Not Another Rockstar by Kate Callaghan is one of those stories that sneaks up on you and lingers long after you’ve turned the last page. It’s raw, emotional, and at times completely devastating — but in the best possible way. The chemistry between the characters feels electric, and the emotional weight they carry is palpable.
Some parts feel a bit repetitive, but when a story tugs this hard on your heartstrings, you find yourself not minding as much. The “brother’s best friend” trope, the “he falls first” dynamic, and the way grief and love crash into each other here make this a truly memorable read.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – Absolutely Loved It!
Not Another Rockstar by Kate Callaghan completely hooked me from start to finish. I really enjoyed this book—especially the romance, which had me fully intrigued and emotionally invested the whole way through. It struck the perfect balance of tension, chemistry, and heart.
I felt such a strong connection with Phoebe, the main character. Her voice was relatable, honest, and full of emotion. Watching her navigate everything thrown her way made me root for her so hard. And don’t even get me started on Axel—I was in love. He was everything: intense, vulnerable, charming, and surprisingly tender. Every scene with him had me swooning.
On the flip side, Cillian? I had such a strong hatred for him. He brought out real frustration in me—which is a testament to how deeply I was pulled into the story. The emotions I felt toward each character felt incredibly real. I laughed, I fumed, I swooned.
Kate Callaghan nailed the emotional depth and character development in a way that made everything feel authentic. I’ll definitely be reading whatever she writes next!

Not Another Rockstar by Kate Callaghan is the story of Axel, a rock and roll drummer, and Phoebe, the ex-fiancee of the band’s lead singer. Phoebe becomes the target of angry fans and death threats after a car accident and finds unexpected solace and friendship in Axel while waiting for the media storm to pass. Her brother is also in the band and insists she end up moving in with them for her safety, putting her and Axel even closer.
I enjoyed this book and finished it in a couple of days. This is not the first book I have read by the author and it will not be the last. I liked the storyline with unexpected twists and turns and appreciated to be kept guessing even though I was pretty sure I knew who was causing havoc fairly early on. The characters were relatable and the pacing of the story moved along nicely. I recommend this book to anyone who would like to live a piece of the rock and roll lifestyle in many different facets. Thank you to BooksGoSocial and NetGalley for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

Not Another Rock Star was a fun, emotional, and refreshingly real take on fame, love, and second chances. I loved the chemistry between the characters—it felt natural and full of heart, with just the right mix of heat and vulnerability. The story balanced light, witty moments with deeper emotional themes, and I appreciated how it didn’t shy away from the challenges that come with being in the spotlight (or falling for someone who is). The characters were flawed in all the best ways, making them easy to connect with and root for. While a few parts felt a bit rushed, overall it was an engaging, heartfelt read that hit all the right notes.

Kay I actually enjoyed this so much! It was creepy and suspenseful but also gooey and romantic! Phoebe finds out her rockstar fiance has been cheating on her for months and she's had enough but then a tragic accident happens and her world is turned upside down. She's being trashed in the media and having false allegations hurled at her, she's being stalked and threatened, oh and having all kinds of moments with the brooding drummer Axel from her exs band! It's forbidden and intoxicating! Axel is caring and hot, he's so soft with Phoebe it just melts my heart, I was rooting for them sooo hard!! She is a total badass that can take care of herself but I loved watching her walls come down for Axel! This book has some heavy themes but all were handled very well.

This one was just okay for me. The plot felt pretty thin; it was packed with tropes we’ve all seen a million times, and honestly, it gave off strong YA vibes even though the characters are supposed to be in their twenties. It might be a fun read if you’re in the mood for something super light and don’t mind the clichés. Not Another Rockstar didn’t fully land for me, but it might hit the spot if you want something simple.

Kate Callaghan did it again - one of my auto-read authors for a reason, and it always makes me so happy when I receive a new ARC from her! She didn't disappoint with this new book. It had the perfect mix of romance and suspense. It was so easy for me to connect with the characters and empathize. I really liked Phoebe and Axel's story - it gives the message "what's meant to be will always find its way to be" pretty clearly. The only thing I can comment on is that I feel like she moved on from her ex a bit too soon, and the "revenge rampage" made me sigh out loud - for a grown woman, she surely doesn't think twice before she moves.

Just a great story line and so easy to read. Couldn’t put this book down and didn’t want the story to end. Really hope there’s another one

This is a gripping blend of romance and suspense that keeps the tension high from the first page. I enjoyed getting to know Phoebe and Axel and their forbidden romance. It uses the genre perfectly to tell the story that it needed to and had that writing style that I wanted and enjoyed in this type of book. Kate Callaghan wrote this well and am excited to read more from the author.

loved this romance and finding love and remembering love before the one. love the friends and the chemistry between the couple was on fire and loved the banter.

