** spoiler alert ** 4.5 Stars-I absolutely loved this book! It was exactly what I needed!
This book follows Abi who is struggling student working two jobs, one of which is cleaning house. She is cleaning the house of Declan who is a rich businessman. One night when her apartment is being fumigated she decides to just stay the night at Declan’s house, since she knows they only ever clean it when he is out of town. She is woken up to his parents knocking on the bedroom door. When she opens it and tells them her name is Abi they are so happy to “finally” meet her. Come to find out Declan had lied to his family and made up a girlfriend after being hounded by them time after time about his love life, and you guessed it, he told them her name was Abi! He then propositions her to accompany him to a work event and their relationship blossoms from there!
The banter was too tier! Loved Abi and Declan together and I could not put this down.

Thank you Netgalley for the advanced reading copy! Sometimes you just need a rom-com in your life and Lynn Painter never disappoints me. She always makes me laugh in each book, and this was no exception. The main characters Abi and Declan worked for me, I thought their banter and the fake dating plot was sweet and funny, and just enough tension at the end to pull me through. Usually I do have a problem with millionaire dating plots, but Painter makes it work with this ending in my opinion. Painter does not write super deep books, but again, they always make me laugh and that is what I needed in my reading life, particularly as I read this at the pool. Overall I recommend for fans of Painter, romantic comedies, and the fake dating trope. I think it is a great beach and pool read!

Hot dog. I love Lynn Painter. I am genuinely so obsessed with how she writes her characters. Abby is easily one of my new favorite FMCs ever.

Lynn Painter has done it again, Maid For Each Other is an utterly delightful rom com filled with sharp banter, laugh out loud moments, and a heroine you can’t help but root for. Abi is the kind of main character you instantly click with: relatable, sassy, and unfiltered in the best way. She’s working hard, cleaning houses to make ends meet, when she crosses paths with Declan, a rich, stoic workaholic who’s all buttoned up business… until Abi throws his world slightly off kilter.

Their opposites attract dynamic is charming from the start, and when fake dating enters the mix, the chemistry between them absolutely crackles. Abi isn’t afraid to call Declan out or push his buttons, which makes for some fantastic back and forth—and surprisingly tender moments, too. While the heat level stays on the low side, the romantic tension is strong enough to keep you grinning the whole way through.

This book gave me major Maid in Manhattan vibes in the best way, it’s heartfelt, funny, and just the right amount of fairy tale romance grounded in real emotional connection. It’s a feel good escape that balances humor and heart with Painter’s signature wit and charm. If you’re in the mood for something sweet, smart, and satisfying, this one absolutely delivers.

Pretty woman meets Maid in Manhattan in this opposites attract, fake dating, dual POV romcom from one of my fav authors that has a maid getting caught crashing at her millionaire client’s condo and then agreeing to pose as his girlfriend for a weekend in exchange for money.

I will admit this wasn’t my favourite by Lynn Painter but aside from the frustrating miscommunication third act breakup, it had great banter and good asthma rep (her) plus cute last name nick names and EXCELLENT narration by Teddy Hamilton and newcomer, Saylor Bell Curda.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital copy and @prhaudio for a complimentary ALC in exchange for my honest review.

My ARC was provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Lynn Painter is a master of the romcom genre. This was fast yet full of feels. Can’t wait for the next book - the preview already has me hooked.

?!?!?!?!?!?

I might have lost my mind over this:

What I loved
- he takes care of her
- FMC career and her pursuit of masters
- The BANTER
- the getting to know each other was realistic
- The writing style
- Short chapters
- THERE WAS A STORY that I actually forgot I was reading
- This book STORY

What I didn’t like
- language
- Open door ( ( skip chapter 34 ( brief ( wait what) ) half page in the beginning of chapter 35 , 1 1/2 page of chapter 38) , these are really really short chapters and so easy to skip
-

I have never sobbed over a book this much when I had the expectation to dnf at any given time

*you take the spice part and reduce the language, five stars

Declan and Abi's story was so much fun! It was very predictable, but I think that made it all more worthwhile. I loved seeing them go from "fake-dating" to really falling for one another, and then discussing things and working through things. I love me a CEO/millionaire romance and this one definitely delivered. It was my first Lynn Painter book and I can't wait to read more from her!

I enjoy picking up a Lynn Painter book because I know exactly what I'm getting myself into. There's going to be witty banter and fake dating that is going to backfire and the couple will inevitably end up falling for each other.

Abi is a maid and a grocery store clerk. Declan is a mega rich businessman who hires a cleaning company for his apartment. Abi decides it's a smart idea to sleep over at Declan's apartment, since he is on a business trip and Abi has no where to stay with her apartment being treated for an infestation...enter Declan's parents finding Abi in Declan's bed and thinking it's his girlfriend "Abby" that he actually made up to get his family and coworkers off his back. Abi and Declan have never met but now his parents want to meet his girlfriend. So he has to track her down and they make a deal for her to fake being his girlfriend for a weekend to ease his family and coworkers off his back. All of that for an astounding 40k.

