There is no one who does banter better than Lynn Painter! I loved this one and thought Abi and Declan were adorable. I literally flew through this book in one sittting!

This was a cute fun read that i thoroughly enjoyed. I am such a fan of Lynn Painter and can't wait to read more.

This was my first Lynn Painter romance and I am wondering what took me so long to read her. I loved the fresh take on an old story. I loved the Abbi's spunk and determination. I absolutely adored the many situations they came across, I chuckled at times. I was rooting for a HEA and that's exactly what I got. Perfection!

Abi is a part-time professional cleaner juggling two jobs and school. Due to an infestation in her apartment, she needs a place to stay. With limited funds and options, she decides to stay overnight in the place she cleans since the owner is out of town. Her plans are upended when she wakes up the next morning to Declan’s parents, who mistakenly believe she is his girlfriend. To maintain the ruse, Declan proposes a fake dating arrangement, leading to unexpected emotions and complications.
This is a charming rom-com featuring a fantastic transition from fake dating to falling in love. Abi is a relatable and endearing protagonist who balances her responsibilities with humour and warmth. Declan initially appears as a typical wealthy bachelor but reveals depth and vulnerability as the story progresses.
The fake dating trope is executed humorously, full of heart, with ample opportunities for comical situations and heartfelt moments. The chemistry between Abi and Declan builds gradually, making their relationship feel natural and believable.
Overall, Maid for Each Other is a delightful read for those who love romantic comedies. Painter offers a blend of humour, heart, and a touch of glamour. Thank you to Netgalley and Berkley for a copy of this book. All opinions are 100% mine.

I LOVE this book. I knew I was going to enjoy it going in, since I've enjoyed books by Lynn Painter before. The characters were great, I loved seeing how the relationship progressed and how they got to know each other. The banter was hilarious. I read this book in one day because I did not want to put it down.

Thank you NetGalley and Berkley Publishing for this arc in exchange for an honest review!
Not one of my favorite Lynn Painter books.
I'm always on board for a millionaire romance with a little fake dating thrown in, but this just did not hit. This whole book seemed like it was having trouble figuring out if it was adult or young adult. Both characters seemed to lack and real depth and didn't seem to really develop or have any kind of introspection.
And the fake dating was kind of clunky to me. No real super great moments there and some of the side characters that were involved on the MMC's side were cringe a lot of the time.
All this to say I have enjoyed most of Lynn's books and will continue to read them 🩷

"I'm in love with the girl who buys stupid T-shirts because they're a good deal, whose hair sticks straight up in the morning when she runs around in pajamas with her own face on them, and the idiot who risks her ****** life to run in a 5K because she made a commitment."
Abi is very relatable to the twenty-something crowd; she went to school, landed herself in a bunch of debt, and has to work numerous jobs to be able to simply + live.
Declan reminds me perfectly of a snotty, rich guy who would be in a fraternity in college. However, he surprisingly doesn't just care about himself as the story goes on.
I loved the fake dating aspect. I loved how he thrust her into the rich people waters at those gatherings. I love how their business turned into pleasure. It's the perfect amount of romance and comedy. Chef's kiss
Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC!

I appreciate the opportunity to read this title, but unfortunately it didn’t quite capture my interest. While the premise was promising, I found it difficult to stay engaged. That said, I’m sure it will find its audience with readers who connect more strongly with the writing style or pacing.

Ever been to a school sponsored carnival?
If so, you may be familiar with the classic 'dunk tanks'. The one where a person precariously sits over questionable murky water and participants are invited to hurl balls onto a target causing said person to be 'dunked'.
Well, that's how this reader felt with this book. From the onset, felt dunked into this book without much by way of character development. Abi's immediate interaction with Dexxie's parents was unexpected and fruitful ground for forced proximity antics. Instead, the book veered into unlikely scenario of wealthy Dex capitulating to have a previously unknown stranger occupy his home. Then there's Abi, whose career goals are admirable but convolute the storyline when it could have more about just the loan for her and altruistic goals for him.
Enjoy this author so going to consider this an outlier from her usual body of work.

You know how in most billionaire romances, the FMC is usually really stubborn about not allowing the MMC help her financially? Sometimes to the point of absurdity? It's something that absolutely irritates me about billionaire romances, and I was wary of that going into this book. But I can say with total confidence that this is not like that. And that's not to say that the FMC is a gold-digger - SHE'S NOT. But Lynn Painter does an extraordinary job making the obstacles that these two characters face feel grounded in reality, relatable, and really endearing.
We follow Abi and Declan. Abi is Declan's night maid and Declan is an uber wealthy businessman, whose parents find Abi at Declan's apartment one morning after she sneakily stays the night in his spare bedroom. How the heck? you ask. Well, her apartment is being treated for infestation and she has nowhere else to stay. Since he's out of town, she figures what's the harm in her crashing for the time being if she leaves the place exactly as she found it? Especially because she already has access to the apartment and he won't be around for days. Well, except not. His very kind parents arrive at his apartment and think she's the mysterious (fake!) girlfriend Declan has been telling them all about for over a year. Cue the fake dating, which is all so cute and funny and romantic. Abi is a lovely, funny young woman who is trying to make it in life. Working two jobs and taking college classes, she is stretched to her limit. Through grit and a hard work ethic, she is chugging along until she's caught squatting at his home. Declan, very wealthy, has been so busy with work that he's told a white lie to his parents about a "girlfriend" and now the cat is out of the bag, unless....they make a deal.
I do appreciate the characters' emotional maturity and communication style. I love when text messages are included in a book. I also loved that Declan, while being a hunk of a man, successful and sharp, was not overbearing. He was thoughtful and kind, sometimes intimidating, but never threatening. He's funny but also serious, especially about his work and family. They complimented each other nicely. It was a believable transition from cautious strangers to friends to much more. This was one of the best examples of a billionaire romances I've read. I think anyone who is a fan of this trope will thoroughly enjoy Ali and Declan's love story, laugh along the way, gasp and giggle in delight, possibly cry. I recommend this book to all romance fans.
4.75/5

