Thank you, NetGalley and Harlequin, for providing me with this free ARC in exchange for my honest review.

***SPOILER ALIERT*** So here's my issue: Why did Nicole choose to have a relationship with a man who was still legally married? Maybe I missed it but I don't think he was even legally separated from his wife. I realize that Justin's wife had cheated on him a bunch of times but that doesn't make his cheating OK. Why didn't he get divorced before starting a relationship with Nicole? Well, because that's not what he wanted. He wanted to stay married and have an affair. I have no sympathy for either of them.

I wasn't onboard with one of the characters' choices. That said, I did enjoy readnig this story and stayed up way too late so I could finish it. I loved most of the characters and also enjoyed the family dynamics between the different generations. There are several romances in this story but it was more about friendship and family relationships.

No profanity and a PG-13 love scene.

A heartfelt story about friendship, forgiveness, and second chances.

Sarah Morgan delivers a hopeful novel in Other People’s Summers, a story that captures the complexities of friendships that feel more like family and the ways life can pull people apart—only to bring them back together when they least expect it.

At its core, this novel is about Milly and Nicole, childhood best friends who were once inseparable but now live in vastly different worlds. Milly, recently divorced and raising her daughter alone, has built a quiet life in the idyllic English Lake District, while Nicole, a global celebrity, is used to flashing cameras, fame, and a fast-paced existence. When a public scandal threatens Nicole’s career, she turns to the only person she truly trusts—Milly. But forgiveness isn’t easy when the wounds of the past are still raw, and Nicole’s unexpected reappearance forces Milly to confront both old heartbreak and new possibilities.

The story unfolds with stilted small talk, long-buried emotions, and revelations, as Milly and Nicole try to rebuild the bond they once had. Along the way, Milly discovers her own strength, reimagines her future, and even opens herself to the possibility of love again. #OtherPeoplesSummers #SarahMorgan #FriendshipFiction #LakeDistrict #NetGalley #BookReview #WomenFictionReads #HQ

I was shocked by how different this book felt from Sarah Morgan's usual style! As a long-time fan of her heartwarming stories, I was expecting the familiar charm, but this one had a completely new voice. I found myself struggling to connect with the characters and the overall pace.

It’s not that the book was bad, it just didn’t quite hit the same sweet spot as her earlier work. I was hoping for a bit more depth and connection, but instead, it felt a little bit like the story was dragging on.

That being said, if you’re looking for a light, quick read for a summer afternoon, it could be perfect. Just don’t expect the typical Sarah Morgan magic that so many of her books deliver!

Thank you NetGalley & Harlequin Trade Publishing for sending this book for review consideration.

OTHER PEOPLE"S SUMMERS is a thoroughly charming novel about the power of forgiveness and the road to healing. These two friends are on quite the journey, and it's a pleasure to travel with them. Morgan immerses the reader into each scene and writes with humor and a cozy vibe that will appeal to fans of women's fiction. Heartwarming and uplifting, OTHER PEOPLE"S SUMMERS has earned its spot in your summer beach bag.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an advance e-galley; all opinions in my review are 100% my own.

A very sweet story about the friendship between Milly and Nicole. They had been friends since childhood but Nicole went on to become a famous actress and withdrew from the friendship. This book brought in a Mother, Grandmother and daughter and how they all loved each other. Also there is an ex and some new boyfriends. I really enjoyed this book and practically read it all in a day.

“Other People’s Summer” is by Sarah Morgan. I think I’d call this book a romance one (general genre), but it deals more with families - birth and chosen. Raven and Milly were close as kids, with Raven even putting her number into Milly’s phone as “sister.” While they were close for a long time, Milly’s divorce somehow ended up putting a wedge between the two women. Eighteen months later, Raven calls Milly begging for help as a world-wide scandal is playing out in the press. I found this book to be a difficult one for me to get into. The Lake District of England is beautifully described - hills, wooded areas, lots of hiking. I found one of the characters - Peggy - to be a hoot and a half. I didn’t really like all the comments about calories and eating healthy (while technically sugar, I will wholeheartedly support my local organic honey companies). I didn’t feel like I knew two of the characters well enough to get an opinion about them. Overall, this was an easy read with family and friends being the central theme.

Other People's Summers by Sarah Morgan is a sweet story about friendship and second chances. Milly and Nicole were best friends growing up, but as time goes on, they drift apart. Nicole, now a movie star, needs a break from her hectic life and stays with Milly at her cottage. As they reconnect, Milly struggles to move past old wounds while Nicole is dealing with the pressure of fame.

The friendship between the two women is at the heart of the story, and watching them rebuild their bond is touching. However, one thing that bothered me was the constant focus on body image and eating. It came up a lot throughout the book, and while I understand it’s part of their journeys, it started to feel a little repetitive and took away from the other parts of the story.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Canary Street Press for the opportunity to read Other People's Summers.
