This story was giving me Pretty Woman and Maid in Manhattan vibes. Abi is a bit of an aloof, chaotic woman, while Declan is Type A to a T. He's a workaholic with extremely high standards. Together, they make a really fun couple. They complete what the other needs. He needs to loosen up, while she could use some more structure in her life. They both need something from each other, he needs a fake girlfriend whom his parents also happened to meet, while she needs a place to stay and some cash to pay off her student debt. Together, they create a pretty funny and enjoyable fake dating romance. There is a ton of forced proximity and sexual tension. You will definitely enjoy this one!
The one thing I couldn't get over was the fact that this millionaire and his big business cronies were all living in middle America. I don't know why I couldn't get over it, but I just didn't believe the setting.
Read if you like a fake dating, opposites attract romance with dual POV. Thanks to the publisher for the ARC in return for an honest review. This book is out 7/15!

Absolutely perfect rom com, low on the spicy scale, fun characters. I love the “pretty woman” dynamic. Loved that Abi was smart, capable and spoke her mind. Also loved the charity component and that miscommunication wasn’t allowed to fester and drag on! Read this for a fun, quick read! Thanks for NetGalley for an early copy!

me and lynn painter aren't really the best of friends. i, like everyone else, loved better than the movies but the rest her books haven't hit the way i want them to. they're just kinda bland.
the main girls' name was abi which drew me in, even if its spelled strangely... abby is the superior spelling if you ask me.... no bias though

❣️ “I didn’t like watching the car disappear out of sight, and I didn’t like the way I instantly felt emptier without her there.”
❣️”Because I wanted to stay in the same room as her more than I wanted to breathe.”
I would like this one in all colors, please. No need for a bag. Thank you.
Soooo, I covered this retreat for years. And I was laughing, smiling and shaking my head up and down at all the details. Well played, Lynn Painter. Well played. 👏🏼
I love a good fake dating or dating arrangement of sorts with a (n un)healthy dose of secrets. 🙂↔️The “is it all fake or is any of it real” always gets me. In the best way possible. I also LOVE the pace and writing in Lynn Painter’s books. This is my second and yes, it’s confirmed… the cadence is just made for me *sigh*
I was sooooo unsure about Roman, it’s not even funny. I kept asking the book gods, please don’t 🫣 With my wish granted, he actually became the perfect side character along with Lauren.
Fun, breezy and with just the right amount of Jane Austen, Maid for Each Other was made for summer reading 💜

Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing for a gifted ARC and ALC in exchange for an honest review.
Maid for Each Other is a sweet and swoony take on Pretty Woman/Maid in Manhattan. Abi was such a delightful character. I loved her wit and the strength she had to make her dreams come true. Declan was a bit brusk on the outside, but an ooey gooey heart of gold on the inside. Lynn Painter's signature banter was on full display, and I found this to be adorable.
If I have any complaints, I would have loved a bit more emotion. Everything was a bit surface-level for my liking, but I still really enjoyed this one.
The audiobook was fantastic. Teddy Hamilton was his perfect self, of course. Saylor Bell Curda is a new narrator to me, but I thought she did a wonderful job voicing Abi.

This book reminded me a lot of the movie Pretty Woman. There were a lot of similar elements but just enough differences to stay unique. I love Pretty Woman so this played in my favor! 😂
The chemistry between Abi and Dex was very solid. Everything just made sense between them even though they were so different. There was tons of tension and build up to a little bit of spice.
I really enjoyed this story. It made me laugh out loud at times and kept a smile on my face.

Abi Mariano is your typical hard worker, She is a professional cleaner, works at the local grocery store as a cashier, and is a part time student. When her apartment building has an infestation outbreak she is forced to find a place to stay for the week. She is barely scraping by as it is, so she can't afford to pay to stay somewhere else. That is when she gets the best idea. The owner of the penthouse that she cleans is away for the week. Abi could easily stay there and he would have no idea. Everything is going great for a few days until she wakes up one morning to find two strangers in the kitchen. These "strangers" end up being the penthouse owner's parents and they are under the impression that Abi is their son's girlfriend.
Declan Powell is the penthouse owner. He is successful and has everything he could ever want, but his parents have been on his back about settling down and his company tends not to take him as seriously as a single guy. Declan tells his company and his parents that he has a girlfriend named "Abby" but he doesn't really have a girlfriend, he made her up. So when Declan's parents tell him that they met his "girlfriend" Abby at his apartment, Declan is shocked to say the least. Declan learns that Abi is the maid that cleans his penthouse and along comes a proposition; pretend to be his girlfriend and she can stay in his penthouse and Declan will give her a large cash incentive. An innocent fake dating scheme, what could possibly go wrong?
Review:
Lynn Painter is my go to author for a quick fun rom com. She honestly does rom coms like no one else, they are the BEST! They are lighthearted, the characters have great chemistry, and they make you laugh out loud. Maid for Each Other is no different! Abi and Declan are just perfect. They are witty, funny, sarcastic, their banter is great, and they have real chemistry and tension. Every character in this book is so likeable even when they have some not so likeable moments. You cannot help but root them on. I loved the slow burn of this one. The build up was absolutely fantastic. I ate this up and highly recommend!
Maid for Each Other is available on 7/15!

