Thank you NetGalley for the eARC.

SPOILERS BELOW
I enjoyed this book a bit more than I did the first one. Part of that might have been that I listened to the audiobook for the first one (where the narrator kept making every single thing that Jas said sound sexual) but read the ebook of the second.
I still have issues with the fact that Jas is 17 and Hale is 21. Overall, I've not enjoyed their romance at all. It was insta lust and super boring. The fact that Crissa (Hale's future queen) is actually found alive, should've given some kind of tension but since Hale and Crissa have no history at all...it fell incredibly flat and felt like Jas was making it up to be an issue when it really wasn't. I liked Felicity and Misha's relationship a lot more and was really rooting for them.
The story itself was a lot more action than the first book, but was still incredibly repetitive between the two POVs. I have no idea how they didn't realize how to free Jas from her deal--the answer was obvious...so that story thread was way too drawn out and frustrating as a reader.
This wrapped up the story arcs pretty nicely and I like a happy ending (I really do!) but considering Jas saw all of those alternate realities of what could happen, it feels cheap that the reality she got was the happiest possible ending for her. It would have felt more realistic if there were actual hardships that she would have to endure. It's unreasonable that the only character that we actually know that died after that battle was Konner.

Thank you to the publisher for an arc of this book. Lexi Ryan just has a way of pulling you into her writing and it’s always a great time. I read the first book in this duology as an arc as well but hadn’t read the first series, These Hollow Vows. I think she did an amazing job explaining the world and the characters in a way that this series can be read as a standalone separate from the first series and I never felt confused.
I really enjoyed the dual POV from the two main fmc and the different struggles they go through. Jasalyns character arc was really well developed and definitely pulled at the heartstrings throughout. I also loved the mmc’s and side characters. The twists and turns and plot were all great too, I never felt bored.
Overall, I think this was likely exactly what the readers wanted after these hollow vows and it was delivered on a silver platter.

I am dnfing this book at 25% and really bummed about that since I love the original trilogy so much, obsessed even, and I quite enjoyed the first book in this spin off duology. I started this ARC months ago now and I only got a quarter of the way through it. Clearly not loving it. It’s so hard for me to connect to for some reason. Maybes it’s the fact that it jumps between two story lines and character POVS. When things start to get interesting the chapter ends and then you are forced to read about the other character. It’s a bit confusing, especially since I think I’ve forgotten key details from the previous book, and maybe could have benefited from a reread before starting this. I just lost steam with this sadly. I will probably still buy the beautiful hardcover when it releases, and try reading it again when I’ve done a reread of the other book, but this one unfortunately wasn’t able to grab me like I hoped, Thank you NetGalley for giving me the chance to read it.

Firstly, I want to thank NetGalley, Lexi Ryan, and HarperCollins for the eARC of Between These Broken Hearts. I was so excited to get an eARC and immediately re-read Beneath These Cursed Stars, so I could fully immerse myself again in this world.
This story picks back up after the major cliffhanger of finding out Felicity’s real identity and Jas going missing. One of my qualms with book one in this duology was how nonsensical and dramatic Jas was and how communicating could have solved 1000% of her problems. That being said, I think one of the points Lexi Ryan was trying to get across was the despair of depression and anxiety caused by trauma and how that kind of hardship makes you nonsensical or a bit irrational. Even knowing that, I still had a really hard time connecting with her character. Hale Kendrick on the other hand was a gem in this book and won me over. I think readers will swoon over him in this finale.
One of my FAVORITE parts of this duology was the budding relationship between Misha and Felicity. I secretly wish this duology had solely followed their story. I loved Misha from Ryan’s first duology in this world and fell more in love with him in this series. Felicity’s character to me is everything Jas’s character isn’t. She had her own trauma to overcome, but did it with grace and selflessness. I guess maybe that is one of the other lessons in this book is there is more than one way to overcome trauma and we each have to find our own way.
I think the ending seemed a bit rushed, once the climax hit resolution. Wish we had more concrete wrap ups with both couples, but ultimately I enjoyed this read. I think people who liked book one will also enjoy this read! Can’t wait for others to get a chance to check it out.

I didn’t realize this was part of a series. I hadn’t read the others in the series. So I was a bit lost. I would have liked this more if I would have know that.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC

I loved this duology, but this book gripped me harder than I expected. Both Jas and Felicity deal with anxiety, fear, grief and guilt, and the fights they each face to find their strength, hope, self worth and love, is both heartbreaking and yet the most beautiful journey. The romances between Jas and Kendrick, and Felicity and Misha, were so much fuller than in Beneath These Cursed Stars, and I loved how they showed couples who made each other stronger. I loved seeing Brie but wish there was more Finn, and would have loved some glimpse of Ronan again. I’m going to miss this world, and I will come back in a heartbeat if the author ever writes more there.

