This series is EVERYTHING 😭 Blair + Denver’s story was so goddam wholesome. I LOVE a man head over heels obsessed that will do ANYTHING to get his girl & this was Denny through and through!

Second chance is one of my favourite tropes & combined with childhood friends/high school sweethearts?? PERFECTION 👏🏽 The dual timelines/flashbacks conveyed these flawlessly— it was SO sweet to see the two characters grow up together & get to watch them fall in love twice over.

I LOVE the friendships & found family in this series and as an equine girly with big ranch dreams, I reallyyy appreciate the super authentic little details of the working ranch & Denny and Blair riding together 🥹🫶🏽

Seeing Blair learn how to accept help & the way Denny just helped without her needing to ask was SO precious & heartwarming. I absolutely adored these two. And his tattoo?? 😭🐻

I thought the mental health rep was very well done in this plot— just be aware some pretty sensitive topics are inc, and though written thoughtfully and with compassion, I would check cw’s! 🫶🏽

A very rambly, post-night shift review from me but overall I’d highly recommend this book & series if you love a wholesome, spicy, small town cowboy romance!

A heartfelt, emotional second-chance romance set in the small town of Wells Canyon, Change the Hart follows Blair as she returns home to care for her mother—and comes face to face with Denver, the boy who broke her heart years ago. Told through dual timelines and perspectives, their story is full of longing, grief, unresolved love, and hope.

I was completely swept away by Blair and Denny’s journey. The writing is emotional and honest, the chemistry is intense, and the character growth feels so real. I laughed, cried, and rooted for them the whole way through. A beautiful story about love, loss, and finding your way back to the person who never really left your heart.

Highly recommend to anyone who loves second-chance romances with depth and heart.

Summary: Blair returns to Wells Canyon to care for her mum—only to collide with her past and Denver, the cowboy who broke her heart. Can love survive thirteen years apart?

This was so good!!! Loved it from beginning to end, especially seeing how Denny evolved emotionally from alive and wells to seeing red to finally change of hart was really amazing to see. I genuinely laughed out loud more times than I can count, and Denny and Blair’s love is so cute and wholesome

This was an absolute perfection as far as second-chance romances go!
As someone who loves this particular trope, this book, and Bailey Hannah, delivered everything I could ever want. 🥺💙

The yearning, the love, the care, the beautiful tender moments, the happiness - it was all beautifully balanced with the heartbreak and sadness that often come with those romances, as well as other heavy emotional factors explored in this book. It was the most perfect blend of all of these elements. I was honestly speechless when I finished this book - that’s how good it was. 😮‍💨

From the moment that Denny entered the chat (the story), I knew he will be my favourite (sorry, Austin!🥲). This man - his determination, thoughtfulness, honesty and the overwhelming (in the best way) amount of love he had for Blair, completely stole my heart.

He knew what he wanted from the moments he laid eyes on Blair after years apart, and he gave it his all. After their relationship ended fourteen years ago, he was determined to show her that it had always been her for him, and this time, he wasn’t letting her go. 😭
His sincere, sweet, loving words and gestures made my cry, scream and melt. This man. THIS MAN!!! AND HE WHIMPERS!!! 😭😮‍💨🤭

Honestly, I don’t know who I had a bigger crush on - Denny or Blair. 👀

I adored Blair’s character! I loved her chaos, how real and relatable she felt. I appreciated how she chose what was best for her and her life, and how she stood firm when it came to her bodily autonomy, even when it hurt. I loved following her journey working through her feelings, accepting them, and also growing more comfortable asking others for help. 🥹
Also - the mouth on this girl? It was very refreshing to see a female character being unapologetically filthy and fun! I was absolutely obsessed, and now I need to find more FMCs like her! 🤭🥰

The flashbacks throughout the book added so much to the emotional experience. Seeing Blair and Denny go from friends to lovers, full of hope and promises, then face difficult life moments that eventually tore them apart - it broke my heart. But seeing them in the present, slowly reconnecting and rebuilding? It put my heart back together. 🥹💙

I laughed. I swooned. I cried a lot (non-stop from around 80%). I felt so much love for Denny and Blair and their story. I just wanted to give them both the biggest hug. 🫂

This book is 100% going on my forever-favourites list!

Thank you so much Orion Publishing & Netgalley for this e-arc in exchange for my honest opinion.

From the very first page, I was immersed in the emotional journey of Blair Hart and Denver Wells. A story of love lost and found, of healing, and of the power of second chances.

Blair returns to her hometown of Wells Canyon after thirteen years, compelled by her mother's illness. Denver, now a reformed cowboy with a heart full of regret, is determined to prove she still belongs to him. Their reunion is anything but simple, and the sparks that fly are as much about unresolved pain as they are about lingering affection.