Fun fake dating rom-com
Abi Mariano is "forcing" herself to sleep in the luxury penthouse apartment she's been cleaning while her own apartment is being fumigated. The owner of the apartment is out of town and she'll be gone without a trace before he even knows she was there.
Problems and dilemmas start popping up when the owner's parents show up, assumptions are made, and Abi ends up in a fake relationship with the owner, Declan Powell, a multimillionaire, who makes her an offer she can't refuse.
I enjoyed this light rom-com. It reminded me a lot (favorably) of the movie Maid in Manhattan starring Jennifer Lopez that came out a few years ago.
I received this digital review copy from Berkley through NetGalley in the hopes that I would read it and leave an unbiased review.

One of the first adult romances from Lynn Painter that I enjoyed! Tons of flirty banter, swoon-worthy gestures, and a couple you'll fall in love with! Painter knows how to write romances, and she proves it with this novel! Highly recommend!

Maid For Each Other is my first Lynn Painter read, and I can see why people love her! This book was such a fun read. It's cute, it's sweet, and of course, funny. I love when a rom-com really nails the comedy, and Lynn delivered with Abi and Declan. It's a perfect bad first impressions/ fake dating situation, with a billionaire MMC who is so down to earth and sweet, ugh! I can't! Everything about this book is wonderful - the characters, the plot, the pacing, the amount of romance, the amount of comedy. I'm definitely a Lynn Painter fan after this one! 4 stars!
Thank you NetGalley, Berkley Publishing Group, and Lynn Painter for this ARC!

This book was an absolutely adorable quick read. I flew through it in a day and loved every minute!
Abi is a standout heroine funny, sassy, loyal, and full of quirky charm.
Declan fits the swoony millionaire mold, and while he’s a bit of a classic grumpy MMC, he still delivers sweet moments (especially that gift)!
Is it predictable? Yes. But in the most comforting, cozy way. It’s like watching your favorite rom-com for the hundredth time: you know what’s coming, and you still love every minute!
The chemistry between Abi and Declan is delightful, and their banter had me smiling the whole time.
While I wished Declan’s character had a little more depth, the story hits every trope it sets out to deliver AND does it well.
It’s fake dating perfection with a modern fairy tale vines and I am here for it!

Yes, you’ve heard the story before: millionaire hottie and headstrong maid have a charmingly awkward meet cute and the rest is history. It’s not the story I want to talk about, it’s the storytelling.
Once again, Painter serves up the best, witty af banter between the two main characters, Declan & Abi. I love when FMCs can stand up to characters who try and wield power over them, and Abi does just that, proving she can hold more than just a mop. Girl can hold her own and dish out perfectly-timed comebacks.
Painter also creates engaging inner monologues through the alternating POVs, capturing the feelings people crave. It had me feeling hopeful, internally shouting at the characters, and smiling at the page.

Maid for Each Other is an excellent choice for a light and fluffy romance that doesn’t take itself too seriously. If you’re a reader who can suspend some disbelief and are ok with insta-love, then you’ll love the latest from Lynn Painter. I’m usually one for some more pining, but this just worked for me and I almost can’t tell why? A sweet, not overly complicated love story that will have you kicking your feet in delight.

You guys KNOW I love Lynn Painter + she did not disappoint!!! Her rom coms are just so much fun and binge worthy. This one was no exception! Abi + Declan’s banter was to die for and I couldn’t stop reading simply bc of it. I adored how much of a caregiver and softie Declan was - always wanting to look out for Abi and being her admirer (though he kept it lowkey for a bit). I loved the short chapters, dual povs and easy dialogue. I don’t usually go for fake dating tropes but this was done so well, it didn’t overpower anything. This is the perfect book to binge or grab you out of a slump. It’s just the cutest I loved it so much!!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5
Thank you Berkley, NetGalley and Lynn for this gifted ARC in exchange for my honest review!

