Thank you to NetGalley and to Canary Street Press for this e-arc in exchange for my honest review.

This book was a beautiful and heartfelt story about childhood friends reconnecting and growing together. I really loved how Milly and Nicole were always together throughout childhood until suddenly Nicole dropped all contact and left Milly to pick up the pieces. Then suddenly it's two years later and Nicole is back and in need of help which Milly is eager to offer - without really any questions asked.

I really loved how they reconnected and did take the space to reconnect with the past - the fact that they were able to come to terms with what happened 2 years prior and they were really able to move forward beautifully. I really loved the fact that it goes to show that friendships can be mended - if they are worked on.

This was a good friendship book showing how if you have that support it can change your life.
Milly and her daughter live in an English countryside resort that her parents own and she helps run. One day she gets a call from her long lost best friend who is now a well known actor and needs her help. Come to find out the Tabloids are after her and she needs help. Milly allows her to hide out with her. They reconnect, hash out what happened to cause their estrangement and come to a new understanding. It was sweet to hear their story and the reconnections. It was funny to see some of the lengths they went to, to keep her hidden and safe. All in all a fun book that at times might pull at your heart strings.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the arc.

Milly and Nicole were more like sisters than friends from childhood when Nicole ghosted Milly for eighteen months. During that time, Milky’s husband left her and she needed her friend. When Nicole calls Milky to ask for her help, Milly is there for her as their truths are revealed. Milky’s mother and grandmother are also in the picture. I enjoyed the book, set in the beautiful Lake District. Recommended. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

Other People’s Summers is a beautifully layered story of broken trust, second chances, and the power of lifelong friendship. Set in the idyllic Lake District, it’s a perfect summer read full of heart, healing, and hope. Sarah Morgan nails the emotional depth of what it means to be truly seen—and forgiven—by someone who knows you best.

Milly Beckett and Nicole Raven grew up as close as sisters. Nichole is a superstar and Milly is divorcee raising her daughter and running a rental business. When Milly was going through her divorce Nicole stopped communicating and was not there for her. Feeling betrayed, Milly is reluctant when Nicole faces a scandal and contacts her and needs a place to stay. Milly takes her in but their relationship is strained. They both wonder if they can ever get back that feeling of sisters!

Sarah Morgan's Other People's Summers delves into the complex dynamics of a fractured friendship, set against the beautiful backdrop of the Lake District. Milly Beckett and Nicole Raven were once inseparable, like sisters. Years later, their lives have diverged dramatically: Nicole is a global superstar, while Milly is navigating a painful divorce and single motherhood. When scandal hits, a desperate Nicole turns to Milly, the only person she trusts.

Milly is understandably hesitant. Nicole wasn't there for her during her own time of need, making forgiveness a challenge. Yet, seeing Nicole's desperation, Milly reluctantly agrees to offer her sanctuary. As they reconnect in the stunning Lake District, awkward small talk slowly gives way to profound revelations, allowing the two women to tentatively rebuild their bond.

Living with Milly offers Nicole a glimpse of a different, simpler life, while Milly begins to envision a future beyond her divorce, even contemplating new romance. However, Nicole can't remain hidden forever, and more critically, she's harboring a secret from Milly that threatens to shatter their fragile reconciliation and Nicole's own future happiness. Other People's Summers is a poignant exploration of forgiveness, second chances, and the enduring power of friendship, even when hidden truths threaten to tear it apart.

3.5, rounding up!

I am a sucker for a BFF story. This story centers around childhood friends with different ambitions in life, who end up both at a point of struggle and needing each other. It is a story of hurt feelings, and the years that have passed possibly being too much to overcome.

I love when a friendship can stand the test of time, regardless of how many years they have been apart. The main characters look out for each other throughout, even at times the other cant see it. It is a story about having that one person that you can trust, who knows you better than you may even know yourself.

The small town summer backdrop adds even more warmth to the story, so I found it a perfect summer type read.

Thank you to the hive partnership program for allowing me an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I actually snagged both the e galley and the audio version of Other People's Summers. I did start off by reading the book, but then switched over to the audio for the majority of the read. That being said, I didn't love the narrators voice, and I think i would have enjoyed the story more had I just read the e galley version.
I very much enjoyed The book Club Hotel by Sarah Morgan and was excited when I saw she had a new summer book launching. The premise looked interesting and it seemed like a cute easy beach read. Sarah write great womens fiction and I enjoyed how Milly and Nicoles friendship was presented, and felt sarah morgan did a great job of showing how womens friendships can change and grow over time. I enjoyed how each of the women found new love at the end. 3.5 stars from me. I feel like i would have enjoyed this one more if I had read the entire book and not listened to the audiobook.

Another great book by Sarah Morgan with her trade mark wit and multi-dimensional characters- this book is a winner.

I was glad to get an early copy of this Sarah Morgan book, and it did not disappoint! It was mostly lighthearted but also had some more serious topics. It was the perfect buffer book to read between two books that I read dealing with heavy content. The story was about family, friendships, and self-discovery. It was also a story of love and forgiveness. I liked the characters, especially Nanna Peg. I liked the contrast between the main characters, Milly and Nicole, and how even though their lives are completely opposite, they each have their own struggles and must come to understand one another and the misconceptions they have about the happiness the other one must have. This will be a great summer vacation read, and I will be recommending it to my book club and friends.

I love Sarah Morgan and I’m so thankful I was chosen to read her newest book, Other People’s Summers. However, this book was sadly not for me. That’s the first time I’ve ever said that about this authors books! But really, I couldn’t connect to any of the characters or the story. It’s good writing, this just wasn’t my favorite.

I received an advanced copy from NetGalley in exchange for a review and opinions are my own.

I absolutely love anything Sarah Morgan writes. Other People's Summers is no exception. Morgan did a wonderful job bringing her characters to life in a storyline that will capture the readers attention. It is a heartwarming story focusing on love and friendship.
The two main characters of the book are Milly and Nicole who have been best friends since they were in school. Now as adults, both girls try to navigate their friendship after going through a rough patch. They work towards reaching a place of forgiveness and getting back on track. We see that even though people and relationships have their ups and downs, your trust in them never wavers. Highly recommend this book, especially if you are a fan of Sarah Morgan.

Milly and Nicole have been best friends since childhood staying close even when their lives took very different paths. Nicole fulfilled her dream of becoming a famous actor and Milly took over her family’s resort in the Lake District, marrying and having a child. However, when Milly’s husband left her for another woman, Nicole ghosted her, breaking her heart even more.

Now, Nicole is in desperate need of sanctuary, a place to hide out when scandal hits, and she calls Milly. Milly isn’t keen on helping, but she can’t say no.

I was pulled into the story from the first page! Milly was trying to do her best raising her teenage daughter while managing the hurt and betrayal she felt not only by her ex-husband (a real jerk!), but by the abandonment of her best friend. I wouldn’t have been too happy with Nicole either if I were Milly, but I was eager to hear what was behind her behavior.

Nicole was dealing with a lot. She was grateful for the second chance with Milly and her family, the only place she ever felt loved growing up.

Other People’s Summers was such a lovely, compelling story; completely captivating! Sarah Morgan writes flawed, relatable characters that I end up rooting for every time! Her settings are always gorgeous, making me want to visit every place she writes about. There was even a bit of romance for both Milly and Nicole. A definite recommend!

I alternately listened to and read an audio and e-copy. I’ve listened to and enjoyed Henrietta Meire in the past and she performed all voices, male and female beautifully with appropriate emotions. I can recommend either version.
