I enjoyed this fast-paced hockey romance and thought the characters were great. Dalton and Joy have a lot of fun banter and spirit. I liked the way she had to get over her past heartbreak and learn to trust him, and he had the patience to take it slow for her so they could have the relationship they both wanted. I listened to the audiobook and the narrators are fantastic and brought so much life to the story.

This was so much fun. I will say that the cover kind of threw me off since there wasn't an actual marriage proposal and there is a ring box on the cover. But truthfully, the proposal in this book was so much more fun. This was much spicier than I was expecting AND the banter was top notch. I hadn't read the first book in the series, but I immediately downloaded it! This was a really cute and fun book and the narration was great as well.

“The Pucking Proposal” by Lauren Landish is a captivating blend of romance and humor set in the world of hockey. The audiobook, narrated by Teddy Hamilton, is excellently performed. Carly Robins’ voice complements Hamilton’s, creating an engaging and conversational listening experience. Loved it.

This book was a quick listen full of heart, humor & spice! I loved Joy & Dalton's characters. Their push-pull dynamic lends itself to wonderful banter, sizzling chemistry & heartwarming ending. Sports & hockey lovers will definitely enjoy this one!
Joy is a sports reporter for the local hockey team. She's a ball buster for sure with a wicked tongue & a quick wit. I LOVED her character! Dalton is an aging goalie but is determined to take his team to the championship this season. When these crash into each other in the locker room, a pre-game ritual begins, leading Dalton to think that he's gotta see Joy before every game in order to win.
Seeking her out, Dalton begins to get to know her. Joy has a NO DATING policy with athletes. She's been burned & wants nothing to do with a serious relationship. She's all about just having fun! But she's gotta be careful because, he's her brother's teammate & good friend.
Things start to heat up the more time they spend together & Dalton falls HARD & fast for this sassafras! Will he be able to break through her trust issues & prove to her that she's THE ONLY one for him? He's got to figure out a way to navigate their relationship & make her see that they should be together.
The side characters in the story are really fun & I can totally see them having stories of their own. Even though this is the 2nd in the series, it can easily be listened to on its own & you'll be able to follow along with total ease.
🎧Let's talk narration: When you put Robins & Hamilton together it's a guaranteed recipe for success & fun! What a treat for the ears. These two can deliver the sexy banter & give you all the crazy chemistry between these two characters. Robins is ALWAYS terrific at voicing a sassy FMC. I love her in these types of roles. Joy is sweet, sarcastic & totally afraid & Robins makes her such a delightful & likeable character. Teddy Hamilton is ALWAYS so great at voicing the reformed playboy whose usually bossy, possessive & completely smitten over the girl! His teasing & flirty exchanges with Joy's character kept me right on the edge of my seat. As soon as he started speaking, I was a total goner! This one left me smiling & happy. Totally recommend & loved it!
This one does hit on the spicy side.🔥 The two MC's are bold & forward & this makes for some fun spicy interactions. You'll wanna make sure your Bluetooth is connected!😉 Overall, a fun, entertaining listen with TOP NOTCH narrators that deliver!
Fair warning...there's no marriage proposal but rather a proposal he makes that is of the indecent kind!😂
Thank you to Lauren Landish, NetGalley & Brilliance Publishing for a copy of the ALC & opportunity to review. All thoughts are my own.

The Pucking Proposal is the second book in the Maple Creek series. The first book follows Hope Barlow, and this book follows her sister, Joy. Even though this is the second book in the series, it works just fine as a stand-alone. I did not read the first book.
This is a hockey romance between the team’s goalie and the local sports reporter who happens to be the sister of the center on the hockey team. I love sports romances, especially hockey. This one was just more spicy than I was expecting.
The premise was that Joy saw Dalton’s penis before a game, and then he had a great game and the team won. He approached Joy about making that a pregame ritual so he could keep playing well and winning. It was an odd way to start their relationship.
I mentioned it is spicy. I am not a prude and have read my share of spicy books, but this one just felt a little out of place, and I’m not sure why. I also feel like I know more about Dalton’s penis than my own, and that’s strange.
In the end, I liked both Joy and Dalton as characters, and I liked them together. Their story was charming and interesting. I just wish it was less about Dalton’s package.
If you love sports romances and spicy stories, then look no further.

