📚 Review: 3.5/5 stars 🌟
A huge thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the ALC! 🙏
This was a quick, pleasant, and easy like Sunday morning read 🌞! ☕️ It's full of tropes, but they're done well 🤩. Nothing too crazy or out of the ordinary, but still cute and enjoyable 😊.
The story has a bit of a cookie-cutter vibe 🍪, but it's still a fun read. I loved Maci, the protagonist - she's a sweet and relatable character 🤗. The irony of her being a romance author writing about a single father hockey player and a nanny (which is basically the plot of the book 😂) is not lost on me!
Logan, the single father hockey player, has a heartbreaking backstory 💔, and his daughter's mother's death is connected to Maci in a surprising way 🤯.
The Audible narration was top-notch 🎧! Both narrators were awesome and brought the story to life 🌟.
If you're looking for a light, pleasant read with a dash of romance and hockey 🏒️, then "Tell Me Lies" is the perfect book for you! 😊

A huge thanks to NetGalley for a copy of this ALC in exchange for an honest review❤️
This one’s for all the hockey romance fans! Tell Me Lies by Hannah Gray follows Logan, a professional hockey player and single dad to a 3 year-old daughter, and Maci, a romance writer dealing with a nasty combo of grief and writer’s block. First and foremost, I really enjoyed the audiobook listening experience. Walker Williams put on a good southern drawl and Chloe Ryan captured the vibe of the fmc. To be honest, the audiobook definitely enhanced the reading experience and my overall rating.
When it comes to the actually story though, I ended up having pretty mixed feelings about it. I loved Logan and Maci’s chemistry. I thought they complemented each other well and there was a lot of fun banter. Logan’s daughter Amelia was a super cute addition (even though in my opinion she was written to sound much older than her age). The side characters were heavily featured and added a lot to the story.
Now, the things I didn’t like. Logan frequently described her as not being like other girls…he was constantly pointing out how beautiful she was without a stitch of makeup, not like those other girls that cake it on. I also felt like Logan had these random and out of character misogynistic moments. He made multiple references to Maci’s ugly shoes, the type of “ugly shoes girls seem to love for some reason”. There were also moments where he compared experiencing basic emotions to being a little bitch or pussy, like “if my teammates knew I was thinking this they’d call me a little bitch”. Very odd thoughts to have when you’re raising a 3 year-old daughter on your own. I also felt like the 3rd act conflict contrasted oddly with the rest of the story. The secrecy required to fuel the conflict felt a little forced, and then it all kind of got swept under the rug at the end.
Most of these issues I had were definitely a matter of personal preference though, so I’d still highly recommend this to anyone looking for their next single dad hockey romance fix!
The first book in her New England Bay Sharks series, the audiobook for Tell Me Lies by Hannah Gray comes out on January 21st, 2025!

I really enjoyed the start of this new series by Hannah Grey. Logan and Maci were so incredible. Their chemistry was off the charts, and Logan’s mouth is *chefs kiss*
The narrators for the audiobook were excellent, I loved the souther twang of Logan’s voice actor. They were pleasant to listen to.
The twist of this book was even better than I was expecting. As an ADHDer, I really enjoy a well thought out twist, and Tell Me Lies delivered!

Are you kidding me? LOL this was soooo good!
Defently still going strong in the Hockey-Romance! Singel parent/nanny troupe working so well in this very spicy audiobook ;)

A thanks to netgalley for the audio-ARC! I will definitely recommend this on IG !

I was super lucky to received this ALC. I throughly enjoy Hannah’s work. This was my first book with the male narrator, and I won’t lie he’s not my favorite, but he did ok. The female narrator did a good job. I enjoy stories with depth too tnem, and this is a new story of a new series Hannah put out. If you enjoyed any of the authors other work you’ll enjoy this
The story follows Logan and Maci also includes Logan’s adorable daughter and a pretty cute dog as well as they navigate their employee/boss relationship basically while liking each other. They both obviously struggle with a little grief, and to be honest it alll mixes in to make a fantastic book. This is her first in the New England bay sharks series, and I personally think if you like any of Hannah’s other books this will be an immediate add to shelf.