This was definitely better than the last! Besides the hiccup in the beginning with the 8 month time jump I did feel like this one moved a little bit faster. There were still moments where I predicted the solution and felt like I was waiting for the characters to catch up. But I feel like this was a perfect ending to this duology and series. Following both relationships and seeing how the characters grew from their struggles with anxiety, PTSD, and depression was great. I’m very happy with the way it ended and would say it was overall good. Not the best I’ve read but still great for YA readers.

I really enjoyed the Hollow Vow and Twisted Bonds books (previous duology) and was interested when I saw the author was creating a new series followed the previous main character's younger sister. In the first series, younger sister Jasalyn had a more damsel-in-distress role and had a plot role of someone her older sister needed to save. In Beneath These Cursed Stars and this book, Between These Broken Hearts, Jasalyn is a force to be reckoned with and has channeled all of her hurt and rage into her personal missions and vendettas. I found this a very riveting plot and character and liked how her past traumas lead her through trouble but then obvious growth as she tried to find her place in the dangerous and magical world around her.

I am so obsessed with how this series ended. It gave all the closure I needed, wrapped everything up with a bow, and still had me feeling every single emotion. I laughed, I swooned, I might’ve gotten a little misty-eyed. This was way more than just a romance. It packed such a lovely punch with themes of trust, growth, and learning how to get out of your own way emotionally. Big life lessons in a sparkly romance package. Loved it.
Misha and Felicity? Absolute stars. Their banter was so on point I was giggling and kicking my feet like a teenager. The chemistry, the tension, the way they challenged each other but still cared so deeply. I live for this kind of dynamic. Enemies to lovers but with depth and care and actual stakes. Perfection.
Jas and Kendrick were sweet, but I didn’t feel quite as connected to them this time around. Still, they had their moments, and I really appreciated how both Kendrick and Misha actually respected their partners. More romances need this level of emotional maturity. Like yes, please give me the feelings but also give me people who talk about them.
Now Brie. Sweet, iconic Brie. I just wanted one more moment with her. A little chapter. A peek into her world. Something to seal the deal and make my heart fully happy.
Okay, real talk. I was counting down the days for this book after finishing Beneath These Cursed Stars. That ending had me absolutely feral. So it was a bit of a bummer when the beginning of this one wrapped up all the tension too quickly. The pacing felt a little off and some parts dragged. I honestly think if the conflict had been stretched out a bit more, the whole thing would have landed harder.
That said, the love is still real. The characters are unforgettable, their struggles hit deep, and the emotional beats had me fully invested. I’m a little heartbroken this series is over, but I’m also so thankful it ended on such a strong note.
Also, can we start labeling spinoffs more clearly? I was lucky I read the original duology, but it would be so nice to know going in.

After the third book I had little patience waiting for this one. The third book ended on a cliffhanger and emotional turmoil. I was truly worried it wouldn’t get the happily ever after that I wanted it to have. Luckily-it did.
Lexi Ryan created a character that a lot of women can finally relate to. Not just her personality and the validity of her feelings, but her looks as well. We have a main character who is flawed and behind to recognize the flaws that make her undoubtedly who she is and the flaws that she needs to work on to be a better person and friend.
The romance in this book is just enough for a YA to keep the plot going without making it seem too much like an adult romantacy.
I loved some of the little surprises we got throughout this book. Lexi Ryan didn’t have that as much in the other three. I look forward to more books my Lexi Ryan and plan on reading her previous books, even though they weren’t fantasy.
Thanks NetGalley for giving me this arc in exchange for an honest review.

Between These Broken Hearts was one of my most anticipated books of this year and the conclusion to this did not disappoint. Based off the events that happened in the last book I had no idea how Jaslyn or Felicity were going to get out of the situation they were in. I truly loved how we saw both characters grow and learned to appreciate their minds and bodies. This story truly dealt with anxiety and depression and trauma so well. There was some good romance - not particularly spicey- but they both felt a bit rushed. Wished we would have had a bit of each of these characters stories of what they went through in the previous duology. (We knew that Jaslyn was held and tortured but I would have liked to have had a deeper connection to Hale.) the dual pOVs was wonderful in how we learned about Jaslyns past and I loved how it eventually gave us two HEAs in this book. This duology and the one that came before by Lexi. Ryan are some of my favorite romantasy’s in recent years and I highly recommend these stories.

I absolutely adored the first two books In These Hollow Vows series. So, I thought I’d enjoy the spinoff centered around the sister Jas. It just wasn’t the same for me. It did not capture my attention like the previous books and I had to force myself to keep reading. It is kind of like the author decided to add on extra books due to the popularity of the original SO these two additional books lack in substance compared. It’s like they were an afterthought so they fit the plot/world but it’s giving forced. .

