Milly Beckett and Nicole Raven were as close as sisters. while growing up. Recently things have happened to cause a serious rift, but when Nicole needs Milly, Milly tells her to come. Nicole is a superstar actress who got caught up in a scandal and is painted as the bad guy. She needs a place to hide, and someone that might understand. Milly is recently divorced and raising her teenage daughter with the help of her mother and grandmother. Milly wanted to refuse her friend as she wasn't there when she needed someone when her husband left, but she can't do that to her friend. Gradually, they find their friendship again, and both of them begin to see that there is a life after divorce and scandal. When a secret comes out, it causes the rift to split open once again, but with such a deep friendship and history, will they remain estranged, or once again forgive and be friends again?

I am a huge fan of Sarah Morgan and enjoy her books full of wonderful characters, heartfelt problems, reconciliation and more. Milly is a great character and I loved her whole family. She lives in the boathouse at the holiday homes area that her family owns. She manages the business with her mother. Her grandmother, Nana Peg, is a fun one. She is spunky and is staying with her daughter while they are fixing up her house. She says what she thinks and freely gives advice. Milly's mother is also dealing with things from her past, as her husband left her and Milly when Milly was very young. Milly has a bit of a chip on her shoulder, but is working on finding what she wants in life. Milly's daughter is also dealing with a situation at school and is afraid to tell her mother as she is already dealing with so much. Four generations of females, all with issues of their own, use the summer to find what they need to move forward. This is a story of family, friendship, forgiveness, personal growth, finding what you want for your life and some romance.

Totally different than my typical book I pick up, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. A book about friendships and how they truly can stand the test of time, drama, and life. The characters were interesting and their backgrounds kept you engaged throughout the story. I will say the one negative was the constant reference to their friendship and whether or not it would last… we got that, no need to repeat! But otherwise, it was a lovely story that kept my attention. Thanks for the opportunity to review!

USA Today Best Selling Author Sarah Morgan is a comfort read for me. “Other People’s Summer” was just that.

It’s a novel about two best friends, their very different lives and how they navigate through some of life’s challenging times and are put to the test to figure out what’s most important. Nicole, a famous movie star and Milly a now single mother are holding grudges, shame, secrets and fear. “Other People’s Summer” tests forgiveness and the power of a lifelong friendship. A page turner filled with family, new love and bravery. You will come to love the Lakeside Resort and wish just a little that you could be there too.

I highly recommend this entertaining read. A contemporary romance with second chances and the impact our decisions can make. It’s hopeful, charming and resilient.

This book was just ok for me. I’ve read several of Sarah Morgan’s other books and really enjoyed them, but this one just didn’t keep my attention as well as those did. It has some interesting plot points but for some reason it just didn’t keep me engaged as much as I would have liked.

Another light and breezy read…great for your summer pack! Explores friendship, personal identity and family topics. Enjoyed how she incorporated the Hollywood celebrity character as well as a well-known author…added flavor to the story.

Thank you Sarah Morgan, Harlequin Trade Publishing and NetGalley for this ARC opportunity!

I really loved this book! The story of two friends reconnecting after their lives have gone different directions was very sweet and relevant. I was pleasantly surprised by the POVs from the whole family and not just Milly and Nicole. Loved the insight into generational patterns and learnings.
This story had a sprinkle of romance which was just enough to progress each FMCs character. I was a bit peeved by the feeling Nicole changed her life for a man she just met, but upon reflection she had done a lot of the work herself and her romantic connection just helped push her in the right direction.

Milly and Nicole were closer than sisters, until each suffered an upheaval in their lives. It's been eighteen months since they've spoken. So Milly is surprised when she gets a message from Nicole. She needs a place to lay low for a time and she's asking for Millys help. Though she isn't sure why, she agrees.

This is a second chance story. A second chance not at romance, but a friendship. Both women are disillusioned. Mily is still hurt and angry that Nicole wasn't there for her when she needed a shoulder to lean on. When Nicole's life became a gossip column disaster, she thought she was protecting Milly by staying away.

While I was able to connect and empathize with Nicole from the start, Milly was much harder to connect with. I understand she's angry, but I also felt like she was trying hard to hold on to that anger. The walls she kept up made her a kind of unlikable character. It wasn't until she could no longer hold her feelings behind the walls she had built that I was able to empathize with her The secondary characters added life to the story. Milly's daughter who is very interested in drama and who forms a friendship with Nicole, something that, at first, makes Milly angrier. Then there is author Brendan and the handyman, Joey who provide a sounding board for each of the women, giving each of them someone outside the situation to bounce their feelings off of.