Logan Sterns is unapologetically goofy with his dad jokes, unabashedly flirtatious when he sets his sights on his woman, and proudly cherishes his daughter to no end. He takes his role as a father with extreme dedication and built his life around his little girl.
This story has a nice flow and reads easily. It's cute and sweet until it gets spicy with some really hot dirty talk. Man, his got a mouth on him! I like the lightness of the story while having a good storyline. There is a loss of the mother but I think the tragedy added that emotional factor. There were some surprise twists that I hadn't anticipated which I absolutely love.
We've got some funny texts, great friendships, funny moments, a cute dog and steamy scenes. Great book!

Description:
Logan is a single dad and an NHL player scrambling to find a new nanny when Maci, a struggling author with a mysterious past, steps in to help. She needs inspiration for her spicy romance novel, and he’s more than happy to give her a little… guidance 😉. But as their chemistry heats up, secrets from Maci’s past threaten to ruin everything.
Review:
I really enjoyed this one! A hockey romance and a single dad trope? Yes, please 🙌. Logan and Maci’s connection was so fun to follow - plenty of spice 🌶️ and just the right amount of heart. I’m also really into the single dad trope lately, so this hit all the right notes for me!
The narrators were great and made the characters feel so real. My only tiny complaint is that the narrator for Logan sounded a bit older than I pictured him, but honestly, it didn’t take away from how much I enjoyed the story. I was hooked from the start and finished the audiobook in a day!
If you love swoony, steamy sports romances with lots of heart, this one’s for you. I’ll definitely be checking out more of Hannah Gray’s books and would happily listen to these narrators again 🎧💖.
Thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the ALC!

Meet Maci McKenzie. She’s a romance author who’s in a bit of a slump. She hasn’t been able to write much since losing her father in an accident a few years ago, and then losing her fiancé shortly after…
Meet Logan Sterns. He’s a well known HOT hockey player who found out he had a newborn baby girl recently, and took over her care. BUT, he now finds himself in a bind. His nanny is moving away, and he needs someone responsible to watch over her.
A mutual friend suggests Maci, as she needs a break from writing, and she hopes that maybe she can find some inspiration in new surroundings!
And so the story begins! And what a terrific story it is!!!
5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for me!!

Hannah Gray’s first book in the New England Bay Sharks Hockey Romance Series. A fun, emotion filled open door spicy read. The book moved well, had me hooked to keep listening!
Logan’s world is changed forever when he finds out he is a father. 3 years in, the single Dad and NHL star is seeking a new nanny for his sweet 3 year daughter Amelia. A close friend recommends Maci, a grief-striken romance author struggling to get words on a page. Hesitant, Maci takes the position on 6 weeks condition to help out while they find a permanent nanny. Unexpectedly finding some much needed fun, inspiration and connection with both Amelia and Logan, Maci starts considering making the arrangement permanent. The connection grows even deeper Logan decides to help inspire Maci to write the spicy scenes in her book…and his dirty talk and forward approach sparks exactly what she needs to be able to continue to write.
This was a duel narration style audio book. The narrators voices fit the characters and story very well. Emotion and expression in their voices was on point, and the pace was good, giving room for the reader to be able to adjust to their preferred level/speed. The southern accent worked well for Logan’s character. His slow whisper like moments were appropriately used and added that emotional impact where needed.
Don’t hesitate on this one, go add this to your audio TBR!
Thank you to NetGalley, Dreamscape Media and Hannah Gray for the ALC opportunity with this book.

🤩 The sweetest double jersey moment.
🤩 Dogs-in-books lovers, you will fall for Clyde.
What I’m Wishing/Dizzy About:
💫 This book was perfect for me until chapter 20. It actually ruined it for me. I hated it. I didn’t believe it. I felt mad at the author for turning the Logan I fell in love with into this other character. Nope. I honestly don’t know how Maci forgave him and just popped out of it so easily. It made me grumpy for the last 20% of the book, and I didn’t come out of it even though the MCs supposedly did.

