Clare Harlow does a fantastic job in writing this sequel to the Tidemagic world, it had that element that I wanted and enjoyed from this type of book. The characters were everything that I was hoping for and enjoyed overall in this universe. I was engaged from the first book and thought this worked well overall in the fantasy genre, and am excited for more in this series.

Tidemagic: Ista Flit and the Impossible Key
The second installment in Clare Harlow’s Tidemagic series continues Ista’s thrilling adventures. This time, Ista, Nat, and Ruby set out on a daring mission to rescue her father from the Marsh Queen’s clutches. With the magical Impossible Key in hand, they journey to Glass Island, a place filled with eerie creatures like the marsh spinners and wraiths. The adventure is packed with suspense, clever twists, and vivid world-building.
Strengths:
Fast-paced and engaging, perfect for middle-grade readers.
Characters are well-rounded, and Ista’s unique abilities add depth.
Imaginative settings like Glass Island bring the story to life.
Downsides:
Some plot twists are predictable for seasoned readers.
Occasional exposition slows down the narrative's rhythm.
Star Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4.5/5)
Overall, Tidemagic: Ista Flit and the Impossible Key is an enchanting sequel that balances heart, humor, and magic. It’s a must-read for fans of middle-grade fantasy, despite a few minor flaws.