This is a story of friendship, of self reflection and growth and learning that we can come through the difficulties in life and find happiness on the other side.

The best summer books are involve a beautiful setting and nostalgia for the past. Other People's Summers hits all the right notes. Milly and Nicole were childhood best friends. Then, life took them in different directions and they gradually drifted apart. Now, Nicole's life is a mess and her port in the storm is the small lakeside resort she grew up in - and her childhood bestie.

Nicole and Milly were the best of friends, until they weren't. Nicole left England to pursue the glamourous life of a Hollywood actress, and she was a shining success. But when Milly's life fell apart, with her husband leaving her for a much younger yoga instructor, and she reached out to Nicole for support, she got radio silence from her best friend. And that radio silence lasted for eighteen months until Nicole reached out, asking Milly for help. And Milly answered the call, bringing Nicole to her idyllic woodland resort, allowing her to hide out, avoid paparazzi, and possibly heal their friendship.

This was a sweet book about the ups and downs of long-term friendships. I liked the dual point-of-view, with both Milly and Nicole. And I liked Milly's character, especially her grandmother, who made me laugh a few times. But I wasn't really sold on Nicole's story. I felt it was repetitive, with the constant worry about being followed/photographed/recognized. I thought Nicole's issues were surface level and recurred too many times without any real depth. I also thought the subplots related to the romantic interests of Milly, Nicole, and even Milly's mom, could have been great but were only marginally touched upon and I wanted more about those relationships. In the end, it was a sweet, easy story about friends that was a nice escape from reality.

I always love a good seasonal Sarah Morgan novel, and Other People's Summers is no exception. I really enjoyed the family dynamics between Millie and her relatives, and the interrelationship between her and Nicole. I love that Morgan focuses beyond just the romance, and really creates a world that you want to know more about, in a casual and enjoyable manner.

Other People's Summers by Sarah Morgan was such a sweet and warm read. It follows a famous actress who's going through a rough patch and decides to step away from the spotlight, retreating to her small hometown and the comfort of her best friend's home. From the very beginning, I was drawn in and found her emotional healing to be realistic. The storyline kept me hooked, and I especially loved how it highlighted the importance of family, true friendship, and finding peace in the simplest moments. This was definitely a feel-good book that leaves you with a smile. If you're in the mood for something cozy and full of heart, this one's worth the read.

I only recently discovered Sarah Morgan books two years ago and I’m so glad I did. I’ve loved them all and this one is no different.
Other People’s Summers is a complex story about friendship and it contains family and relationship drama, broken trust and romance. I enjoyed the characters that were so well developed too. This will be a perfect summer read. Thank you Netgalley and HarperCollins for this e-arc in exchange for my

This book was a beautiful and heartfelt story about childhood friends reconnecting and growing together. I really loved how Milly and Nicole were always together throughout childhood until suddenly Nicole dropped all contact and left Milly to pick up the pieces. Then suddenly it's two years later and Nicole is back and in need of help which Milly is eager to offer - without really any questions asked.

I really loved how they reconnected and did take the space to reconnect with the past - the fact that they were able to come to terms with what happened 2 years prior and they were really able to move forward beautifully. I really loved the fact that it goes to show that friendships can be mended - if they are worked on.

This was a good friendship book showing how if you have that support it can change your life.
Milly and her daughter live in an English countryside resort that her parents own and she helps run. One day she gets a call from her long lost best friend who is now a well known actor and needs her help. Come to find out the Tabloids are after her and she needs help. Milly allows her to hide out with her. They reconnect, hash out what happened to cause their estrangement and come to a new understanding. It was sweet to hear their story and the reconnections. It was funny to see some of the lengths they went to, to keep her hidden and safe. All in all a fun book that at times might pull at your heart strings.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the arc.

Milly and Nicole were more like sisters than friends from childhood when Nicole ghosted Milly for eighteen months. During that time, Milky’s husband left her and she needed her friend. When Nicole calls Milky to ask for her help, Milly is there for her as their truths are revealed. Milky’s mother and grandmother are also in the picture. I enjoyed the book, set in the beautiful Lake District. Recommended. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.
