This book was such a fun read!
In this book, Abi needs a place to stay for a couple weeks. She works as a cleaner and happens to know one of her clients, Declan, will be away for two weeks, so she decides to secretly stay at his place. However, he finds out. Luckily for her, he needs a fake girlfriend. They make a deal: she can stay at his place if she pretends to be his girlfriend for an important work event. The problem? Everyone loves Abi, and Declan, who was determined to hate her, finds himself starting to like her as well. As Abi and Declan spend more time together, and their scheme gets more complicated, they have to determine what, if anything, of their fake dating and relationship is real.
While not super original, this was still a fun book to read. Declan and Abi are fun characters and seeing their transformation from enemies to lovers was fun. I was rooting for their relationship throughout the story. This book has plenty of romance tropes, but I mean that in the best way. It's like a Hallmark movie.
Perfect for fans of fake dating, enemies to lovers, and romance tropes.

3.5 💫

this was cute. i adore pretty woman and when i saw that this was giving vibes from it, I had to request it.

I really liked Declan’s character.
I loved the banter between him & Abi.
There were moments that had me annoyed with Abi.

I was hooked in the beginning but after the 50% mark I felt pretty meh about it. Which is why my rating is what it is.

Overall I think this is a cute and quick read.

Thank you Netgalley, Berkley Publishing for this arc.

If it has Lynn's name on it, I need it. There hasn’t been a book of hers yet that hasn’t disappointed me and I was beyond excited to get my hands on this new one. But sadly, this was a bit of a letdown for me. I went in with too high of an anticipation and the overall execution of the book didn’t meet my expectations.

I did enjoy the friendship that formed between unlikely people. Though they have vastly different lifestyles, at their core, Abi and Declan share the same ethics and values. I enjoyed their blooming friendship and how they would tease one another in a loving way. But I just couldn’t connect with Abi and Declan as a couple. I didn’t feel the butterflies or felt their chemistry as their relationship progressed. I think I was trying so hard to fall for this couple that I was grasping at anything to feel something.

My one small qualm with this book is Declan’s unlimited supply of prescription inhalers and EpiPens. As a pharmacist, I am curious how a man with no diagnosis of asthma or COPD and no mentions of anaphylactic allergies is able to make a bouquet of prescription strength inhalers along with a large supply of Epi-Pens. Though it was a kind gesture, someone is losing their medical license over it.

I truly wanted to live this book because I have loved this author's past work, but something was missing for me with this story.

Thank you to Berkley through NetGalley for the AC in exchange for an honest review

Maid for Each Other
by Lynn Painter

This was such a fun romcom! I’m a huge fan of all Lynn Painter’s books — she just writes the best banter in every book. If you’re into fake dating and millionaire boyfriends, you’re going to love this one.

Abi and Declan are an unlikely match thrown together by a series of unexpected circumstances. Declan’s family believes he has a girlfriend, and Abi needs a place to stay after her apartment becomes unlivable. Abi, who works as a maid in Declan’s building, cleans his fancy apartment every week. Since he’s away and she’s desperate, she doesn’t see the harm in crashing at his place temporarily. One thing leads to another — cue the coincidences, fake dates, and, of course, a sweet love story. The luxury stay on a tropical island added to the fun!

I gave this one four stars. It’s an easy, fast, and super fun read. I will say, I read it right after Accidentally Amy (also by Lynn Painter), which I absolutely adored — I think if I hadn’t read Accidentally Amy first, I might have given Maid for Each Other five stars too!

Abi is devastated when her apartment is being fumigated & decides to stay overnight at a house she cleans while it's owner is out of town. She has the surprise of her life when the owner's parents show up, and are thrilled to meet their son's girlfriend, Abby. Declan is equally surprised that his parents have met his fabricated "girlfriend", so he tracks Abi down to play the part for a while.... until it starts to feel real.

I loved this book! I've only read Lynn Painter's young adult books, and I loved getting to seeing her romcom & spice style. Abi & Declan had such great banter & I loved how they both sassed each other so much. Their chemistry was electric. I really enjoyed the two best friends as well! I was really worried Roman was going to be sleazy, and I was super relieved that wasn't the case. Overall, I thought this was a fast & fun read! I highly recommend!

"She was just so fucking alive that she very nearly glowed."

Thank you so much to Berkley Publishing Group, NetGalley & Lynn Painter for an ARC 🫶🏼

Thanks to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing for the ARC. All thoughts are honest and my own.

This was an absolutely adorable rom com that had me giggling and kicking my feet at almost every chance. From the moment the muffins were eaten by Declan's parents (blasphemous), I knew this book was going to be a funny time. And it was.

I loved the characters, but especially Declan. He fell first and he fell hard and I felt the yearning through the pages. I wanted to shake Abi because he was so perfect and she was so stubborn. But it was well worth it for the love declaration at the end of this story.

