The Nanny Share by Emily Shiner is a fast-paced, gripping psychological thriller that will keep readers on the edge of their seats. The story follows a nanny who, after caring for two little girls, finds herself in a nightmarish situation when the children go missing. Living in the exclusive Blackwood neighborhood, the nanny knows more than she lets on—she’s aware of the unraveling marriages, hidden secrets, and the tension building between the two families. But when the girls are snatched from their beds, suspicion quickly falls on her.
The narrative is compelling as the protagonist struggles to maintain her innocence while hiding darker secrets of her own. The unraveling mystery keeps you guessing, with layers of intrigue surrounding the broken families and the nanny's past. As the police close in, the pressure mounts, and the question becomes: Who can we trust?
Shiner skillfully weaves tension, suspense, and unreliable narration, making the reader question every character’s motives. The story also explores themes of desperation, obsession, and how far someone will go to protect themselves, all set against a backdrop of wealth, secrets, and a neighborhood that hides more than it seems.
With twists and turns at every corner, The Nanny Share is a psychological thriller that will have you second-guessing everyone involved. Perfect for fans of dark domestic thrillers, this book is both chilling and thought-provoking, leaving you questioning who the real victim is in a web of lies and manipulation.

I really enjoyed this book. It takes place mostly over the course of a day and I found that to be quite interesting. Two little girls go missing from a wealthy community where things like this do not happen. It's a well protected area. The girls have quite a bit in common, including a nanny.
This book is absolutely filled with one secret after another as the police try to figure out where the girls are and what's going on. A thing or two is very obvious in the book but most of the time when you think you know what is going on. you don't!
There really isn't much at all I didn't like about the book. Some people make the silliest choices but then again, under the circumstances, who wouldn't?
Great writing and a fun medium to fast paced story.

I enjoyed this fresh take on a story about a nanny taking care of kids. I did not expect the twists and turns, it felt like I was watching another episode of Desperate Housewives, in the way the neighborhood comes together, as do their secrets and lies.

A new author to me. Really enjoyed the book. Good level of suspense. Great read. Would recommend to dans of Frieda McFadden.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and the publishers for this eARC!!
As a career nanny, I am instantly drawn to nanny books. Whether it be thriller or romance!!
This thriller was so twisty and full of suspense! It had me on the edge of me seat and I truly could not put it down!! I absolutely did not see the ending coming!!! 10000% will be telling everyone to read this!!

Is anyone telling the truth?
In this twisty thriller, Emily exposes the deep secrets of everyone in an upper class neighborhood when two girls go missing. What is the link between the girls? Who had motive to take them?
The answer? Everyone. And it’s not just the parents and family who have secrets... it goes far beyond that. You won’t figure out who did it until the very end!

The Nanny Share is about two 4 year-olds who go missing on the same morning. The lives of multiple people including both the girls nanny Julie, begin to intertwine. This book was good or rather okay. I felt that the characters were a bunch of rich people and the only one who I ever thought really cared about the children was Nealy's mom Allison. I just felt she was quite simple and conceited too. The questions the book answers was the great part but, I feel that it slowed way down before punching me in the face the last 4 or 5 chapters. The development of the book was okay and I feel like that the focus became too much on the other people then finding the girls. Because if my 4 year old was kidnapped I wouldn't be trying so hard to be mad over something else.

Full of tension and suspense this book had me on the edge of my seat, I couldn't put it down and read it in a couple of hours. A fantastic read

Oh my gosh! Emily Shiner just stays at the top of my ‘go-to author’ list! I tried to wait and read this closer to pub date but just couldn’t help myself. Deliciously dark and tense. It was impossible to know who to trust. I guessed wrong so many times. Don’t let this gem pass you by.
Thank you NetGalley, Emily Shriner and Bookouture for the opportunity to read and review this book.

