Love starting summer reading season with a new Sarah Morgan book! This was a sweet and comforting book about friendship, family, and forgiveness, and self-discovery. I loved the setting, the characters, and how everyone's stories came together. It was a little more character-driven than some of her other novels, but it was so fun and heartwarming. Thanks to NetGalley and Canary Street Press for the advance digital copy!

Thank you NetGalley & the publishers for sending me an ARC of this amazing book.
I ate this right up. While I went into this book for the cute cozy cover, it did not disappoint. It was cute, it was cozy, and it was exactly what I needed in a pallet cleanser before another heavy big book. I found myself eating up all this different stories and how they played together so well. I will definitely be checking out more from this author, & can’t wait to get my physical copy of this cute “summertime” read.

I just love Morgan's writing!
Other People’s Summers is a heartwarming, moving, emotional women's fiction story.
A delightful and heartwarming romance that explores themes of friendship, love, and self-discovery.
The novel’s settings and amazing storylines add depth and charm, keeping readers captivated from start to finish.
Sarah’s stories are always a delight. They focus on relations and relatable struggles. So, I always enjoy to where Sarah takes me.

📖 Book Review 📖 When my Mom died, the first meal to arrive was from my best friend from high school. Even though our schedules are chaotic and we barely get the chance to have more than text bursts that end with an attempt to schedule a time to get together, she just knew how to be there in my time of need. There is comfort in having your friend who has been by your side through it all growing up. Friendships certainly have their ebb and flow and getting older certainly creates distance, but when the road gets tough, a true friend is always there. Sarah Morgan delivers a poignantly beautiful novel of friendship across time in Other People’s Summer. When Nicole’s life implodes in the tabloids, she reaches out to her best friend Molly, hoping that she will forgive her past transgressions as a lackluster friend. Other People’s Summer is one beautifully touching comfort read that reminds us that true friendship knows no depth.

I’ve come to rely on Sarah Morgan to pick me up. I liked the idea behind two friends with different presents coming together, reconnecting and forging forward. The addition of the male counterparts was well done and the words flowed to the point where I was half way through before even realizing.

Wonderful story that was hard to put down! I enjoyed how the women rekindled their friendship after such a long time. I am a huge fan of second chance stories!

I loved this story of two lifelong friends and the challenges of friendship and relationships. Sarah Morgan writes such beautiful books and this one is no exception. Millie and Nicole's friendship is special but the other thing I liked about the book was the family relationships in this book as well. It shows that sometimes family isn't always the people whose lives we've been born into. Definitely a good read!

Every summer and holiday season I look forward to reading a new cathartic book from Sarah Morgan. I was a big fan of last year's Summer Swap and her 2023 release The Island Villa. This year's Other People's Summers takes us to the Lake Country in England where we find newly divorced single mom Milly just trying to get through the day, Milly and Nicole used to be best friends, but after Nicole becomes a famous actress and moves to LA things have been different. When Milly's husband walked out on her, Nicole ghosts Milly for no apparent reason. Fast forward 18 months and now Nicole needs help and turns to Milly by showing up on her doorstep.
What I love about Morgan's stories is while they do contain romance, they center the relationships between women. Whether it be mothers and daughter, sisters or friends, Morgan shows us how important the relationship are and how they can transcend other circumstances in life. While Milly allows Nicole to hide out at the resort she runs (passed down from her mother), there is a long way to go before she can trust Nicole again, and a big question about whether she should. Milly is also trying to break some family trauma cycles by handing her divorce better than her mother did her own and protect her daughter as much as she is able. As all of these issues intersect over the summer, Other People's summers is a complex story of healing, moving forward and living in the present.

I enjoyed reading Other People's Summer by Sarah Morgan. You will fall in love with all the characters. I received an ARC of this book courtesy of NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and given freely. Happy Reading!

Nicole and Milly have been friends since childhood, but suddenly, when Milly needed Nicole the most, Nicole ghosted her. Milly suffered through a devastating divorce and her best friend wasn’t there to support her. Meanwhile, Nicole has made a big splash as an actor, but she needs a place to escape and hide away while she recovers from her own problems. The two old friends are not ready to fall into each other’s arms, but Milly does all she can to make sure that Nicole is comfortable. With characters that pop off the page into your heart, this is a fantastic story about friendship, self-discovery and acceptance, and forgiveness. The setting of a small camp in the Lake District is perfect for this moving tale to unfold because as Nicole and Milly bend towards re-establishing friendship, the place they stay calls to them peacefully to make peace with each other and to recall the good times they had there as children. I really liked all of the characters, but Zoe was a favorite, a teen with wisdom and compassion for her mom as she tried to understand the complexities of what a divorce meant to her relationship with her dad. The pace is perfect for this contemporary fiction that explores deep emotional connections, the ones that are lost and new ones that are just beginning.

Other People's Summers by Sarah Morgan is a heartfelt and moving women's fiction novel about two women trying to find their way back to their friendship. Perfect for fans of Kristen Hannah, Jojo Moyes, and Elin Hilderbrand.
When Milly and her husband divorce, Milly takes her daughter and moves to the family owned resort that she manages. Having put her focus in her business and being a single mom to her daughter, Milly is trying to rebuild her life. When former best friend Nicole reaches out to Milly for a favor, Milly is surprised. Nicole and Milly were once inseparable but a falling out put an end to the friendship. Even though Milly has tried to reach out to Nicole, it felt like Nicole ghosted her. Now Nicole is caught up in a major scandal as an actress and needs a place to hide out until the fallout dies down. Millie isn't sure what to do but ultimately decides to let Nicole stay in a rental cabin. Now that the two friends are speaking again, can they use this summer as a time to heal past wounds and regrets?
This was such an emotional but comforting read that is great for lounging at the beach or by a pool! The character development is strong and the setting of the Lake District was vivid and rich. With the primary characters, I felt like they were really well written and their flaws and vulnerabilities made them relatable. Overall I really enjoyed this emotional story and would recommend it for fans of found family tropes and heartwarming and uplifting novels!!
Thank you to NetGalley, Sarah Morgan, and Harlequin Trade Publishing/Canary Street Press for this ARC!! Publication date is May 6th 2025

