This was my first Lynn Painter novel and it did not disappoint! The romance in this was adorable and really believable, I finished this in one sitting I was so hooked.

I read this book in a single day and really enjoyed all the time spent with it. This is the second Lynn Painter book to grip me like this so I will definitely be keeping my eye out for more of her work. My only complaint is that the timeline for Declan and Abi felt a little compressed at times.

With each book Lynn Painter writes, I find myself falling more and more in love with her writing and her characters. Each books has such a zany meet cute that feels like it should feel so unrealistic, but in Lynn’s world, they just feel right. Abi and Dex couldn’t be more opposite but when they are thrust into a fake dating situation, sparks fly. I loved seeing how their relationship grew and how maybe, they weren’t so different after all.

Another cover to cover single sitting read from Painter from me and another 5 star at that!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and couldn’t put it down. I really love Lynn Painter’s writing style and how she develops character relationships. This book was no different; it was filled with romance and humor and emotion. Only reason I didn’t rate it higher was because the timeline of this couple was a little too unrealistic.

Compulsively readable, this was a really fun romp. I did find myself taking a bit to warm up to Abi but by 30% in, I was all in for her. I liked the batter between Declan and Abi, though this did feel quite light with not much depth behind it except for some hijinks.

I did find myself wanting a bit more from Abi given the baggage she mentions repeatedly, but this is great for what it is — a light and funny romance. There’s definitely some loose threads at the end so this works better if you don’t look too closely but that’s okay. Overall this was a breezy romance. Rating 3.75.

If you’re looking for the perfect romantic comedy to make you laugh, swoon, and maybe even re-evaluate your cleaning routine, Maid for Each Other by Lynn Painter is the next book you need to pick up immediately.

Abi Mariano, a part-time student and full-time cleaner, finds herself in a bit of a bind when her apartment is overrun by an infestation. Enter the penthouse of the elusive millionaire Declan Powell, who’s conveniently out of town for a week. Abi agrees to crash there, thinking it’s no big deal… until one morning she’s greeted by Declan’s parents, who’ve apparently heard all about Abi….except, not as his maid, but as his girlfriend. Cue the awkwardness, right?

Declan, of course, has no idea who Abi is, and when his little white lie about a girlfriend goes spiraling out of control….he makes a deal that entails her pretending to date him for the week, and he’ll make sure Abi gets everything she needs. It’s a classic “fake dating” setup that’s got all the banter, chemistry, and hilarious misunderstandings you could hope for🤭

Painter’s writing is sharp, funny, and just the right amount of heart. Her books never fail to provide a rom-com with witty dialogue, a dash of romance, and characters you’ll cheer for, Maid for Each Other will be your go-to comfort read. It’s a match maid in heave in the best way possible.

If you LOVE a rom-com that’s equal parts hilarious and swoon worthy and make you giggle like crazy, ‘Maid for Each Other’ by Lynn Painter is WILL BE your new obsession.

Abi Mariano, a hardworking house cleaner is just trying to survive college while juggling two jobs (SO REAL😭). She ends up staying in her rich, mysterious boss's penthouse when her apartment gets... well, infested. No big deal, until she finds herself pretending….to be his girlfriend. 😬

Then, enters Declan Powell, the super successful executive who only has room for one thing: his career. But then his parents come in and drop the bomb that they met his girlfriend (aka Abi, who he's never even talked to but conviently used her name to fake his girlfriend). Now he’s panicked, He decides proposes a perfectly innocent arrangement….fake date him,(HELL YEAH) and he’ll take care of all her needs. It’s purely business (sure it is).

Y’all. The chemistry between these two? FIRE🔥. Declan is a complete mess of a rich guy pretending to have it all together and I am a TOTAL simp for him as he is equally a simp for Abi. Abi? She’s just trying to survive while accidentally stealing his heart (which this could be me). This book is the perfect mix of “pretend relationship” trope, a dash of “oops, this is real” drama, and SO much LOL awkwardness that had me on the floor.

Honestly, this is a rom-com lover’s dream. It’s quirky with so much witty banter, and a slow-burn romance that’ll have you SWOONING one minute and cackling the next. I couldn’t put it down. I want this to be a film ASAP.

10/10,Lynn Painter never fails providing the BEST romances ever.

I'm giving this 3.5 stars! It was a very quick, easy read that kept me engaged the whole time. The romance was cute, even though it was pretty far-fetched. I'm not sure if it is a story that will stick with me, but I did enjoy reading it!

Thank you to the author, Berkley Publishing, and NetGalley for the gifted copy!

A fun light hearted read. The dual pov made it exciting to hear about both Declan and Abi’s perspectives as their fake relationship went on and they started to fall for each other. Lots of fun banter and sweet moments.

maid for each other by lynn painter gives netflix rom com! this cinderella take on a maid meeting a billionaire and falling in love. I had fun while reading this, I felt the tension, I felt the cute scenes. "Our breaths were lingering, his hot green eyes my entire universe, and my brain was at war with my body. Because dear lord, I'd never wanted anything as much as I wanted to give into this. To follow these sparks and set the world on fire."

Maid for Each Other.... this was my first read by Lynn Painter. Oh my goodness I fell in love with Painter's writing. This is everything you want in a rom-com. Sassy and fun banter, chemistry, and such a binge-able storyline.

