information to know he wouldn't get along with our other cats at home. This book is excellent if you're looking to adopt a new animal. It has an information page at the end with things to discuss and consider, and helps kids understand the process a bit more. The illustrations are adorable, and Allie is just cute as a button. We really enjoyed this book! We read this ebook through NetGalley.

This is a fun story about adopting and naming a puppy.
The illustrations are colorful and detailed and will hold the attention of children. I liked that the book had a little information at the very end about what to consider before adopting a pet.

This was VERY cute and I love the way the different holidays were incorporated into the story and I like that it wasn’t just stating the main character could name them after different holidays. The illustrations are very cute though I would recommend maybe a different font that would be easier for children to read.

The font choice in Every Day Is a Holiday is fantastic—it’s clean and easy for children to read, but it also complements the book’s illustrations and overall tone. The whimsical, cozy feel of the art pairs perfectly with the cheerful and heartfelt story, making it an inviting read for young ones. The story itself follows Allie, a girl who helps out at an animal shelter, as she bonds with a puppy and struggles to find the perfect name for him. It’s an adorable concept, and the vibrant illustrations really bring the characters and emotions to life.

What I enjoyed the most about this book was its ability to subtly teach kids about compassion, kindness, and the joy of adopting animals from shelters. The relationship between Allie and the puppy is heartwarming, and the story does a wonderful job showing how small acts of love and care can turn any day into a celebration. The theme of naming the puppy to reflect a sense of holiday cheer is really sweet and adds a layer of warmth and fun to the story. Plus, the cute illustrations are filled with so much personality—they make the whole experience even more enjoyable.

This is definitely a book I’d recommend to families, especially those who are looking to adopt a pet or who already have one. It’s a heartwarming, feel-good story with the perfect balance of fun and meaningful messages. A lovely addition to any children's library!

Allie and her family run a local animal shelter. When a puppy is found on the doorstep one morning, Allie has the job of giving the pup a name. She goes through several names and finally decides on one she thinks will fit. Allie and her new puppy make great friends. Is there a hint at the end that another story might be forthcoming? There are questions at the end for those wanting to find a new puppy at a shelter. These are a great follow-up to the story. Bright and color illustrations makes this an enjoyable read!

What an adorable reminder to cherish life as it is! The ordinary AND the extraordinary. This will be the perfect read for children and parents who need a little extra reminder on rough days. The illustration is beautiful as well. The colors are perfect for the book! Not too harsh on the eyes.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. Here are my thoughts: you can’t go wrong with a dog book for kids! My 3yo daughter loved the dogs and animals in the illustrations. I don’t think she caught on to the text of the story walking through different holidays and then landing on Holiday as the dog name, but she liked it all the same!

Every day is a holiday is a heartwarming tale of loving pets, compassion and kindness towards animals. The story follows Allie McCray who finds an abandoned puppy in the local animal shelter that parents own. Upon multiple thoughts on what to name this cute pup, she still hasn't found the perfect name that would mesh well with this adorable pup's personality.

Her other dog who is named Christmas has been perfectly named so it is important to find one best suited.

This book is beautifully written and the morals of compassion, kindness and love towards animals is greatly conveyed. I appreciate the author's incredible writing style and the characters that she created. The illustrations are vivid and adorable. I loved it.

Highly recommend this book!

This was a lovely read! I enjoyed the concept of the dog being named in honor of spending time with your loved ones on holidays. The only critique I have is some of the lettering and spacing was off on my kindle. Certain words would be elongated and it did not seem to be part of the book. The length of the book was perfect and the illustrations were well done!

This was a very cute book! The overall story arc is darling. The writing keeps the story moving forward, and culminates in a very cute reveal. I personally feel the turkeys were not necessary, but this is a preference specific to me that others may not agree with. It did not specifically detract from the story. It is likely I will purchase for my nephew when it is released. I would recommend this book to others to purchase for children in their lives. Thank you for the advanced copy!

This was such a cute book. Even though I’m an adult, the dog lover in me was so excited to read this. I honestly think this would be a very fun read for kids or any dog lover. The illustrations were so simple and colourful which will get kids really engrossed in to this book. The author used very basic and short sentences which can help young children who are just stepping into school or beginning to learn English. Overall, I loved reading this book!

Cute read but it was just okay. It could be the ages of my kids that is skewing how I feel about the book. It is slightly "long" although not complex to keep the attention of my toddler but for my third grader it's not fully a chapter book either. I think it would be perfect for a slightly older child, if you're reading it to them since they cannot read yet.