I love the absolutely insane premise of this and also the fact that the entire time, everyone who knows is like “yes actually this is insane”.
We all have a sleuth friend (or are the sleuth friend) and to have that friend be like “you know what it’s bonkers but I say do it anyway” is how you know you’re in for a fun time.
Of course our key problem is a lack of communication (boooo hiss) but I must admit I also would feel a little hesitant to trust commitment from someone who was like this car costs one million dollars I’ll drive it into the sea if you’ll do me a favor. The uberwealthy are truly another breed and how do you explain that to them in a way that they’ll understand?
We love a man who understands the cost of inhalers and epipens though - and we do not mind a man who has so much money he can make a bouquet of them so that we do not die (:

Abi is a maid for Declan, and when she has to find temporary housing for a little while, she decides to move into one of her clients apartments who is always out of town. Except, he comes back and somehow they immediately enter into a fake dating scenario for convenience on both ends. This is a pretty predictable read, but it was still a fun way to pass the time. I felt like maybe it wasn’t as deep as a few others of Lynn Painter though. I was a little annoyed by the constant bashing of Declan by Abi. Just because he has money, doesn’t mean he is a shitty person and to assume such constantly was exhausting.
Bottom Line: This was a fun read, a lighthearted romance and decent beach read material.

Abi is a student and cleaner who is forced to evacuate her house due to an infestation and cannot afford a hotel. She knows that the owner of a penthouse she cleans is out of town and decides to stay at his house while he is away.
It is all going fine until his parents come to the apartment and think she is Declan's girlfriend. He decides to make a proposition- pretend they are together to get his parents off his back, and he will pay for all her living expenses during the arrangement. But soon, Abi and Declan start to actually feel things for each other and the arrangement becomes complicated.
Why Jackie loves it
This book gave me "Pretty Woman" vibes, even though Vivienne and Abi have different professions. Two rich men who want to employ a smart woman as a no-drama girlfriend. This book was sweet and fun. I liked Declan and appreciated he was written as a respectful, thoughtful character- I was not uncomfortable with the power dynamic.

Sometimes books that are labeled as a rom-com don’t always end up that way for the reader. However, this story delivered the humor.
The lead female character was very witty and had a great sense of humor, especially when it came to fake dating scenarios with a millionaire. The banter between these two is really what made the story. Her sass balanced with his ultra dry, hard-to-crack facade brought balance to a familiar trope.
The rags-to-riches scenes were memorable and so sweet. I love these two together! The secondary characters became the stage and added another layer of delight to the story.
Painter pulls out the stops with her FMC character and the quick wit, but there were a few areas where she was getting a bit mean and overly snarky. Dex was sometimes not communicative, which led to issues, of course, and a third act breakdown. ugh
Maid for Each Other is a sweet, charming, and romantic story that only Painter can tell with her flirty, light-hearted way with words that envelop the reader.
I might be a rarity in that I was not thrilled with the way she chose to end this one. We do get the happily ever after, but I really wanted more!

Another fun romance read from Painter. I love a good fake-dating trope and this book did not disappoint. Abby and Declan are fun characters and were the perfect story to help me out of my reading slump. A great beach read for sure!

Finally, the moment I’d been waiting for! A LIGHT AND FUN read with super surreal moments and adorable characters. Of course, it had to be Lynn Painter to pull me out of my misery — OBSESSED 🥹 Thank you NetGalley for the ARC. I truly enjoyed it.

I really wanted to love this, but I think between how fast it actually moved and how it felt like it was trying to speed up a slow burn a little just didn’t do it for me.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

I have previously only read Lynn Painters YA books so I was super excited to finally read an adult romance book by her. She has a knack for writing quick fast paced love stories and this one felt just like that. They immediately started fake dating at the beginning of the book. It was hard to see the characters as themselves without the other because it happened so fast. It was very hard to see the characters develop throughout the book since we didn’t know what they were like at the beginning. There’s definitely people out there who will love this but it was just okay for me.

the PERFECT summer read y’all!! this was my first lynn painter, i know it’s crazy how i haven’t read her previous very popular and very loved books. i’ll definitely try to do it sooner now that this was a huge win.
let start but saying YES it did give me all the “pretty woman” vibes but in a modern world with an even richer mmc 😋 i loved both declan & abi, they were such fun and refreshing characters to read about and i thoroughly enjoyed their story. i think the book was really well paced and their development was earned!! everything was so so adorably good 😭
acts of service is the IT love language for me and this man is fluent in it so what else did i expect other than love him??

Maid for Each Other is for the romcom girlies!! This made me laugh and swoon so hard. Absolutely loved!
This is fake dating, opposites attract at its finest. Abi and Declan were too cute! I loved their dynamic. These two were endlessly entertaining and sweet. The banter these two have is fantastic and they're chemistry is sizzling. The relationship has great development so it didn't feel like insta-love. I was really rooting for these two.
The plot is wacky romcom which was exactly what I needed. It was funny, fun and enjoyable.
Highly recommend!!