I really enjoyed this book and had so much fun reading it. I loved the banter between the two main characters and over all it was a fast paced read and an entertaining rom com.
It follows Abi - a maid who spends the night at a clients penthouse (unbeknownst to him) due to an infestation in her current apartment. She wakes up to his parents thinking she is the girlfriend of Declan - the owner of the penthouse. Initially upon meeting each other, they do not get along. But then he realizes he needs a date to an event and a fake dating relationship ensues.
Although I had a lot of fun reading this, it was a bit too insta love for me and I felt the romance was rushed. But I found the characters entertaining and enjoyed it nonetheless.
Thank you to NetGalley and Berkely for the ARC :)

Another cute romcom by Lynn!
I know when I jump into a Lynn Painter book I'm going to get the following things:
- Fun main characters
- Great banter
- Good nuggest of humor
- HEA
This hit all the marks. I love how fast paced this one was and it just leapt straight into the premise of the book. Both Abi and Declan were extremely likable lead characters. I would say Lynn definitely took a step out in the steam level compared to her other novels I've read but still very much in the PG-13 territory - fine for younger readers.
I love how protective Declan was of Abi - he genuinely cared deeply for this woman even when they started off a bit shaky!
Highly recommend if you're looking for a quick read this summer that will have you squealing with delight.
Thank you NetGalley and Berkley Publishing for this eARC!

4.5/5⭐️
this story follows abi, who is a house cleaner that’s displaced from her apartment because of an infestation, and decides to crash at one of the apartments she’s assigned to clean when the owner is out of town, however, when the apartment owner’s parents come over, she introduces herself as abi, and has no clue that the apartment owner, declan, has started a rouse to his parents, saying that he has a girlfriend. declan finds out that his parents met his so called girlfriend and finds abi. they strike a deal, he lets her continue to live in his apartment until the infestation is gone and she has to be his fake girlfriend…
when i initially got the arc for this book, i genuinely screamed because what do you mean i got the arc to one of my favourite authors ever?!?! but this book was so cute, it genuinely felt like i was reading a romcom movie, and just the setting, the characters, the conversations they were having, everything was just so perfect! i loved reading about declan and abi, and seeing their relationship grow from two complete strangers to them feeling so comfortable with one another, you could really see the love they both have, and it was so incredible to read! overall a really enjoyable read and def recommend if you are in need of a fast-paced, romcom book!
thank you so much netgalley for the arc!

I absolutely loved this book. I knew that I loved Lynn's writing because of how obsessed I am with Better Than the Movies and Nothing Like the Movies, but I wasn't sure if I would love her adult romance in the same way. I definitely did love it and will be reading all of her other adult titles.
I love a fake dating trope and this one was well-done and I think that the power dynamic was well-addressed and added more depth to the fake dating.
Abi was such a strong female character and reminded me a lot of Liz (specifically in Nothing Like the Movies). Declan was a fantastic MMC and I loved learning more about him and watching Abi realize he wasn't who she initially thought he was.
Overall, this book was fantastic and I fell in love with the characters. It was a quick and easy read which is what I'm looking for during the summer, but the characters still held depth and were interesting.

Maid For Each Other is the lightest of fluffy chill reads! It goes down like an ice cold lemonade, on a hot summer day. This book was cute, silly, and yet somehow still thoughtful while remaining extraordinarily simple.
Abi the Maid crashed in one of her clients homes when he was out of town and she needed a place to crash… but little did she know that his parents would find her there in the morning and mistake her for the girlfriend he’d been lying about having! This surprise misunderstanding with her rich client’s family leads to a fake dating beast coming unleashed in order for Abi to save her job, and her client Declan, to save face.
What I LOVED about this book was that while it was based on a fake dating trope, we didn’t spend a million and ten pages suffering through misunderstandings. We moved very quickly past the premise set up and it very quickly became ane pretty positive throughout. It was a normal love story unfolding under silly circumstances. Something that I personally hate about tropey books is the brain fry vibes of the main characters, HOWEVER, these characters were charming, good hearted, and generally well fleshed out. I loved that a subplot (main plot???) was wealth disparity. This story could have been cheap, but instead it had tact and explored some pretty relevant topics. The FMC being a badass, multi job holding, master’s degree earning, book loving writer certainly made me feel some kinship with her.
While sex was a topic that was broached, it was moderately closed door and PG-13.
While giving an obvious total Cinderella vibe, this was also the fantasy of a ~non evil~ totally charitable, gold hearted rich guy come true. The only downside I can pinpoint is the FMC having no friends was kind of a bummer, but also sometimes just true to life for introverted writer / reader types. I liked the exploration of her relationship with her mother and HER relationship with men, but ultimately the women in our FMC’s life were left to the wayside by the end of the read. This read scratched a lot of itches, but wasn’t overly emotional, life changing, etc. in any way. To wrap things up, this book was a blast, and I’m glad to have spent the time with Declan and his fam!

Lynn Painter does it again! This rom-com has Pretty Woman vibes in the best way, with its hardworking, bubbly heroine who wins over the millionaire with a secret heart of gold. I especially appreciated its themes of loneliness and isolation, and how love can open your world in ways that money can't. An adorable, fun read!
