If you’re looking for the perfect romantic comedy to make you laugh, swoon, and maybe even re-evaluate your cleaning routine, Maid for Each Other by Lynn Painter is the next book you need to pick up immediately.
Abi Mariano, a part-time student and full-time cleaner, finds herself in a bit of a bind when her apartment is overrun by an infestation. Enter the penthouse of the elusive millionaire Declan Powell, who’s conveniently out of town for a week. Abi agrees to crash there, thinking it’s no big deal… until one morning she’s greeted by Declan’s parents, who’ve apparently heard all about Abi….except, not as his maid, but as his girlfriend. Cue the awkwardness, right?
Declan, of course, has no idea who Abi is, and when his little white lie about a girlfriend goes spiraling out of control….he makes a deal that entails her pretending to date him for the week, and he’ll make sure Abi gets everything she needs. It’s a classic “fake dating” setup that’s got all the banter, chemistry, and hilarious misunderstandings you could hope for🤭
Painter’s writing is sharp, funny, and just the right amount of heart. Her books never fail to provide a rom-com with witty dialogue, a dash of romance, and characters you’ll cheer for, Maid for Each Other will be your go-to comfort read. It’s a match maid in heave in the best way possible.

If you LOVE a rom-com that’s equal parts hilarious and swoon worthy and make you giggle like crazy, ‘Maid for Each Other’ by Lynn Painter is WILL BE your new obsession.
Abi Mariano, a hardworking house cleaner is just trying to survive college while juggling two jobs (SO REAL😭). She ends up staying in her rich, mysterious boss's penthouse when her apartment gets... well, infested. No big deal, until she finds herself pretending….to be his girlfriend. 😬
Then, enters Declan Powell, the super successful executive who only has room for one thing: his career. But then his parents come in and drop the bomb that they met his girlfriend (aka Abi, who he's never even talked to but conviently used her name to fake his girlfriend). Now he’s panicked, He decides proposes a perfectly innocent arrangement….fake date him,(HELL YEAH) and he’ll take care of all her needs. It’s purely business (sure it is).
Y’all. The chemistry between these two? FIRE🔥. Declan is a complete mess of a rich guy pretending to have it all together and I am a TOTAL simp for him as he is equally a simp for Abi. Abi? She’s just trying to survive while accidentally stealing his heart (which this could be me). This book is the perfect mix of “pretend relationship” trope, a dash of “oops, this is real” drama, and SO much LOL awkwardness that had me on the floor.
Honestly, this is a rom-com lover’s dream. It’s quirky with so much witty banter, and a slow-burn romance that’ll have you SWOONING one minute and cackling the next. I couldn’t put it down. I want this to be a film ASAP.
10/10,Lynn Painter never fails providing the BEST romances ever.

I'm giving this 3.5 stars! It was a very quick, easy read that kept me engaged the whole time. The romance was cute, even though it was pretty far-fetched. I'm not sure if it is a story that will stick with me, but I did enjoy reading it!
Thank you to the author, Berkley Publishing, and NetGalley for the gifted copy!

Lynn Painter can do no wrong.
i ate this book up.
i will forever be obsessed with the way her books always feel like im watching a romcom while cuddles up in a fuzzy blanket with a warm cup of coffee/hot chocolate.
Fake dating is chefs kiss in here.
the tension.. omg.. someone pour some cold water on me because hot dayum!
I already want to read this book again.
i will come back to update with a more detailed review after i process how much i adored these two

A fun light hearted read. The dual pov made it exciting to hear about both Declan and Abi’s perspectives as their fake relationship went on and they started to fall for each other. Lots of fun banter and sweet moments.

maid for each other by lynn painter gives netflix rom com! this cinderella take on a maid meeting a billionaire and falling in love. I had fun while reading this, I felt the tension, I felt the cute scenes. I can’t say it’s revolutionary, I was about 60% of the way through and was ready for the characters to admit their feelings. you can always rely on lynn painter to give you a solid, palette cleansing romance. thank you net-galley and berkley for this e-arc!!

