The Nanny Share caught my eye as a person who not only loves thrillers, but also works as a nanny! This is a multi-POV story following primarily Julie, Allison, Carrie, and Kate. Julie is a nanny working for two families to watch both of their little girls, but it's clear from the very beginning that Julie harbors a lot of guilt for the secrets she keeps. Allison is the mother of one of the missing girls, living in a gated community and married to a big-shot lawyer, but she too carries guilt for her past wrong doings. Carrie is the mother of the other missing girl, she too lives in the gated community but her family is struggling financially after her husband lost his job. Kate is the detective assigned to the girls case, with an unfortunate conflict of interest that she simply can't move past. The fact is, if they want these girls home safe, Kate is the best option.

I enjoyed the many many twists and turns this book threw at me. There was a lot going on with each of the characters narrating the story, it was never quite clear which direction it would go in, who was innocent and who was guilty of something. The dialogue in this book was very well written and realistic, which I was eating up. The one thing that I would recommend for this one is the editing, I think with better editing this could go from a good read to a great one. There were a few points where I felt like I was waiting for them to get to the point, when I read a thriller I'm looking for a real page turner that keeps my attention so locked on the story that I can't put it down. This plot had every element of suspense needed to do just that, but there were too many moments that removed me from the story as a reader which were hard to ignore.

One thing I really loved was that I've never read a story like this before, and writing a unique plot in a world of so many many books is incredibly rare these days. Emily Shiner did a fantastic job of painting the narrators emotions, no matter whose POV I was reading. I could feel the level of anxiety each woman felt as the clock ticked down on the girls being missing. The sense of foreboding that hung over each of them, wondering if any of their individual mistakes contributed to the nightmare they were living. Overall, I would recommend this to thriller readers looking for a unique story with an unexpected twist!

Two four year old girls living just down the road from each other go missing on the same night. Their parents had until recently been very good friends and some of them had been work colleagues. They are all hiding secrets which may or may not have impacted on why the girls have disappeared.
A really well written and plotted book with three dimensional characters and a believable story. I particularly liked the different narrators for each chapter, written in the first person so we were privy to that particular character’s thoughts and actions but they were unaware of what had happened to others or what other characters’ motives and, more importantly, secrets were. A very difficult book to put down. I kept thinking ‘just one more chapter’ very late into the evening to the point that I did finish this book in one day. Emily Shiner is one to watch out for.

I am so incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have received an advanced copy of The Nanny Share from the author and NetGalley! 🫶

“If a kid was taken in Blackwood, that means only one thing. It was an inside job.”

The Nanny Share is such a wild story and it had me absolutely hooked! 😱 I devoured this story within 48 hours and it brought me on such a wild rollercoaster ride! 🙀😤😢 Two four year old girls are kidnapped and there is a whole mystery of what happened to them and trying to bring them back home. This story has multiple POVs and all of the characters are so morally grey that you have no idea who to trust and it made it so much fun! 🖤🐍 There were so many twists and turns that I wasn’t expecting and it was so hard to pick one favorite character because all of them go through their own struggles and difficulties as this story progresses. If you love psychological thrillers, multiple POVs, police investigations, morally grey characters, and mystery be sure to pick it up and read! 🫶

ow that was a ride! I’m not sure I’ve ever read a thriller where so much happens in just one day. There were many reveals throughout, and I did find myself confused at times. I think that might have been because there were quite a few characters to get used to, so I ended up writing down each one and how they related to one another to keep track. This was especially helpful in the early chapters.

I didn’t like any of the characters; there wasn’t a single one with any redeemable qualities. The detective behaved unlike any detective I’ve ever read about before—asking questions in such an unofficial capacity that I can’t believe anyone could be successfully sentenced in a court of law!

The most unbelievable part, though, was how the parents acted while their young daughters were missing. They were all so selfish. At times, it even seemed like they had completely forgotten that their children were gone. Because of this, I had to suspend my disbelief in order to enjoy the story.

The author included a lot of dialogue, and by the end, I felt like I really got to know the characters. I just wish as much attention had been paid to the settings of the book.

That said, if you’re looking for a popcorn thriller with lots of twists, turns, and intrigue among a large cast of characters, you could do worse than this novel. If you’re an audiobook listener, definitely give this one a try.

Thanks to @netgalley, @bookouture, and @emilyshiner for the ARC of this novel.

Two four-year-old girls, Emily and Nealie, are missing, taken from their homes in the the middle of the night. They live in the same gated community. their parents used to be friends. Detective Kate Martin is on the case, determined to get the girls back to their parents as soon as possible.

For people that were supposed to be friends, there were lots of secrets and lies being kept from each other. There were times when the adults were all about saving themselves rather than their children. I was quickly pulled into this story. It kept my interest until the end. The characters were well-developed, the story is told from multiple points of view. and the pace is steady.

"The Nanny Share" by Emily Shiner is a truly addictive story with dark secrets, unpredictable twists and turns (none of my theories/guess hit the spot!)

I got both the audiobook and e-book from NetGalley so, thank you for both ARCs!

3.5 stars … this is fast-paced mystery that kept me invested from start to finish. The story begins with two neighbor girls who share a nanny, only to seemingly disappear into the night. The plot quickly draws you in with a growing list of suspects, all with their own hidden motives. From the parents to the police, no one seems trustworthy, and everyone has something to hide.

The suspense builds as we race toward the conclusion, which is completely unexpected. Shiner does an excellent job of keeping the reader guessing, and just when you think you have it figured out, another twist comes along. The multiple characters with their own agendas create an unpredictable atmosphere, making it difficult to put the book down. While the story is thrilling and full of surprises, I found some parts a little hard to believe. Nonetheless, the twists and the tension made for a gripping read. If you enjoy suspenseful mysteries where no one can be trusted.