LEXI RYAN DID THAT!!!
Ugh. I was literally so stoked when I found out we were getting a whole duology of Jas (and Misha) and this absolutely did not disappoint. Lexi does such an amazing job incorporating the complexities of depression and anxiety into her writing and I truly felt like it was so well handled. I think this is 100% a story that is going to help people feel less alone when they find themselves stuck in the dark.
Thank you SO much for giving me the honor of reading this one early. <3

Book Review: Between These Broken Hearts by Lexi Ryan
Rating: 4/5
Lexi Ryan delivers an emotional punch with Between These Broken Hearts, a story filled with longing, second chances, and the ache of unresolved love. This contemporary romance dives deep into heartbreak and healing, while still serving up the kind of chemistry and drama that will keep you turning pages long into the night.
The main characters are beautifully flawed, navigating past mistakes and buried secrets with a raw vulnerability that feels authentic. Ryan’s strength lies in her ability to craft emotionally resonant scenes—you feel every stolen glance, every painful memory, and every tentative step toward forgiveness.
The romance is second-chance at its finest—messy, passionate, and ultimately hopeful. If you love stories where characters have real history, unresolved tension, and a whole lot of heartache to work through, this one will hit the mark.
Spice Level: Moderate to high—emotional intimacy blends with physical connection perfectly.
Perfect for fans of: second-chance romance, emotional angst, and small-town love stories with big feelings.

I really enjoyed this whole story and thought this was a nice ending to the story. This is the fourth book in the These Hollow Vows series. The first two books follow the older sister Bree and the last 2 follow her younger sister Jasalyn and an Eco who can shift into other peoples forms named Felicity.
I really love the relationships that are built upon from the first book between Jasalyn and Kendrick, and Felicity and Misha. The banter between both couples is great and I enjoyed watching both relationships develop.
I thought the themes of healing and anxiety/depression were well written and portrayed. I loved the arc that Jasalyn had. She really went on a journey of personal growth and healing throughout these two books to the end.
I was satisfied with the ending of this series and thought these books were a fun read! Thank you so much to NetGalley and Harper Collins Children’s Books for the providing me the digital ARC of this book.

Between these Broken Hearts is the second book in this YA Duology. Stakes are high from the start, and I was hooked at page one. Racing against time to stop the return of an evil that will destroy everything, while fighting their own inner battles, I found it impossible to put this book down! Lexi Ryan writes characters that feel like close friends, so when their hearts break or their plans fail or when they do something particularly badass, you are right there feeling all the feelings along with them.
We have mental health rep, magic, some political intrigue, romance that will have you begging to give these characters just a moment of peace, and a beautiful story about all the different journeys people take to find who they really are. For fans of FMCs like Nesta Archeron and Kat Ferrers, these characters will make you laugh with their snarky comments and cry through their struggles, and you won’t be able to keep yourself from turning the page to find out what happens next.

A wonderful read!
This novel drew me in from the very first page and kept me hooked until the end. The characters were vibrant and relatable, the writing was engaging, and the story had just the right balance of heart and humor. Highly recommend!
Many thanks to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for my ARC. All opinions are my own.

Thank you so much for this review copy. I was obsessed with the first 2 books and was so excited when I was able to secure a copy of this. I am in love with all of the characters and the plot. The authors writing is something I have also enjoyed as well, Lexi has a way of gripping you into the story and never wanting to leave. When this book is released im 100% going to reread the whole series and even annotate.

Between These Broken Hearts was absolutely incredible. I loved this just as much as the first book—maybe even a little more—and it was the perfect ending to the duology. Lexi Ryan knows exactly how to deliver all the angst, heartache, and healing I could ever want in a story.
The emotions in this book felt so raw and real. The characters' growth, the twists and turns, and the deep, messy love between them kept me completely hooked from start to finish. Every moment felt earned, and the resolution was so satisfying while still staying true to the emotional journey they had been through.
It’s rare for a sequel to live up to such a strong first book, but this one delivered everything I hoped for and more. I know I’ll be thinking about these characters for a long time.
Truly a perfect finale. I couldn’t have asked for anything better. 💔❤️

I got to be honest, this was a 3.5 for me. For some reason this one didn't quite work for me. Maybe it was the choppy format. Between Jasalyn and Felicity it made it hard to keep up between them, especially with Felicity still taking Jasalyn's form still.
There was a lot of character growth, they both seem to finally accept themselves. And their roles, both prophesied and to be revealed. And reconcile with their families. But it has a nice resolution for all the characters involved.
I really loved all the other books in this series, and the characters, even the first book in this spin off duology, but this last book felt both like there was more that should have been let out sooner, and it felt a bit rushed and condensed in the end. Not a solid as I wanted.
