4.5!!!! read within 24 hours while giggling at my kindle. this was a bit unrealistic but in the way of a cheesy rom com that i ate up. i liked the chapter titles, short chapters, and dual pov aspects as well. i liked that the third act breakup was not prolonged and super dragged out.

Huge thank you to Netgalley for sending me this ARC!

What to expect:

🫧Forced Proximity
🫧Fake Dating
🫧Strangers to Lovers
🫧Grumpy x Sunshine
🫧 Millionaire x Maid
🫧 Dual POV

This book was everything I look for in a RomCom. There is palpable tension, enjoyable banters, and a fun, binge-able storyline. The plot was entertaining, and the characters were developed perfectly. The faking dating trope is so fun to me. I also am a sucker for a dual POV book.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing for a copy of this book.

Engaging from the very first page. This book is full of great banter and chemistry that is buzzing on the pages. These characters absolutely deserve one another. Their fake relationship is so good the lines get blurred. Abi fit Ronda’s life so easily. Her part was absolutely perfect. And Declan…swoon! I enjoyed this book from beginning to the end. I didn’t put it down. A romance book that is written to perfection.

Highly recommended.

3.75!
Spice 2/5
Thank you net galley for the e arc! What a cutie little rom-com. This book seriously gave me all the pretty woman vibes (one of my fav movies everrr). This story follows Abi who works for a cleaning company and is a maid for some super rich guy, One day her apartment gets infested and with no where to go she decides to sleep in that condo of said super rich guy (his name is Declan)! When she wakes up the next morning she meets Declan's parents who just assume that she's Declan's girlfriend who he talks about all the time but doesn't actually exist, thus we begin our fake dating! This story was genuinely so fun and had me swooning! The only thing that bothered me was that our mmc kept calling our fmc
"honey" and I don't know but l hattttte when men call me that lol. I also felt like it was missing something in the romance department I just wanted something a bit deeper, but besides that this was a fun,

Lynn Painter always crafts quick, cute, and easy reads! I liked the idea of the overall concept and always love a good fake-dating romance. The book was cute overall, and I did like Abi and Declan as individuals, but I am not sure they were a good match for each other. I love Lynn’s writing because it tends to be light and easy to consume, especially her YA books, but I was hoping for a bit more depth in this book! The ending also felt a bit rushed and I was hoping for more from their relationship as a couple and as individuals.

Overall, a quick and easy read! Thank you to Berkley and NetGalley for the e-arc!

3.5 out of 5. As concepts go, did I love this one, not really. But the execution is quite above expectations and the developing romance was very well done and not as predictable as expected. But also its still a concept that has been done. I have to give it this, if you take the maid that he hires to actually by a Phd student that just does cleaning on the side, isn't it a bit of a cop out in terms of what the implications are? I did love Declan and hes a hell of a character.

Here's the thing, Lynn Painter is an automatic read for me. I don't need a blurb or a single ounce of convincing. But after this? I just might.

The concept was cute but the chemistry seemed non-existent. There was seemingly no reason for Declan to fall in love with Abi and there were so many reasons Abi should not have fallen in love with Declan.

Thank you to Net Gallley for the advanced readers copy of this book in exchange for reading and reviewing.

Lynn Painters new rom com set to be released on July 15, 2025 has been such a fun and flirty book! Filled with all the humor and feelings that mark anything she writes this book was just a wonderful ray of sunshine, just like Abi. This was a great classic Cinderella tale that just swept me away as Abi works as a cleaner in a luxury condo for Declan, an absent tenant, while trying to make ends meet and keep up on her Student Loan payments so she can stay in grad school. When her apartment needs to be fumagated, she packs a single overnight bag and plans to hide away in the empty apartment, but when his parents appear for an investers weekend, they assume she is is mystery girlfriend everything changes in the blink of an eye. Abi is quickly hired by Declan to be his fake girlfriend for the weekend but will this be the end? Is Declan really the cold fish billionaire that Ability assumes he is? If Abi really the money hungry woman who negotiates 40k for a weekend of luxury living? What's that spark that keeps him looking at this quick thinking and imaginative redhead that is now sleeping in his bed while he is in the guest room? And what's up with late night calls and mystery trips to NYC?

With a great romance between Declan and Abi joined with a good mix of will they won't they along with a nice thread of wonder and mystery, Lynn Painter has written a fun book that should be on any rom com lovers preorder list. And yea, if her name looks familiar she is also the author of Happily Never After that was one of my top reads of 2024!

Abi works two jobs, goes to school, has massive student loans, and now her apartment has an infestation. What could it hurt to spend the night in one of the upper class condos she cleans? When she wakes up the next morning and finds two strangers in the kitchen, she knows she's in trouble. But why do they look excited to see her? And how do they know her name? This fun rom com is the latest from Lynn Painter, one of my favorite authors. I love the fake dating trope and this one is done well. This feels inspired by the movie Pretty Woman in all the best ways and I loved every minute of it. Declan and Abi have great banter and chemistry and I lost myself in the story.