I must say that I really enjoyed this book and this author is one of my favourite. The book centres around two families that share the same nanny and when both of the children go missing suddenly everyone is a suspect. I found it to be fast paced throughout with many unexpected twists to it.

A few times in this book i thought " would the adults.actually be bothered about the children if they weren't threatened with their secrets being unearthed! They were all so suspect and many just totally unlikable at times.
2 girls go missing and the link is of course then nanny. But she needs to keep under the radar. And she also knows the other people in that upper class gated communities secrets. Or enough to do damage. So who is in more danger.
The twists were twisty in this one. But somehow they leant well to the audacity of the people!
It was pace after pace and often I was wanting to tear ahead so I could find out more.
A great fun(if I cam say that regarding the subject matter) read. It was a blast of a thriller.

A fast paced book with many twists and turns that leaves you guessing until the last few chapters. I really enjoyed the suspense but I did feel the story got a little lost in the middle but it picked itself back up for a fantastic ending.

As always with Emily Shiner's books I was invested right away and it kept me hooked with its intensity, suspense and twist until the very end.

Two 4 year old go missing from the same upscale neighborhood and the main connection is the nanny. Every character was unlikable making it hard to choose who to root for (except the 2 kids). While a little outlandish, the twists were very entertaining

This story had me perplexed from the beginning when two neighbor girls who share a nanny seemingly disappear into the night. There are so many different suspects all with their own agendas that this is a fast=paced mystery. Everyone involved right down to the cops investigating the disappearance seem to be suspicious as well as all of the parents. I couldn't put this book down as we raced to the stunning conclusion which I do not think anyone will see coming. Safe to say do not trust anyone.

Two sweet innocent four year old girls have gone missing. They share the same nanny and she is my prime suspect! The story is told from multiple points of view which I found a little bit confusing but I seem to have got my head around it as I became invested in the plot. The characters were charming on the surface but held dark secrets behind the scenes. The twists were crazy surprising. As was the ending which is left open to interpretation or maybe a sequel. I would love that! As with most Emily Shiner books with this one you should expect the unexpected!

This book was the twistiest ride of the year so far. I was hesitant to read a kidnapping book of young girls because young kids getting hurt is rough for me to read but the focus was really on the adults. It was very mild for a kidnapping story which I liked. The adults on the other hand, they were disasters! I absolutely loved the chaos of everyone’s lives intertwining and all the twists and reveals. I could not put this book down. I was getting so frustrated because I just had to know more. The adults drove me crazy with so little focus on the girls and more focus on saving their own asses but that’s what gave the book so much entertainment. I can’t wait to read more by this author.

First, I want to thank Emily Shiner, Bookouture, and NetGalley for this book so I can bring you this review.

WOWZERS!! Emily Shiner has done it again and brought her readers an unbelievable read that everyone will be talking about! The Nanny Share is every parent's worst nightmare and oh so much more! Picture Law and Order with two missing children from two different families mixed with prime time soapy drama vibes playing in your head and you have The Nanny Share. Yes, this is unlike any missing case you have read before. You must go out and grab this book and put it on your TBR List.

The Nanny Share is fast paced, totally addicting, full of deep dark hidden secrets, full of wicked twists and turns, and revelations that will make you rethink everything you thought you knew about these characters. Emily takes you wild on this one! It is one of her best!

If you were looking for an emotional read with The Nanny Share you may be out of luck with this one. While it pulled on my heartstrings and felt for both families of both of the girls I didn’t shed tears with this one. However, what I did feel was empathy for both families whose daughters who were both friends were both missing.

Not going to lie there was one character in this book I didn’t care for in this book. The more I got to know them the more I started yelling at my Kindle in profanities.

Emily would like to dedicate this book to her Mom for all of her support throughout the years.

I enjoyed this suburban neighborhood of parents behaving badly. Everyone here has secrets. There are some good twists and in the end everything is revealed so the reader can make sense of this one terrible day in a “good” neighborhood. I thought the narration by Ashley Rose Kaplan was excellent. She had a fairly sizable cast to voice and it was easy for me to keep track of who was speaking.

'He's not the perfect shiny, wonderful man everyone thinks he is. I swear to you, he has everyone duped. He's fooled everyone, and that includes my wife'

‘if a kid was taken in Blackwood, that only means one thing. It was an inside job’

When two four-year-old girls are cared for by the same nanny, an arrangement that came about when their mothers were best friends living just doors apart, everything seems perfect. But a few months later, the girls go missing, and suddenly, no one is above suspicion. Who is responsible? The list of suspects is long, and everyone has their secrets.

I decided to pair the book with the audiobook, and I couldn’t be happier with that choice! It was the perfect match for this psychological thriller, which I found absolutely unputdownable. From start to finish, I was glued to my seat, desperately wanting to know what happened next.

This story is fast-paced, utterly captivating, and filled with dark, hidden secrets. Every twist and turn left me stunned, and it felt like I was on an emotional rollercoaster. The more I read, the more I realized how well everyone was hiding something—making it impossible to guess who was behind the girls' disappearance. The suspense built beautifully, with each page revealing just a little bit more, and I loved how the tension never let up.

The audiobook brought this story to life in such a vivid way, and I really appreciated the multiple points of view. It’s always my favorite part of a story like this, and it gave such depth to the narrative. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, Emily Shiner threw in another unexpected twist that completely threw me off track! I was way off, and once again, I was left piecing the mystery back together. Her writing is incredible, and I’m now eager to explore more of her work!

This book is an absolute must-read (or must-listen)! It's coming out soon, so be sure to add it to your TBR—you won’t want to miss it!