This book is a story that proves that friendships bonded in teenage years can absolutely last a lifetime, and can overcome disagreements.
Milly and Nicole were close as teens, shared everything. Milly's home was an escape from a cold mother for Nicole, Milly's Mom and Nanna became surrogates for Nicole. Life took Nicole away from the Lake District to the shiny bright lights of Hollywood, and for a while, they stayed close. When Nicole's seemingly perfect world hits a roadblock, she runs to Milly.
I loved that Milly is carrying on her Nanna and Mom's legacy at Forest Nest, and that she has stayed so close to them both physically and emotionally. Milly experiences a kind-of coming of age after Nicole arrives, getting her mind straight about her divorce and growing from it. Zoe is a good kid, and Richard (aptly named?) is a stereotypical cheater turned ex-husband. This is a great vacation read, preferably by a nice lake just like Forest Nest!
Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.

My summer reading list would not be complete without a new novel by Sarah Morgan. This talented storyteller never fails to take me on a heart-tugging journey with complex characters and complicated relationships.
One of the relationship types Morgan seems to enjoy exploring - and does so skillfully in this book - is friendship. It's a topic to which most of us can relate. I enjoy how she peels back the layers of the friendship between Milly and Nicole, exposing the nuances of the stretched but not completely broken bond between the two women, revealing the reasons behind their estrangement, and then inviting us along the slow, sometimes painful, but ultimately joyful journey to reconciliation. Sometimes, it's those personal potholes in life that, once repaired, forge a stronger, more durable future. It's a story facet that Morgan crafts exceptionally well.
The secondary cast surrounding Milly and Nicole provide texture that only enrichens the overall story. Milly's grandmother (who has some of the best - and funniest - lines in the book), along with her mother (who has her own personal journey), and her daughter are well developed and intriguing characters in their own right. Two men (I love them both) offer respect, understanding, and hopeful possibilities to Milly and Nicole. Even Milly's ex has a realistic redemption (she's still better off without him).
If you're looking for a hopeful and heartfelt story about two women, the ties that bind them, the secrets that have kept them apart, and the summer that brings them back together, pick up a copy of Sarah Morgan's Other People's Summers. I highly recommend it.

Fair and unbiased opinion

Milly and Nicole were close in school but have drifted apart. Nicole is a superstar and Milly is a divorced single mother struggling to keep her life balanced. Milly resents Nicole because she wasn’t there for her but when Nicole pleads for help after a scandal breaks she agrees to hide her. The women slowly make their way back but Nicole’s been keeping a secret from Milly that threatens their bond again. Great story about friendship, forgiveness and finding a second chance

I’ve come to think of Sarah Morgan as a definite go to author. Her latest, Other People’s Summers, takes place in the idyllic Lakes section of England. This was an emotional story of two women, best friends since childhood, who must navigate changes in their lives which seem insurmountable. With love of family and friends, these changes can have positive outcomes. I loved the characters and their interactions. Quick read, perfect for a summer afternoon!
I received this arc from Netgalley in return for an honest review.

Another moving, emotional women's fiction/beach read that sees two estranged best friends reunited when disgraced actress Nicole shows up at single mother, Millie's B&B to hide out from the press and reassess what she wants from life. Filled with female friendship, romance and forgiveness, this was good on audio and sure to satisfy Morgan's many fans or anyone who enjoys authors like Susan Mallory or RaeAnne Thayne. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital and audio copy in exchange for my honest review.
CW: accidental pregnancy, infidelity

loved every character in this book. Each character has their own neurotic issues. So, there is someone in this book you can relate to…trust me!
Nicole is a famous movie star. She ghosted her best friend, Milly, when Milly needed her the most. Now Nicole needs Milly to help her, and of course, Milly comes to her rescue….But, their path back to “best friends” is not going to be easy.
I have said this before and I will say it again…I love a book with secrets and this book has quite a few. Nicole is definitely holding out on Milly. But, Milly just can’t quite let her back in. And when the secret comes out, as it always does, look out!
Need a book to just take you away…THIS IS IT! Grab your copy today.
I received this novel from the publisher for a honest review.

Other People’s Summers is yet another reason to love Sarah Morgan’s books.
Millie is trying to move on from her divorce and help her daughter’s live to stay as normal as she can. While she is trying to run her business and take care of her daughter , her childhood best friend , Nicole calls needing help. Millie feels abandoned by Nicole since she hadn’t heard from her since the divorce but still feels like she needs to help.
This book is about friendship and the hardships that come with them, love and family. Sarah Morgan always finds a way to outdo her previous books and leaves you excited for the next one.
Thank you NetGalley and publisher for a copy for my opinion.

This is a great read. It is about 2 friends Milly , who is very family oriented and Nicole who is an actress. They have been friends forever . When Milly's husband divorces her. She and Zoe move to the resort where she works. when Milly tries to get in touch with Nicole, she ghosts her. Then out of the blue Milly gets a call from Nicole that she needs a place to stay. So Milly says yes. See how their friendship is damaged and howi if they can repair it. There are many characters in this story. A GREAT READ.

I read this one to get me ready for summer and all the summer reads I am looking forward to! This book was so good. This was my first read by Ms. Morgan, but will likely not be my last. This book was so witty and heartwarming. A great tale of "girlhood", forgiveness, and loyalty. I will definitely be recommending it to my girlfriends!
