A really great romcom full of banter, funny moments, deep emotions and true feelings. Mackenzie and Jace are great together even if he is a spy and she leads a very normal life. When she become his asset, can they fight their attraction or will they become a couple forever? Great as always, I love Meg’s stories. The audiobook with Hallie Bee Bard and Rusty Mewa is awesome

MacKenzie is a physical therapist who loves spy movies and pretending she is shaking a tail while driving home. Only she doesn't know she actually is being watched after someone mistakes her a the target for an information drop, and they make the drop in her bag!

Enter international spy Jace. He was tasked with surveillance for the drop and sees the it made to someone he knows, the girl he helped escape a bad date the day before. When Jace first saw MacKenzie in that restaurant, he could tell her date was a jerk that she wanted to ditch, so he helped her out. It is just a coincidence that she is here now, and he knows she wasn't the intended target. After setting up her bag being stolen and spilled so they can grab the information, Jace is again her hero when he gets her bag back to her.

MacKenzie thinks it must be fate when Jace shows up again at her work to ask her on a date. Jace, however, is now tasked with protecting MacKenzie as an asset since the bad guys think she has their information. A fake relationship will let him stay close, and he actually likes spending time with this woman. But he needs to remember that spies can't fall for their asset.

This book was such a fun, cute read! It's told from dual POV by MacKenzie and Jace, who are both very loveable characters. There is great banter, and it is fun to see their relationship development. Cute, clean romance with a fun spy action twist. It ends with the setup for book 2 that I will be checking out soon!

This was a very enjoyable book!! Parts had me laughing uproariously. My husband was looking at me like I’d lost my marbles because I was laughing so hard. That alone should get you to listen to this book!

Jace and Mackenzie are entirely their own people and are entirely perfect for each other.

LOL fun! I had so much fun listening to this audiobook. I've read it before but for how much I loved it the first time, I loved this dual narration almost more!

There are no swears, no alcohol, and level 1 lightly descriptive kisses only. Dual POV.

A super sweet and fluffy spy rom-com! It’s adorable and I had a smile on my face when I was listening to the audiobook. Narrators were so good! I can’t wait to read the rest of the series!!

This is a closed door romance, which makes it sweet, but it certainly doesn’t feel like it’s missing a thing! This story would be great for both those who love a closed door and those who like it spicy, because the storyline will keep you pulled into the story the entire way through.

I listened to the audiobook version of this story, which was well done by two narrators. I listened at 1.75x speed (my normal audiobook listening speed).

This was an awesome romantic comedy that felt like a Hallmark Movie! There's action, adventure, and falling in love!

I loved the relationship between Jace and Mackenzie! Their serendipitous meet cute was swoon worthy! Their banter was well written! I loved that this book is duel POVs!

This is a clean, easy read that draws you in because of the personalities of the characters and the clever bantering and dialogue throughout the book. This was a cute book that definitely appeals to the spies lovers. He's a spy and she accidently becomes an asset. There are a lot of moments that are definitely too coincidental and a little cheesy but overall it was a sweet read and a lovely audiobook.

This was a cute fluffy spy read. It’s more of a romcom than a spy novel but it’s endearing. It reminds me of Hallmark did spy stories.. oh wait.. it would fit on Hallmark Movies and mysteries a bit!


I am thankful to have gotten the ALC for free from Dreamscape Media through NetGalley to read which gave me the opportunity to voluntarily leave a review.

This book came out in the summer of 2023 but the audiobook is being launched on January 21,2025 which is why the ALC.

The narrator’s Hallie Bee Bart and Rusty Mewha did a good job with the recitation and thankfully spoke at a natural pace for 1x speed. Hallie’s voice was a bit high pitched which gets a bit much and makes the FMC seem much younger than she is.

As for the story is was fluffy as i said above. A lot of suspension of disbelief is needed for the spy angle but that’s ok as it’s a romcom. It was enjoyable enough that I put the other books in the series (interconnected standalone) on my TBR when I need a palate cleanser.

My rating system since GoodReads doesn’t have partial stars and I rarely round up.

This romantic comedy was a lot of fun and really exciting! My attention was held on the edge of my seat by this captivating, fast-paced, and exciting mystery plot!

I adored Jace's strong protection and his status as the epitome of a swoon-worthy spy. He treats Mackenzie with such sweetness, and I adore that we get to meet his wonderful family, who will soon have their own stories!

Mackenzie is the epitome of sunshine and happiness, and I loved that she’s pushing herself to venture beyond her comfort zone.

I really enjoyed this book. It's a great mix of romance, comedy, and suspense. And of course, there's a happy ever after.

The audiobook version makes the story even more enjoyable. The soothing voices of narrators Hallie Bee Bard and Rusty Mewha really bring the characters to life. The audio version of this book is good. It has dual narration which is my favorite when it comes to audiobooks. The female and male narrators do a very good job at embodying the characters in the book.

The story was cute I love a forced relationship turned into a real relationship story.

Would recommend to others and buy a physical copy of this book.