The audio was incredible. The chemistry between the voices was undeniable, and the banter flowed effortlessly. It didn’t feel forced or scripted; it was natural, like I was overhearing something playful and genuine. The teasing and provocations added such a fun, flirty edge that kept me engaged from start to finish.
The way they interacted made the experience feel spontaneous and real. It wasn’t about the words alone; it was the energy and connection that made it so captivating. I couldn’t stop listening, and it left me with a smile on my face. It’s one of those experiences you don’t want to end. Absolutely loved it!

Just a PSA: don't let the cover fool you. There's no proposing in the traditional sense (no rings in sight). His proposal is of the indecent kind, but it's unique for sure!

Joy is a sports reporter, covering local sports, most particularly her brother's hockey team, the Moose. Shepherd's best friend, Dalton, is the grumpy, hot-headed ladies' man of the team. After an accidental "full-frontal" flash the night before the first game of the season, Dalton has one of the best games of his life. He begs Joy to agree to an indecent proposal in order to have the best season of his life. Joy agrees, only because she thinks feelings won't come into play...
This is spicy AF. I like the slow build of the romance. Dalton is a forceful dude, but Joy doesn't mind being his sub in the least. Of course, hiding their hookup from her brother means that there's OBVIOUSLY going to be a big blowup near the end. The third act break-up becomes more than than just the couple themselves, because the team gets involved with the drama.
The background characters are fun and feel very familiar, a great cast of characters. I almost hope that the author continues the series to expand the back-stories for some of the other guys too. I could see that being pretty successful. And a lot of fun to read.
The audiobook was pretty well done. I really like the male reader. His voice is the perfect tone. I've listened to other books he's read, and really enjoyed his work. She did a decent job too, but I think he voice was a little too high pitched for my taste.
All in all, the book was a lot of fun, and I'd definitely be down to read to another.
I received an Advanced Reader Copy via NetGalley in return for sharing my thoughts on this book. Thanks to the author and publisher for this opportunity!

Sheeeesh the tension between these two extremely hot!!
And that opening !!👀
This hockey romance will have you hooked from the very start! The banter these two have will have you laughing throughout the whole book and did I mention the amount of gasps I made by the way these two were so bold with each other ?! lol
Fair warning,This is extremely spicy as well!!
I highly recommend reading this book and highly highly recommend the audio 😮💨

Joy is a sports reporter and Dalton, a star hockey player. Of course their paths are going to cross at times but not in the way most would first expect. In fact, their first meeting sees Joy walking in on Dalton in the changing room and what begins then will have you in stitches. This book was an absolute hoot. I laughed a lot throughout and I lowered the volume on my headphones when the spicy scenes came on for fear the kids could hear! This one was a joy to listen to.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC!
Joy is a sports reporter that refuses to date an athlete. Dalton Days is a hockey player and her brother’s teammate. After an accidental run in, Dalton plays his best. When he figures out she’s his good luck charm, he proposes they have a pregame ritual where he shows her his *ahem member before playing. Joy begrudgingly agrees.
After things heat up before every game, the two can’t fight their sexual tension. It boils over and they begin a physical relationship, not just the voyeurism. Dalton wants Joy’s trust and a true relationship, but Joy s afraid of history repeating itself.
These two have to weather the storm for their HEA!
I received the audio and of course Teddy Hamilton killed it!

This is the first book of Ms Landish's that I have read in a while and I was not disappointed in the story.
In this second book of the series that can be read as a standalone book we get Dalton and Joy's story. Dalton, a professional hockey player and friend of Joy's brother is not looking for anything but when an accidental flashing of this goods sends him on a winning streak he feels that he must approach Joy and proposition her keep getting flashed to keep the streak alive - that is until it becomes more than just the initial flashing.
Joy, sports anchor for the local news has worked hard to get where she is so when she accidentally gets flashed by Dalton she didn't think it would affect her too much since it wasn't the first time that something like that has happened to her but it turns out that it was the first time where it lead to more.
In what starts as an innocent accident quickly turns into more for this pair but can they get an HEA when feelings get involved?? Read this story and find out.
As I said before this is a standalone read and the second book of this series. With that being the case, I had no problem following along with this book and didn't feel lost at all. I felt that Joy and Dalton were well written characters and had off the charts chemistry. Their story moved along well and had me interested in seeing where their story went throughout the entire telling. Overall, this was a great read that I would recommend to others.

What a fun rom com!
I have never read Lauren Landish before but I am happy I gave this listen a chance when I saw it on netgalley. Teddy Hamilton - need I say more?
A little forbidden and a touch of miscommunication but I overall really enjoyed it.

This is the kind of proposal I would like lol . This was a fun, sexy, amusing, read. I was really happy that the book contained actual hockey games and talk too.