This was a good single dad, found family hockey romance. I love the the fmc is an author made it interesting perspective. If you're into any of these tropes mentioned, you will definitely enjoy this book.

This was terrible. Hardly any storyline, the kid was basically just used as a prop for the dad to get laid by babysitters, and the insta lust was cringey. Also…he’s technically her employer which honestly makes him a sexual harassment nightmare. Just bad.

Logan is a hockey player who findnout he has a child after the mother has a accident he take over custody three years later his nanny is leaving and he need a new nanny for his daughter Amelia. Maci is an author and hasnt write and she has loss her father and a broken relationship she in a writer blocked and when her friend Poppy volunteer her to being a nanny for six weeks. she spend time with Amelia while logan is out in away games and they start spending time together and Logan gives her material for her book. when Amelia is sick rhey rush her to the ER and ther Maci secrets are reveal she has known Logan more that she lead to believe and Logan is shocked and cant believe the connection of that day her daughter was born.
I thought it was a little dump the reason he left her. it wasnt unnecessary drama orher than that I cant wait for Kolt and Paige.

I just love a good hockey romance and Tell Me Lies did not disappoint. Give me a single dad and a hockey romance and I am hooked.
Hannah Gray told a wonderful story about a professional hockey player, Logan Sterns who becomes a single dad overnight when a tragedy changes his life and Maci McKenzie, a struggling romance writer that becomes his nanny.
Maci has not been able to write since losing her dad and fiancé.
Logan is a great dad but needs help when his current nanny is leaving. Maci is recommended to him and she seems like a great fit.
Amelia, Logan’s three year old daughter is the cutest!
The three start to blur the lines and become a family. The interactions and connection will just warm your heart so. Maci finds herself again and Logan becomes her muse.
But when Maci discovers the truth and the connection from their past, can they overcome it?
I listened to the audio and thought the narrators did a wonderful job. I was hooked. Hockey romance lovers must read Hannah Gray. I am loving her stories!

I really enjoyed this. It was great spice with a great story. The characters were relatable and Amelia is the cutest! It took me a few to get used to the MMC voice on audio because I didn’t buy his southern accent, but once I got past that he was great.

A sweet hockey romance. The twist/connection was unexpected. I was a little unrealistic how quickly they got over it. But it was a sweet nannyxsingle dad

4⭐️ Audiobook!
Logan is a single dad to his daughter, Amelia, and with his nanny moving to another state he now needs someone to take on caring for his child who is not a psycho hockey fan. Maci is a romance writer who have been struggling to write since the tragedy that happened to her three years ago. She agrees to be Amelia's nanny to have a change of pace and maybe help drum up some inspiration. As they grow close, they cross some lines and Logan offers himself up as a test subject for her spicy scenes.
This is a pretty good sports romance that focuses on how they navigate their growing relationship despite the rules they try to set for themselves. Logan is a funny, easy-going character and it's so easy to be charmed by him and his filthy mouth. Maci is endearing as an FMC and you enjoy seeing her grow out of the trauma she initially has shackling her.
I enjoyed the overall pace and how they slowly formed a friendship that turned flirty and eventually spicy. I also liked Amelia as a very astute toddler that helped brought them together. And the dog, Clyde! Bullmastiffs are so adorable and funny. Clyde definitely fits the character. I wasn't fully vibing with the aftermath of the twist, but it did get resolved quickly. And the spice was definitely spicing!
The narrators definitely did a good job with this dual narration. I engaged well with both the story and how they told it from both perspectives.
This is recommended for contemporary sports romance fans who like the single dad x nanny trope. I think this is worth a listen.
Pick this up if you're looking for:

I'd like to thank NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for being given a chance get an ALC of this audiobook. All opinions on this book is my own.

A spicy and emotionally deep single dad x nanny/struggling romance writer, forced proximity, dual POV romance by a new to me Indie author. This was fun, heartfelt and fast-paced. Perfect for fans of authors like Helena Hunting or Tessa Bailey and I'm excited to read more in this series. It was also good on audio! Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early audio copy in exchange for my honest review!

Single Hockey Dad? immediately yes.