OMG!!! This. Book. THIS BOOK!!!! The Nanny Share by Emily Shiner will be taking up space in my head for a long time. It was the very definition of unputdownable!! I started at dawn and finished before the sun went down.
Welcome to the posh, gated community of Blackwood, the safest neighborhood in town. The lushness and rich ambiance does nothing to keep the evil locked behind these gates. Neighbors, the Everetts and Browns are best friends until they're not. When both of their four year old daughters go missing, the race is on to find out what happened to the girls. The common link between them is their shared Nanny, Julie. Can she help to find them or is she the reason they went missing?
This book was a masterpiece. Kudos to Emily for making characters with such depth and realness you actually feel hatred towards them. The lies, deceit, secrets, and backstabbing start on page one and don't stop until the end. I don't think any of them would know what the truth was if it bit them in the butt. The story takes place in one day and is told through multiple perspectives. The chapters are short and easy to fly through. The writing is smooth and flows rapidly and there is no lack of drama in the entire book. A MUST read for psychological suspense lovers!

I was selected as an ARC reader for The Nanny Share. If you are a fan of Freida McFadden’s you will find yourself captivated by the twists and turns of this book. I would say some of this outcome was predictable, from the beginning I had an idea who the problem stemmed from. Just when you thought there wasn’t anymore to figure out or any lies that haven’t surfaced yet, boom…another one appears. The ending really put a spin on things though even though I had some of it figured out and I think that is what made this book a win for me. 4.5/5 stars for sure. Thank you Emily Shiner, for allowing me the opportunity to read and review this book prior to release!

The Nanny Share is a gripping psychological thriller by one of my favourite authors. I was hooked from the start, and couldn't wait to see the final twist. The book had me gripped, and I found myself questioning things at every chapter. I could not believe the ending, and definitely did not see it coming. I really enjoyed this story, although some of the characters are very annoying and deserve what they get! The ending is shocking and makes you rethink everything. Definitely a great book. I am a huge Emily fan and will always read her books.

Everyone on this book is a liar! There was so much lying going on you has to question your own sanity for a minute! This is the first book I've read from this author and it sure won't be my last. Two girls are kidnapped and the coincidence is they share a nanny. If your up to being constantly lied to to figure out who took these children and why...read this book. Your gonna be gobsmacked in the face several times!

💥Character Spotlight💥
I can’t choose a favorite character without spoiling too much so I’ll give you my Top 3: Julia, Carrie and Kate
Everyone had a secret and I think that’s what made this book such a success - I literally couldn’t rule out a single character’s involvement while reading.

WOW!! What a ride! This book grabs your attention from page one! If you love super unexpected twists then you MUST READ The Nanny Share! This book quite literally had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. It's so nice to read a book that keeps you hooked til the very end!

Oooo I loved this one!!
So gripping, I could NOT put this book down. Possibly my favourite read of 2025.
The twist was incredible, literally would never have guessed it. Absolutely brilliant. Cannot wait to read more from this author.

This is my second book by this author, and while I didn’t like this story as much as “Meet the Parents”, I still think it was a good thriller. This book is the story of one day in Blackwood, an exclusive gated community outside of Los Angeles - and what a day it was!
That morning, Carrie and her husband Daniel wake to find their daughter Emma gone. On the same street, Alison and her husband Ryan arise to find their daughter Nealie gone. The two four-year-olds are missing, and both sets of parents call their nanny, Julie. The families used to be close, but recent events have kept them apart, including the kids. Julie is the one who still sees both of the girls, but she doesn’t know where they are either.
Once the police get involved, the story picks up with chapters from the points of view of the parents, Julie and her boyfriend Theo, Kate, the main detective on the case, and a mystery person who is getting texts from the presumed kidnapper. Why are they ignoring the texts and not telling the police about the ransom demands? What happened to break these friendships up? Where are the girls, and why were they taken from their beds in the middle of the night (conveniently when the neighborhood’s CCTV went down)?
You will get answers to all of these questions, with a lot of surprises along the way. Every character has a secret they are hiding from one or more people, and as the secrets come out, everyone grows more frantic. The mothers are losing their minds, the fathers are both letting their anger take over, and Julie is scared something bad will happen to the girls she has watched for so long. She’s also scared that her secrets will come out too…
This had some good twists throughout, and it was quite entertaining. I wouldn’t have minded a bit more darkness and suspense; the book was relatively light for the subject matter and I didn’t care much for any of the characters, but that’s my only minor complaint. This one is a very quick read, and a very interesting story as well. Four stars!
(Thank you to Bookouture for inviting me on this book’s tour. “The Nanny Share” is slated to be released on February 21, 2025.)

I devored this book!
So brilliant, twisting and moving, I was hooked from the start.
A must in your 2025 TBR
