Thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for an early release audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

3.5 stars

Bree and Jake live in a not very safe area near his job as a patrolman. After several incidences, they move farther away to a bigger place in a better neighborhood. Some strange things are happening in their new home and Jake is struggling at home and work. Is it mental health or more supernatural?

I enjoyed Andi Arndt and George Newbern's narration.

Such an enjoyable thriller!I wasn’t exactly sure where the story was going for a while, it could have easily taken us down a couple different paths, I not only enjoyed the path the book took but also appreciate it not being predictable! The audio version was multi cast and easy to listen to/follow.

Thank you to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for the audio ARC!

"Every Fall" fell flat for me.

WHY?
I was not the right reader for this thriller exploring the dark side of police culture and family trauma.

Unfortunately, the publisher's blurb was inaccurate.

There was no mention of "horror" and "paranormal" in the publisher's blurb.

As the book progressed, the "horror" and "paranormal" elements appeared.
😭😭😭😭

I am not a fan of the "horror" and/or "paranormal" genres.

Readers were warned upfront about domestic abuse, also not one of my favorite genres.

I selected the book because I was enticed by my two favorite narrators, Andi Arndt and George Newbern.

Both narrators did an outstanding job with the narration.

Special thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

It was good but not that thrilling. I feel like the paranormal aspect really took a back seat. Hated the husband but I think that was the point.

A very good debut thriller/police procedural with elements of paranormal and horror. Merging all of these genres can be tricky, but it worked well here. George Newbern and Andi Arndt are excellent in the audiobook production. I love this cover!

Bree is new to being a first responder spouse and living the rough East Bernheim, nicknamed Burner, has left her feeling even more uneasy. Her husband Jake recently had a run in with a gang that has found where they live. Hoping to have safer place to raise their children, Jake and Bree rent a home an hour away from Burner. Things seem to be improving and while a Jake is home for paternity leave, a tragic call comes in from his department. Jake begins to spiral with grief, guilt, and stress, leaving Bree feeling isolated and alone with their 2 children. Bree feels like someone is in the new house with her. She's seeing things that aren't there and doesn't know who to turn to since Jake has pulled away.

This book had my jaw dropping and I couldn't stop listening. Its a mystery/thriller with paranormal aspects. It takes a look at policy culture, post partum depression and PTSD all wrapped up in a haunted house mystery! The narrators were great (George Newbern might be one of my favorite male narrators), and I binged this book!

Thank you to NetGalley, Dreamscape Media and Angela Douglas for the ALC for review.

I listened to the audiobook and these are two of my very favorite narrators, they did an amazing job as always! I was shocked to learn that this was the author’s debut novel, I just discovered while looking for more to read by her! Brilliant new author and if this is her first book, I can’t even imagine how good her next ones will be. I was captivated immediately- I listened to it in less than a day! Part police procedural, part domestic drama, part supernatural- a little bit of everything packed in and it all worked well together! Highly recommend this one!