This has been my favorite Lynn Painter book by far and I highly recommend you pick this book up once it is released.

This book was the perfect blend of great characters, well paced storyline and lighthearted fun romance. I often don’t like a rich guy - poor girl story but I couldn’t put this one down. I will absolutely be recommending this to our library’s rom-com, romance readers!

Maid For Each Other by Lynn Painter, published by Berkley Publishing Group, is a witty and fun read. A fake relationship slow burn, the perfect summer beach read.
Declan and Abi's story is witty, fun, hilarious and really well written, 4.5 stars.

This was such a fun, fast-paced read with total rom-com energy! Abi ends up fake dating the guy whose penthouse she secretly crashes in, and things spiral in the best way. It’s not super deep, and I wish we got more from Declan’s POV, but I flew through it. Funny, flirty, and easy to picture as a movie!

Thanks to NetGalley & Berkley for the ARC

I love Lynn Painter books! The characters are always likable, usually there's great banter and not too much angst. This newest book did not disappoint. I loved the interesting twist that started from page 1 that led to this mistaken identity meet cute. Lynn is one of the few authors that I will read the book without reading about it first to see if I'll be interested. It's a pretty vanilla book, so if you are looking for the spice, you won't find it in her books.

Funny, romantic, engaging! I loved the style, and the characters. It's unabashedly a Cinderella story, but these days especially, such a story can be a relief if one has had a stressful day--week--year.

I especially appreciated how Palmer slyly turned some of the tropes most often used in romancelandia upside down. That just added frosting to a very delicious cake!

I love Lynn! She makes me laugh. All of her books are fun. This one was so great. The brooding millionaire and sweet chaotic girl done right in this one! These two had good chemistry and such a fun story line. This has been done to death but Lynn made it new and fun.
This is an adult novel. There is a tiny bit of drinking and plenty of F bombs. It seems to be his favorite word. There is a couple of sex scenes.

Another fun, fabulous Lynn Painter title! I devour all of her books and always recommend to someone looking for a great Romance read! Her characters have immense depth as well as many laugh out loud moments. Lynn Painter is an autobuy/auto read for me and many romance readers I know!

Lynn Painter--you put CRACK in this book!!! It was hysterical, heartwarming, and had me literally telling everyone about it.

I can't stop thinking about this book! Declan and Abi, OMG. What an adorable story with truly memorable characters. Dexxie was the best! And Abi had me laughing like a fool the whole way through. When she tells Dex's mom how they "met", I literally thought I was going to pass out. Hysterical and so classically something that I WOULD DO LOL.

This is possibly my favorite book I've read (ARC anyway) in awhile. I will be spreading the news FAR AND WIDE.

"No, I made a deal with a devilish maid, and it cost me my whole heart." ARE YOU KIDDING ME, LYNN??!?!?!

5.0/5.0, no notes. Excuse me while I go sob now.

Wow! Lynn Painter does it again! I absolutely adore their books, and this one did not disappoint! I love the fake dating trope in this! Abi's character is so fresh & fun, and Dex is so swoon worthy!!!

I loved their relationship, even when they were "fake dating" you could tell they were perfect for each other!

Definitely recommend this book if you are looking for a sweet, lighthearted & fun romance book with the fake dating trope & amazing banter!

Rounded up for the cuteness- the buildup was fun. The “finally” moment was good. Dex & Abi were great together, even while faking it. I did not know that about scorpions, and hydrangeas are always beautiful in a bouquet.

I received an ARC from NetGalley. Thanks!

3.5⭐

Thank you Berkeley Romance and Netgalley for an ARC of this book

For fans of:
✿ Maid in Manhattan with JLO <3
✿ a PG-er version of Pretty Woman
✿ Billionaire romances
✿ Light-hearted easy-to-read romances

I think Lynn Painter is the QUEEN of quirky banter and easy-to-read romances. This book was very quick to get through (I nearly read it in a day) and it's one of those romances that's a cute but great palate cleanser. Their jokes and dialogue had me giggling and kicking my feet like Declan's talking to me!!

The ending was soooooo cute. We LOVE it when men pay attention!! I will have to say that the side characters, like Roman, were more entertaining at times than their relationship. Like the way he walked in with the boxes as Declan's *literally* trying to declare his love for Abi? LMAOOOO I am that kind of situational awkward.

Their relationship did leave me wanting more at times, but I still enjoyed it. I just wish their relationship was developed more and the miscommunication in the end felt a bit familiar/predictable to me. However, for those who enjoy grumpyxsunshine, fake dating, billionaire romances and forced proximity, this will be the book for you!!

I love her books as they are such a delight and make you laugh and smile. Abi is a character that is so relatable. She is polar opposite of Declan and their chemistry is off the charts. The stories that Abi tells to embarrass Declan were priceless.

Fake dating, forced proximity, grumpy/sunshine all my favorite tropes in one book made this a quick fun read.