Bailey Hannah masterfully navigates the complexities of their relationship, weaving past and present through a dual timeline that only enhanced the emotions in this story. The flashbacks to their teenage romance provided context to their current struggles and highlighted the depth of their connection.

The characters are flawed and real, their emotions raw and relatable. Blair's resilience and Denver's vulnerability create a dynamic that is both heartbreaking and hopeful. Their banter brings was top notch, whilst their shared history adds layers of depth. A note on their history: check content warnings and be sure to know your triggers before you dive in, this touches on a subject that might not be ok with you (and that's totally fine!)

The chemistry between Blair and Denver is palpable, culminating in scenes that are as steamy as they are emotionally charged. Yet somehow this is still the kind of slow burn that leaves you breathless. What a wonderful story teller Bailey is becoming.

Change of Hart is more than just a romance; it's a story about confronting the past, embracing vulnerability, and finding the courage to love again. If you love small town romances with depth, heart, and lots of spice, this book is yours for the taking.

What a lovely read this was! I have a love/hate story with second chance romance but this book worked for me. Mainly because I genuinely liked the main characters and I could understand why they broke up. So watching them start over was heartwarming.
I would keep this book in mind if you're looking for an angsty but also sweet cowboy romance.
I definetely need to read more from this author as well.

I loved being back in Wells Ranch again, and for a second chance romance.. perfection 👌🏼

Bailey Hannah KNOWS how do to second chance romance justice- no miscommunication or third act break up, no other nonsense that’s going to completely ruin their story.. just two people in love who eventually find their way back to each other!

The book was dual timeline which really added depth to their story as we got to see Denver & Blair as childhood friends, teens in love, the good times and the hard times.. leading to the eventual end of their relationship and the reasons why. I also liked that we saw the struggles Blair faced with her mental health as well as the hard moments of caring for her mom with dementia.

The second Denver laid eyes on Blair again, he was a goner. I loved how hard he was prepared to fight to get her back, that man would literally do anything for her!

“You call, I come. Always.”

“You, I want you, Blair. If you’re the bride, I want to get married. If you’re the mother, I want kids”

Anyway.. when’s the next one? 😆

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an eARC in exchange for my honest review.

I am not the biggest fan of the second chance trope but boy did I EAT THIS UP! It was such an amazing book! I devoured Denny and Blake’s story in 24 hours. It was sweet with steamy spice.and all things giddy. The dual timeline allowed us to see how integral and important they both used to be to each others live’s as well as their families. The story was so emotional and well written that I couldn’t put it down. I can’t recommend it enough!

I received my ARC of Change of Hart a while ago and kept putting off reading it because I was so excited for them, and you know you can only experience a story for the first time once. I devoured Denny and Blair's epic love story in less than a day, and it was everything I'd hoped it would be. It was sweet and spicy and everything in between. I loved how Bailey used dual timelines to show us how deep their relationship ran and how integral they were to each others families. I also loved seeing the early snippets into Kate and Jackson's relationship. I just wanted to hug these kids and swallow the grief they were dealing with. They experienced so much trauma and loss in such a short time, and it was so easy to feel what they were feeling. This story was so well written, and I cried so many tears.

I love each book in the Wells Ranch series with each keep getting better and better. This is the third book in the series and is a second chance small town cowboy romance with a dual timeline.

I am not usually a fan of books with a dual timeline but Bailey got this one right. It was important to thier story them in the past as well as the present. The writing style is great with a dual POV.

Please check the trigger warnings however I thought it was sensitively written.

I can’t wait for the rest of the series.

'Dying is inevitable, living isn’t.'

Second Chance Romance. Country Romance. Childhood Sweethearts.

This was so much more than a country romance with some hot cowboys on a ranch (though that was definitely a part of it).

This was two people pulled apart by the hardships of life through events out of their control, finding a way to heal and move forward after years apart.

Denver is just a wonderful man, loyal, caring, observant (sadly fictional) and it was really refreshing to read a book where there was one character completely certain of their love and future. And he is the perfect match for Blair as the strong woman takes on so much for everyone in her life, he takes care of her.

Though it was full of humour and romance, it was paired with some very heavy real life things that can often be left out of romance stories.

TW ⚠️

Cancer, mentions of abortion, depression, altzheimers.

Change of Hart is book 3 in the Wells Ranch Series frosting Denver ‘Denny’ Wells & Blair Hart.

Blair has been tagging along with the Wells family to rodeos since she was 13 years old. She would spend all day with Denny but at school she didn’t exactly fit into his world. She’s had a crush on Denny forever but always assumed it wasn’t reciprocated.

Blair basically becomes an added member of the Wells family but as she and Denny grow up, they realize their true feelings for one another. By the time they reach high school they’re officially a couple and find any opportunity they can to sneak off alone.

