Dixie is hoping to tell her best friend, Sawyer, that she is in love with him during her annual summer vacation. She wants to ignore that she ghosted him during spring break, and things have changed. We learn that Dixie's family has a gift to "rewind." During this rewind, she can change one event.

This was a cute story. I enjoyed following Dixie navigate her friendship, how others' rewinds impact her, and her personal choices. I might not have understood every reference to the movies, but I enjoyed how the theme was throughout the story. Dixie's growth from a self-centered teenager to a young adult who was self-aware of the needs of those around her.

I love the idea of being able to use a Rewind power to be able to go back and try to fix your mistakes in the past. Dixie wants Sawyer back, and she's willing to use that power to be able to right the wrongs. I'm sure we all wish we had a power like that!

I felt really underwhelmed and bored by this and combined with the fact that I think I’m finally aging out of reading YA contemporary I decided to dnf this book.

This was a fun story with so many twists…literally sooooo many twists you will be shaking your head!
Reading this made me realize the importance of speaking up for yourself and honesty is the best policy.
Though the story did seem to drag on in some parts, it was a ok read for me.
Thank you netgalley, the publisher and author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own

I love a paranormal play on a generally cute story and, so far, Molly Morris has not disappointed me. I always have to remind myself with YA that the drama is often simple and not something I personally would find so intense, but I like how Morris created small town communities and found family moments. I didn’t really feel the chemistry between the two love interests (honestly, I found the side plot romance to be way cuter), but I liked the dynamics of restoring the local movie theater. In general I love people coming together to support a local business. I liked the way the family dynamics evolved throughout and there’s some great lessons for a young person struggling to connect with their parents. The paranormal aspect was well done, just a touch to make it believable, which I always enjoy.

This was such a sweet and funny novel! I loved reading it, the whole story was joyful and innovative. Two qualities that I love in a book! The characters were fun and fresh, the plot clever and not overly descriptive. I easily pictured most of the scenes from this story. I really loved it. This is a very promising author!

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the freeARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Thank you Wednesday Books and NetGalley for an e-arc of Rewind To Us by Molly Morris in exchange for an honest review.

DNF'd at 15% into this book. It just really felt like every cliche teen rom-com trope of miscommunication, best friends that don't know what to do with feelings for each other mixed with the movie Click. I found myself getting annoyed very early on with the FMC and the fact that this was set very much in modern day and yet they have to use a fax machine. That part felt a little unreal to me given fax machines are really not used anymore for any reason.

The whole concept of the rewinding to a certain event is all good and fine but why the hell does this one family have the ability of this. I would've loved for that to be explained right off the back.

Any way, this just wasn't the right book for me. I do love all the fantasy released by Wednesday Books. Maybe I've just out grown YA contemporary rom-coms.

3.5 stars!!!

After really enjoying this author's previous book, I had pretty high expectations going into this and for what feels like the first time ever, I wasn't super disappointed! While this wasn't a favorite, I still had a pretty good time reading this. I think this author does a really good job writing characters that go through a ton of personal growth. The main character in this is much more mature (and admittedly less annoying) that she was during the beginning. I don't really understand how the "rewind" works but I don't think that it was super necessary to have it super flushed out since the book is more about the romance than the lowkey *horror* that this whole family can decide to change things in their lives and literally everyone around them's lives. I think if this was an adult novel, the author could've defined the rules and the how of the magic a bit more but as a YA novel, it was exactly what it needed to be. A quick, fluffy, YA contemporary. I don't think Molly Morris will ever write a book that I'm OBSESSED with, but that won't stop me from picking up her future books!

If you could change your past regrets, would you? We all have regrets, and we have a desire to change them, but how would those different decisions alter our worlds?

Review:
Time travel stories aren’t usually my thing, but this one completely drew me in. Morris has created a unique and magical, young adult, time travel romance, with elements masterfully tailored to the intended age group, while also offering meaningful reflections that connect with readers of all ages. The smitten character of Dixie, the humorous, yet loving Bunny, and of course, all the realistic adults scattered throughout are deeply relatable and loveable characters. This coming of age plot line brings to life the warmth of love and the loss of heartache. The overall themes are based on second chances versus allowing the past to rest. This is a light hearted, loveable, fast paced read, which I found deeply engaging and would gladly recommend it to others.

Everyone has had these moments, where as soon as you’ve said or done something (or haven’t said or done the right thing), you wish you could take it all back and redo the whole thing. Dixie’s family is magical, in the sense that every single person in the family gets one rewind of a situation.
Dixie messed up when she didn’t show up for a date in Central Park with Sawyer, who she has been in love with for years. Now he is dating perfect Claire and Dixie just wants to take it all back.

I have read my fair share of YA books, but I really loved this one! The characters were refreshing and nicely thought out, the plot and storyline fell nicely into place and was able to surprise me a couple of times.
Great read for someone who is into timey-wimey stuff and also loves a sweet romance.

I was so pleasantly surprised by this book! In the first part I thought it was going to be a pretty typical "About Time" style story, but then the big reveal in the middle really made me fall in love with it. The first love and realistic teenage angst depictions are great, but when the story also becomes a love story about family and friendship it really blossoms. You'll extra love this one if you are a movie lover like me!

