Thank you to the publisher for the ARC of 37 Questions by June Kaye! Overall, this was an okay book! I enjoyed the plot and characters. Unfortunately, the writing felt juvenile and I would have loved for it to have felt deeper in a sense? I often felt myself skimming sections because I could get the gist of what was happening and didn't need the full text to answer my questions. Nora and Aiden were solid, relatable main characters and I enjoyed learning more about them.

I really wanted to enjoy this book as it included all sorts of flavors of the human kind which is something I am very fond of. In this case a man who is more than his testosterone, social anxiety, FM. And yet... I gave up at about 20%, because I was mainly reading a dialogue, it felt stilted or forced. Not for me :(

DNF 24%

I found the premise of this book cute and different than anything I have picked up before, however, I felt the book left a lot of potential unexplored. Overall the book is cute, but that characters felt two dimensional. Additionally, the prose explored little outside the volleying back and forth of answers to questions they are asking each other, while this is the premise of the book, I felt it became the whole book. I chose to DNF when I reached the “question” in the characters quiz in which characters were to regal their life story in under 5 minutes.

I believe this book will find its audience, unfortunately, I am not it.

Books I DNF are reviewed but not rated on social media (as NetGalley requires a rating, I would estimate a 2-star review for this book)

Unfortunately this is a case of this just not being the book for me. I loved the premise but the pacing was just too slow for my taste. I also just couldn’t buy into the chemistry between the two main characters.

This just didn’t grab me and pull me in, I also found Aiden to be a bit of a caricature of what someone who isn’t British thinks we are like, he was far too formal and spoke like he was from the Edwardian era!

This might be for some people but I just couldn’t push through. Thank you to Netgalley and 8th Note Press for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for my honest opinions.

This was a sweet and fun book about getting to know someone without any interruptions.

It was a fun concept but I didn’t enjoy the MMC lying in the very beginning.

What a lovely coincidence that both authors are fellow Brazilians <3 It always adds enjoyment to my overall reading experience when I get to understand the Brazilian references. Shoutout to June Kaye for making Nora sing "Evidências" lol. I picked up the book because of its premise and I enjoyed the back and forth between these characters while they went through this love questionnaire. However, the pop culture references became a little bit overwhelming for my personal taste and the connection between Nora and Aiden was fine.

The premise of this book sounded interesting and while I found the two main characters likeable and sweet there wasn’t enough going on in this story to make me care if they developed a love connection. It was rather boring to listen to them answering questions from a magazine article and then their inner dialogue is a lot of noticing the other person’s physical features. I got about halfway through and so could sense there would be a third act fight about the secret identity of the MMC and I’m sure they would predictably work that out. Yawn. It was just not for me.