This was an easy read. It checked the boxes for a romcom. Declan is handsome and serious, but had a hidden fun side to him. Abi is a bit eccentric and wants to accomplish a lot with her life. She's bubbly, a bit silly at times, and really sweet. The banter was fun, Lynn is great at writing convincing flirting situations.

However, the book did fall flat for me in a few places. I can't specifically name certain things (to avoid spoilers), but they felt like plot holes for later in the story, especially with the epilogue.

Sometimes Abi's character didn't seem consistent. She claims to be awkward and bad at making friends but js able to small talk and chat Declan's family and coworkers up like a natural. I am awkward, I do not do small talk or naturally converse with strangers, so I wasn't buying the whole "I'm awkward" bit. Maybe getting 40k for chatting people up wrings the awkward out of a person.

I wanted to love this, but it turned out to be more of an average read compared to her other books. Still absolutely LOVE Lynn Painter and can't wait to read everything she publishes!

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Berkley Romance for my free book!

Abi is a hard-working grad student juggling school and multiple jobs, and one night, she ends up sleeping in the penthouse she cleans after an infestation in her own building. When the owner’s parents show up and mistake her for their son’s girlfriend, things spiral into a fake-dating arrangement that’s supposed to benefit them both.

This is a super cute, employer/employee, Pretty Woman-esque story. Declan plays the part of the perfectly grumpy millionaire while Abi is the “regular Joe” character who doesn’t understand the rich-person life any more than Declan understands why Abi works two jobs to barely get by. I enjoyed their hilarious banter and the tension between them.

Unfortunately, this isn’t my favorite of Painter’s, because the story felt rushed. The fake dating kicks in almost immediately, leaving little time to really get to know Abi or Declan beyond the surface. Declan often came across as the generic rich guy rather than a fully fleshed-out romantic lead, and there were some awkward power dynamics at play here that made this icky at times.

Fans of light, tropey romcoms might still enjoy the playful setup. It’s a decent pick if you’re after something quick and easy, but not a standout in her lineup.

🦂 Fake Dating Arrangement
🦂 Romantic Comedy
🦂 Dual POV

This was a super cute contemporary romance. I forgot how much I love Lynn’s writing. Even though I associate her books with the young adult ones, I really enjoy the cute and funny humor in her adult ones. Same vibes but more mature conflicts.

If you’re looking for spice, this won’t be it, but if you like a lighthearted romcom with a silly and cutesy fmc, I think you’ll enjoy this one. Similar to Katherine Center vibes. Quick and fluffy, predictable and cutesy, I had a really fun time reading this one.

this was CUTE! I’ve only read a couple of Lynn Painters books and only her adult novels, but they’re always a good time!! This was a pretty quick read! It was fast paced and the story was a little predictable but that’s also kind of what makes it so good right?? It’s just a very classic romantic comedy!!

I LOVE fake dating! I loved Abi and Declan! They were funny and sweet and their circumstances were…silly?! But it made for a good story! And Declan was SO DOWN BAD! He was so so so so sweet! I loved that he SAW Abi! She needed that, and seeing her realize that he cared about her was SO SWEET!

From the preview of her next book it seems like it’s taking place in MN?! So I will for sure be reading that!!

Thanks to Berkley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!!

This was such a cuteI love this book so much. This was such a cute read with tons of banter and chemistry between the FMC and MMC.

Maid for Each Other is a fake-dating romance. Abi is a maid who due to an infestation in her apartment, decides to sleep in one of the houses she cleans. The next day when trying to sneak out, she stumbles upon Declan(the owner of the house)'s parents. They are believe she is his girlfriend and her and Declan are forced to pretend they are dating.

This book was full of banter between the two main characters and the fake-dating trope was executed perfectly! I also love a good billionaire romance which was also super cute in this, especially with how Abi and Declan have different attitudes towards money. This read was filled with cute moments and the relationship was gradual and believable and overall a great read!

Rating: 5/5

Thank you NetGalley, Berkley Publishing Group, and Lynn Painter for the NetGalley arc!! <3

Maid for Each Other by Lynn Painter was a top-tier romcom to date. I fell absolutely head over heels in love with Abi and Declan. I mean, how could I not!? It had some of my favourite tropes: one bed, fake dating, and millionaire MMC. Lynn really spoiled us with such a loveable cast of characters, the perfect tropes, and a fun plot.

It's so incredibly rare to find a romcom with no despisable characters, so I appreciated this so much. I loved every single character to be honest and that made this book even more enjoyable than it already was. I just had such a fun time going on all these adventures with Abi and Declan, knowing that I would never be able to experience high society life myself. I think that's what made it such a fun read, the fact that it was so different from my everyday life that it took me completely out of my real life and into the story.

However, even though Declan and co. are filthy rich, I loved the little plot twist about what Declan and Roman do with their money to help others. Like could they be more perfect!?