The pacing in this book was spot-on, keeping things moving without ever feeling rushed. The tropes were fun, and the characters were really well-developed, which made the plot even more engaging. Overall, it was a very enjoyable read. Something you can get lost in without it dragging. Definitely a great pick if you’re looking for a fun story with solid characters and a well-crafted plot.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

I thought this book was okay. It had a lot ingredients to make it great. Including a fun murder mystery plot, likeable characters, lots of paparazzi drama, and the worlds best dog.
Some parts though just didn't work for me such as how much Phoebe seems like she didn't care about Cillian at all. She was lusting after Axel like the morning after she found out he was cheating, she made out with Axel the day of his funeral, she has sex with Axel cleaning out what was supposed to be their marital home? Also Phoebe also made a lot of questionable decisions including vandalism, destruction of property, and assault. All of which I felt was unnecessary and maybe she should have been arrested.

This was a delightful short read. I particularly enjoyed the unique twist on the classic love story. The disruption to the main characters’ relationship presented a refreshing change from the usual storyline, making it an engaging and unexpected read. The plot twist at the end was particularly surprising and left me thoroughly impressed.

Great characters good storyline. Hooked from the first chapter. Thanks for letting me review. Would continue the series

Faced with false accusations, Phoebe Fletcher is thrust into the spotlight and becomes a focus for obsessive fans. Turing to her ex's bandmate, Axel Adler, together they strive to sort through the web of lies and treachery.
Emotionally charged and packed with twists and turns, this was a rollercoaster of a read.

Incredibly cliche but I liked the chemistry between the main characters.
the third act was sooo… 🌚 like it just didn’t give what was needed. Very unnecessary in my opinion and it was rlly predictable.
The writing could’ve been a lot better in the sense that there was no fluency in the dialogue and the inner monologues needed to be shorter.
The best thing was almost all the characters showed complexity and they frustrated me to no end lmao. I wanted to literally throttle Cillian thru my phone.
It was easy to read even tho I cringed quite a bit with some of the lines.

This was such a good mix of romance, mystery and suspense! The amount that Phoebe goes through in the first few chapters is just shocking. She is such a strong FMC, I loved her so much.
This book reminded me a little bit of Starstuck and All Rhodes Lead to hear (both books I’ve read and previously reviewed). I really enjoyed the loyalty that the band showed Phoebe because of all their years together, and also the fact she is related to Nick.
Axel is such a solid MMC. He is steadfast, loyal and reliable beyond a doubt. I love the caring he showed Phoebe, and all the lightheartedness he shared with her after everything they went through together.
I love the twisted ending to this book! I didn’t really predict some of the stuff that happened until right before they did, but this book definitely had me on my toes wanting to know what was coming next!

Readers who revel in the intoxicating allure of steamy, high-stakes romances, where passion and danger intertwine, will find themselves utterly captivated by this enthralling narrative. The story unfolds amidst a whirlwind of suspenseful mysteries and intricate relationships, all set against the glamorous yet chaotic backdrop of fame and fortune. Prepare to be swept away by a tide of emotions as you navigate the complexities of love, loyalty, and betrayal in a world where secrets abound and nothing is quite as it seems. With each page, the stakes are raised higher, the tension becomes palpable, and the lines between love and obsession blur. This irresistible tale will leave you breathless, yearning for more, and questioning the very nature of desire and ambition.

I really enjoyed this book! The relationship between the MCs was well done and the twists with the mystery part where interesting. I did manage to figure out the whodunnit before the reveal but I don't think this is too much of a criticism.
I've read a couple of Kate Callaghan's books now and have really enjoyed them. I will definitely be picking up more in the future.
Thank you to Kate Callaghan and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Not another rockstar by Kate Callaghan is told by alternating points of view from Phoebe and Axel. It also comes with a playlist with us also fun!
Phoebe is a painter and her boyfriend Cillian is her rockstar boyfriend. Cillian is in a band with Phoebe's brother called Brothers of Anarchy.
After the best painting showing of her career, her agent pulled out that Cillian hadn't showed up to her show. Phoebe decides to show up at the Brothers of Anarchy show, only for things not to go as planned.
After a fight, Cillian and Phoebe get in a tragic car crash and only Phoebe survives.
But after the video of her rockstar fiance's tragic car crash is released Phoebe Fletcher is hit with false accusations that she might have something to do with it. Through all this she forms a bond with the band's drummer, Alex Adler.
Will she be able to find her happily ever after or will she have to play a grieving fiance to a cheater?
Thank you Kate Callaghan for partnering with NetGalley. I received an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion and review.