Solid 4 star read. Give me a fake dating plot and I’ll devour it. Entertaining plot, cute characters with tension and good banter. Plus dual perspectives. Good job Lynn Painter!

Thanks Penguin Random House for the arc!

This was my first Lynn Painter novel and it did not disappoint! The romance in this was adorable and really believable, I finished this in one sitting I was so hooked.

I read this book in a single day and really enjoyed all the time spent with it. This is the second Lynn Painter book to grip me like this so I will definitely be keeping my eye out for more of her work. My only complaint is that the timeline for Declan and Abi felt a little compressed at times.

With each book Lynn Painter writes, I find myself falling more and more in love with her writing and her characters. Each books has such a zany meet cute that feels like it should feel so unrealistic, but in Lynn’s world, they just feel right. Abi and Dex couldn’t be more opposite but when they are thrust into a fake dating situation, sparks fly. I loved seeing how their relationship grew and how maybe, they weren’t so different after all.

Another cover to cover single sitting read from Painter from me and another 5 star at that!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and couldn’t put it down. I really love Lynn Painter’s writing style and how she develops character relationships. This book was no different; it was filled with romance and humor and emotion. Only reason I didn’t rate it higher was because the timeline of this couple was a little too unrealistic.

Compulsively readable, this was a really fun romp. I did find myself taking a bit to warm up to Abi but by 30% in, I was all in for her. I liked the batter between Declan and Abi, though this did feel quite light with not much depth behind it except for some hijinks.

I did find myself wanting a bit more from Abi given the baggage she mentions repeatedly, but this is great for what it is — a light and funny romance. There’s definitely some loose threads at the end so this works better if you don’t look too closely but that’s okay. Overall this was a breezy romance. Rating 3.75.

If you’re looking for the perfect romantic comedy to make you laugh, swoon, and maybe even re-evaluate your cleaning routine, Maid for Each Other by Lynn Painter is the next book you need to pick up immediately.

Abi Mariano, a part-time student and full-time cleaner, finds herself in a bit of a bind when her apartment is overrun by an infestation. Enter the penthouse of the elusive millionaire Declan Powell, who’s conveniently out of town for a week. Abi agrees to crash there, thinking it’s no big deal… until one morning she’s greeted by Declan’s parents, who’ve apparently heard all about Abi….except, not as his maid, but as his girlfriend. Cue the awkwardness, right?

Declan, of course, has no idea who Abi is, and when his little white lie about a girlfriend goes spiraling out of control….he makes a deal that entails her pretending to date him for the week, and he’ll make sure Abi gets everything she needs. It’s a classic “fake dating” setup that’s got all the banter, chemistry, and hilarious misunderstandings you could hope for🤭

Painter’s writing is sharp, funny, and just the right amount of heart. Her books never fail to provide a rom-com with witty dialogue, a dash of romance, and characters you’ll cheer for, Maid for Each Other will be your go-to comfort read. It’s a match maid in heave in the best way possible.

If you LOVE a rom-com that’s equal parts hilarious and swoon worthy and make you giggle like crazy, ‘Maid for Each Other’ by Lynn Painter is WILL BE your new obsession.

Abi Mariano, a hardworking house cleaner is just trying to survive college while juggling two jobs (SO REAL😭). She ends up staying in her rich, mysterious boss's penthouse when her apartment gets... well, infested. No big deal, until she finds herself pretending….to be his girlfriend. 😬

Then, enters Declan Powell, the super successful executive who only has room for one thing: his career. But then his parents come in and drop the bomb that they met his girlfriend (aka Abi, who he's never even talked to but conviently used her name to fake his girlfriend). Now he’s panicked, He decides proposes a perfectly innocent arrangement….fake date him,(HELL YEAH) and he’ll take care of all her needs. It’s purely business (sure it is).

Y’all. The chemistry between these two? FIRE🔥. Declan is a complete mess of a rich guy pretending to have it all together and I am a TOTAL simp for him as he is equally a simp for Abi. Abi? She’s just trying to survive while accidentally stealing his heart (which this could be me). This book is the perfect mix of “pretend relationship” trope, a dash of “oops, this is real” drama, and SO much LOL awkwardness that had me on the floor.

Honestly, this is a rom-com lover’s dream. It’s quirky with so much witty banter, and a slow-burn romance that’ll have you SWOONING one minute and cackling the next. I couldn’t put it down. I want this to be a film ASAP.

10/10,Lynn Painter never fails providing the BEST romances ever.

I'm giving this 3.5 stars! It was a very quick, easy read that kept me engaged the whole time. The romance was cute, even though it was pretty far-fetched. I'm not sure if it is a story that will stick with me, but I did enjoy reading it!

Thank you to the author, Berkley Publishing, and NetGalley for the gifted copy!

A fun light hearted read. The dual pov made it exciting to hear about both Declan and Abi’s perspectives as their fake relationship went on and they started to fall for each other. Lots of fun banter and sweet moments.