A huge thank you to NetGalley, St. Martin’s Press, and Molly Morris for the opportunity to read this great ARC!

This YA book is written from the POV of Dixie. Every year she goes to California to spend the summer with her aunt, cousin, and best friend, Sawyer. Dixie just so happens to be in love with Sawyer. After messing up any chances she had with him, Dixie is looking to use her Rewind to go back in time and fix things with Sawyer. What’s a Rewind you ask? Well every Mulligan family member gets the chance to use one Rewind in their life. This allows the person to redo the moment they regret. All Dixie has to do is apply for it… sounds simple enough until Dixie is faced with complications and realizations. Will she end up using her Rewind? Guess you’ll have to read it to find out! 😉

I really enjoyed this book! It’s super cute, yet still has depth + reflection. I definitely wasn’t expecting the twists, but they totally made the book for me! The friends and family in this book made such an amazing community + support system. It was hard not to fall in love with the side characters, especially Dixie’s aunt and cousin! If you’re looking for an all-around great YA romance book, then I definitely recommend you check Rewind to Us out!

It’s available now 💕

Rewind to Us by Molly Morris is a standalone YA time travel romance novel and it was pretty darn interesting. I thought it would be okay, but it fared better than expected.

First off, I love a good time travel story, regardless of the subgenre! But this one was cute. Due to the family’s rule of only being able to go to the past one time within 1 calendar year is already restrictive enough, but anything can go wrong in the process. Hence the rules.

Overall, this was a fun story and I liked it. It definitely has potential to grow into something big. With that being said, some of the writing could flow a little easier. I was taken out of the moment a multiple times, but I eventually got through it.

If you are into YA, time travel, romance, family dynamics, family secrets, and just a teenager’s coming of age type of story, then this is for you! So, dive on in and check it out.

Other books to check out by Molly are This Is Not The End and Annie LeBlanc Is Not Dead Yet

Rewind to Us is a YA romance that imagines getting a second chance to make things right.

At the center of the story is Dixie, a girl who becomes someone else every summer. During those trips, she becomes who she wants to be — working and living in a small town, spending time with her aunt, cousin and best friend, Sawyer.

Dixie is in love with Sawyer, but messed things up, and is desperate to fix them, even if it means changing history.

Dixie is a likeable enough character, as is Sawyer and the rest of the supporting cast. They’re all well developed and experience growth throughout the novel.

Where the story gets a little muddy is in the “rewind” process itself. It’s not really clear how they work or why Dixie’s family can do the rewinds. And how did Dixie’s grandmother get the power to work them in the first place.

If you can set those questions aside and just accept that rewinds can/do happen, then the story flows pretty well. And honestly, it’s the relationship Dixie and Sawyer have built on their love of all things film that really carries the story.

Rewind to Us is a fast-moving read that fun and perfect for the summer.

Note to self: really need to master the fine art of DNF-ing, because this one just wasn’t it. The premise? Super intriguing—rewinds, timelines, romance potential—it had all the ingredients of a book I should have loved. But the actual read? Like wading through molasses in flip-flops >_<

The characters felt distant, the romance took forever to show up (seriously, nearly the last chapter?!), and the pages were packed with internal monologues and repetition. Dialogue was scarce, and the pacing made me feel like I was stuck in a time loop of my own. And don’t even get me started on the confusing timeline jumps that hinted at big things but never quite delivered.

Thank you for NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

rewind to us - was an interesting story. definitely not what i expected (a cute time slip/travel romcom) there was a huge plot of romance & stuff but it didn't feel like the point of the story. i liked dixie's character development through the story, her wanting to use her rewind and then her choice in the end. i wasn't sure if i was supposed to even root for sawyer and her until i found out harvey was gay bc he sounded like a valid love interest lmao.

I gave this 4 to 4.5 stars. I really enjoy reading from this author. Every book she writes has some kind of magical realism to them. So the whole part of the character going back and doing a rewind in life which you only get one of reallyhadme intrigued. Because I wonder what would be my own rewind so this book had me questioning what I would. I enjoyed the writing. So of the chaotic on my nerves but of course they were teenagers but over all the story was good. This book will most definitely be mentioned on my honorable mentions at the end of the year

This was such a fun, cute book! The main premise is also very unique, something I've never read before. I would have liked to hear more about the rewinds and the rewind process, but that's ok. The story between Dixie and Sawyer was just so cute!
(Thanks to NetGalley for the advanced e-book, even if I forgot to read it before it actually came out (whoopsie). All opinions are my own.)

Thank you, NetGalley, for an e-ARC of Rewind To Us by Molly Morris.
Rewind To Us is a young adult romance novel that is perfect for movie buffs. Spotlighting a privately owned movie theater that is struggling to reopen after a fire, this novel weaves several characters into the plot to add romance, comedy, and tension. Adding magical realism, Molly Morris, creates a story perfect for teens hoping for second chances. The mysteriousness at the beginning of the book made it hard to follow, the rhythm picked up about a third of the way in. This will be a good romance recommendation for younger teens and those looking for a clean read.
