Thanks you to the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC! Reading this book made me so excited for summer, and as someone who grew up going to Cape Cod, I felt a lot of nostalgia with this book. However, I thought, overall, it was a little too drawn out with storylines that never really went anywhere. I did think the characters were really well-presented and we got to know each of them well. The only exception I think would be Teddy, I wish we had learned a little more about him. I think maybe I wasn't the right audience for this book, as the premise is about a woman in her 40s navigating divorce, new love, and a summer with her teenaged children. However, I did enjoy reading it and it was a fun, light-hearted read that will be a perfect summer beach read!

Summer Light on Nantucket by Nancy Thayer was an okay read. She’s one of my favorite authors. This book, however, was too drawn out with not enough of a story line. There were too many insignificant details. All that said, I loved each character, except for one. I enjoyed Celeste the most b
I would recommend this book to anyone that loves Nacy Thayer novels. It’s also a good beach read.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC. Reading a Nancy Thayer novel during a snowstorm makes me yearn for summer. This felt like a little different read for me. First we have Blythe, a divorced mother of 4, navigating a summer on Nantucket with her children. Their summer guest is her eldest's boyfriend which takes Blythe back to her first love. Bob, her ex, has moved on to a woman her children like. Blythe maintains a great relationship with her former mother in law, Celeste. Nothing is ever simple and there is definitely drama - family, sibling, new love and a health scare. So well written that I couldn't put it down. Nancy Thayer has hit it out of the park once again!

I love everything Nancy Thayer writes and this was no exception. Drew me in right from page one and I couldn’t read fast enough because I wanted to know what would happen to this family. I loved the characters, the family dynamics, and the relationships between them. Make room in your beach bag for this one this summer.

I enjoyed reading this book by Nancy Thayer as I have all of her books. Blythe is a divorced mother of four and the family spends the summer on Nantucket in the home she inherited. Celeste is her former mother-in-law, and they still have a loving relationship spending time together when they are there for the summer. With three teenagers and a younger daughter, there is a lot of drama and constant action. Blythe is friendly with her ex and his girlfriend, but they are each keeping a secret from one another. Celeste has some health issues that are concerning, but she is also enjoying spending time with her new friend Roland. A fantastic read! I received an advanced reader copy of this book from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.

When I envision the “Summer Light on Nantucket” I see the Steamship Authority ferry docking with hopeful visitors yearning for sun, sand and relaxation. I imagine myself on the deck of my summer rental (only in my dreams), watching the sunrise over another glorious day. I love to walk on the beach at sunset, so I guess I should add that to my summer wishlist, too. Nancy Thayer gives us all of this plus emotional family drama, the beauty and magic of the island, and the excitement of starting over and having the world at your fingertips.

Blythe Benedict doesn’t have to wish for anything because she spends every summer on Nantucket with her four children. As they have gotten older, Blythe has allowed them more freedom which has given her time to seek out new interests, spend time with summer friends, and possibly fall in love again. She never could have imagined that her high school boyfriend would appear on the island like a freak storm on a sunny day. Aaden may have broken her heart all those years ago but she “had never stopped loving him,’ and was shocked when all her memories rushed to the surface as she gazed into his eyes. I fell in love with how deeply Aaden still felt about Blythe and what he would do to win her back. This was all too much for Blythe but she couldn’t shake the feeling that fate had brought Aaden back to her so she could love again. Aaden wasn’t the only summer visitor who caught Blythe’s eye and she soon realized that she had a big decision to make, while also dealing with her children, her mother-in-law and her ex-husband. It’s just another perfect summer on Nantucket and Blythe wasn’t about to let anyone get in the way of her happiness!!

Loved this latest book from Nancy Thayer, one of my favorite authors. A summer story set in Nantucket, where Blythe's live comes full circle. A fun cast of Blythe's family and also her ex's, makes for an uplifting story.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC

First off, I want to say I love Nancy Thayer. Will make an awesome beach reads pool reeds, summer reads. She also writes about nantucket so it's definitely on my bucket list to go there. In Thayer's latest telling about a summer on nantucket, we have bly, who is a few years removed from her divorce from her four kids (preteen/teen years) dad, she is off to spend her summer in her nantucket house that she was left by her grandmother. Her ex mother in law also lives on the beach, and they have remained great friends on her first night there, she happens to run into her first love who abandoned her for his family business. She also meets a new man, courtesy of her bestie, who she's also attracted to I understand what's- there is a lot of different storylines with the kids, her mother-in-law and the ex-husband and his new girlfriend. It's a very, very good summer read, awesome for the beach., awesome for the pool Thayer does it again! Highly recommend

Nancy Thayer out did herself. Summer Light on Nantucket is one of her best books. I loved getting to know Blythe and her 4 kids. I enjoyed seeing how her summer evolved - seeing how she navigated an old love and a new one. Blythe handled motherhood like no other. I wish the story would have not ended. Thank you NetGalley for the ARC. And thank you Nancy Thayer for an excellent story!