Maid for Each Other was one of my most anticipated reads of the year, and it did NOT disappoint. I've had a pretty good track record with Lynn Painter's books, so I'm glad that I loved this one as well. My one complaint is that it felt a bit too short for Abi and Declan's relationship to fully develop in such a short time, so I would have loved for it to be longer (which is pretty selfish of me because I honestly just want more of Abi and Declan). I haven't seen anyone say this yet, so I shall be the first to ask: can we please get a book for Roman!? I absolutely loved his appearances and I would love to see him get his happily ever after.

Lynn Painter always knows how to make me swoon. I love her books so much. They are always the perfect romcoms, filled with witty banter and heart-melting moments. Abi and Declan’s story was such a fun ride. I loved the fake dating trope and really enjoyed Declan’s family and the side characters. Both main characters had great emotional depth, and the spice level was just right. If you’re a fan of Lynn Painter’s writing, this one will not disappoint!

Maid for Each Other did not feel like a classic Lynn book. The characters were boring and the plot was pretty basic. This writing just didn’t live up to my expectations for her, but some people might really love it!

Shout out to NetGally and Berkley publishing group @ penguin for providing me this ARC!! I was so excited to start this one because I absolutely love Lynn Painter. 🫧🫧🫧

Lynn Painter always has me laughing out loud and this book was no exception. Abi is a housecleaner and due to an infestation in her apartment, she's forced (yes, obviously forced) to stay in the millionaire's apartment that she cleans while he's away. Declan, the millionaire, lied to his parents about being a relationship. The name he gave his parents, *gasp* is Abby!! So what do they do when Abi is caught red-handed sleeping in Declan's bed? They fake date to convince his parents that Declan is not a heartless workaholic.

What you can expect from this wonderfully adorable rom-com:

🧼 Fake dating
🧼 maid x millionarie
🧼Dual Pov
🧼Forced Proximity
🧼Grumpy x sunshine

This book was so fasted-paced and cute. I usually don't like pop culture references in my books, but Lynn Painter made it work without it being too obnoxious. I was literally was searching for cameras in my room because on one page, she single handedly name dropped all my favorite artists.

And of course in Lynn Painter fashion, she has a sassy red head and a dark broody man who is absolutely down bad for her. I really enjoyed their banter and their chemistry. If there's one thing that makes a romance not enjoyable, it's lack of chemistry and tension. This book had SUCH good chemistry.

I'm a sucker for a ruse. I enjoyed the fake dating plot almost as much as the development of the romance. No one does fake dating like LP. Also no one does down bad pathetically in love MMCs like LP. Speaking of down bad....when Abi mentioned her love for Gilmore Girls, and Declan had never heard of it, he like instantly wanted to watch it.

"But somehow, her mention of spending a weekend binge-watching some random show I had no interest in watching nearly dropped me. Out of nowhere, I desperately wanted to watch it."

Things I loved: ❤️

✅ Abi personalty: She's not a copy paste of literally all other rom com fmcs. She was unique and confident and I aspire to be her. She's such passionate person and I really loved that about her.

✅ I loved the trope so much. Maid x millionaire. Like what more could you ask for?

✅ Laugh out loud funny. I don't usually laugh out loud, but this book was genuinely so hilarious.

✅I liked the surprise twist at the end. I was not expecting it.

✅ Fast paced and easy to read.

Things I didn't like: 👎🏻

❌ Cringe writing: I think almost all rom coms are guilty of this, but some lines really had me looking away from the page,

❌ Insta lovey from the mmc's pov: A lot of Declan's perspective was just romantic ramblings and I think his character had so much potential for character development.

❌Too short: I think this book should have been a bit longer, because just tension and chemistry does not = love.

Abi Mariano's apartment is being fumigated and the penthouse apartment of one of her cleaning clients is supposed to be empty for the week while she needs to be out of her own place. She figures that she can use the penthouse and then clean it up before he even knows. Except his parents come in and find her and think she's his girlfriend. Then horror of all horrors, he shows up in his own home and Abi has a lot to explain.

Declan, the owner of the apartment, sees how this can work to his advantage and makes a deal with Abi. She asks for $40,000 to pay off her student loans and she will go with him to a business weekend as his girlfriend. It stretches out for more than just the weekend and one thing Abi learns about Declan is that his wealth is not as important to him as it would seem on the outside. He plays the party line with his company, but behind it all his passion lies in a charitable company that does its good deeds anonymously.

This is a formulaic romance, but it is one that uses a third party to throw a spanner into the works. Lynn Painter has done a creditable job in creating a believable story. Her plot lines are sometimes hilarious, but easily followable. She uses her thoughts to paint a picture worth perusing.

Four Stars.

Berkeley Publishing Group provided the copy I read for this review. All opinions expressed are solely my own.

STOP this was absolutely so cute! Maid for Each Other is my first Lynn Painter book, and I have to say it won’t be my last 🫢

Abi is a spunky red head and don’t even get me started on the man that Declan is 🥵

My only real complaint was the first few pages were somewhat confusing that I almost wondered if I had started a 2nd of 3rd book in the series? But once I got about 7-8 pages in it clicked and I absolutely fell in love with both the writing and Abi.

If you’re looking for a quick, lighthearted fake dating book where the guy falls first- look no further than Maid for Each Other!