They have plans to move to the city for university together and start their lives. But when Denny’s mom winds up really sick with cancer, he decides he can’t leave town. What should be the most exciting times in their lives turns heartbreaking and it causes them to spend the next 14 years apart.

Now Blair is back in Wells canyon and Denny will stop at nothing to get their HEA, but is there to much damage done for Blair to even consider it ?

Holy. Freaking. Shit. This book was Absolutely everything I didn’t even know I needed and so much more. I laughed, I cried (a lot) and simply could not put it down! These two were ultimate end game and I just knew they’d find a way back to one another. This story was raw and soo emotional, but the spice was out of this world hot!

I simply love this series beyond words and I can’t wait for the rest! Thank you Bailey & her publisher for the ARC, grab this book today!

Denver and Blair did not disappoint. The chemistry between these two 😮‍💨 so good! Loved the dual timelines and getting to see what happened that made them go their separate ways as teens.

Blair moves back home to help care for her mum and as soon as Denver lays eyes on her, he is determined to win his girl back. Their story is beautiful and I truly loved being back in this world. Denver just really loves hard and I'm so glad they got their happy ending.

Summary

Overall rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 4.5/5
Spicy rating: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ 4/5

This damn book. My poor little heart.
Is there anything that feels quite as all consuming as first love?

This was such a gorgeous small town romance that really encompasses that thought along with all the heartache that comes with it. Blair and Denver were so relatable as characters, raw, honest and realistically flawed which just made you love them so much more. We all make hard and stupid decisions as teenagers and sometimes break our own hearts in the process and living with the consequences.

Blair is the reliable people pleaser, can’t say no taking too much on. Always putting everyone else first even to her own detriment but fiercely independent and won’t let anyone take care of her. In comes Denny our down bad broncho riding, reformed playboy determined to get Blair to let him just love her.

Something I’m loving about Wells Ranch is the very authentic working ranch environment it’s definitely something that the author is committed to. And not only is this a love story but it also tackles complex emotions of ambiguous loss, depression and grief. There are very tender but also heartbreaking moments throughout that just made this book so increase to read.

I loved this book and I cannot wait for more from Wells Ranch.

It was so good to be back in Wells Ranch for this EAGERLY anticipated instalment! I loved the first two books in this series and this one was no exception! BLAIR AND DENNY FOR EVERRRRRR!

Denver Wells - a man who went all in to win back the love of his life. He was just perfection, honestly. He's quite literally knocked off his saddle when he sees Blair back in town after 14 years away. I quite liked Blair too; I found her super relatable in terms of her chaotic mind (because hi, hello) and doing her best to be independent and not wanting help.

These two were quite the match, and it was just so special seeing their love rekindle after being apart for so many years. Their banter was super sarcastic and fun, I loved seeing them reminisce about the old days and the little things they remembered about each other were so sweet. The spice was great too; their chemistry was incredible. I don't like Neapolitan ice cream but if it came with Denver Wells, maybe I could get on board.

This book is told on a dual time line following Blair and Denny from when they are 13 years old. Bailey did a great job at weaving their past in with the present with flashbacks of their blossoming friendship and relationship. Sometimes I did find this a bit choppy, but not enough to take me out of the story.

This book does deal with some very heavy and emotional topics which I did think were handled well. The timing of some of the discussions could have been better placed but I really did feel for these two when they were 18. Without spoiling anything, I do see both sides of this situation and I appreciated the conversation they had in the present.

I'm so happy these two found their way back to each other; their happily ever after was so well deserved.

I am grateful to Bailey Hannah, Netgalley and Orion for the copy of this book to read and review early, THANK YOU! 😍😍

I loved this book so much!! Bailey Hannah is the queen of writing cowboy romances that are angsty yet funny with characters who are so relatable and easy to love. This book was childhood friends to lovers, second chance romance at its finest. Denny was such a sweetheart and his commitment to earning back Blair’s trust was so sweet. He would do literally anything for her and i loved that even though Blair was so independent and strong she was willing to let him in to help her.

I actually didn’t know this was third in the series before I started reading it so now I’m 100% going to go back and read the first too! I absolutely love a second chance romance and Blair and Denver were and are perfect. Absolutely loved the flashback scenes to when they were kids before it all went wrong. Love a dual pov even more!

It’s easy to fall into this small town cowboy romance and watch as Denver tries to win back a reluctant Blair. I liked the romance side of it and seeing the way these two reconnected, as well as learning more about their history. The friendships and sibling relationships also brought an extra depth to the story. Alongside that it looks at a few deeper topics like caring responsibilities, and more that I won’t spoil. All in all a good read with some great tropes.

I received a free copy of this book. All views are my own.