"Our breaths were lingering, his hot green eyes my entire universe, and my brain was at war with my body. Because dear lord, I'd never wanted anything as much as I wanted to give into this. To follow these sparks and set the world on fire."
Maid for Each Other.... this was my first read by Lynn Painter. Oh my goodness I fell in love with Painter's writing. This is everything you want in a rom-com. Sassy and fun banter, chemistry, and such a binge-able storyline.
The spice level is very minimal but it does pick up a little towards the end of the book. I am obsessed with the fake dating trope and loved the Maid vs billionaire concept.
Also... I loved the characters on the side!! My only issue is I was hoping for a little more depth and emotional tie here. I love the deep emotional connections I have with romance books and it was lacking for me here.
Overall, a quick and easy light romance.
3.5/5 stars

3.7 🌟
This was fast paced, with all of the sweet and amusing ingredients of a rom-com. I wasn’t necessarily swept off my feet by Abi and Declan as a pair, but I did enjoy the light heartedness of the storyline.
— Thank you so much to Berkley and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this eARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book was adorable! I wanted to keep reading Maid for Each Other and ended up finishing it in about a day. My only complaint is that the ending felt a bit rushed.

The writing in this felt different than what I’m used to from Lynn Painter. Love her so much, but I didn’t enjoy this one.

THANKS SO MUCH to Berkley and Netgalley for an early copy of Lynn Painters newest release! Her books bring me so much joy, who doesn’t love a good rom com?? This had me hooked from page one and I binged it so quickly. Declan & Abi were (MAID) FOR EACH OTHER (she’s a maid hehe)!!! Also if you like rich billionaire boyfriends, this is for you😏 Their chemistry and banter had me squealing! I don’t normally giggle or laugh at loud at my books, but I caught myself doing exactly that at least 5+ times. My husband was like “wow this must be such a good book”. Painter has such a talent for pulling you in and making you fall in love with the characters she creates and their chemistry. I will always read everything she writes.🫶🏼
No spoilers but Declan is the SWEETEST & I wish all MMCs could be like him. If you’re looking for the cutest🥹, flirtiest❤️🔥, funniest🤣 rom-com, make sure to preorder this! It’s killing me that everyone has to wait until July to read it😭 but I feel so blessed to have been able to read an early copy so THANK YOU AGAIN BERKLEY I LOVE YOU💗

Big thanks to NetGalley for giving me an ARC of this book, I always love getting to read Lynn Painter's stuff early!
So, if I am being honest, this is probably closer to a 3.25 or 3.5 for me. I love me a good fake dating trope, so that it like 1 star right there. However, I had a little bit of a hard time gauging how quickly this relationship evolves. It feels like it was pretty fast to go from strangers with a business agreement to being madly in love. I don't mind books with a fast moving relationship, but I felt like it could have been fleshed out a little bit more. I did find myself liking Declan's chapters a lot more than Abi's. That could partly be because I really love listening to a guy pine for a girl (and Lynn does that so well), but there were also just parts of Abi's character that didn't seem to make a lot of sense to me. Like that she was letting herself get so confused because of the story she was writing and her whole complex with her asthma. I also feel like I wish that we had gotten at least 1 really slimy rich person, as opposed to making them all just the sweetest most wonderful people in the world. That rang really false to me.
But in terms of what I did like... I loved the banter between these two. It was so charming. I obviously love that this whole book is an homage to Pretty Woman. I know that movie has aged horrendously, but I still love it. I mean who doesn't want to imagine that a millionaire is just going to sweep them off their feet. Finally, I AM DYING TO READ THE SHORT STORY ABI IS WRITING! Like seriously, Lynn, PLEASE write that because the snippets that I got of it throughout this book had me hooked.
Overall, if you like Lynn Painter's previous work then I think that you will have a good time with this book. This is by no means her strongest work, in my opinion, but it's certainly not bad. I think for a good, quick read to help you turn your brain off it is a solid choice.

This is such a fun and cute Cinderella story rom-com!
Sure, you will have to suspend your disbelief and maybe also press pause on your feelings towards the uber-rich. BUT, this book IS fiction and I loved it for how entertaining and romantic it was! It truly felt like a 90s/early 2000s rom-com movie in the best way!
When MFA student and part-time maid Abi crashes at the empty penthouse apartment she's supposed to be cleaning because she has nowhere else to go while her apartment is being fumigated, she does NOT expect to wake up to the owner's parents greeting her and assuming she's his girlfriend. She also doesn't expect for this to lead to a fake-dating scheme instead of jail time. She strikes a deal with the apartment's owner, Declan, including lodging while her apartment is being worked on and compensation. However, when feelings enter the equation, what starts out as nothing more than a business transaction gets much more messy and complicated.
This story is full of banter, humor, and fun!
Thank you so much to Berkley and NetGalley for the free ARC in exchange for my honest review!