Summer Light on Nantucket is another light-hearted read from one of my favorite authors. Typical family life with the typical drama queen teenage antics, and secrets revealed. New love and remembering the love of an old flame. It's all here in a beachy Nantucket setting of sea breezes and warm sunshine. I didn't want this book to end. Thanks to the author Nancy Thayer, Random House/ Ballantine Books, and NetGalley. I received a complimentary copy of this ebook. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

A wonderful portrayal of modern families.
Blythe is a divorced Mom of 4 heading for a summer in Nantucket at her house that was left to her by her Grandma. She has memories of her first love from high school, Aaden. He left her to go to Ireland with his family and stayed. Both married and divorced during the years apart.
He turns up in Nantucket and wants her back.
She also meets a new man Nick and falls for him.
All this creates confusion along with the regular confusion of life with children.
Delightful storyline. Beautifully written, like being
in Nantucket myself. I loved it.

Blythe is a divorced mom of four heading to Nantucket for the summer. The chaos of the kids, her unexpected reunion with her first love, an attraction to a new man, her friendship with her ex mother in law….this book will keep you entertained! Nancy Thayer is tried and true for stories of family, summer, and Nantucket. This one is no exception. A great summer read!

I am a HUGE fan of Nancy Thayer and her novels. She evokes something magical with her pen about the places she writes about. It was dreamy to retreat to a summery Nantucket while the world seemed to freeze and I swear I could feel the warm breeze on me as I sat alongside Blythe on the beach! I also want to find this magical tiny bedroom where she spent her childhood years and curl up there with a book!

While I loved all the scenic settings the romance didn't woo me like hers normally do but it could be the fault of the dragon story I read prior to this book.

If you need an escape book though this is it!

Thank you to NetGalley and Ballantine for an eARC copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review.

Blythe and her family of four children are on Nantucket for the summer. Each of her children have distinct personalities, so it’s easy to remember who’s who. She has been divorced for a few years and is re-awakening and ready to consider the possibility of love in her life again. And the book takes off from there. I enjoyed this latest from Nancy Thayer, one of the queens of the beach read genre. The main plot line as well as each subplot kept me interested, and I finished this book in less than 24 hours. I will say the plot didn’t go where I expected, and I like that. I particularly enjoyed the character of Celeste; we should all be lucky enough to have a Celeste in our lives! The story is believable and moved at a good pace. I definitely recommend this book because I could relate to more than one character and for the other reasons previously noted. An easy, enjoyable read — the only thing better would have been to actually be on the beach while I was reading it!

First love or true love, Blythe must decide what she wants in life. A few years after her divorce, she has decided it is time to find someone else to love. Follow Blythe in making decisions for her family, her ex-husband and her ex-mother in law.

I felt completely transported to Nantucket as Blythe decides what is best for her. A sweet read, a beach read, a need to feel something kind of book. Nancy Thayer does it again.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC. So glad that I didn't wait to read this.

Nancy Thayer delivers yet another delightful novel that transports readers to the idyllic shores of Nantucket, capturing the essence of summer with vivid detail. Three years after her divorce, Blythe arrives on Nantucket with her four children, ready to embrace the possibilities of the season. Unexpectedly, she crosses paths with her high school sweetheart, who hopes to rekindle their romance, while also catching the eye of a charming summer visitor introduced by a close friend. As if that weren’t enough, her mother-in-law’s hospitalization brings her ex-husband back into the picture, creating a whirlwind of emotions and challenges. While the story leans toward predictability, its heartfelt moments and cozy narrative make it a quintessential feel-good read—perfect for a summer escape.

Thank you Net Galley for this copy of Summer Light on Nantucket by Nancy Thayer. Divorced Blythe and her four children are headed to Nantucket for the summer. Between her oldest teenager's angst over her boyfriend, and the usual childhood ups and downs of her other three children, Blythe's summer has thrown in some other complications as well. Her first love shows up, but she finds she is also attracted to someone else. She spends the rest of her summer debating with some decisions she needs to make about the direction she wants out of life.
This is a typical beach read, meaning a very predictable and repetitive plot with likable enough characters.