The spice level is very minimal but it does pick up a little towards the end of the book. I am obsessed with the fake dating trope and loved the Maid vs billionaire concept.

Also... I loved the characters on the side!! My only issue is I was hoping for a little more depth and emotional tie here. I love the deep emotional connections I have with romance books and it was lacking for me here.

Overall, a quick and easy light romance.

3.5/5 stars

3.7 🌟

This was fast paced, with all of the sweet and amusing ingredients of a rom-com. I wasn’t necessarily swept off my feet by Abi and Declan as a pair, but I did enjoy the light heartedness of the storyline.

— Thank you so much to Berkley and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this eARC in exchange for an honest review.

The writing in this felt different than what I’m used to from Lynn Painter. Love her so much, but I didn’t enjoy this one.

5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Pub Date: July 3rd, 2025

THANKS SO MUCH to Berkley and Netgalley for an early copy of Lynn Painters newest release! Her books bring me so much joy, who doesn’t love a good rom com?? This had me hooked from page one and I binged it so quickly. Declan & Abi were (MAID) FOR EACH OTHER (she’s a maid hehe)!!! Also if you like rich billionaire boyfriends, this is for you😏 Their chemistry and banter had me squealing! I don’t normally giggle or laugh at loud at my books, but I caught myself doing exactly that at least 5+ times. My husband was like “wow this must be such a good book”. Painter has such a talent for pulling you in and making you fall in love with the characters she creates and their chemistry. I will always read everything she writes.🫶🏼

No spoilers but Declan is the SWEETEST & I wish all MMCs could be like him. If you’re looking for the cutest🥹, flirtiest❤️‍🔥, funniest🤣 rom-com, make sure to preorder this! It’s killing me that everyone has to wait until July to read it😭 but I feel so blessed to have been able to read an early copy so THANK YOU AGAIN BERKLEY I LOVE YOU💗

Big thanks to NetGalley for giving me an ARC of this book, I always love getting to read Lynn Painter's stuff early!
So, if I am being honest, this is probably closer to a 3.25 or 3.5 for me. I love me a good fake dating trope, so that it like 1 star right there. However, I had a little bit of a hard time gauging how quickly this relationship evolves. It feels like it was pretty fast to go from strangers with a business agreement to being madly in love. I don't mind books with a fast moving relationship, but I felt like it could have been fleshed out a little bit more. I did find myself liking Declan's chapters a lot more than Abi's. That could partly be because I really love listening to a guy pine for a girl (and Lynn does that so well), but there were also just parts of Abi's character that didn't seem to make a lot of sense to me. Like that she was letting herself get so confused because of the story she was writing and her whole complex with her asthma. I also feel like I wish that we had gotten at least 1 really slimy rich person, as opposed to making them all just the sweetest most wonderful people in the world. That rang really false to me.
But in terms of what I did like... I loved the banter between these two. It was so charming. I obviously love that this whole book is an homage to Pretty Woman. I know that movie has aged horrendously, but I still love it. I mean who doesn't want to imagine that a millionaire is just going to sweep them off their feet. Finally, I AM DYING TO READ THE SHORT STORY ABI IS WRITING! Like seriously, Lynn, PLEASE write that because the snippets that I got of it throughout this book had me hooked.
Overall, if you like Lynn Painter's previous work then I think that you will have a good time with this book. This is by no means her strongest work, in my opinion, but it's certainly not bad. I think for a good, quick read to help you turn your brain off it is a solid choice.

This is such a fun and cute Cinderella story rom-com!

Sure, you will have to suspend your disbelief and maybe also press pause on your feelings towards the uber-rich. BUT, this book IS fiction and I loved it for how entertaining and romantic it was! It truly felt like a 90s/early 2000s rom-com movie in the best way!

When MFA student and part-time maid Abi crashes at the empty penthouse apartment she's supposed to be cleaning because she has nowhere else to go while her apartment is being fumigated, she does NOT expect to wake up to the owner's parents greeting her and assuming she's his girlfriend. She also doesn't expect for this to lead to a fake-dating scheme instead of jail time. She strikes a deal with the apartment's owner, Declan, including lodging while her apartment is being worked on and compensation. However, when feelings enter the equation, what starts out as nothing more than a business transaction gets much more messy and complicated.

This story is full of banter, humor, and fun!

Thank you so much to Berkley and NetGalley for the free ARC in exchange for my honest review!

THANK YOU SO MUCH NETGALLEY AND BERKLEY! I LOVE LYNN PAINTER SO MUCH!!!

This book is a total vibe! Abi, a hardworking cleaner, ends up staying in the penthouse of her boss (whom she’s never met) after an infestation in her building. Things get wild when his parents show up, thinking she’s his girlfriend. Turns out, Dex made up the whole relationship to get them off his back. So, he convinces Abi to fake date him for a week, and of course, things get complicated.

It’s got all the fun of a fake dating trope with some serious chemistry, humor, and drama. Abi’s hustle is relatable, and Dex’s career-driven vibe adds the perfect tension. Quick, funny, and swoon-worthy! Absolutely adore Lynn Painter's writing, I ate it right up naturally (I have read everything under the sun by her, so this is no surprise)!!!