THANK YOU SO MUCH NETGALLEY AND BERKLEY! I LOVE LYNN PAINTER SO MUCH!!!
This book is a total vibe! Abi, a hardworking cleaner, ends up staying in the penthouse of her boss (whom she’s never met) after an infestation in her building. Things get wild when his parents show up, thinking she’s his girlfriend. Turns out, Dex made up the whole relationship to get them off his back. So, he convinces Abi to fake date him for a week, and of course, things get complicated.
It’s got all the fun of a fake dating trope with some serious chemistry, humor, and drama. Abi’s hustle is relatable, and Dex’s career-driven vibe adds the perfect tension. Quick, funny, and swoon-worthy! Absolutely adore Lynn Painter's writing, I ate it right up naturally (I have read everything under the sun by her, so this is no surprise)!!!

This was such a cute read. I love Lynn Painter so this was no different. This has officially shifted to my newest comfort read, it has everything I needed; sweet, spicy and swoony moments.

I have read some (but not all!) of Lynn Painter's books, so when my request to review this arc was approved, I was elated. Like the other titles I've read by this author, I had a hard time putting this book down. Lynn's books are fun and read like a cozy rom-com, which is often what I want in the romance books I pick up.
Maid for Each Other is a sort of Cinderella/Maid in Manhattan/Pretty Woman mash-up that follows a spunky FMC named Abi and a straight-laced MMC named Declan. Abi works hard for the minimal things she has, including the graduate school education she is pursuing. Declan comes from riches, but is also hard-working. They get thrown into a fake-dating situation that of course ends up with the two in a real relationship. The banter between the two characters is a lot of fun, as are the situations they navigate together (the private shopping event at the jewelry store, the 5k, the bowling alley birthday party...)
Painter is so creative in the way she writes her characters and the worlds they live in. I have yet to be disappointed by any of her books, and this one certainly hit all the high points for me.
Thank you to Berkley Publishing Group for the opportunity to read and review this arc prior to release in July 2025.

This was a super cute beach read. Literally, I read it on the beach. It felt nice and low stakes, sort of perfect for a romance, but it stuck to the romance formula - flirt flirt, date, sex, 3rd act break up, then get back together.

3.5 rounded up!
There are so many cute things about this book. Declan is a millionaire and Abi is a maid. Abi cleans his apartment and ends up in a tough spot with Declan. They come to a deal where they will fake date for the weekend (and he pays her a lot of money to do it). Obviously, feelings catch.
I liked how Declan is serious yet ends up being so enamored with Abi. And I really liked Abi's character; she was smart and practical. I also really enjoyed the asthmatic representation by her and how it affects her life. And who doesn't love living the millionaire lifestyle?
Overall, while I thought this book was cute, there are some things that were a miss for me. Painter writes great YA novels that don't feel like they need a lot of depth, and unfortunately, this one felt that way. I was really hoping for a more adult feel to this novel. Everything was very surface level and the scenes stumbled together a bit.
I always enjoy Painter's work and I will say that I still enjoyed this one. I will continue to read everything she writes!

I highly recommend you read Maid for Each Other by Lynn Painter, this light hearted romantic comedy, I started reading this book and could not put it down. I could picture every scene in my head. I absolutely loved the main characters Declan and Abi, and the sweet story about them! I give this book 5 stars out of 5 and would give it more if I could!! This is a very relaxing book to read and fall into the wonderful world of Abi and Declan.
Thank you #NetGalley for the arc, #MaidforEachOther is a run away hit book that you won't be able to put down!!

I’ve loved everything I’ve read by Lynn Painter! She knows how to write books that are just plain fun to read! This book was so cute. It’s definitely a bit cheesy and silly in parts, but it didn’t take away from my overall enjoyment!
I really enjoyed the dual POV. Both Declan and Abi were easy characters to love! Their banter and chemistry was perfect. The spice in this book is minimal, but there is definitely a lot of sexual tension. They fall fast and hard. I’m not always a big fan of fake dating, but I thought Painter did a great job with these two.
If you’re looking for a cute, lighthearted, fake dating romance, then I definitely recommend grabbing a copy of this book! As always, I can’t wait to read from Lynn Painter in the future!
